Kami no Rai was in trouble once again! Sunuke’s home within the Lightning Country (besides his obvious home in Yuii’s apartment) was in danger and had called upon the Village Hidden in the Clouds for help. Luckily for them that message was intercepted by the Missing-nin known as Nanjirou Sunuke. Yes the man was heading back to his little home to deal with more pesky invasions on their farmland.
The village he was returning to could not catch a break, hence why Yuii had placed him there before she moved permanently back to Kumogakure. From attacks by toad sages, to bandits, to toad sage bandits and the crazier things in life. He was pretty much their guardian, and since he had left to be closer to his adopted sister their calls for help had become more frequent. He figured the news that the great Samurai had moved away from the village and their bountiful farmland had been ripe for the taking.
The Nanjirou arrived just in the nick of time, as the farmers had been forced into their homes as bandit shinobi from some lesser known village had arrived to take what belonged to the Lightning Country, and not for some other random place that had no specific name that Sunuke really cared about.
He would just simply walk up into the village, easily attracting their attention. Obviously unaware that this was Kami No Rai’s protector, and instead just thought of him as just some punk kid (despite being in his early 30’s). Instead they would already begin walking up to him to begin harassing him for whatever he had on him.
”Sorry boys,” the Nanjirou said, before holding his hands out. ”I got nothing on me, just a humble swordsman who travels to cut the best sashimi in the world. So unless you want sashimi cut I’m no use to you.”
“You might not be,” said one of the bandits, “but I’m sure that blade is pretty sharp if you use it for cutting fish. Might be useful for cutting up a couple farmers here. Otherwise we might just have to take your hands before we take it from you.”
The Nanjirou would frown at that comment, remaining silent as he slowly moved his hands closer to his blade as they moved closer, before he was right behind one of them and then the next and then the next.
It wouldn’t be too long before the bandits would be died up (with a few lacerations) and the farmers freed from their captivity. Once again the village was saved thanks to Yuii’s Brother.
The journey home to to Kumogakure would be a long and dull journey. While he had pretty much ran all the way there. The journey back had become a little slow, and a little cumbersome. An early start had made the man feel a little sleepy, and you know what would be great? A short nap on the side of the path with all the lush grasslands and the asphodels that grew up naturally around the Lightning Country.
”A short little kip wouldn’t hurt, would it?” he asked himself as he walked off the path by about three to four hundred metres. Surely at that point hno one would disturb him.
He would simply sit, before lying down on his back, before feeling his eyes already began drooping down to the bottom of his eyes. He didn’t really try fighting the tiredness, after all he did want to lie down. But he didn’t realise how tired he had grown from just running to a village just outside of Kumogakure.
A short little nap would just do the trick.
