Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Remember how Ziren has a metal arm? Well, he tweaked it a bit. The secret of how the metal arm stays connected to his stump, is chakra. It runs through the metal arm to make it function. Because of this, a new version of Ziren's metal arm, Guantlet Shot, has some holes in it, which shoot out his chakra, in which, it is the type of chakra that is major, in Ziren's case, water. Not really adept at aiming, he finds it hard to really use that weapon, and usually use it when his main weapons are done. But with training, he is able to hit an enemy from afar, when not having to depend on Ninjustu as much.

Name: Hotaka Brōlu
Personality: This particular plant creature is a bit of the antisocial side. And by antisocial, he hates humans. He has little care for them. Every now and then, he gets the occasional human walking into his home, the forest, claiming they have signed their names on a tree. The way of signing up for a plant contract. Brōlu only gives them one chance to prove themselves. If they fail to, then he runs them out of his place of peace. So far, no human he sees as being good enough to have the plant contract. Any other creature approaches him though, and he will have a different way of acting. Those that are not human, he treats with the utmost respect, as they live to survive and thrive, whereas the humans, all they live for is destruction. With any other creature, they see him smile, he laughs and is known to be the center of a wildlife party when it comes down to it. But as soon as a human enters the stage, however, he loses his composure, as the way he sees it, they don't deserve to see him the way he is with other wildlife. He never lashes out on them, for he knows that they can retaliate if they so wanted to. Instead, he often goes with snarky remarks. But don't mistake him for being weak, as he does know how to be a bit of a fighter. By plant standards, he is about middle aged. Three hundred-fourty-two years old to be exact. Which would explain how he acts. In the end, he deeply cares for each wildlife that exists inside of the Forest.

History:
Born three hundred-fourty-two years ago the plant creature came into existence from a seed that was experimented on by human alchemists (aka scientists), who wanted to weaponize plants to use in an old war. Mixing in lemons, oranges, and apples, with other plant life, they came up with some kind of dangerous plant creature. It wasn't sentient. In fact, it looked differently than what it does now. Back then, it had no where to store chakra, to power it up. It's chakra flows were out of control and the humans usually made it wear some kind of collar to keep it under control.But when Kodoma, the plant Overlord heard of this monstrosity of a creation the humans made, he turned it into something more. Much much more.

One night, while an alchemist was testing some things out, his focus not on Brōlu, light seemed to be absorbed into the plant creature. It transformed it, into something even stronger, something that the humans never were able to do. It became sentient. It became, known as Hotaka Brōlu. A name that the plant Overlord himself game the newly known plant creature. Down his back were fruit. They were the fruit used to make its existence, lemons, oranges, and apples. But these are different. They permanently are connected to Brōlu's body, that is where his chakra is stored. His pine tree-like tail has turned to have a red tip on the end of it, and parts of his skin took part of looking like the color of an apple.

Once he became sentient. Knowing of what he is, a mere experiment that humans played with nature, destroying it, he was thrown in a rage. That night, Brōlu killed all those that made him and then fled away from the accursed place that birthed him. Even having a talk, once he met Kodoma, that not all humans are bad, evil, Brōlu could never forget what he was. A weapon to use during any wars the humans have. But as the years past he has met some that showed compassion and love, some he almost trusts, until he finds out that they are just using him. In the end, he just tolerates humans, seeing them as creatures always begging for more power. Years and years went by, and Brōlu has acted like a guardian angel of the forest that he has fled to. His new home, has been home to many other creatures, plants especially. Not even close to grand as Kodoma's home, because humans still can come into Brōlu's home without any kind of trust from a plant friend.

More years past and one human got his attention. A blue haired blood user. Took on and fought one of his own when the other, a scientist, was burning down his home. The blood user almost died several times, but never quit until he was done with apprehending the fire starter. After all that was done, he soon heard that the blood user became friends with old Kodoma. He even gave the kid a chance to sign his name in the ancient oak of all the humans who have formed a bond with plants.

Several years past, and his home was under attack by another human. This time, Brōlu was ready and stepped in. But the weirdest thing happened. That same blue haired human he has seen so long ago appeared again. He stood in between Brōlu and the enemy human.

"Don't worry friend. I'll make sure this dude pays for what he's done." The Blue haired one said.

Brōlu grunted and walked over and stood by the blood user. "First off. I ain't friends with any humans. This is my home, I'll deal with him." This was actually a small test he was doing on the human. Seeing if what he has heard about him was true. And if he was worth putting trust in.

Brōlu had to admit. If the blue haired one didn't help out, the plant creature would be a pile of ashes now. After the enemy human was taken care of, Brōlu attacked the blood user. Tackling him down to the ground, "Tell me, human! What do you want from me!"

Instead of retaliating, the human did nothing, which confused Brōlu. The blue haired one then said, "I don't want anything from you. Unless, if you want, companionship. You seemed to handle yourself well back there."

The plant creature thought about it for a second. "Of course I handled myself well. I ain't no pushover like you are. But let's say I do join you. I will not be part of your tool to use when war wages. And yes, I do know of a war. The trees whispers of blood being spilt, death and destruction. I've heard of plant and wildlife dying to make components for weapons."


The blue haired one stayed quiet. And then he said, "You are right. You are not a tool, or a weapon, or any of that. You are much more. You are alive. And for the fact that they are destroying your home, means you have to do something about it. There is much more at stake than human lives. But all the lives."

Brōlu listened as the human talked. He snarled at every word he said, but the last sentence seemed to getting him. He got up and let the human pick himself up. "Fine I'll help. Be your companion. But just know, this doesn't make us friends. I have no human friends, and am not looking to make any. Only allies willing to help for the better. For my home."

Reading, a favorite pastime that Ziren has, but unfortunately for him, it has come a thing of the past, quite literally since he is too busy to even read anything he wants other than reports and paperwork. That was when he had idea. One of the books that he has studied over and over again, that he now knows every single word of th book. He used his Hemonancers gift ability to make an exact, um... Bloody copy of the book, one in which he could take to the battlefield. Surprisingly enough, while reading this book while out on the field, he seems to be more aware of his surroundings, though of course holding a book does mean he isn't hitting as powerful as he wants. But it is a sacrifice he is willing to make in order to keep his favorite pastime. By adding it to battle.

By sharing the bond, you may end up causing your own death.

Rank 1/2/3: Choose one ally; the user takes 20%/35%/50% of all damage dealt to the bonded ally. Ally receives 20%/35%/50% less damage from all sources.

Cost: 1.5 AP; 2% Max CP/Rnd

Notes:
- Damage is split prior to any Damage Reduction coming into effect. Both the user and the target will have their own individual Damage Reduction, if any, come in to play separately.
- If the bonded ally is knocked out while still bonded, the user of this jutsu loses 50% of their remaining HP from the shock.


Psychokinesis - Independent Special Move (2 pts)
Attempting to flee from a Ghost Walker in pursuit of you can be very difficult. Their keen senses are not the only reason; a Ghost Walker is capable of completely shutting down any of their targets' attempts to 'cheat' them out of a hit.
Effect: If any of the user's attacks are auto-dodged, they may reflexively pay 1 AP to cancel the auto-dodge. This requires a Genjutsu Check, and may only effect a target once every other round.
Notes:
- This may be used as its own conditional, and does not have to be tagged to a specific attack. (For example, the conditional could read 'use Psychokinesis on the first attack of mine that is auto-dodged.')
- Can be used on Activated Auto-dodges as well as passive auto-dodge activations.

Curse of Black Blood - Blood Ninjutsu
A specialty technique of the Mahoutsukai Chigokai is a blood-thinning curse that causes it's victim's wounds to leak like a sieve while also draining them of their stamina. Those that are afflicted by the Curse of Black Blood for too long find their ability to recover from wounds stymied while drowning in a pool of their own free-flowing life blood.

Rank 1/2/3: Curses an opponent at -3/-2/-2 Accuracy. A cursed opponent loses 2/3/4 HP Modifier every 10 seconds and suffers 10/15/20% additional damage from Bleeding.

Cost: 1.5 AP and 780/975/1,170 CP + 390/490/585 CP/rnd to maintain

Blood Break - Blood Ninjutsu
The most brutal technique of the Chigokai, one that involves both restraining and stealing the lifeforce of a target. This skill directly manipulates the blood within someone, forcefully locking their body in place while simultaneously extracting their blood out of their body through skin and wounds. The blood violently pulled out of the victim of this technique is absorbed by the user, replenishing their own life by draining others.

Rank 1/2/3: Binds the target at -2/-1/+0 Ninjutsu Accuracy. Upon hit, and every 10 seconds afterwards, the target takes 1540/1930/2310 Blood damage and have their Bleed Rank increased by +1 rank. The user regains HP equal to half the damage dealt by this technique + the HP equal to the half the target's current bleed rank.

Cost: 3 Ap, 2290 Cp, 1150 Cp/Rnd

Notes:
- Lasts up to 30 seconds. Requires a Ninjutsu check at the start of each round.
- Once this jutsu is dispelled, the target cannot be effected by it for 10 seconds.
- When bound, the victim cannot move.
- For every 2.5 Ap spent the target has a 15% chance of escaping.
- This bind is broken if the victim takes damage from any source other than this jutsu, or the user attacks the victim. (They have a -3 Dodge penalty to the attack aimed at them though)
- If the user takes more than 10% of their Max Hp in damage during a round, the bind is dispersed.
- If the user uses more than 10% of their Max Cp during a round, the bind is dispersed.
- If this jutsu hits multiple target through some effect, the user gains HP equal to [highest HP absorbed from a single target] + 10% for each additional target.

Light can be used for many things. Traditionally, the Exalted use their powers for honorable strikes and abhor sneak attacks. However, they aren't adverse to evening out a fight in an unfair situation, especially when combating against those who would use such skills on them.
Effect: Makes a bright flash of sacred light that blinds everyone who fails a Ninjutsu dodge check against it in the battle, allies included. Gives -4 accuracy that round. Blindness wears off by half each round. Can only be used once every three rounds.
It has been a while since Ziren has trained like this. Even moreso that he is now a Chimera rather than a Dark sage. Today, he was training with an exalted. Everything was going smoothly and in his way, that is, until the exalted's weapon started to glow. In an instant, Ziren was blinded, and then he felt one hit, two. And then he was done for the count. When he came to, he seen the exalted sitting nearby. "Like that skill? Very useful to use."

"yes, it would prove fruitful to use in combat if I say so myself."



"Would you want to use it?" The exalted asked. Ziren smiled, "What, would you prefer a blood transfer? Me being a chigokai along with a Chimera makes me have an even more unique chakra flowing through my blood."



And with that, they went to the hospital and the exalted transferred blood to Ziren. Ziren felt a certain power coming from his left hand, his metal hand. Soon light enveloped the area. Interesting, very interesting indeed.

Ethereal Weapon - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Long have Ghost Walkers sought a viable means of attacking while in Ghostly Form, and here it is--a weapon of sharpened chakra itself, striking with piercing force and able to be held by even the intangible.
Effect: User creates a weapon out of pure chakra; this costs 100 CP and 1 AP to summon and 100 CP/rnd to maintain. All attacks made with this weapon are considered Spiritual, and Genjutsu may be channeled through it without the use of handseals. This weapon has two augment slots and goes by normal Weapon Creation Jutsu rules.


Psychokinesis - Independent Special Move
Attempting to flee from a Ghost Walker in pursuit of you can be very difficult. Their keen senses are not the only reason; a Ghost Walker is capable of completely shutting down any of their targets' attempts to 'cheat' them out of a hit.

Rank 1/2/3: Strike a single target at +1 Ninjutsu Accuracy to transfer up to 1/2/3 Bleed ranks from themselves to their target, or vice-versa. For 20 seconds, if the target's Bleed rank ≥ 3, 30% of all chakra costs come from their HP instead of CP.

Cost: 1.5 AP; 2% Max CP

Notes:
- Ranks cannot be transferred onto a target which does not have any open Bleed ranks. Example: if this was used to transfer 3 Bleed ranks to a target at Rank 3 Bleed, only two ranks would be transferred.

Eight Trigrams: Heavenly Guard - Unarmed Taijutsu
The Heavenly Guard combines the Hyuuga's precise chakra control and graceful movements into one, producing a technique capable of striking enemies just as well as it can protect allies. Showing all the traits of the Gentle Fist, this technique is considered to represent the Discipline as a whole.

Rank 1/2/3: Strikes 1/2/3 targets for 1800 damage. The user gains the 'Heavenly Guard' status. Rank 3 allows the special action to be used.

Special Action - Heavenly Cohort: The user may use this technique reflexively as a Barrier for the user and up to two additional targets, granting each target their own Barrier and the 'Heavenly Guard' status. This barrier has HP equal to the damage it would have dealt as an attack, and protects against Elemental and Physical damage.

Cost: 2.25 AP, 900 CP.

  • Requires 5 second cooldown after use..
  • 'Heavenly Guard' status grants +40% Damage Reduction vs the first attack which hits the user (if multi-hit, applies to the entire action), and has a 50% chance of negating any non-damage properties the triggering attack may have. Heavenly Guard remains active for 5 seconds, or until hit by an attack.
  • Heavenly Cohort has its own individual barrier HP pool for each protected target and the user.
  • Heavenly Cohort follows all Barrier rules with one exception: Allies and the user may perform Unarmed attacks without ending the Barrier’s protection.
Was it Ziren's imagination, or was his right eye starting to get a little bit blurry? He closed his left eye and looked around with his right eye. Yep, everything seems blurry. And his glasses aren't helping either. With a sigh, he figured it was time to go visit the hospital to see an eye specialist. The doctor held up a needle, a sedative, Ziren presumes, which will knock him out while they do their magic. Eh, he was best out on the field than trying to do stuff with eyes, so he let the doctor do what is needed.

When he came to, his right eye seemed sore, if that were ever possible. And things seemed to look a little different. He asked the doctor what was up. And the doctor answered, without missing a beat, "Yeah, sometimes we get some Hyuuga that donate their eyes to either want to live a normal life, or it be their final wishes." Frankly, Ziren wanted to pummel the guy in. Kind of reminded him of when Ibumo had implanted the sharingan into Soku, his sister. But Ziren knew that this doctor didn't mean no harm. The dude could have asked though. The doctor brought him out into a training like area, and before Ziren, was a dummy. It was like Ziren knew the movements. The right eye guiding his whole body as chakra flowed around, both striking the dummy, and also throwing up a protective barrier in front of Ziren.

Liquid State - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Through a keen understanding of water and all its various properties along with their innate connection, master Tidercallers can turn themselves into liquid, giving them resistances to various forms of attack.
Effect: For 2 AP and 700 CP, the user may transform themselves into water. In this state, all Water actions cost -15% CP and the user gains +10% resistance to Bleeding and Called Shots. Costs 350 CP/round to maintain.
Note: This counts as a Chakra Armor.
As a Chimera, Ziren has learned many things about each blood line and core ability. But one that seems to pique his interest today was an ability that tide callers possessed. Now he may have water as a major element, but he has nowhere the control that of the Tide Callers. The ability that intrigues him the most? Liquid state. Now he wasn't able to find and ask a tide caller how one would be able to master it, but there was always the hospital.

Upon getting there and asking for a genetic implant, the doctors had set to work. They went and replaced his lungs, with very careful, very precisely. When he awoke, he felt... Different. More different than the last two times. He focused. Water. And then he became a puddle of water! He turned back to himself, and tried countless times until he finally was able to keep a humanoid form in this liquified state.

Notes:
- Lasts up to 30 seconds. Requires a Ninjutsu check at the start of each round.
- Once this jutsu is dispelled, the target cannot be effected by it for 10 seconds.
- When bound, the victim cannot move.
- For every 2.5 Ap spent the target has a 15% chance of escaping.
- This bind is broken if the victim takes damage from any source other than this jutsu, or the user attacks the victim. (They have a -3 Dodge penalty to the attack aimed at them though)
- If the user takes more than 10% of their Max Hp in damage during a round, the bind is dispersed.
- If the user uses more than 10% of their Max Cp during a round, the bind is dispersed.
- If this jutsu hits multiple target through some effect, the user gains HP equal to [highest HP absorbed from a single target] + 10% for each additional target.

Light can be used for many things. Traditionally, the Exalted use their powers for honorable strikes and abhor sneak attacks. However, they aren't adverse to evening out a fight in an unfair situation, especially when combating against those who would use such skills on them.
Effect: Makes a bright flash of sacred light that blinds everyone who fails a Ninjutsu dodge check against it in the battle, allies included. Gives -4 accuracy that round. Blindness wears off by half each round. Can only be used once every three rounds.
It has been a while since Ziren has trained like this. Even moreso that he is now a Chimera rather than a Dark sage. Today, he was training with an exalted. Everything was going smoothly and in his way, that is, until the exalted's weapon started to glow. In an instant, Ziren was blinded, and then he felt one hit, two. And then he was done for the count. When he came to, he seen the exalted sitting nearby. "Like that skill? Very useful to use."

Ziren nodded,
"yes, it would prove fruitful to use in combat if I say so myself."



"Would you want to use it?" The exalted asked. Ziren smiled, "What, would you prefer a blood transfer? Me being a chigokai along with a Chimera makes me have an even more unique chakra flowing through my blood."



And with that, they went to the hospital and the exalted transferred blood to Ziren. Ziren felt a certain power coming from his left hand, his metal hand. Soon light enveloped the area. Interesting, very interesting indeed.

Eight Trigrams: Heavenly Guard - Unarmed Taijutsu
The Heavenly Guard combines the Hyuuga's precise chakra control and graceful movements into one, producing a technique capable of striking enemies just as well as it can protect allies. Showing all the traits of the Gentle Fist, this technique is considered to represent the Discipline as a whole.

Rank 1/2/3: Strikes 1/2/3 targets for 1800 damage. The user gains the 'Heavenly Guard' status. Rank 3 allows the special action to be used.

Special Action - Heavenly Cohort: The user may use this technique reflexively as a Barrier for the user and up to two additional targets, granting each target their own Barrier and the 'Heavenly Guard' status. This barrier has HP equal to the damage it would have dealt as an attack, and protects against Elemental and Physical damage.

Cost: 2.25 AP, 900 CP.

Notes:
  • Requires 5 second cooldown after use..
  • 'Heavenly Guard' status grants +40% Damage Reduction vs the first attack which hits the user (if multi-hit, applies to the entire action), and has a 50% chance of negating any non-damage properties the triggering attack may have. Heavenly Guard remains active for 5 seconds, or until hit by an attack.
  • Heavenly Cohort has its own individual barrier HP pool for each protected target and the user.
  • Heavenly Cohort follows all Barrier rules with one exception: Allies and the user may perform Unarmed attacks without ending the Barrier’s protection.
Was it Ziren's imagination, or was his right eye starting to get a little bit blurry? He closed his left eye and looked around with his right eye. Yep, everything seems blurry. And his glasses aren't helping either. With a sigh, he figured it was time to go visit the hospital to see an eye specialist. The doctor held up a needle, a sedative, Ziren presumes, which will knock him out while they do their magic. Eh, he was best out on the field than trying to do stuff with eyes, so he let the doctor do what is needed.

When he came to, his right eye seemed sore, if that were ever possible. And things seemed to look a little different. He asked the doctor what was up. And the doctor answered, without missing a beat, "Yeah, sometimes we get some Hyuuga that donate their eyes to either want to live a normal life, or it be their final wishes." Frankly, Ziren wanted to pummel the guy in. Kind of reminded him of when Ibumo had implanted the sharingan into Soku, his sister. But Ziren knew that this doctor didn't mean no harm. The dude could have asked though. The doctor brought him out into a training like area, and before Ziren, was a dummy. It was like Ziren knew the movements. The right eye guiding his whole body as chakra flowed around, both striking the dummy, and also throwing up a protective barrier in front of Ziren.

Liquid State - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Through a keen understanding of water and all its various properties along with their innate connection, master Tidercallers can turn themselves into liquid, giving them resistances to various forms of attack.
Effect: For 2 AP and 700 CP, the user may transform themselves into water. In this state, all Water actions cost -15% CP and the user gains +10% resistance to Bleeding and Called Shots. Costs 350 CP/round to maintain.
Note: This counts as a Chakra Armor.
As a Chimera, Ziren has learned many things about each blood line and core ability. But one that seems to pique his interest today was an ability that tide callers possessed. Now he may have water as a major element, but he has nowhere the control that of the Tide Callers. The ability that intrigues him the most? Liquid state. Now he wasn't able to find and ask a tide caller how one would be able to master it, but there was always the hospital.

Upon getting there and asking for a genetic implant, the doctors had set to work. They went and replaced his lungs, with very careful, very precisely. When he awoke, he felt... Different. More different than the last two times. He focused. Water. And then he became a puddle of water! He turned back to himself, and tried countless times until he finally was able to keep a humanoid form in this liquified state.
