Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Abilities for the Yugen Path (Path 1):

0. Shinobi 101: Will Genjutsu DC with Ninjutsu Accuracy

0. Journeyman:
Much of Yugen’s early life revolved around completing tasks for his former Master. Whether that involved tracking local merchants or mercenaries or rummaging through the ruins of Kirigarkure Yugen always had a tasked that needed to be completed. This has led him to become a competent adventurer and traveler and has also educated him in the ways of the world. Now, as a lone wanderer, Yugen makes use of this past experience in his quest to find like-minded individuals that want to make the world a better, safer, and fairer place for all of its inhabitants regardless of village or ability to manipulate chakra.

1. Combat Instinct:
Yugen has spent his entire life training for battle. His body was modified by his former master to improve his ability to fight. For these reasons Yugen has developed an acute sense of what to expect from enemies during combat. His well-trained, and doujutsu powered, eyes can recognize weakness or inexperience in an instant which ultimately leads to Yugen using this knowledge to his advantage. In the end, winning a fight has less to do with your knowledge of forbidden jutsu, or your control over a rare bloodline ability, but in one’s capability to keep a clear head in combat.

2. Sage Mode:
Yugen was trained by a Sage, granted the Sage he trained with corrupted natural chakra and used it to preform profane rituals and twisted experiments, but ultimately a Sage is a Sage. While Yugen’s Master was not interested in teaching Yugen the forbidden arts of a Dark Sage, since that was how he controlled Yugen, he did teach him the basics of Sage-hood. Making use of the natural chakra that surrounded him, and thanks to Yugen’s particular bloodline, this came naturally to him. This increased Yugen’s power tenfold, and once he received his contract from the Fox clan, his Sage training was complete.

3. Elemental Aura:
Yugen’s former Master had been an expert at using Chakra Armor abilities. He believed that having a sturdy, ever-present defense was not only important, but a necessity. This was a philosophy that was passed down to Yugen over his years of training, and thus he gained some expertise in Chakra Armor jutsu as well. Overall, Yugen’s first path posses a much more defensive set of abilities than the others, which is something that is by design, as it is purpose that he has decided upon. The first path of Yugen now uses Chakra Armors and barriers to not only protect itself, but the other paths of Yugen as well.

4. Healing Factor:
The first path of Yugen, his “Original” body, possesses a Senju bloodline. This bloodline not only provided the user with a larger than normal pool of chakra and access to the Wood Style jutsu, but also provided the benefit of naturally occurring healing at a higher rate. Yugen’s former Master saw this as something that should be tested upon in hopes of further improving the healing rate. Luckily for both individuals, Yugen’s natural healing meant that his Master could be a little more liberal in his experimentation. Eventually Yugen’s Master was successful, and through the countless experiments he put Yugen through, the Master had increased not only Yugen’s natural healing but the benefits he received from being healed by jutsu.

5. Acupuncture:
Similarly, to the increased natural healing and healing effects that Yugen received from his Master’s experimentation, Yugen’s “Original” body went through numerous experiments to improve his Chakra control. The Senju bloodline already provided him with an increase Chakra pool, but his Master wanted to improve the rate at which said Chakra regenerated. This typically involved tests that would drain his Chakra quickly, and then apply huge amounts of stress to Yugen’s body in order to force his body to try and generate Chakra at a quicker pace. These tests proved to be some of the most difficult, and painful, tests conducted by Yugen’s former Master. They also proved to be some of the most beneficial as well.

6. Duelist:
Due to the nature of Yugen’s former Master’s lifestyle, Yugen very rarely fought against more than one person at a time. While he certainly did train against large numbers of his Master’s clones, nine times out of ten Yugen just fought in one-on-one battles against his Master. This led to a natural affinity for fighting in duels, which was usually how a lone Shinobi would fight anyways. Luckily this did not prove to be much of a hindrance to Yugen in the log run, in fact it proved to be the opposite. Yugen’s countless duels with his Master led him to become quite the duelist, giving him quite the advantage in one-on-one combat.

7. Contract Master:
For almost two decades the only company Yugen had, besides his Master, were the creatures of the now frozen forests of the Water Country. The sudden shift in climate had devastated the ecosystem of the once tropical paradise. Much of the native plant and wildlife had quickly died out, while a handful of the more resourceful creatures were able to adapt. Those that were able to survive were, in most cases, not your typical wild animal. Most of these were unique creatures, typically referred to as “Contract Animals”. While he did not form a contract with every creature he came across, he did make a habit of not only actively studying them but assisting them in times of need. They, in turn, returned his kindness by teaching Yugen some of the most advanced contractual summoning techniques.

8. Willpower:
Yugen’s true strength did not come from his bloodline, the jutsu he knew, or even the Rinnegan itself. It did not come from the countless hours of training, studying, or meditating. The true power he possessed was something that many individuals lacked, purpose. Yugen knew what his goals were, he knew what his end-game was, and the steps necessary to get there. He was aware of the path that he walked, and the sacrifices that would need to be made. The pain and suffering he would cause to others, and to himself, were unfortunate but ultimately necessary in the end. Nothing could stop him, and more importantly, he would not let anything stop him from achieving his ultimate goal.

I listed my Shinobi 101 for my first path on the previous post.

Time to start on my second path!

00. Shinobi 101 - Melee Accuracy shared with Kinetic Genjutsu DC

0. Sentinel

1. Initiative
One of the major perks to having a path that possessed the Byakugan, the legendary Dojutsu of the Hyuuga Clan. was the reaction time. It was already difficult enough for Yugen’s enemies to outmaneuver him due to his Rinnegan, but now that he possessed the Byakugan as well practically nothing could get past him. On top of that, the Chibui path was built for high-speed hand-to-hand combat. This meant that Yugen was able to act before his enemies could comprehend what was going on. Giving Yugen the upper hand in combat against practically any enemy he would come up against.

2. Weapon Attunement
The Chibui Path was equipped with uniquely crafted gloves, gloves created personally by Yugen out of the chakra disrupting material created through use of the Rinnegan. These gloves were literally a part of the Chibui Path now, and that granted him a special connection with the weapons. Granting him improved accuracy and damage capabilities, which came in quite handy during combat. In addition to this, in the previous life of the Chibui Path, he had been an expert at hand-to-hand combat and the gloves he wore now were essentially an exact replica of the ones he had used in his past life.

3. Ambidexterity
In the Chibui Path’s previous life he had been a master of hand-to-hand combat, partially thanks to the unique style and abilities given to those with the Hyuuga Clan’s impressive Dojutsu, the Byakugan, but also due to the Chibui Path’s commitment to excellence. Then, and now, he made use of two black gloves that were created using special materials that increased the damage done by the weapons. Now the gloves were made out of a material which can be created by those who posses a Rinnegan that allow the user to disrupt the chakra flow of their enemies. Which is something that the Chibui path has become quite good at.

4. Martial Artist
In the Chibui Path’s previous life the Hyuuga clan member had dedicated his entire life to mastering and perfecting the unique fighting style used by those who possessed the rare Dojutsu, the Byakugan. It is said that he never missed a single training session, which he would partake in at least twice a day. It was rumored that he was the fiercest Taijutsu user in the entire Hidden Mist until the day of his passing, and because of this countless numbers of fledging shinobi sought him out as a teacher, of those the Chibui path only took a handful to pass along his techniques to and those were individuals who shared his work ethic and desire for perfection.
5. Strategist
Not every aspect of Yugen’s power was reliant on his possession of the Rinnegan, in fact it could be argued that the most important thing he possessed was a sharp mind and a thorough understanding of battle. While a majority of his youth had revolved around physical training and tests, the remainder of his days were spent studying battle tactics and the techniques of legendary shinobi from the past. During training Yugen’s former Master would constantly test him in ways that were meant to improve his strategic thinking and understanding of the battlefield. Because, more often than not, battles were won not through overpowering your enemy, but by outsmarting him.

6. Defensive Technique
While the Chibui Path was an offensive powerhouse capable of dealing massive amounts of damage to Yugen’s enemies, thanks to the unique fighting style afforded to the path due to its’ possession of the Byakugan, but it was also a very capable master of defensive. Again, this was partially due to the unique Dojutsu the path came equipped with as well as its previous life spent mastering martial arts. This mastery over defensive fighting techniques meant that the path did not suffer from a lack of momentum that sometimes occurred when other fighters went on the defense. Once again setting the Chibui path apart from others.

7. Duelist
In the previous lifetime of the Chibui Path, he had spent every afternoon sparring against any of the Shinobi of the Hidden Mist that was willing to test their might against his. Eventually, after years of sparring, the Chibui Path developed a proficiency for dueling. Yugen had not been able to determine if this was due to the Path’s Byakugan, through the years of one on one battles, or through a combination of both. While it did not really matter to Yugen, he found it very interesting that this proficiency carried over in the DNA, meaning that this proficiency had become as much a part of the Path in its past life as its unique Dojustu was.

8. Human Anatomy
Yugen was, scientifically speaking, very familiar with the biology and physiology of the human body. This was only improved upon after he created the Chibui path using the DNA of a former Hyuuga from the Hidden Mist. The rare Dojutsu, known as the Byakugan, that came along with this Path allowed Yugen to pinpoint specific chakra paths that, while noticeable with the Rinnegan, Hyuuga’s built their entire fighting styles around. While all paths could benefit from this knowledge, the Chibui Path was specifically equipped to make the most out of it. The Path could pinpoint enemies weakness, or use this knowledge to cause catastrophic damage to his enemies’ chakra paths.

9. Bloody Mess - Extra Ability Slot through ASP applied
Similarly to the Chibui Path’s expertise in human anatomy, and the Chibui Path’s ability to capitalize on this knowledge, the Chibui Path could cause devastating damage to Yugen’s enemies. More so than any of Yugen’s other Paths, the Chibui Path, while it did not necessarily hit as hard as some of the Ninjutsu focused Paths, had a tendency to cause critical damage to the bodies of its opponents due to the pinpoint accuracy and unique damage effects caused by the Chibui Path’s fighting style and rare techniques. These techniques would cause a rare bleeding effect on its enemies, the bleeding occurred internally which meant that it was harder to prevent and fix.

Oh, whoops! I'll go ahead and take care of those now!

First Path:

0. Shinobi 101: Will Genjutsu DC with Ninjutsu Accuracy
The Yugen path’s main focus in combat had always been Ninjutsu, but as he became more and more proficient in it he realized that he would benefit from at least dabbling in Genjutsu. While he understood and had mastered a broad variety of Ninjutsu, his focus on Genjutsu would be much narrower. He intended to master a very specific branch of Genjutsu, one that would boost the effectiveness of his Ninjutsu even further. This complementary Genjutsu would make him an even more formidable force whilst spamming Ninjutsu attacks at his enemies. Luckily he was able to practice on his other paths, and due to the mental link, he was able to know when his Genjustu worked.

Second Path:

00. Shinobi 101 - Melee Accuracy shared with Kinetic Genjutsu DC
The Chibui path’s main focus in combat had always been Taijutsu, specifically the Gentle Fist technique, but as he became more and more proficient in it he realized that he would benefit from at least dabbling in Genjutsu. While he understood and had mastered a broad variety of Taijutsu, his focus on Genjutsu would be much narrower. He intended to master a very specific branch of Genjutsu, one that would boost the effectiveness of his Taijutsu even further. This complementary Genjutsu would make him an even more formidable foe whilst using different Taijutsu attacks against his enemies. Luckily, he was able to practice on his other paths, and due to the mental link, he was able to know when his Genjustu worked, and how effective it would be against his target.
[spoiler/]

0. Sentinel
In the past the Chibui path had served as a well-respected gate guard for Kirigakure. Fellow gate guards had given him the nickname of the ‘Blind Sentinel’, or the ‘Silent Sentry’, due to his drive to protect the gates and follow the rules by the book. Because of his constant duty at the gates he had developed a slight boost to his hardiness, getting in small skirmishes often. Whether that be with shinobi attempting to go missing from Kirigakure, foreign shinobi attempting to sneak in, or just breaking up scuffles between merchants, very few days went by where he was not called to act.

0. Shinobi 101: Gen DC Shared with Poison Ninjutsu Accuracy:
As was the case with many of the shinobi who hailed from the Yamanaka clan, the Datsuzoku path was skilled at two primary types of jutsu: Genjutsu, and Poison based Ninjutsu. Datsuzoku was an excellent de-buffer, capable of making Yugen’s enemies spend more chakra than they anticipated on every attack they made against him. This path, coupled with the Dansou path, would utterly cripple Yugen’s enemies. Leaving them without chakra and completely helpless. As Yugen became more and more comfortable with this particular path he would come to realize that it was one of the most important, and powerful, paths under his control.

0. Journeyman:
As was the case with many of Yugen’s paths, the Datsuzoku path focused greatly on ensuring that it conserved as much chakra as possible. While it was not as much of a concern for Yugen’s more taijutsu focused paths, the Ninjutsu and Genjutsu focused paths trained fervently to ensure that no chakra was wasted during battle. This usually involved casting certain jutsus over, and over again during sparring matches in an attempt to determine where extra chakra was lost, and where and when chakra could be conserved. As Yugen became more and more familiar with his Yamanaka path he quickly noticed where and how a little chakra could be conserved during battle.

1. Mind Overflow:
The Yamanaka clan was well known for their Genjutsu capabilities, there was no question about that. But what most people did not know was that their true strength came from their minds. The Yamanaka had the unique ability to posses another person’s body and control its actions while doing so. They were, in essence, powerful psychics who were also capable of telepathicly communicating over long distances when supported correctly. This also meant that, after a considerable amount of practice, that they could overwhelm their enemies by stacking Genjutsu after Genjutsu on their enemies mind crushing it under the weight of their psychic powers.

2. Illusionist:
The Yamanaka clan’s skill in illusion was almost unmatched, with a few exceptions, due to their ability to infiltrate the minds of their enemies thus allowing them to effectively ‘layer’ their Genjutsu without necessarily making their enemies aware of what the Yamanaka were doing. Additionally, while the Yamanaka infiltrated the mind of their enemy they were able to get a sense of what their enemy feared, desired, or lacked the most and were therefor able to create illusions that were specifically catered to their enemy. Adding yet another layer of effectiveness to their already incredibly powerful illusions and Genjutsu techniques.

3. Elemental Illusion - Water:
A shinobi with considerable skill in casting Genjustu as well as a particular element of Ninjutsu could effectively combine the two to gain additional effects on their Genjutsus once cast. The Datsozoku path had a knack for casting Poison and Water based Ninjutsu and was therefore able to combine its Genjustu with a hint of Water elemental energy. This effect would cause any jutsu used by an enemy effected by the Datsozoku path’s Genjutsu to cost more chakra, and therefor end the fight faster. When This effect was combined with the chakra draining power of many of Yugen’s other paths the outcome almost always ended in a victory.

4. Mind Crush:
As was the case with all types of jutsu, as a shinobi became more and more skilled and educated on how their jutsu worked he or she was able to make minor tweaks on how they cast it to either inflict more damage, cost less chakra, or elongate the effects of said jutsu. Such was the case for the Datsozoku path and her Genjustsu. Due to her natural affinity to Genjutsu, coupled with her countless hours of training, she was able to adjust her Genjutsu as to better suit her needs during any given fight, whether that meant making the Genjustu last longer, or hit harder, she could do it all.

5. Shattered Reality:
Similar to her ability to tweak the length or power of her Genjustu, the Datsuzoku path was capable of abruptly canceling her Genjutsu once applied to the target, causing serious mental and physical trauma to her enemies. This was usually done once her enemies discovered that they were being affected by Genjutsu in order to make room for another effect whilst causing considerable damage that could not be avoided like one could a Ninjutsu or Taijutsu based attack. While this occurred the Datsuzoku path would follow up with a different Genjutsu so that there was never a moment when her target was not under the effect of a Genjutsu.

6. Willpower:
Since the Datsuzoku path was quite familiar with all things Genjutsu, as well with the inner workings of the human mind and psyche, she was very capable when it came to dispelling Genjutsu that was cast on her by others. This was very important in the grand scheme of things to Yugen as a whole, because the sense of all of his paths were connected. This meant that if one path was affected by a particular Genjutsu, that it affected all of him at the same time. This also meant that if the Datsuzoku path was able to sense and dispel a Genjutsu, that it would dispel it on all of the paths.

7. Stalker:
The Datsozuko path, while very capable when it came to casting Genjutsu and certain Ninjutsu, was very susceptible to melee and ranged attacks. The Datsozuko path was, physically, slightly weaker than most of the paths in Yugen’s arsenal. For this reason, Yugen decided to invest time in to making the Datsozuko path as stealthy as possible, allowing the Datsozuko path to remain hidden in the shadows while casting Genjutsu on his enemies. This ensured that not only would the Datsozuko path remain out of harm’s way, but also allowed the Datsozukp path to cast her Genjutsu without alerting her targets.

8. Enchanter Style:
Since the primary focus of the Datsozuko path was to cast Genjutsu on Yugen’s targets, Yugen decided to invest time into learning the Enchanter Style fighting technique. This boosted the effectiveness of the Datsozuko path’s Genjutsu as well as reduced the chakra cost of the Genjustsu. The only downside was that it left the Datsozuko path more open than other fighting styles would normally allow. This Yugen planned to counter by focusing on a stealthier approach by the Datsozuko path, because one cannot hit what they cannot see. By allowing the Datsozuko path to remain hidden and cast Genjustu from a distance Yugen would ensure that the downside of this style would not be utilized by his enemies.

Yugen was declared inactive from an activity check due to lacking an IC post for over a month.
