Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

A lifetime of danger has proven to be the stone whetting the skills of Kaji Okada. Since the days of his youth, his enemies have proven to be the greatest teachers a warrior could hope to have.
Under the tutelage of Master Iwakura, Kaji’s first sword style was a form kendo dueling, taught with the intention of young Kaji dispatching opponents quickly and efficiently in combat. By definition, the sword techniques of Kaji Okada focus in defensive counter-attacking: avoiding the attacks of his enemy long enough to analyze their patterns and exploit weaknesses. While many of his opponents may have monstrous strength or ninja arts beyond compare, they can still bleed— it’s Kaji’s style to always aim for the right spot.

In the case of a weapon forged through the powerful enchantments of a master smith, the wielder must treat the weapon’s magic like an extension as well. The saber named Eelspine was originally of a neutral ilk— a mere vessel which absorbed traces of soul matter from dispatched opponents. As one might imagine, collecting the traces of evil beings can taint such a weapon, and it requires significant effort by the user to counteract such an occurrence. The long walk of Kaji Okada with this weapon at his side has led to a change: via his attunement, the weapon has come to reflect the salvation found by Kaji through his oath to the Wild Matron, Sakuya-hime.

05. Weapon Attunement
Allow me to further the dissertation on the aforementioned attunement. The so-called masterwork saber known as Eelspine is a blade enchanted with space-altering magic. Using a soul-mongering arcadianite gem, Kaji is capable of gathering chakra from defeated opponents through combat, and conjure this power into densified energy. Rather than the use of traditional hand sealing, or the pointed focus of eye-based visual jutsu, Kaji is capable of performing the sword’s various powers through mere sword technique and a thought. Unfortunately, the constant attunement to Eelspine has the drawback of bearing the remnant of those defeated foes. When the power flows from Eelspine at it’s zenith, unpredictable manifestations may appear within the rush of Kaji’s techniques.

It is merely natural for most of the spatial distortions conjured by Eelspine to reflect the weapon’s nature; razored edge blades designed perfectly for cutting the target they are aimed at. Despite the weapon utilizing the chakra of captured souls, Kaji must still apply his own will and energy to give the bursts of chakra solid form. Without this focus, the chakra from eelspine would unleash like bursts of rumbling thunder, but not enough to rend a foe in two. Over thirty years of wielding this powerful saber has made Kaji a master-level dueling swordsman, but the added power of the blade allows him to swing strikes much farther than his enemies expect.

07. Bloody Mess
The greatest testament to an effective swordsman is their ability to land meaningful strikes. It takes a fine blend of physical might, awareness of where to strike, and coordinated movements to make the most of every motion. The perfect stroke is a life’s work in any warrior’s career. Even the magic of Eelspine requires utter concentration to unleash blows with follow through. Monstrous enemies are particularly difficult to kill with conventional edged weapons. The greater they are in size, the more pointless it is to deliver generic connecting strikes. Kaji’s principle strategy is to begin with strikes that open deep wounds in high-stress areas, like the knees, which bear a lot of pressure to keep the opponent agile.

Every second in combat is another tick on the scales between every player in action. The purpose of slowing your opponent should be obvious: to delay their defenses so that you may deliver a killing blow. If he does not judge his opponent to be a threat in mobility, Kaji will instead target their means of attacking, be it their arms and tails, whathaveyou. “If the opponent is an Uchiha, always go for the eyes... but don’t over do it or else you’ll miss good shots at their vitals” said Kaji in a standard lecture. Strike fast and impair them!

09. Contract Mastery
In situations where an opponent is heavily guarded or simply too large for swordplay to be effective right away, it’s time to call in some support. Rhokul is Kaji’s go-to partner in battle, and when there are stakes worth fighting for, Kaji will not hesitate to call in the Lizard Gang. The strategy of tandem combat with a summon varies by species and your own style. In the case of Kaji and Rhokul, they utilize diversion tactics and positioning to stack a flanking attack known as Lounging. The pair work to a staccato beat, swapping lead-strikers, feints, and parries in an attempt to overload the opponent or even the odds.

10. Initiative
Utilizing the openings provided by lounging are imperative to the pair. As a smaller combatant, Kaji is inevitably faster than Rhokul and tends to create a combination of strikes for every single heavy blow from the lizard titan’s bladed scales. It is often Kaji’s role to draw in the opponent’s focus as he will always be deemed the key threat when Rhokul is initially summoned. He will entrap the opponent or draw their fire, allowing Rhokul the chance to brutalize any existing wounds. The key to taking down any considerable opponent with the blade is by a consistent attack. Apply pressure to weaken their guard and get their blood literally flowing.

11. Combo Master
Most ninjutsu sorcerers lack the speed of a combatant who specializes in melee taijutsu. They will always fall behind the sword press, so you must attack in a bursting wave, then dodge as they manage to complete their clumsy hand seals. A proper combination involves more than connecting in a chain— no, you must attack with purpose. Remember the golden rule: impair the opponent and only then may you finish them. Attacking out of turn will result in wasted movement, and likely your demise quickly after. Grapple them, blind them, and use your weapon in rapid succession to build your legend in the opponent’s mind.

12. Willpower
Above all, the mind is the key element to one’s presence and power in battle. The existence of illusionary techniques make the importance of will clear— you keep your head in the game and you’ll stay in the game. Techniques like the cancellation are essential to every ninja’s repertoire. However, more advance than that is the skill to innately maintain a connection to your surroundings. The power of will is the understanding of who you are, where, and what is in order. No matter how proficient Kaji may be with his weaponry and arsenal of techniques, he knows that it’s all over if he can’t notice the slightest alteration caused by an opponent’s mind altering illusion.

@Miyazaki Hikaru Oof, now this is a conundrum. Listed previously through this old dojo of mine is the proof of purchase of a ton of stuff predating the current iteration of the inventory system. We used to just buy the stuff in the dojo and the council would subtract it from our yen. I've been playing tai for a long time so I have a lot of augments purchased... Tbh I feel like it would just be easier to buy the ones I need than backtrack my purchases and refund me. So I'mma just buy these augments again.

Description:
In life, Xinyue was one of Kaji's teammates in their three-man ANBU Cell. As children and apprentice shinobi, Kaji and Xinyue sparred constantly, with the latter using her so-called rival as a tool to further her progress as a swordsperson. In head-to-head combat Xinyue regularly dominated Kaji, forcing him to hone his skill as a strategist and opportunistic fighter. Xinyue's combat style was dual-wield long, rippled claymores, designed to cause bloody wounds too shredded for an opponent to survive without immediate treatment. As a soul, the influence of Xinyue appears as an added ferocity behind Kaji's sword-swings with Eelspine.
