Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Shun couldn't help but feel nervous. He usually spent Valentine's day with his father, listening as Shuichi would tell tales of how he and Reijun met. It was a sort of tradition, a way for them both to cope with the loss of Shun's mother. However, this would be the first year since her departure that Shun wouldn't spend with his father. He had made plans to explore the town a bit with a friend he had made through countless experiences since his first step into the shinobi world; Shion.

Shun wanted to take his new friend to the hot springs, for both of them to relax a bit from the woes of training and classes. It would be a pleasant memory rather than all the stressful experiences they had been through. Shuichi had woken up early to prepare them a special homecooked meal, something that Shun and Shion could have for a little lunch picnic while sightseeing.

Shun took the packed lunch with a soft smile, giving Shuichi a big hug and promising to return that night for any stories his father wanted to tell him again. With his nerves settled down a bit, Shun stepped out of his house and made his way into town to meet Shion at his little home under a house.

Once Shun arrived, he knelt down at the entrance and knocked on the wood to announce his arrival. He wouldn't invade Shion's privacy unless invited inside, especially after what happened in the exam. That was a survival strategy only; this was still Shion's home and he would respect that.

Shion had a rough night's sleep at this point. It was cold outside and he was still sore from the training they had at the academy. Not to mention, the slight scratches were itching as they were healing. Yet in the books of early for this boy... the time would be roughly half an hour before Shun would be even arriving. Having no alarm clock to wake people up in the morning was often making things more difficult.

As he sat there, attempting to comb his hair with his fingers, having at least brushed his teeth and rinsed out his mouth with a bit of water and waddling to the spit hole... He then went below grounds again to his new little broken piece of mirror to attempt to put band-aids on the cursed spots. Shun may know about them, but many other people didn't and he didn't like pointing fingers at him at this age.

He didn't hear the footsteps of the other as he was placing the band-aids. One cheek was done and as he was getting the band-aids ready for the second one, he heard knocking on the wood really close by. This resulted in the young child having a reaction. Almost like a cat that was doing something that wasn't allowed. He tensed his muscles and launched himself upwards as he tried to stand up, but within the confined space he soon found the sealing and bumped his head on it. A wince was given and he lay his head low, the second bandaid on the ground in the dust and he holding his head. There was no blood and wouldn't be. But it still felt sore like regular I headbutted something.

Once the sharp initial pain died out he would look towards Shun and wave. "Kelp..." He muttered as he would then slowly crouch from under the house to meet him a bit better, still having only one bandaid on. He then would offer a water bottle towards the other as he himself wasn't ready yet on the adventure. If shun was willing to wait, he would grab another bandaid and get below ground to his little mirror to place it on the other cheek before getting from under it again and nodding he was ready to go.

Shun heard a little thump from under the house after his knock, smiling a little embarrassed and realizing he probably should've gave a little warning. He saw Shion peek out and grinned, slipping into the house and taking the water bottle. He watched as Shion went to place another bandage on his cheek to cover the second mark.

"I heard a thump. Did you hit your head?" he asked curiously, walking over to Shion as the mute faced him, ready to go. Shun brought his hand up to rest on Shion's head gently, checking to see if it would hurt. He would wait for Shion's reaction just to make sure the pain wasn't too much that they had to stay home.

Once he was sure that Shion would be okay, Shun's hand dropped to Shion's hand to lead him out of the house and start their journey around the town. He avoided some of the areas that he knew Shion wasn't welcome at, not wanting there to be any trouble on their day of relaxation. This was going to be a good day.

Shun led them towards the hot springs, paying for them both to enter with the money his father had gifted him for the day. "I don't know if you have ever been, but I heard from Dad that this is a very nice place to get away from everything," he explained. The heat from the springs could be felt as they walked further in. Shun picked up a robe and a towel, handing the set to Shion before grabbing his own.

Shun had requested a private spring for them, and he seemed to have lucked out by getting one with a decent view of the town if you sat near the edge of the pool. He closed the doorway off to their little space, undressing and folding his clothes neatly to settle them on the ground before slipping into the warm water. He looked back up at Shion, grinning softly.

He listened towards the other if he did bump his head yes or no... Shion would nod a time "Salmon.." he would then say and look towards the hand that reached up and petting him. It was still a little sensitive... On which his body reacted on wanting to remove the other hand yet his own movement stopped as he thought the other was being nice to care about it. Yet it felt really odd towards I'm as no one ever did this before.

It was surprising to see that the other had remembered from that one time... that he had avoided a spot left or right. Slowly feeling a little bit more up ease, yet he didn't relax. He kept checking over his shoulder, taking more time to notice the surroundings rather than focussing on his new friend. As they arrived... Shion never really thought about the fact that they would be needing to spend some yen... And he didn't have any to start with, this did got resorted by Shun.. But he felt bad that the other had to pay for him too.

Once inside the hot springs, he simply redressed after getting the set from Shun. He never knew about the mark between his shoulder blades. But Shun would be able to see his body with the bruising, old scratches and marks that were still healing. He didn't pay them any mind. But once the warm water got to his skin, it did felt warm. So warm that he at first was reacting like the water had been cold. Feet in, feet out. Crouching down he would let his hand in the water and made a perdy face. 'Hot... so hot...' This was something he never knew even existed. So far his own shower and clean up moments... was with cold water. It had been a miracle the boy didn't get sick yet.

Yet attempting to do it at his own space, he would sit down and let his legs in first. Just after he would look at shun and saw him grinning softly. Tilting his head towards the other as a mention of 'what's up.' Yet he couldn't say that.

Shun was simply taking in Shion's reaction to the setting; it was kind of cute how Shion was taking the warmth of the water. He saw the way Shion fixed him with a curious look and a tilt of the head, and Shun shook his head, looking away but still smiling softly. "Did you know that you have a marking between your shoulder blades too?" he asked, though he would assume that Shion was probably unaware. It wasn't exactly a place Shion would be able to see on his own.

He moved to sit on the side of the spring, his skin running a bit of a chill as the heat seemed to make him react without thinking. He leaned back a little, tracing a fingertip over the marking. "Right here," he spoke softly. He then leaned forward a bit, looking into Shion's eyes before his gaze fell to the bandaids resting on Shion's cheeks. "You can take the bandages off. It's just us, for as long as you want to stay here."

Although they would be able to see the town below, it would take a well-trained eye to be able to see them from so far away.

Shion himself had no idea about the mark between his shoulderblades, he felt the others touch and his body did tense up below their touch. Not for affection but attempt to protect itself. Shion gaze got a bit more serious after that, he never liked people close and having others touching him on places he couldn't see... was something he needed to had faith in that it went fine. In this occasion went fine, but he still kept the serious look on his face.

On the request on his bandaids, he would shake his head. "Okaka..." He would say and leave them on, he wasn't comfy knowing that he got those marks... and now the fact that he had one too on his back... It made him even more hesitant to display the ones on his cheeks too.
Maybe a bit more hasty he started to get below in the water, having a huff as he finally got his body in and submerged enough that the mark was hidden now below the waterline. "Chopped katsuobushi)" Shion muttered under his breath and started to blow bubbles in the water. He found it hella funny and started to see what he could and couldn't do... If the water was deeper then their heights were. he would soon found half panicking after he had gotten to a spot where his feet didn't touch the ground anymore. After all... the kid couldn't swim.

Shun watched as Shion denied his suggestion to remove the bandages, instead slipping into the water to hide the one marking visible on his back. He let out a soft sigh, not having meant to make the boy uncomfortable. Shun found the markings a unique sort of beauty, something to be proud of. He couldn't force Shion to think the same as him, though.

When Shion began to struggle in the deeper area of the water, Shun was quick to react. He slipped into the water and swam over to the boy, grabbing Shion's arms to wrap them around his neck. "Hey, I got you. It's okay," he spoke softly in hopes to calm him down. Shun wrapped one arm around Shion's waist to keep him close as he supported both of their weight in the water.

Shun hadn't thought about the fact that Shion wouldn't be able to swim. He moved them over to the shallower parts of the water so that Shion would feel more secure with his feet on the ground. "Are you okay?" he asked, his tone gentle. Upon the reaction Shun received earlier when he touched Shion, he moved his hand away once he was sure Shion could support himself.

The moment that he couldn't stand anymore, was a moment that he was fearful. What would happen next? what would be the next cause of action..? He had no idea at this point and he started to breathe rather rapidly till the point Shun was quick enough to get him through it. He swallowed thickly and looked towards Shun. Nodding and he understood what he had been saying.

It was only a moment later that he noticed that they had been this close towards each other... and he was, glad, that they were separate again and he was back to a place where was able to stand. 'learned... from that experience. Not again, nota anymore, nope... I don't like bathtimes anymore... 'Out of politeness he stayed inside the bath, but from the inside, he already was done with bathtime.

As the other asked if he was fine, he would nod towards the other. It seemed that today, wasn't really his day. First off he bumped his head, this moment he almost would drown... Now that would have been drastic news. Hot springs let in a child that couldn't swim. 'Shocker...' He was less occupied with the fact that his back was more out of the water, but he thought that his life was a little bit more worth than awkwardness over a mark.

Shun hated how this day didn't seem to be going so well for Shion...surely there was a way that Shun could turn things around for the better. His eyes widened upon remembering the lunch that his father had sent along. "Hey, Shion, are you allergic to anything?" Shun asked as he pulled himself up out of the water. He grabbed the robe and slipped it over his body, using the towel to dry a bit of water from his braid. He felt the tie at the end of the braid coming loose, so Shun just pulled it off and let his hair fall freely down his back.

He grabbed the little boxes the two meals were wrapped in, walking over to the little fence that kept them from falling off the side of the open spring. "We can eat for a bit, then head back out to the town and look around the shops that don't know you, if you want. I heard there are special holiday treats at some."

Shun set the second bento down next to him for Shion to treat himself to, leaning against the rail to sit more comfortably as they would start to eat their meal.

For Shion... this probably was one of the more quiet days with what was happening with him or his body. Once he finally took a breather he looked towards the other as he started to say something again. He would tilt his head a little and look towards him. Slowly he started to shake his head. He wasn't sure if he was allergic to anything or plain nothing. He would look towards shun as he got out and he himself got to the ledge to sit up on, having his feet in the water and his back slightly bend away from Shun's direction. He would stand up and walk towards Shun with the towel around his waist.

Grabbing the bento box and first inspect what was inside. There was so much that he really started to feel guilty at the fact he didn't had anything to give back to Shun. He frowned a little before looking again towards the bento box. Then towards shun. He wanted to say that he couldn't accept this... But he couldn't really find the words and he started to eat from it. It was at that moment that he made a surprisingly ah sound and started to eta more and more hastily from it. With shion.. there rarely was a silent nibble at things.

It was only halfway through the bento box that he agreed on Shuns plan by saying "Salmon"

Shun smiled as he saw Shion digging into the meal, glad that the boy was enjoying it. When he heard Shion's reply, he nodded his head. He was pretty sure at this point that "Salmon" was a yes of sorts. Shun ate a bit slower, turning to look out at the town from their view. The walk from Shun's house to Shion's, then to the springs, spent a good half of their day. The sun was midway through the sky, and the warmth from the water washed against the back of his neck helping him relax.

He came up with an idea to snoop the town, casting a Crystal Eye jutsu and sending it down to the streets to find a good place for them to make their next destination. It only lasted about thirty seconds, but he scanned a street with a few less people, not recognizing any of Shion's avoided spots. It seemed like a safer area of the town to go to.

"I think I found our next place," he spoke in excitement, looking back to Shion as the jutsu dispersed. "Oh, have you ever been to the Hokage Mountain?" he asked curiously. It would be a cute place to end the day with Shion, away from the world with a beautiful view of the night sky.

As Shion finally started to gobble less down on the food, he saw how the other started to do something funky. He had never seen this and he was walking around Shun, or as much as possible, to check him out and an attempt to be made to see if he could see what the other saw. "..?" He tilted his head in a questioning manner and as he started to nod slowly... he would place away from the last few bites of the bento box and start to walk towards the dressing area for their clothing again. Thinking they already had to move along. He couldn't really answer the other, as technically he had been there before. There was this weird kid dancing, being blind but having such a vision it was just a strange thing to say.

He simply shrugged on that question eventually and he knew what other people often did... And he would do so too. Walking toward Shun he would hold out his arms, attempt the hug and if possible give the other a kiss on the cheek. He had seen many, many children do this and even he and his little sister used to do this. Just giving kisses on the cheek. Even though a lot of the adults seemed to do it on the lips. In the Streets stranger, things were happening too, yet Shion always walked away.

Shun walked along with Shion to get dressed, excited to take him somewhere he surely wouldn't have his day worsened by. Shun slipped into his clothes, slowly starting to braid his had when he saw Shion come in for a hug.

Shun hugged Shion back, more than overjoyed that Shion still felt comfortable with him despite everything that happened. When he felt a kiss pressed to his cheek, a red hue came across Shun's face. Although he was quick to make friends, Shun had never really gotten close with anyone because of his past introverted experiences. All he needed was his mother and father.

Being here with Shion and spending time with him, becoming good enough friends that they could share a kiss on the cheek like family, it really made Shun think. He returned a little kiss to Shion's cheek. A smile settled on his lips as he took Shion's hand again to lead them out of the hot springs.

Surpised to get the small smooch on the cheek back... he would slowly nod towards him. After all, he had seen all the adults and kids doing it today and more than any other day. Now he himself never had heard of a Valentines' day, so this was all just innocent and sweet after all.

Shion kept walking with the other and he himself started to look around a lot. This was an area he never really had been around in... So things were rather odd. At one point he even halted in his movement to see a street artist that was up and doing his tricks. He blinked a couple of times before he would move along once more to where Shun wanted to move.

Shun led Shion down the streets slowly, stopping now and then when Shion would have his interest piqued by something happening in the streets. He found the other's curiosity cute, a thought he simply kept to himself as he continued through the town. He stopped at a stall in the street, letting Shion pick any candies or trinkets he would like. Shun picked out a box of chocolates himself, as well as a small bracelet that had a little circle charm on it. It reminded him of Shion's marks, something that Shun found himself thinking about a lot.

There was something beautiful about this unique part of Shion, even if the boy wasn't all that confident in his skin at the moment. Shun wouldn't push him; he would simply support Shion in both his confidence and insecurities. Hopefully Shion would be able to learn how to be proud of his marks and the powers he had.

Shun took Shion's hand once they finished their shopping, leading him towards the Hokage Rock. The sun was getting low, and Shun really wanted to make it to the spot on top of the mountain so they could see the sunset from the best view.

Shun led Shion up to the top of the Hokage Rock, the sun setting on their precious day of memories. Shun would be sure to remember this in the years to come. He seated himself at the edge of the overlook of the town, Shion next to him. The sky was filled with stars, not a cloud in sight. "I really enjoyed spending time with you today. I hope we can do this again," Shun spoke softly, looking over to Shion.

The academy days were busy, and they led such different lifestyles, but Shun really did find a sense of peace and safety with Shion. He wouldn't give it up for the world. "No matter what happens in our futures, I hope that you and I get to stay close." He gave Shion another hug, then moved to look at the stars once more. They spent a few hours up there, before Shun realized how late it was getting. His father would be worried if he didn't return home soon. "We should probably get going, it's late," he spoke up.

Shun stood up, offering a hand to Shion before leading them back down from the Hokage rock. He walked with Shion back to his home, stopping outside the little entrance to the underparts of the house. "I'll see you around," Shun said with a grin, knowing that he was bound to bump into Shion again in the near future. "Goodnight, Shion."

And with a soft smile, Shun turned away to walk on home.
