Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kana found a sort of solace and peace within the ruins of the city. A place most cared not to go. Now, mostly deviants made their home here. Something she didn't care much to face if that's what it came down to. Though most of the scum would scurry when they saw someone dressed in full sand regalia with her headband shining bright. Years and nearly all of her money had been spent into research. A complete sink into this new transformation she hoped to achieve. In truth, it was Juri, an older Kunoichi, who gave her the ability to push so hard into caring for the future. Though she was now filled with a renewed vigor that the young kunoichi never had before. Months had been spent recovering her eye sight and basic function of her muscles. Minutes ticked by like hours as she lie there with no ability to live within this world. It was trapped inside her own mind that she found this new and strengthened motivation. A feeling and a knowledge that she could be the best at something. The very best shinobi the world has ever seen. A true blend of finesse and power.
Finally Kana would find what she was looking for. A building in complete disrepair and a likely location that no-one would care if she made a mess of her surroundings. It was time to begin putting forth all of her might into training her new found abilities. First the young girl would do a proper stretch and loosen the garb she wore, the plan was to build up a good sweat. Turning her head from left and right would cause her shoulder length black hair to swing from side to side with each graceful turn. Then she would extend her torso to each side before thinking that she was ready. Closing her eyes, she inhaled deeply, filling her lungs to capacity. Then she would exhale and open her eyes. The turning kaleidoscope of red and black swirls no longer appeared but a new mixture never before seen to the shinobi world. Her temples strained and her eyes turned white, though tomoes from her sharingan spun around the center. A stance that seemed animalistic in nature caused her limbs to thin out. A basic training sword made of stone would be pulled from her bag as she went full force.
The rubble and vacant standing structures stood no chance against the might of her attacks. Though it seemed there would be no stopping her as causing debris simply gave her more targets to hit mid-air.
Swift would be an understatement as she nearly flew into every blow. It was the first time Kana got to experience her new power and it was still only a taste, but she craved more. Time would stand still for the girl as she lost herself in this moment. She was so focused on the battle before her and a concentration on how to learn the best way to maximize her new perspective of the world. For the first time in what felt like forever Kana was allowing joy into her heart. A joy that can only come from the thrill of battle.

One-thousand, two-hundred, and twenty-nine documents rested inside of the ex-assassin’s “out box”, a metal box filled to the brim with documents that would soon be sealed away. For the first time in months, Toushin’s desk was completely clear of unorganized reports and stacks of “to do”. It was something that would have eventually come around regardless of how little he had in assistance as the man did what he did best and acclimated to the work load, it just happened slower than usual. Now that he was used to having well over a hundred reports waiting for him every morning, he did well to have only, maybe, five left once he walked out. Hunkered over the desk with a special black marker ready to strike incrimdating evidence, the elderly gentleman quickly scanned each page as if he had his own dojutsu technique; hand darting over hundreds of words per page in seconds.
In this new routine of heavy information gathering the former hitman couldn’t help but let his eyes stray over certain acts of criminal behavior, but quickly strike a redaction with his mighty pen in order to further either his own curiosity before taking it into his own hands, or furthering an investigation by letting fools oust themselves. By the time the final report he would handle for the day slid before him, Toushin’s hand hesitated. Nakamura Kana, a name he had watched spot up recently here and there. A Genin with a prestigious background and a large insentience with everything in the world ready to be handed to her, seemingly, and yet here her name was on his desk once again. The first time was marked due to trips into the Underground, and he dismissed it as simply a youth being curious; she was a trained killer, after all. The next few times she delved back, supposedly spending vast amounts of her wealth every time, is when the old killer’s intrest was piqued.
Uzu sent up signals to his own network of eyes in the Underground, limited now as they were, and kept his own personal track record of activities as he could while hiding everything else from ANBU. As far as the organization of Black OPS knew, Kana was nothing more than a party girl with three years of experience in getting down in the hardest part of town. To Toushin, she was someone who was possibly dabbling in black arts that only a handful of people were capable of doing. The assured fact that she didn’t have Tama’s hand in her off the book surgeries only further impressed him as that meant she had to deal with the same woman he did to reverse the mishandling of that certain mad scientist’s work. Getting Dr. Hoshi to agree to something took a lot of money and a good reason, and he could only wonder what it was she had done. Keeping full track of the Black Market, especially these days, was impossible, but he had noted certain blood-types being searched for through his contacts; just never the who. So when he looked down at the report that Nakamura Kana was finally resurfacing again after being gone from the public eye for awhile, it came as no surprise to the operative when the radio on the corner of his desk came to life screaming about someone tearing apart an old building. Before another ANBU could answer the call, spread thin as they were to start with, Toushin lifted the reciever off the large metal box and pushed down on the Open Mic button,
Stand down. I’ll handle it, keep on with your current duties,” Uzu’s rough and familiar voice spoke through into the earpieces. The only two responses he got sounded relieved and he doubted the rest didn’t want to share in the same obvious emotion the new recruits spoke out with. It was enough to know he wouldn’t be bothered, not that ever was an issue for him anyways. As of late, when Toushin reported he was going to handle something, the rest stepped aside.

Taking the long way out, Toushin left the Kazekage Tower and all but glided over the rooftops towards the Underground. Dressed in business casual, the old assassin quickly turned off the “Main Street” once he arrived and slowly moved through the back allies instead. Even as he walked through, clothed as a simple office worker, non of the addicts or casual murders dared to stand before the path his feet casually carried him. Everyone recognized the golden irises of their ex-king as he walked through the ruined kingdom he had once proudly called home. Even the young, generations he had no influence over, quickly moved out of his path.
From the back roads, it didn’t take overly long to find Kana. The destruction within the building was holding well enough the sound, but, not so much the force. The ground shook ever so slightly as the blows within struck more rapidly, and without hesitation the man drew blood from his thumb with his canine and quickly wrote a summoning seal on his right metal palm. Shifting through five simple seals, Toushin raised his hand to the air and released the molded chakra that ripped open a portal between two worlds to call out a gigantic creature of the night. A large blue-hued bat circled the area once before landing before the old king; chittering an insult as it did. Uzu only smirked before quickly climbing up to hold on to the giant’s back as it rose back up into the air towards the lightly shaking building.
Mere seconds and the assassin was high enough to release his hold on the bat and release it back to its world in a plume of smoke. Twisting as he fell, Toushin angled himself so that he broke right through one of the upper floor windows and rolled back up to his feet in a nonchalant manner. From there he simply followed the sounds until he found the walls and floor were being destroyed right before him. Slipping right into the chaos of Kana’s attack, the assassin used the flying rocks to dart his way down to the ground floor where he assumed she land before launching another attack. Keeping to the shadows as much as possible, the ANBU operative moved behind any large object that would obstruct both their views. He could sense out what he needed to know before making a move without need for vision as he crouched down and gently wiped away the dust of the floor. The assassin pressed his flesh palm against the bare floor, and waited to feel her weight return to the motionless floor.

Kana had a fire within her burning. An engulfing flame of rage from what she had lost as well as a passion to uncover the secrets of what lay before her. The young Uchiha’s lithe form was custom built to be airborne as if her frame weighed next to nothing but the strength packed into every fiber was tenfold. Knocking down a wall she would propel and eject herself off a piece of debris to collide with another. Pieces would scatter but her eyes picked up every fragment large and small. She strains as she pulls her sword back within two hands, a full arch of her body as she swings forward with all her might. Her two tiny hands would release the blade, the weight and pressure release from them and her skin noticeably goes from white to flush with color once again.

Swirling and spinning the blade would connect with the largest chunk shattering it to pieces then ricocheting off another to stick and slam directly into another. The stabbed piece of concrete plummeted downward with the blade still locked within. An assured kill now, as she would lock on mid-air. Her fingertips barely touched as she made sets of hand seals whirring through them at a rapid rate. Upon release of her chakra a single shuriken replicated into many. A single flick of her wrist and the projectiles were sent upon their target. The stone slab now covered in deadly rain as well as her large stone training sword buried directly in the middle. Target located and eliminated.

An extended hand and the capability to dive like a creature built for aerial combat made it possible for her to reach the safety of the structure before she hit the ground below. Gripping to hold onto a piece of stone her legs sprung inward gathering up momentum. In an instant she would backflip gracefully to the floor below, landing in a position that was still ready whilst eyeing her sword. Sweat was now pouring from the young kunoichi as she breathed heavily into the colder damp air of the underground. Her mind was fully focused on the combat as she was imagining and losing herself in it to train to her maximum potential. So, when the Anbu, a master of stealth and deception, came looking for the cause of the commotion within the area it was understandable that he would go unnoticed.

Even as she lands to the ground below her first thoughts are to process the battle. Where she could improve, be more precise, and be more deadly. Most important was that she breath and constantly scan the area. It was something she had mastered with her old eyes but now it was different. It would take some adjusting to truly begin to flesh out all of her new capabilities. If any, this was the proper time for Kana to be in full critique of how she performed. Reliving every breath, as well as the adrenaline coursing through her veins, and finely tuning the way she fought. The same way she finely tuned her body to be a masterpiece.

It was now though, that she finally began to sense something was amiss. The distant sounds of the riff raff had began to die down as if they had cleared out for someone or something. It was an immediate thought that it might be because of her training, though she doubted it. No, it was more likely that something was coming or that it was already here. Focusing the attention of her eyes to the world around her she would try to be prepared for what comes next.

Toushin felt the young female touch the ground. It was a light step among the thousands of falling rocks and metal, and spoke to the old killer volumes about his target. Young was his guess based on their level of destruction without restraint and the lightweight of their landing; muscles that weren’t fully trained yet, it whispered to his palm. As the sound of falling debris muffled out everything else he took a deep breath in through his nose as he removed the hand from the floor. Uzu tasted the dust, bits of broken metal floating with it, and the scent of teenage hormones wafting through everything else caused by a heavy sweat. Female, was his first guess based purely on the mellow sweet flavor he caught in the scent as most males tended to be sharp, but there was…something off. His guts told him that her scent was ‘abnormal’ in the same way that it told him Tama was ‘not to be trusted.’ In the old days this meant he needed to kill his emotions and help her shed the mortal coil. Being that she was busting up one of the three buildings that got rotated for the ANBU Headquarters to keep them anonymous, he was well within his rights to do so.
However, Toushin had dealt with ‘abnormal’ many times through his life. Rarely did reacting violently to those people helped more than it destroyed, and considering the information he had already on Kana, if it was indeed her, it would be paramount instead to turn her misguided search for strength into a boon for Sunagakure. As far as the old man could tell, the girl just needed a strong guiding hand before she turned into yet another monster he had to put down.

Unaware of her abilities he knocked against the stone he was hiding behind twice to alert her to his presence before quickly slipping through a few seals to pool chakra around his feet silently until it became a solid form of water. Squeezing the previously wounded thumb a bit of black blood welled up before dropping down into the pool below, turning the water into a viscous black glob of blood. His fingers once again slipped back together and continued to shift to mold chakra until the black glob at his feet thinned itself out and slipped beneath the rocks nearby; a precaution.
With a small defense set up, the operative slowly stepped out from behind the rock, his hands both metal and non were held up, palm out, to show his a peaceful stance in this first meeting. It was but a face, a lie, because in the back of his mind he was almost certain this was the creation of a mad scientist that needed to be put down. They were rare, but not unheard of. Just last year he had nearly strangled a certain scientist for creating and accidentally unleashing a virus that turned those infected by it into some lupine-based hybrid creature. Twelve people died that night and one got away but, fled into the desert were nothing that furry survived. Now he stood face to face with another powerful being created by the forbidden sciences; Uzu assumed.
The first thing he noticed about the girl shortly after stepping out was her eyes, and quickly shot his gaze to her lips. He didn’t quite understand the silvery glow beyond, but the tomoe he’d have to be a fool not to catch; Uchiha blood stood before him in some manner or another. Now he couldn’t help but wonder if she was just a genius who had awakened gifts without catching the notice of ANBU, but the old killer trusted his gut; his guard remained high.

Nakamura Kana, you’re destroying Sunagakure Government property. By law of the Kazekage I ask that you cease in this reckless behavior or, suffer. We can either leave in handcuffs or a body bag.” The threat was made casually, without sounding threatening at all, but the assassin didn’t hide his killing intent from slipping out a little either. Hopefully it cowed the dangerous teen pride enough for her to comply until they could get away from the building; there were more eyes and ears than Uzu cared for here.

Two taps. A simple warning that an enemy would not have given. This simple act caused Kana to lower her guard even if just a bit. Her eyes would immediately peer in the direction of the stone slab. Vision was a gift that she possessed, and so the shinobi's attempt to hide chakra within the wall would be easily noticed. Though she couldn't blame him, it's something she would do herself before approaching the unknown. The person stepping out from behind the rubble was intelligent, if nothing else. As the man revealed himself her immediate caution did not fade. Her right arm would swiftly move along her backside, and her nimble fingers would quickly wrap around the handle of her real weapon. The man paused to look at her as if reading into her soul before he spoke a single word. It was obvious that the girl was on edge. What was this? Most teased or tormented the young Nakamura, though this felt different. He was not approaching her with the sinister grin most children her age did. In fact, the look on the face of the older shinobi was quite serious. It was an expression she was not as familiar with.

The intent of the man would not be hidden for long though as his lips moved and the words would strike down into her being. Destroying property? The law of Kazekage? Was she really in trouble for destroying a building that was already far past the point of being condemned? The man spoke with an air of seniority, and Kana was never one to fight the authority above. Simply based off the way he spoke, she knew that the Shinobi out-ranked her. Though she was hoping it was obvious she posed no threat as she wore her Suna colors and emblems proudly. An immediate wave of uncertainty rolled through her, and she wondered if the village had found out about the experiments. No, that would be incredibly unlikely as she payed all the right people. However, the thought simply could not escape her mind. He knew her name, why would he know that if he wasn't looking for her in particular?

Inhaling her lower lip she would gnaw on it softly before changing her stance. The hand would remove itself from her blade as well as her posture returning to full form. Pushing herself up into a standing position, her own two hands opening and showing themselves in a defeatist position.

"I mean no harm to Sunagakure. I'm a warrior for the village, and was simply training to improve my combat prowess. I apologize for the destruction. If there is some cost to what I've destroyed, I will happily attempt to make amends."

A cold sweat began to form near the top of her forehead, she was beginning to get nervous. She was finally beginning to see hope for the future, and now it seemed the whole world was crashing down around her. Adrenaline began to course through her body once more and she struggled to slow her breathing in an attempt to keep a cool head. Kana would take a single step forward with both her hands now placed together at the wrist.

"I'd much rather go in handcuffs. If this 'crime' I've committed can't be resolved I'll face whatever punishment I may have coming to me."

She tried her best to be mature in this situation even though her instincts were running in a hundred different directions. Pieces of her were telling her to flee and others to fight. The resounding logical answer was to figure out what this was truly about. What the village potentially knew, and if they deemed her a threat. If that was the case, then she could always run or fight when the time was right. This, was not the right time. More information had be obtained first.

Toushin’s flesh palm turned into a single seal, and a jolt of chakra released the blood hiding beneath the boulders at the sign of Kana’s peaceful surrender. It became water once more that simply evaporated into the air as he listened to the youth trying to explain herself, but his held up hands quickly turned into a single index finger that he pressed to his lips. If she wasn’t an Uchiha he would of looked her in the eyes to convey his message - she needed to be quiet. The assassin quickly closed the gap between them and ignored the assault of adrenaline and fear that was now emitting from the youth, fully betraying her age to the man as he reached behind his back to produce black metal cuffs. Uzu snatched Kana’s wrist and with a quick jerk spun her body so that her back was facing him before reaching forward to grab the other wrist and hold it next to the one he held as he applied the black iron cuffs. With a quick seal a symbol on the cuffs lit up and tightened to hold down on her wrists in an uncomfortable manner. Tying a bit of wire to a metal loop on the cuffs he pointed his hand next to her left peripheral and with a grunt said,
Walk. Quickly.

Uzu lead the young Chimera out of the building through a back entrance without saying a word and continued his stoic silence as he marched her down the back alleys for at least five to six blocks. Any time she started to speak he would simply make a curt hissing sound with his lips and tongue to keep her silent until the duo were nearly a whole mile away from the building she had trashed. They stopped suddenly in the middle of an ally behind a bar where there were multiple people doing a number of illicit things. Heavy bass tones shook the building and the street they stood on as Toushin turned to look at the wall of the building opposite. He reached up to pet the stones, clearly looking for a hidden switch. When he finally found it he could feel the eyes of at least three of the drunkards settled on him, and another set that was pretending not to watch. The old assassin turned his neck to look behind him with a deadly glace, and immediately felt all eyes turn away as he pushed in a piece of brick that was shoved aside into a little hollow to reveal a simple on/off switch. Once flicked on the wall before them rolled back to reveal a black corridor that slowly lit itself up with overhead florescence. Tugging the wire for Kana to follow, the bricks reformed into a wall the moment she passed the threshold as if by some kind of reverse chakra trap. It was only after the bricks closed behind did Uzu finally speak again,
Before you jump to conclusions, you are not under arrest. In fact,” without a sound or seal from Uzu, the cuffs suddenly sprung off the youth’s wrists, “I free you. You were destroying a building we use for hidden operations here in the Underground, but that’s really the least of your worries. We have much to discuss, to which at the end of I will make you an offer, so please follow me.

Toushin lead the girl, were she so willing to follow the mysterious operative into his secret tunnel, towards a small room that was lit by a single lamp that gently swayed from the breeze of an air conditioner. What light it shined revealed what appeared to be a really old laboratory. Dust covered experiments in jars of viscous liquid were scattered all over a counter on one wall and no doubt inside of the cabinets above as well. The assassin walked over to a desk stationed directly beneath the lone lamp, one that seemed to be the only clean spot in entire lab. With simplicity the old rogue pulled out his leather seat and sat down in the chair behind the desk before making a motion for Kana to do the same. Her chair was a simple wooden chair opposite of him. As she did, carefully watching the Chimera’s every move as he waited for the youth to sit, Uzu started his offer,
I have kept a personal eye on you for some time now, away from ANBU. Reports on the shinobi of the village rarely pique my interests, but when they go out of their way to spend an inherited fortune in the Underground, well, I must know. “Little Rats”, I like to call them. Children of my spies of an old age passed that still owe their loyalty to me…they don’t miss much.
Now,” Uzu said as he leaned back into his much nicer leather chair, “I have evidence of you breaking a number of Suna’s Laws, but of course non of them warrant much beyond some prison time…except…” the assassin reached into the front pocket of his white button down and slipped out a folded piece of paper. Unfolding it he tossed it into the air and it floated perfectly across the desk to land before of the kunoichi. On it were the revealed names of the people she had worked with to get a hold of the body parts fused within her now.
You may not be aware of this, but by Suna Law, “Body Trading”, is considered an executable offense. A lot of cracking down went into it before the war started and we had nearly stopped it all together. Now, it is once again a problem. However, this is where you, come into all of this,” Uzu said slowly as he leaned forward with his elbows propped on the desk, “If you were to…say, remove the problem yourself, then I think I could overlook your transgressions. Perhaps, even offer you a full-time job to use with those new abilities, should you be successful.
The older man suddenly rocked back again, away from the desk, his face shadowing slightly as it did,
Or you can suffer the courts. The Takahashi, servant family to the Kazekage, don’t take well to Body Trading. No one who has been caught in the trade ever suffered less than death, but, with your vast fortunes I’m sure you have enough left to hire a good lawyer…

The assassin knew she didn’t. From every report he had collected, Kana had all but spent everything in the attempt to forge her body into a living weapon, but, now someone was offering her the chance to use it. All she had to do was take the list and kill those same people she had bought the body parts from. It didn’t matter if she did it secretly or not, she was within the military ranks and those people she would lay down to eternally rest would be seen guilty by the courts long before they saw Kana’s blatant murders a problem. With those people gravely silent, they couldn’t speak up either and hold anything over her head. She could be everything he needed in a soldier right now, and if she was capable, he would train the youth himself.

He waited, quiet as a shadow for her response.

The older Shinobi acted quickly, and his first act was to lower his guard. A potential mistake if she wasn't sincere in her surrender. Though it did act as a measure of good faith as the man approached clinging her into steel cuffs. The wire would tighten and cause her a bit of discomfort as her wrists were jammed into a position where hand seals were made impossible. A signal for her to remain quiet put the young Uchiha on edge. What were they hiding from? If this man was who he said and was acting on behalf of the village, then who was he afraid of finding out what was going on here? All of this began to make less and less sense as Kana began to think through the situation. A sense of dread began to fill the young girl as she feared for the worst. Perhaps this was meant to be an execution instead of an arrest. With a soft nudge at her back she was told to walk quickly, so she did. It took the young girl twice as many steps to cover the same distance as the man but she managed to keep up with no issue.

Now a prisoner, she would do as she was beckoned and continued through the dark and dusky alleyways. At one point she did wish to ask a question, or perhaps a few but was summarily shushed, and so she would remain quiet until told to speak. Rounding buildings and eventually locating the secret entrance that the man was intent on bringing them to. All the while curiosity was beginning to build in the young girl. Curiosity and a sense of dread. A dark corridor lay before her now and she would take silent steps forward to follow her captor. As soon as she was inside the wall seemed to shift and lock behind her. Her best guess was if an execution were to take place, it would be here. Eyeing the walls around and trying to get a feel for the purpose of this place. The first, and best guess, is that this is an interrogation room. Likely meant for those with vast and deep secrets. Secrets that they wouldn't want to tell, and walls thick enough so that they're never heard again.

So it would be of great surprise to Kana that upon entering this dim lit and obvious place of holding that he would release her bindings, and inform her that she wasn't under arrest at all. In fact, they had much to discuss? What was this. Fear and adrenaline was now beginning to be replaced by an immense amount of curiosity. The girl would sit as directed atop the small uncomfortable wooden chair. Tiny fingers would clasp together as she sat while staring intently at the Shinobi before her, attempting to garner whatever information she could. The young girl would not speak a single word until the man was done.

Threats. A lot of them very bold, and none of them empty. She would seemingly ignore most of the threats, realizing that she was being forced into this position whether she like it or not. Though she was silently hoping that the man before her was one of the 'good guys'. Tactics like this must be taken to root out true evil after all.

"Before I agree to anything. I have to ask, who are you? You're obviously a very high ranking village official, yet I've never heard of you or seen you before. That immediately paints you as Anbu yourself. Yet... we're hiding from them? Why?"

At this point, she would begin looking over the papers that had been carefully tossed her way. All of the accusations that the man placed at her were absolutely true and it seemed he had more than enough evidence to back it up. Though why was he offering her a chance at redemption? A chance to push these people into the ground and solidify the fact that no more evidence would ever come out about her. All of this was leading to some sort of penultimate question that Kana would eventually ask of him.

"So, you wish for me to bury any whom have knowledge of my indiscretions. I can do that, and it was already a thought that was beginning to cross my mind as a necessity. You being able to gather this evidence against me would make it of paramount importance. After all, if you can gain this information, the possibility for others to obtain it is also likely."

The man knew that her fortune had been dwindled to nothing, that was the point of the jab toward her affording a lawyer and she knew it. Though she was beginning to have a feeling that there was far more to this. Was this man looking out for her, or for his own interests? Perhaps the two things were one in the same. So, she would be blunt at this point, and ask the question that she had been holding back.

"Why can't you trust the Anbu around you? It's obvious that you wanted the upper hand in this conversation so you could garner what you actually want from me. If you wanted me dead or in prison then turning over the evidence you've obtained would be enough. There is something more you're not telling me. You say I could have a full-time job if I succeed, and yet want no ties to the crime yourself. I think you're aware that I'm going to agree to do what you ask. So now, I'll ask, what is in it for me? What does this future job entail? What benefit does this garner for you? Because there's no way you'd be taking this risk unless I was worth the possible outcome."

Toushin’s face darkened further at the questions, though not due to the lack of light. He hated questions, and especially coming from someone that had set themselves up so deep into a hole. He figured offering the helping hand at all would of been enough motivation to chomp at the bit, so to speak, but the girl was proving to as tirelessly intelligent as his own spawn. A decade ago the assassin would have immediately rescinded the offer without offering any recompose. Age, though, had blunted the assassin’s natural born fury. He had tasted the repercussions of pushing people in need away too many times to do it now; especially when so much hinged on Kana’s agreement.

Uzumoreru Toushin,” the older gentleman replied slowly knowing his name still carried weight in the Underground but unaware how much she knew of his dead evil clan, “and my position is of little importance. All you need know on that front, is that I have the power to filter what information is available, but not the power of control. In the first year of working under the government contracted through ANBU, I learned of a great deal of corruption. Men and women who were using their position to enrich their wealth, curb policing on organized crime, and even had their hands dipped into the worst parts of the Black Market. As a single man, I have only managed to clear out a third of the corruption before elevating myself into an untouchable position through blackmail - now I have hit a wall.
I can no longer physically act without being heavily monitored. I can only do my job and limit the information to those who would use it for ill gains. One such bit of information, was you. Had I not intervened you would be in this exact same situation, long before your surgery, but under their scrutiny. No doubt they would have used you as an expendable pawn, but I hid documents, and changed things were I needed, to keep you secret. Now the time is ripe. You’re out of surgery attempting to regain strength and I assume master your change - and I need someone off the books. However, before I can say your trustworthy, before I can indict you into this plot to clean the Underground as my rival could not…I want you to kill every last person on that list except the last five,” Uzu smirked at the vauge though just ever so slightly, know how much money he had spent on that doctor, “They, wouldn’t talk under torture. Dr. Hoshi is a very careful person.

Now the information was on the table. For the first time he was trying to indict an operative under his wing with full knowledge of what they were getting into. Uzu had never even been this honest, not even with his own daughter, but, these were the cards on the table. He knew through his new position of “semi-retirement” anything he did on the books was recorded heavily, for insurance purposes. This? As far as the people who watched him were concerned, he was just putting down a small threat out of boredom. In fact, he would make sure Kana would leave from another entrance in order to to further facilitate this. Only the Kami knew where the other entrance lead out of, as Tama was the one who had built these secret labs ages ago, but it would shake his watchers. Now all he needed was Kana to agree and a plan years in the making would take its first steps by eliminating slavers Takahashi Sousuke had worked so hard to be rid of in the first place. From slavers, to corruption in the government, to leadership…a dream was near Toushin’s grasp…

She felt the air get sucked out of the room as quickly as a mouse running from a cat when she began to speak. Apparently she had hit some tender areas, and the man who was looking to have the upper hand had lost a bit of his footing. Perhaps he hadn't thought she would be so keen as to pick up on what she did, or perhaps he simply hoped that would be the case. In her mind she knew that the man needed her for something, and it best to play her cards as such. Now, she had a name. A name she had heard before during some of her lessons, though the exact details fade from memory. With this recent encounter though, she'd likely go and attempt to procure more information about this shinobi she was now seemingly going to be working with. Kana knew precisely of the corruption in which this man spoke, it was the same corruption she used and abused to get to where she currently is today. Intent eyes would search the paper for every name that she now had to cross off. Taking a pen, she would add a few more.

"These are two Anbu I dealt with and these three are Traders I did not purchase from them but did view their wares. For the Anbu, I only know their code names, but they'll be eliminated as well. The doctor I'll allow to live, but his staff has to go. I may have been a bit loose with my tongue while heavily sedated after the surgery. Uncertainty of what was said is enough reason to ensure security in this matter. If you say that the doctor must live, then I shall let him live. Though I'm sure he'll understand what has happened around him, and that if he gets loose lips that he won't be long for this world."

The young Uchiha would stand at this point and give one final glance back to Toushin in hopes that he would point at the direction for her exit. Taking the paper with the names balled in her hand she would apply enough force to crumple the information to dust. She knew who her targets were and was already beginning to plot their destruction in her mind.

"I'll be the reckoning that you cannot. I'll make waves, and yet remain unknown. When I'm trustworthy to you then you can include me in on more. I'm at your mercy for the information you have on me, but I can already sense this was done out of necessity to further your own goals. Hopefully you can consider me a partner soon enough. I have a sense that you only want what is best for this village. At least, that's where my allegiances lie. Though I think you already knew that."

Being shown the way out through another secret passageway she would make her way from this meeting with lots on her mind, and lots to do.

Toushin continued to sit back in his chair as Kana looked at the list, added two names, and made her declaration. The old assassin didn’t catch the names written down but knew a few that were corrupt but couldn’t be touched without repercussions; and he didn’t ask either. For him this situation was now exactly how he wanted it - out of his hands. If members of ANBU dropped like flies because they chose to use their power for ill-gains, that was karma on them as far as Uzu was concerned; the girl before him would either fail or succeed. Once she was ready to leave the operative stood up and walked back to the seemingly dead-end wall behind his chair and simply pushed on it. With a groan, hinges cried as they were forced to work for the first time in years. There were no overhead lights guiding people out of this tunnel.

Once you are done, you can contact me through channel 8-8-1-8. It’s a private channel with low reception I open up for meetings. Just keep scanning for it until you get a low-white noise in your ear piece. I’ll be inside the building where your headset picks up. Good luck.” The door closed as soon as Kana walked through. The assassin looked at the wall in silence for a moment as his brained raced with hundreds of potential orders he’d need to put in to ensure the femme fatale would have a clear few nights. It didn’t take much to have his rats move around enough things to leave tiny gaps in security for a would be assassin to find. A genuine smile slipped to his lips for a moment…

He had truly missed being a spy master.

Reaching into one of the many dust covered cabinets, Toushin grabbed a bottle of red fluid marked with the strange label, “female clone hemoglobin”, and smashed it against his chest. The viscous red fluids quickly soaked into his white-button down shirt and down into the pants of his legs making it look like he had viciously murdered someone or something. Opening again the original secret entrance, the ne’re do wells waiting for Uzu to reappear quickly scattered at the sight of the bloodied gentleman’s blouse. An operative whom had the dangerous mission of watching Uzu’s actions from a distance was heavily scratching down on a piece of paper. There would be an investigation tomorrow over where he was, questions of his actions of seemingly killing a Genin over such a mild transgression; all of which the controversial assassin would simply quote his immunity to the courts from such scrutiny. He would explain that his actions were for the betterment of Sunagakure and that he had put down a rogue ready to turn on them, and nothing further needed to be investigated. Sousuke would hate this, further investigations, and would no doubt come up flat without a body. They would only discover whatever horrible abomination Tama was trying to create in that lab some twenty years ago. The investigation and results should stir up enough to keep Kana under the radar so long as she played the game right from her end.

Tucking his hands in blood-soaked pockets, the assassin strolled back through the allies towards his home in the Diamond District.
