Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Current Profile:
Name: Toshiwakai Kagari
Age: 16
Rank: Genin/Secret ANBU In Training
Purpose: Finding His Heritage.

He had been searching the area for days, scanning the surroundings; trying to walk around the homes of the rich and famous without drawing too much attention. Unfortunately, despite having a ninja headband on hand doesn't mean much to the local security guards in the area. They'll shoo you away if you even breath on some of the garden decorations amidst the homes. They also don't hand out directories even if you asked, you'd get a suspicious look and a warning. He tried asking for directions, but some would snobbishly ignore the teen, walking off without even giving a proper greeting. Maybe it was customary for the wealthy to be stereotypically snooty. It didn't bother the teen; it just meant more walking. What was he searching for? He didn't belong in this gaudy place; his home was in the opposite direction; in the crowded ghettos of Grand Palais. But, he was determined to find the coldest clan in Suna; the Haku's.

The Haku Clan is known for its member's prowess in using Ice Elemental Ninjutsu. While others may be able to use Ice Ninjutsu after years of practice with water and wind elements; gifted descendants of the Haku family use ice naturally. They also all seem to look very effeminate, technically a "gift" on who you ask. With their innate talents with ice, it makes them crucial during the summer months of Suna when drought and the lack of rain can begin to take it's toll on the populace. Luckily, the Haku's are there to provide assistance when needed. But the clan itself is very distant, or at least in the teen's experience. The had written or searched for branch members related to the family for guidance because....He can control ice himself.

Kagari had recently discovered his proficiency in ice ninjutsu, something that came to him naturally. He had been learning on his own on how to control it, how to take advantage of his newfound gift. Although his rigorous training has helped, he had been looking for experts in Suna that could help him. So, he found himself in the Diamond District looking for a distant clan who probably didn't want to teach anyone their secrets. But despite knowing that, Kagari was determined. He had felt something inside him, calling him to search for this clan. He may not have known it yet, but he was a descendant of the clan. If not then why else could he use ice so naturally? As he passed mansion by mansion, compound by compound; he looked high and low for the clan.

It was night time, his preferred time of any time. He was a night person, which wasn't at all surprising considering his talents and specialties. He was out on a stroll, or more like a patrol, he had property in the area but he wasn't there at that moment to be at home, rather to defend the location on duty. This was his current post as per the ANBU work sheets, and while he didn't have an issue being so far away from the action, he did have issue with not being close to those in true power, as gathering Intel was a deep part of why he still maintained position within them. As he reflected on such things and considered next moves and counter moves, he heard a somewhat disturbing noise. It sounded as though someone had come into the diamond district who didn't belong, being loud and asking questions. People nearby where peeking through windows, opening their doors to look. Perhaps they were scared it was another cabal situation, perhaps they had no excitement in their lives and needed a gander at something, or perhaps they were just nosey. Either way, he'd head toward the noise, as it was his job to do so.

What he found was underwhelming, a small boy asking questions and looking around. He seemed lost, out of his element, and frustrated. Engimaru watched him for a while, sticking to the shadows and using his own finely honed talents to remain hidden, there was no real reason for an ANBU to intervene in such a small matter as someone figuring out where they need to go, though the guards not helping did somewhat disturb him, as he was a child. They would have treated the kid better if he had money, that was for sure. Thus was the way this area, and people, worked on a large scale. So, he decided to follow the boy as he moved around. It was a study more than anything, but he also had a slight curiosity as to where the boy was going and if he'd ever get there. Keeping him safe was a priority, but as of now he was just a kid lost, and was in no real peril for someone wielding a headband of Sunagakure.

It had felt like he was walking in circles. Each mansion had started to blend in with each other. A fountain there, a marble statue there, and the occasional wall of hedges to block any onlookers. Maybe he should have looked up family crests before he went blindly searching for the Haku household. As he got to one of the nearby parks, he took a seat on one of the benches. Sitting back, he closed his eyes as he thought of what next to do. "Should I make another trip down Bellview? Nah, those houses are too small for a large household. Maybe I should try to go down Paragon park." The teen took out a thermos filled with water and began to drink from it. "Maybe the rich atmosphere is making the water taste different..." The cold water felt pleasurable as he wiped his mouth clean of any drool. He put the thermos down next to him and took out a notebook, inside was a hastily drawn map he put together because of the lack of a public directory. He had marked each street and pavement he visited, jotting down any information he had gathered the past few days.

Absorbed into his notebook, he hadn't noticed footsteps that began to pass by him. A young nobleman plus an entourage of guards began to shuffle past Kagari. The noble didn't look too much older than Kagari, maybe around the same age. He had around his waist, along with his "group" a rapier. Why he needed it in one of the most guarded districts in Suna was unknown, probably as a stamp of honor. The man paid no attention to the teen, nor his party as they were about to pass him. The nobleman turned his head slightly, smirked as he walked. Speaking out loud to the party, he made intention clear. "They let anyone in the Diamond District don't they." The blonde spoke. The group laughed loudly, at the blonde's joke. Kagari, of course, heard this, didn't flinch as his eyes were still focused on his notebook. "Yeah. Like your mother lets in anyone when you supply the right drink." The blonde froze in place, his party too was dumbstruck by the remark that this kid gave them! One of the four men following the noble immediately turned on his heels and headed straight for Kagari.

"Hey! Do you know who you're talking to? This is Leo Winford! His family has been in Suna for generations, and you disgrace-"

"Yeah yeah, you're nobles. I'm trash blah blah. I'm so rich and powerful, and I come from this family that built this and blah" Kagari did his best worst impression of much of the nobles around here. He was still looking at his notebook during the duration of his flamboyant impression, letting his hand do most of the impersonation. "Look I've heard this spiel from a number of people the past few days, and I don't care. Just be on your way doing whatever rich assholes do and pretend I wasn't even here." Kagari waved the man off as he was busy making notes. Of course, the man nor the rest of the group didn't like what he heard one bit. He grabbed Kagari's notebook and threw it aside.

"You better show some respect kid. This ain't the ghettos-"

"I only show respect to those who show me respect. Isn't that some code of honor amongst the rich and famous?" Kagari looked towards the blonde man, who still hadn't turned around yet, still standing in place.

"You will address him as Lord Leo-" One of the men spoke.

"Look I'm very busy okay? You can take it up with someone who cares." Kagari got up from his seat and reached down for his notebook when he felt his arm being yanked away.

"I don't think you understand."

"I don't think you do." Kagari's attitude changed from uncaring to aggression real quick. He didn't like being pushed around by anybody, especially yes-men to some rich asshat. Speaking of which, Leo the nobleman finally turned around and clapped his hands. "Boys boys, we don't need to settle this with violence. Especially someone of his nature."

"if that's your way of saying "let's not fight, this is beneath us," that was kind of passive aggressive for someone with a sword attached to their hip. Unless that's for show?"

"Pft, my fencing skills are quite accomplished mind you. I could poke holes in you before you could even take two steps."

Kagari raised an eyebrow. 'Is this guy serious?' Did men like him exist in the world, so arrogant and dickish that they just ooze egotism?

OOC: I'll leave it at here for now to see if you want to intervene or not. It's up to you.

At this point engimaru was perched in one place, up high, watching the boy circle the same block once or twice too many. It wasn't long before frustration set in and he took a seat in a nearby park. It always amazed him they had a park in an underground area, but it seemed fitting, to bring some of the world they wish they had in to a world they were forced to live in, such was the way of things! He would pull out a notebook and open it, to what appeared to be a map of the area. He snuck closer, interested in the quality of the map. His ANBU training would have identified this as a threat, someone walking around all hours of the night acting innocent and lost, creating a map. An anbuy would see that as a guide for easy to hit terrorist locations. However, he had been watching for some time so he had made a decent assessment that this boy wasn't here for that. Considering the places he had been where a far stretch from anywhere important, but most of the places in this district lost a lot of strategic value as people moved to the surface, they taking their money into the light. A few purists remained though, perhaps they were afraid they'd fall into the sky. Either way, it wasn't long before a noble out for a walk decided to make trouble, simply cause he could. It was most certainly a sociopathic trait that came with money, or privilege. If he hadn't been trained and kept down to earth growing up, he would be the same way. He got closer as they exchanged words, but he wasn't going to intervene, not yet!

Until the boy was touched, then it fell in his jurisdiction of protecting civilians...

A shadow moved across the dark park un-noticed, winding up and under the noble kids feet. It would quickly expand outward, swallowing their feet in a very large pool of what appeared to be black shadow and nothing. If they didn't touch the bottom, they'd just assume they were about to be sucked into an abyss. From the center of the pool, a mound of shadow arose and took the shape of a man. It billowed off of him, and cascaded to the ground disappearing harmlessly into the air as it did, seemingly endlessly so. His hair was visible, short and black, but his face was obscured by a solid white mask with a smiley face drawn on it, terrible imagery to be sure. The entrance itself was enough to shake the hearts of nobles. His voice, obfuscated by whatever he was doing to make himself look so imposing, spoke in a commanding, but ultimately dull tone.

"I suggest you go home, or I throw you into the prison for assaulting an unarmed civilian. Choose wisely..." he said as shadow tendrils formed around the edge of the pool, wiggling about in the night air.
OOC: There you go! Imagine the mask whole though, not a popular character, was hard to find a good picture =D

"Yeah! He'd probably turn you into a kebab ya dumbass! Apologize now before we properly teach you some manners!" One of the gruffer men said, clearly still intent on forcing Kagari to swallow his words. Kagari rolled his eyes at the current situation; he was surprised the had gotten himself involved in all this. It was starting to get annoying; maybe he should have just said nothing and let them walk by after they insulted him. Unfortunately, Kagari's pride got the better of him. He didn't like it when random people would insult him with no context whatsoever. Also for a guy who claims to be a noble, he sure as hell doesn't act like a knight in shining armor. Chivalry is truly dead. "Well, are you going to apologize for insulting me worm?" The man crossed his arms and had that arrogant smirk written all over his face. One of his henchmen were still holding Kagari, just glared at the man. 'I could just beat the crap out of these guys...I'll probably get a complaint, and Tenken will hear about it and scold me for not wearing my mask...' Kagari sighed, unsure of what to do. He could punch his way out of this, completely destroy whatever pride this "Leo Winford" had. But, they'd probably take it up with shinobi corps. They would hear about some random Genin get into fights with one of the darling wealthy kids and Kagari would get a suspension or worse, a stern talking to by one of the Jounin. He could just swallow his pride and apologize, but Kagari would hate himself for taking the high road for the sake of appeasing these assholes. They needed to be taken down a step, show them who runs Suna. 'What to do...what to do.' Kagari thought.

Fortunately, someone else made a decision for him. Kagari noticed a black pool gather around the blonde Noble; it looked like he would sink into it if it had a bottom. The dark pool began to grow larger and larger until a figure rose from it and began to form into the shape of a man. "What...what the hell is this?!" The nobleman's calm composure immediately melted as he took several steps back. He missed a step and fell backward onto his ass which made Kagari chuckle a bit.The men surrounding Kagari froze in place as well. Finally, the figure was "human" now. HIs short black hair visible and face covered entirely by a mask. If he was trying to scare the noble, this guy succeeded whoever he was. His voice, low disguised spoke in a commanding tone, "I suggest you go home, or I throw you into the prison for assaulting an unarmed civilian. Choose wisely..."

The Proud Lord Leo Winford was stunned, how dare someone sneak up on him like that! He got up slowly, dusted the dirt off his pompous clothes and began to speak. "Hmph, we didn't even lay a finger on him." He began to point at Kagari. "That boy insulted my name and my pride, and I demanded him as a gentleman to apologize." Technically true, but the young lord twisted the story. Typical nobles... Kagari once again rolled his eyes and responded, "Well, if we're going by your rules. I believe you said, "They let anyone into The Diamond District these Days." So you insult me first technically...But hey that's what I heard."

The nobleman "tsked" at Kagari's response. The boy annoyed him with his candid words, how he followed up with a response that cut right into his pride. But he was wise enough to see the situation had gotten out of hand, a shinobi; an ANBU most likely warned him not to press this any further. This had gone on too long, and he didn't have the time for this, but he wouldn't apologize. He'd just wait for another opportune moment to get back at the teen. He turned around and motioned for his henchman to let go of Kagari's arm. The men pushed Kagari aside and returned like good dogs to their master and just glared at both the shadow man and the teen. "I won't forget this." The nobleman continued down the pathway and turned a corner, disappearing into the night.

Kagari breathed a sigh of relief, an annoying situation avoided. He went to pick up his notebook and observed the shadow man. 'A mask...disguised voice...creepy ninjutsu. He's ANBU alright...Probably my senior.' As he picked up his notebook and placed it into his pocket, he walked towards the man. " Thanks, senpai, you helped me out of a bind. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to...deal with this myself."

"What...what the hell is this?!"

The boy backed down very hard when the ANBU made himself known. For all intents and purposes, his entrance had made quite the splash, which was a humor that would be lost on the reader unless they knew he had used water pool with his shadow modifier. Alas, they exchanged blamed as kids do, but he knew what was happening the whole time, because he was watching at a safe distance. It was always nice seeing people squirm when they got in trouble, showed who were cowards when it came down to it.

"I won't forget this."

"Neither will I..."

His voice, distorted and scary to bring home the point that he had all the power. This boy, unhidden and with all his features on display, against a fully cloaked ANBU with no ties to anyone here. At least, to their knowledge that is, truthfully he was one of the elite, had a mansion somewhere here, and could probably buy out everyone around him.

" Thanks, senpai, you helped me out of a bind. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to...deal with this myself."

"It's not about being about to deal with it. It's about who's more right. You could have started that fight with that boy, I would have let you...but it would have made you the wrong party and I'd be here for you instead. Can I help you get to where you need to be?"

He had been observing the boy, noticing his movements, He was trained somewhat, kept a cool and calm demeanor, could have been all over the rich kid in no time flat, or at the very least delayed becoming a pin cushion. The boy needed more time to figure out his own strengths and weaknesses, that was for sure.

Kagari nodded; while Winford's posse of tough guys was roughing him up; they would have been seen as the victims if Kagari had started the fight. His hunch was right; there could have been some unforeseen circumstances down the road if Kagari got into some conflict with a noble family. Still, the Winford heir made a threat; but he can't do anything right now since an ANBU was here. It was really funny how easily Leo was intimidated, despite the private police force that patrols the area; the shinobi still have a presence in the area. Well then again the whole "appearing out of a black void" trick worked. Kagari smirked when he thought of the Winford heir going home and crying to his parents to have them take action against the shinobi. How Childish.

It was surprising that this guy came out of nowhere, though. 'Has he been watching me the whole time?' Kagari was curious about the masked man; his sudden appearance was all too convenient. Kagari brushed it off, this guy helped him out of a bind and may know the area. Kagari wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. Now that the whole noble scuffle had been sorted out, Kagari could go back to what he was doing previously.

"Yeah, I'm looking for a household. The Haku clan, do they have a mansion or a home here in the Diamond District?"

Notes:
Sorry for short post, although I think it'll probably continue to be short since now it's mostly conversation stuff.

"Yeah, I'm looking for a household. The Haku clan, do they have a mansion or a home here in the Diamond District?"

"Ah, the Haku. I can see the resemblance. I imagine you have an affinity for the ice and cold then? May I get a demonstration, as to not lead anyone untoward to their front door. You understand, I hope." he said, expecting a jutsu he knew only a Haku could do, ice needles or some such. He really just wanted to see the breadth of ability the boy possessed. He could be a valuable tool for him later on down the line. Nobody was aware that he was plotting some stuff, but then again he was ANBU, most times ANBU didn't even know what other ANBU where up to. Compartmentalization they call it, a cheap word for keeping to yourself for security reasons. He would await the demonstration, hoping it was a grand display, but if not it was ok, he could grow...he would make the boy grow.
OOC: Yeah, short post time! XD

"Ah, the Haku. I can see the resemblance. I imagine you have an affinity for the ice and cold then? May I get a demonstration, as to not lead anyone untoward to their front door. You understand, I hope."

"Sure, I guess," Kagari shrugged. He put away his notebook into one of his pockets and began to walk over to an empty spot in the park. He looked around momentarily for a target and spotted a nearby tree. He took a water bottle and sprayed some of its contents in the air. He began to channel chakra into his hands, drawing the water in the air and it began to form a spear made out of ice. (Frozen Spear Rank 1) Taking the newly formed spear, he drew back his arm and threw it at the tree. The frozen spear flew in the air and landed on its target. While it didn't go through the tree, it definitely pierced the bark. Walking up to it, Kagari inspected the damage and whistled. He looked up to the observer and smiled, pointing to the spear:

"Is this good enough?"

"Sure, I guess,"

He flipped a water bottle open and made a spear of ice, tossing it at a tree. The impact left a lot to be desired, but he seemed new to it, so that wasn't a huge thing. He would be useful in the future though, so he'd plant the seeds of friendship for further need later. He'd walk up and inspect the bark itself as well, seeing that it chipped the bark away but there was no real penetration, a shame. He rubbed the chin on his mask and made a hmmm noise. He spun with flourish, his loose black coat picking up in the wind caused by it in a overly dramatic fashion.

"Is this good enough?"

"You've displayed a jutsu known to the clan Haku, but in the future I suggest concentrating on forming a sharp edge before the rest of the body of the attack, instead of just forming everything at once. This is advice from a jutsu manipulation standpoint. You can get much more damage from it with a meticulously formed edge, even if the body is clunky." he said, waving him on as he began to walk out of the park and down the street. He'd take a right at a fork, and continue moving. The Haku would notice he was becoming more comfortable the closer they got, as the air began to cool. He walked a couple of blocks down and took a left before continuing on, the boy would realize he was way off target where he expected the housing to be. Then it all became clear as they rounded the next corner and the temperature had dropped to what could be best described as a warm winter night. They had greenery in their front lawn, shrubs and everything that you would expect of a fancy clan house, but it all had a sheet of frost over it, like early morning but all the time.

"You Haku are well known to bring the temp down around you, whether or not you mean to. You get enough together and well, you see. This is where we part ways I think, get in there, get stronger, and I'll see you again so you can teach me some of those fancy ice tricks so make sure you learn a lot!" he held his hand out for a shake, before turning and walking away, a shadow enveloping the boys vision and he disappearing off to continue his duty.

The masked man walked up to the tree embedded with the newly formed ice spear. He took a closer look at it and was deep in thought, before spinning around like a dancer with the wind blowing behind him to add a bit "drama." Kagari sweatdropped, the masked man was a bit of a show-off. "You've displayed a Jutsu known to the clan Haku, but in the future I suggest concentrating on forming a sharp edge before the rest of the body of the attack, instead of just forming everything at once. This is advice from a Jutsu manipulation standpoint. You can get much more damage from it with a meticulously shaped edge, even if the body is clunky." Kagari took a closer look, he was sure earlier that he had pierced the tree. It was stuck in it, but it didn't look like it did much damage. Kagari smacked his forehead, 'Damn. This thing could barely go through a pillow let alone a tree. I should focus more on the tip next time." Kagari nodded and took the masked man's advice to heart. But he did prove to him at least he was related to the Haku in some way; Kagari wasn't exactly sure if he even was a descendant despite what the man said earlier. He couldn't imagine himself being related to the likes of Saburou; it made him concerned for what other types of monsters lurked in the clan.

The masked man motioned for Kagari to follow and so he did. They exited the park and began to lead him to the location of the household, and once they got closer Kagari felt something different. The temperature was starting to get colder, in fact almost winter like conditions. His search was definitely off and felt a bit of embarrassment when he realized he could have found this place if he paid any attention to the surrounding temperature. Once they rounded the corner, the mansion came into view. It felt like the two of them stepped into a different world, as sheets of snow covered the surrounding lawn. Had they stepped into an invisible portal to a winter wonderland? "You Haku are well known to bring the temp down around you, whether or not you mean to. You get enough together and well, you see. This is where we part ways I think, get in there, get stronger, and I'll see you again so you can teach me some of those fancy ice tricks so make sure you learn a lot!" "Hopefully. They don't know I even exist." Kagari sighed but noticed the masked man extend his hand. He shook his hand and smiled. "Thanks for giving me the tour, see you on the field." The masked man turned and walked away before disappearing into the darkness. "He has a thing for the dramatics doesn't he?" Kagari asked out loud, although no one would answer. He inhaled deeply and walked towards the front door of the mansion, intent on meeting whoever was inside.
