It wasn't often that Kiyoko was allowed out of the house without a specific destination, such as the academy or the local shop to buy some groceries, but when she was given the opportunity, she always took it gratefully. She had packed up a small bag containing her art supplies as well as a thin piece of wood, a medium she liked much more than paper, and had set off to find a scene she could draw. Her mother would allow her to stay out for as much time as she wanted, until she would grow too tired and return home before falling asleep. After all, Sunagakure wasn't always the safest place for a young, frail girl like herself to be roaming around alone. She made sure to stick with crowds until she found a good place to break off, sticking to the well lit areas of the streets to see any oncoming assailant.

And this was the path she was traveling now. Her eyes scanned each darker passageway as she would pass, not wanting to be caught off guard. It took a little while to find the same scene she had been drawing before, but it eventually came into view. It was a quaint little flower shop that wasn't doing so well anymore. Kiyoko didn't know the shop owner, and she didn't want to upset her by drawing her shop without permission, so the white-haired child would always seat herself on the roof of a building across from the shop. She would have to slowly maneuver herself up, given her untrained muscles and lack of physical exercise, but she would always find a way up to her usual spot before pulling out her supplies and beginning to work once again. Her piece recreated the bright, colorful flowers that she was sure had existed before the shop keeper had lost her care and ability to grow them as well. What was now a dull scene was refurnished into a colorful masterpiece, and Kiyo wanted the woman to know that she still believed in her shop and her flowers.

This just happened to be the day she would finish, and she smiled brightly when she had done so. She was going to leave the picture in front of the shop, along with a quaint little white flower her and her mother had grown just for this occasion. She packed up her bag and climbed back down, running up to the shop with a small smile on her face. Once she got there, she set the picture out so that the woman would see it. She then removed a small box from her bag, pulling out the white bloom and setting it next to the picture. Hoping to see the woman's reaction, she knocked on the door before sprinting away and slipping into a small shadow next to one of the buildings.

The woman stepped out of the shop and looked around before spotting the piece of wood and the flower. She knelt down and picked up the picture, smiling softly before turning and setting it in the window of the shop. She then took the white flower and looked at it before turning back around, facing Kiyoko. "Thank you, little one," she called out, both shocking Kiyo and making her smile. She had thought she did this without the woman knowing, but perhaps she wasn't as hidden as she thought. She laughed softly before turning around to head home, glad that she had made someone happy with her art.

When she was a little ways away from the shop, she heard a loud scream. It made her heart fall, and she immediately started running back to the shop. She saw the woman lying on the ground outside of the shop, and Kiyoko rushed to her side, dropping to her knees to put pressure on the wound that was bleeding out from her stomach. "C-Child..." the woman began, tears forming in her eyes. Kiyoko offered a small smile to her, not allowing herself to cry for the woman even though she feared the worst. She wasn't medically trained in any way except the basics, and all she knew to do was to put pressure on a bleeding wound. However, she soon heard a laugh coming from behind her.

"Poor little girl. You can't save someone who is bleeding that quickly." Kiyo knew the blood was seeping through her small hands, but she didn't stop trying. She turned her head and glared as darkly as she could at the man standing a few feet away. He held a long sword in his hand, and she knew she was in great danger. "How sad it is too, to see the kind woman smiling one moment then crying and dying another."

Despite Kiyoko's anger, she kept herself from rushing at the man. He had far too many advantages on her. He was armed with a weapon she wasn't familiar with, he was much larger and stronger than her, and he held some sort of darkness within him that she had never felt herself. The only bad things that had ever happened to her was a few bruises from a spar, some more painful wounds from a class, and the loss of her father. The last was the only one that she could blame on someone else, but she had yet to come to terms with the fact that he was actually gone. This man seemed as though he had never seen a single happy moment in his life, and though that was probably not true, if he had that much hatred and anger in his heart, he must be far from any kindness at the moment. If she were to attack him or attempt to run, he would only attack her. Unless he only wanted to drive her to fear him and let her go with that fear and anxiety, but what reason would he have to do that? So Kiyoko stayed right where she was, watching carefully for any movement on his behalf.

It was clear that Rise have yet grown accustom to the desert’s climate. At one point, it seemed cool and rather refreshing, then at other times it was hot. Dreadfully hot. This was especially true for someone with such pale skin as herself. The sun singed her flesh quite often than she wanted and she was parched. It didn’t matter if she was an immortal, it didn’t change that she was still human biologically. “I’m so thirsty…”, she uttered beneath her breath.

With all the fuss she was making, you would wonder why she ventured into this ‘lovely’ dry piece of desert known as Sunagakure. She had her reasons but on this day, she was simply roaming the many venues of residence area. It wasn’t odd for an assassin to check all the invulnerabilities and terrain of their enemy but she didn’t prepare well.

“F*ck it. I’m going to find some water… My throat is f*cking dry and my tongue isn’t wet for sh*t” You could imagine the expression shown from her onlookers. It just wasn’t expected from someone whom looked as /delicate/ as herself. Either ways, the woman continued to traverse through the town until a lovely scent caught her nostrils. Even her dry tongue had become moist the closer she gravitated towards the scent of blood. Yes, the beautiful crimson hue painted the ground…. and the source was a young woman.

“Delicious…”, Using her salivated tongue she wet her lips. A euphoric sensation quickly overwhelmed her body. This feeling was what she had longed for since her arrival in Sunagakure. “Captain Obvious arrived. Milady, you seem to be bleeding.”, She simply laughed in jest. It took a moment for her to finally grasp the situation. There was a defenseless child and the supposed assailant. “Oh, so there were other people here.”, She reached to the ground and swirled her finger into the pool of blood. Then to her lips she raised her fingers to savor the taste. “Mmmm….”

But despite her enjoyment of this meal, this specific moment was familiar. It reminded her of her past. That weak child whom was unable to do a thing than watch as those around her got hurt. This child was Rise at one point.

“Child. I can sense your anger… I can also feel your frustration… being helpless and alone. I’ve been there before… When faced with such peril before you, you only have two choices. Fight or Flight… Your life depends on it.” The woman’s light blue colored eyes remained focused at the young child and a playful grin plastered on her face. “…Or a final option. You could be a bad little girl and beg for me to punish this man who have brought you and this woman grief. Let me know your answer.”

Rise was no hero after all, at least not innately. She wanted to see how far she could tap in the darker depths of this child.

Kiyoko was at a loss for what to do. She felt her heart break a little further when she heard the woman attempt to speak. "Knife...inside." Kiyoko then understood. There was a knife inside the flower shop, and Kiyoko was told to go find it. She grew saddened that she would lose this wonderful woman, and she spared a glance to her face once more. A soft smile rested upon her lips. "Live for me." Those three faintly whispered words brought Kiyoko to tears. But she still had a decision to make. Before she could spare her choices another thought, another person landed nearby. Kiyoko lost all hope at that point. One man she might be able to outrun, but two grown adults against a single child was a cruelly unfair scenario. The young girl was sickened when she watched the new person bring her bloodied fingers up to her mouth and tasted the red liquid as if it were a savory treat, but she was surprised when the woman began to speak. She stated Kiyoko's ultimatum aloud along with a third option, asking the small child to state her decision. Kiyo then knew this woman was not on the murderer's side. She didn't know whether or not to claim her as an ally, however.

Kiyoko let out a frustrated sob, looking down as her tears fell into her lap. She looked to the woman, watching her eyes slip shut for eternity. Kiyo knew there was no saving her now. She clenched her jaw as she let her hands fall away from the woman's wound, standing up slowly. She had made her decision.

The man raised a brow as he watched the girl rise from her position on the ground. "Are you actually planning to put up a fight? Or are you more interested in a game of cat and mouse? I have to warn you: the latter will lead to more innocent deaths." He grinned without a care in the world, casting a glance to the other woman. Kiyo took that exact moment to sprint to the flower shop, rushing inside. "Heh, she ran away," he said with a disappointed sigh. He then looked to the only other living person still there. "Look, sweetheart. I only came for the girl. I don't care if you run off and tell everyone; I'll be gone before anything can be done to prevent it. But if you want to die, be my guest," he said, holding up his sword with no respect to the other. "Shouldn't take too long for the victor to walk away."

Meanwhile, Kiyoko grabbed two small kitchen knives from a drawer in the back of the shop, sneaking around the back of the building and peering around the corner as silently as possible. Either he would chase after her when he believed she ran, he would sense her presence, or he would be too busy facing this new person for him to notice her preparing an attack of her own. Her tears had stopped for the time being, and her cold blue eyes watched meticulously for an opening that would grant her success over this man. She was not about to back down from avenging the poor shop keeper's death. But she wasn't sure she would kill him immediately either, unless the woman were to do so. She had a few questions to ask the man if she had the chance.

Her cold heart pumped and fresh air entered her nostrils. You guessed it, it was such a moving moment that Rise grabbed onto her chest and was breathing heavily. “Yes, have you decided?” The life of the shop keeper soon came to an end with a rather pitiful utterance. But was this enough to push this child over the edge? Enough so that she would be motivated to kill? Her eyes widened in exhilaration as the child raised to her feet. This was it. It was the moment that determined her worth.

The young girl had suddenly vanished from sight as she entered the flower shop hurriedly. It may have seemed cowardice to the man but Rise could tell there was a spark within that child. Whether it was anger, disappointment or frustration. Those feelings fueled the child into motion. She chose to fight. “You speak in such an aggravating manner. You really should just stand there and keep your pretty lips shut.” The woman wanted to delay the situation just a bit longer to see what her new acquaintance was planning to do. But Rise’s patience was awfully thin. She already unsheathed her long katana from her back and held it proudly before the assailant. The glare of the sun would bounce off the surface of the blade showcasing just how sharp the weapon was. Any fool would have been able to tell that this weapon wasn’t simply for show. It was for murder.

“Of course, that doesn’t mean I’ll allow you to leave here... not in one piece at least. So, if you would like to push forward I implore you to come at me with the intent of killing me. It’s the only way I would be able to find satisfaction in cutting you down.” But there was no such thing as honor among thiev-assassins. The woman quickly rushed forward before the man, and as she was only inches away from him, she pulled her hand back and struck him roughly into his sternum. Slowly she began to turn her fist and the sound of his ribs cracking inside was like a chorus to her ears. “Lovely! Lovely! Let me hear them!” The man was clearly feeling the grunt of her attack. He groaned harshly simply stunned by the force of the woman's fist. However, Rise was not done just yet. Her next attack was already on its way. Her free hand that held unto the hilt of her sword was slowly sweeping upward to cut open his stomach. It was now a matter of how nimble her assailant was on his feet. She didn’t want this fight to end too abruptly as she wanted to experience the climax to this drama.

[Marked for Training]

Kiyoko had expected the man to be cut down immediately from her first look at the new woman, but when she saw the slow start to the elder's attack, Kiyo had a feeling she knew the younger hadn't actually run away. However, Kiyo was momentarily awestruck by the power in the woman's attacks. She allowed the fight to begin for a moment before hardening her expression once more, pulling herself back to her careful watching and waiting to strike at just the right moment.

The man never expected such power from the strange new woman, but when he felt the force of her punch break a few ribs, he realized there truly was a danger here. His casual gaze turned into a glare after successfully dodging the blade, coming a bit too close to his end to take her easily. He was ready this time, and he brought his sword down at an angle to sweep across her torso, ready to have this duel come to an end as quickly as possible. The pain within his torso was one to ignore, but it did affect his movements slightly.

It was at this moment that Kiyo saw her chance to be of some use to the woman. She sprinted onto the playing field, dipping into a slide and slashing open both of his calves. He would let out a scream and loose his footing from the deep pain beneath his knees, but Kiyoko wasn't finished just yet. He now knew she hadn't run, and since she was a target, she knew she was in danger. The man let out some obscene words as he forced himself upright, Kiyoko preparing to dodge any blows and to assist the other woman. She found no fun in killing this man, but if she were to survive this moment and punish him for his crime, she would want to assure the woman didn't think any less of her. It was quite clear to Kiyoko just how dangerous she was, and the young girl could tell something was different about her. She clearly didn't experience the same upbringing Kiyo had, and if that were so, the young girl wanted to learn more about her new acquaintance.

Her first attack missed. She quickly adjusted her sword to strike down near immediately. The sword would deflect the oncoming attack forcing the two fighters to disengage from the impact of the attack. “I enjoy that sound.. you hear it too don’t you?... Its ringing…. in my ear. The sound of weapon’s clashing.” The woman quickly adjusted her fighting stance so her long katana would be facing towards the enemy. The woman was enjoying herself, there was even a slight skip in her movement while she circled her enemy. “Such a shame. Lord Jashin could have had used someone like you.” After all, Lord Jashin was the god of destruction. So a man whom could kill a defenseless woman without an ounce of guilt was surely welcomed regardless of their skill. They just had to be a vile and pathetic excuse of a human being. But this man did something he would surely regret. He challenged her. Rise wasn’t a prideful person. She didn’t care about rank, power or anything sentimental such as love. But what she loved was to fight. That thrill of possibly losing one life or taking the life another. This was what it meant to be alive. That moment was all that mattered…

But…

“You hold a sword… but you are no master in using it. My master has drilled into me his forte which took many years of refinement… So there is no way a hack like you will be able to defeat me shuffling around in a toddlers shoes. Grow a dick and fight me properly.” Clearly Rise was unsatisfied at his current level. She needed to push him more. He needed to bleed more. Scream more. Ache more. Only then could she awaken his potential.

Before she was about ready to initiate her next attack, the little girl suddenly dashed into the fray cutting at the man’s calves quickly changing the tempo of the battle. You could say, even Rise was impressed by the reflexes of the child. “Even a child troubles you? You are pathetic.”, She spat irately. The woman just wanted him to get angrier. Taunting him. Teasing him of how pathetic he was.

“Kid, you had the opportunity to kill this man. But why didn’t you? Being soft and weak… you will lose everything. Your home. Your family. Your friends. Do you want to end up like that pathetic lady who died?” Rise was harsh with her utterances but she wanted to teach this child a thing or two about living in the real world. “I’ve seen it.. I’ve felt it… and I will show you... how to kill.”

She then flicked her hair back so her light blue colored eyes could get a better view of her opponent. "Come at me. This next attack will be your last."

Kiyoko didn't like the sound of the woman's voice. She was sickened by everything this man embodied, from his killing of an innocent woman to the sick amusement he found in violence. Kiyo realized that, from what she knew, this woman was no different. The only difference was that she had taken this man on to teach Kiyoko a lesson. And despite Kiyo's disagreement with both sides of the fight, she found herself admiring this woman. She wanted to learn more. What made her like this? Where did she even come from? And what did she mean when she said she had been there before? Far too many questions for the young girl to have in a moment like this, so she pushed the thoughts away to focus once more.

The man ignored the screaming pain from his ribs and now calves, enraged by the woman's taunts. Even the child had noticed what the woman was doing, but it seemed this man didn't care one bit. "If I can handle the brat's father, I can handle her," he replied angrily, prepping to attack once more. He charged at the elder woman, relentlessly aiming to strike her down. It was quite clear his attacks were messy and unplanned, as he was merely acting on his rage rather than thinking through his method.

At the mention of her father, Kiyo was at a loss of what to think. Her small form eyed the man warily, her emotions threatening to spill once more as she had yet to overcome the discovery of her father's body. But after processing the information, something clicked. This man was one of the ones that had tortured her father up until his death. The man she respected and loved was killed with the help of this assailant. And it infuriated her. Her gaze hardened once more, only this time her eyes lost the emotion that would always give her inner feelings away. She felt cold to everything surrounding her, and she loved it. Her lips curved just slightly, the small smirk easily missed if one were to glance at her.

The man grew tired from the blood he was losing on top of the vicious attack pattern he had created and the wounds he had received prior. Kiyoko swiftly approached, glancing at the woman once with a blank expression. Whether or not the woman would continue and kill the man, Kiyoko could care less. She stood close enough to watch each small detail as the man fell to his knees, the knives in her small hands gripped loosely now. You deserve to die. Be glad there is no prolonged torture after what you did to my father, she thought, never once tearing her eyes away from the man.

If the woman were to wait for her to move, Kiyoko would stab one shoulder, successfully making the man drop his sword, before she would lean closer to him. "I can't wait to hunt every single one of you down for ripping my family apart," she would growl, tearing her blade from his shoulder before stabbing the side of his neck.

No matter who the death was caused by, reality of what had just occurred would crash down on Kiyo when her eyes drifted from the new corpse to the first one. Tears would escape her eyes as she backed away slowly, out of fear of herself more than the woman she had fought alongside for a mere moment. What...what have I done? she thought in horror, scared of what she allowed herself to watch or do.

[MFT: 597 words]

So, there seemed to be more to this story. When she was about ready to wrap things up by ending this wretched man’s life. He taunted the child about her father. What exactly could he mean that he handled the brat’s father? Did he mean that he was associated with the death of the girl's father? The woman whom seemed quite pompous in battle had suddenly regressed into an impassive state. There was something about this that rekindled old memories of her past. Rise never had parents but she did have someone who cared for her. They ravaged her and killed her right before her eyes. It was on that day she became what she was. A murderer. A pathetic soul without pride and reason. Yet at this very moment she stalled. She didn’t know why or for what reason but it bothered the heck out of her that she couldn't act.

“Tch…” Her eyes would gaze over towards the little girl and before she could say something a tad more empathetic to consult her, the seed was already planted. The fury and anger bottled inside the child. It could no longer hold. Yes, Jashin would be happy on this day. Madness was what made people strong. The more stressful and agonizing the pain, the stronger and more potential the power. Rise was the embodiment of the cult’s belief. They created this monster from years of abuse and torture. “Mm… Yes…” The passion burning inside of her as she watched the innocent girl begin to torture the man. To perverse innocence. Soiling their goody two-shoes outlook of life into a more dark, depraved world. It felt so good. The woman couldn’t hold herself back from an obscure moan.

That moment was finally coming… when that young child would become an adult. The girl without mercy lodged her blade into the man’s neck. It was for a brief moment but the man gasped for dear life. Rise’s smile stretched from one ear to the next. This enjoyment wasn’t something you could see at a play or theatre. It could only be re-created through life. Pure emotion. She was surely pleased with Kiyoko’s performance. “Good Girl” She simply chuckled, “I hope you enjoyed watching the light escape from his eyes. That was my favorite part. The greater the fear the more exhilarating it is. I’d hope you remember that.”

She then kicked the lifeless body to the ground. “I have no idea what this man have done to your family. But you did good today child. Lord Jashin is quite happy with your efforts.” Like a parent would she petted the child on the head.

”But now that you are a murderer. First question, what shall we do with the body?~ It might be fun to chop him up into little bits and use it for decor or maybe we could use his blood for arts and crafts. You have that at school right?” Clearly Rise was having a ball with this.

Kiyoko felt her stomach churn at the sight of how excited and happy the woman seemed. It was like Kiyo wasn't anything threatening to her. Like the woman was proud of what she just did. She nearly flinched under the pat on the head, but she felt like her entire mind was going numb. Her adrenaline from the rush of emotions had her heart pounding and her head spinning. Kiyoko knew she didn't need to pass out, however, and she forced herself to take a few deep breaths in silence as she thought deeply about what to do. Her entire world had been shattered right before her eyes.

She had sworn to her father that she would love every single person and fill her life with that love so that her fire would never go out, a simple analogy that had been her last memory with her father before he had left on his last trade mission. Now, here she was, killing a complete stranger with no hesitation. I've never felt so...cold...

"I-I don't know...I've never killed someone," she spoke timidly, forcing herself to remain calm even though her entire being was screaming negativity at her in her thoughts. She couldn't lose it in front of the woman. She still felt threatened, so she needed to keep a level head until she was completely alone. She wiped away her tears, looking at the man she had killed. What would her father think? Would he be upset that she had abandoned her promise, or let it slide since it was done out of love and revenge for him? "I don't want to create...art out of him," she clarified very specifically. Her art was a thing of love and beauty, not of hatred and murder. She knew that beauty was a subjective opinion, but she would most likely never associate blood and gore with it.

She didn't want to bury him, though. Burial was a sign of respect, and she had none for this man. She didn't want to leave her dear shopkeeper unburied, so she made a decision. "Y-You seem more...comfortable with this situation. Do with him whatever you want, or you can leave him here. I don't care." She then approached the corpse of the woman she had given the small drawing to. "You deserve a proper resting place, Miss," she said softly, smiling sadly as she thought about how she could bury the woman.

After a moment of thought, Kiyoko dragged the woman to the shop as carefully as possible. She then laid her on the small porch of the shop, picking all of the most beautiful flowers from the entire small building and surrounding her in them. She then used the rest to cover her body, placing the white flower she had grown beneath her hands on her torso. She then set the drawing to lean against her mound of flowers. Kiyoko moved to her knees and bowed to where her head was resting on her hands. She paid her respects to the loss of the woman without shedding any tears, not feeling like she could cry in front of anyone. She then stood, walking back over to where the woman was. "I'm surprised you didn't finish him off," Kiyoko said, keeping her hands to her sides. She took this woman as the killer kind, from her fighting style and odd obsession with blood and pain.

Kiyoko then decided she wanted to learn more about this woman. "I am Kiyoko, the only child of the Mizuki clan. Call me as you'd like. Who are you?" The white-haired child gazed up at the woman, her emotions flickering between confusion and remorse even though her expression never left its stoic mask.

The child must have been traumatized from the ordeal. Imagine, seeing two murders first hand. Helpless and unable to prevent the inevitable. It was a crushing thought for a mere child to become accustom to bloodshed. Thrown into a world where revenge, bloodlust and cruelty reigned supreme. Unlike this child whom was born and raised within a military village, Rise’s adoption into this world was vastly different. She didn’t know of war nor was she raised around it. Her childhood, although blurry, was relatively peaceful. Yet here she was cherishing the horrors that possibly inflicted on the child’s mind. ”Your eyes are that of an amateur. This is your first time you’ve killed? Well then, I think you should be thanking me. You are born and raised among this putrid system of being a killer. An assassin to fight for your country and their ideals. Killing will become as simple as eating… or having a drink among friends.” The woman may have seemed cold with her words but there was truth behind them. Sunagakure would simply decorate senseless murders as an act of heroism. Brain washing their citizens that these sinful acts were for the betterment of their country. It all remained the same. They were all murderers. Every last one of them. There was no difference between this man, child or even herself. It was simply the circumstances in which they met and whom stood triumphantly in the end.

Rise didn’t respond to the young girl’s utterances so soon. She wanted to observe her. See exactly how she managed herself. The child stated she didn’t care for this man? Rise simply chuckled. Her words alone were unfriendly, cold and heartless. There was an inconsistency between her actions and the words she spoke. Showing compassion to the dead woman by burying her but arguable heartless to the man she just killed in cold blood. One could say, she was simply playing the hero but who’s to say this man’s actions weren’t also just? Perhaps he too had a family and this was the only way he could provide for them. Well, if the latter was true they would never see him again and the evil-doer, murderer, the person of their hatred would be none other than this child whom calls herself Kiyoko.

Delicious. The woman bared her teeth with a malicious grin. She was getting excited.

“I didn’t finish off this man because I saw something in you. The potential to be something so much greater.” The woman flipped her messy hair back to get a better view of the child’s face. “Well Kiyoko, today must be your lucky day. I’ve decided I’m going to teach you my forte.” You would think Rise was being generous but in actuality, she simply wanted to keep ahold of Kiyoko just like the Jashinist cult did to her. It was funny how history repeated itself.

“Now let me show you something really fun…” The woman bit unto her thumb so small sacks of blood would trickle down her finger. Then immediately she performed numerous handseals in succession before planting her palm unto the dry ground. Suddenly, a large cloud of smoke would engulf the immediate area, hindering all eyes from seeing what was about to come.

“Feast.” She simply shouted.

A shadowy figure would suddenly arise from the desert sands and crash down into the man’s lifeless body. You would hear the sound of bones being crushed from the mighty jaws of this creature and sand being whipped around like a sand storm. Eventually, the smoke subsided and the sight of the man was no more. All that remained was the sand soaked of his blood and small remains of his flesh and organs that littered the immediate area. Clearly the woman had summoned something dangerous but the beast remained hidden underground in waiting…

“Well… I’ve been thinking. You probably have second thoughts in being my apprentice. But I think you will re-consider that? I don't think you have much of a choice.” The woman was clearly bullying the child into submission and she enjoyed every moment of it.

Kiyoko's thoughts on this woman didn't change when she heard the answer to her question. Something greater, sure. Any child could be greater with proper teachings. But something about this woman was clearly off. Kiyo had yet to learn the woman's name, and it was sort of making her uncomfortable, but she let it go as she narrowed her eyes to watch the woman as she wanted to show her something "really fun." Her eyes squinted when the sand was thrown, but she was able to see the shadow of a giant creature for a moment. It scared her back into the silence she was previously in, so when she was addressed by the woman once more, all she could do was stare at her.

Eventually the gears started to turn as she comprehended what was said to her, and a laugh left her lips, though there was no humour in it. Second thoughts would be me considering to accept your demand. Kiyo was smart enough to know when she had choices, but this one didn't seem to have the option of declining. "What could you even teach me? The only thing I have going for me is my speed," she spoke, not knowing what this woman could have seen in her. If you see something 'special' in me, great. But what good will a child do you? I have a mother waiting for my return who will probably not last a day if I don't come home tonight. I cannot accept to be taught by you because I cannot abandon her.

But she couldn't risk her mother getting hurt by revealing her existence. The woman might even threaten to kill her mother if she were to decline. If she wanted to keep her mother safe, Kiyo needed to accept this woman's proclamation and learn something from her, no matter how difficult it may be. After thinking on it a bit more, she made up her mind. "I...I will learn from you. How long will you keep me?" she asked, curious if she would be allowed to take anything with her, maybe even be given the night to prepare before leaving. If so, she could at least leave her mother a note explaining the situation. Kiyoko knew leaving her mother would be hard on the both of them, but if it meant giving her mother a chance to live longer, then she would do anything.

There was no way that the little girl could decline. The monster who swam beneath the sands was still lurking, and if Rise were to give the cue, it would only take a few seconds to end this. Rise was ridiculously foul when she needed to be especially when she could abuse her strength forcing others to subjugate to her will. Kiyoko was simply the prey at this moment. Quite unfortunate for her but extremely satisfying morsel to Rise. She could simply eat the girl up.

“You are hilarious. You look like you’ve seen a ghost. Your hairs are literally standing. Do I scare you that much?” The woman would playfully chuckle. She knew that girl's thoughts would be riddled with questions. What could Rise possibly need with a child? It was quite simple really. Children always had an easier time adapting to harsher environments and learn new things. Once you have instilled these values into them it eventually became the norm. Good or bad, children were sponges for knowledge.

“Right.. I think I forgot to mention my name since I was having such a blast with you. My name is Rise and from now on I am your Master.” The woman chimed quite happily. Simply the sound of Master in their love-hate relationship brought a skip to her step. It was the yin and yang aspect that made it all the more interesting. To curve someone so innocent to dastardly deeds. She would make her into a true Jashinist yet. A believer of darkness, bloodshed and a sprinkle of chaos here and there.

“Don’t piss yourself. I’m not bringing you anywhere. I actually need someone to stay in this village. A contact you can say.” The woman suddenly approached Kiyoko from behind and held her closely into an embrace. Kiyoko possibly felt uncomfortable from her forced attempt in showing affection but Rise was ok with this. She wanted her to feel awkward. It made it all the more amusing.

“I will train you how to fight. You will become a formidable assassin and leashed pet. However, if you speak of this to anyone. I will find them. Every last one of the people you hold dear. Understand?”

“Now asssiiiide from all that, here is the fun thing I wanted to show you.”

She then snapped her fingers and the large great white shark arisen from the sands once again. It was quite the eruption. Sand scattered everywhere creating a dust cloud. The creature’s massive head was now gazing down towards the child showing its huge rows of dagger like teeth. You would still be able to see the remains of the man still lodged in her teeth which emanated quite the foul scent.

“Sera meet Kiyoko. This child is a slave of mine I just acquired her. Isn't she cute?”

The Great White immediately laughed, “Ha! I thought you brought this child to me as an offering for my summoning. You know how much I love the taste of Sunagakurian people. You humans are so weak and insignificant. For this child to be subjugated by this half-ass supposed woman she surely must be a pathetic one.”

Well you could say the relationship between Rise and her Shark-kin was quite the lively one. But it was just the way she liked it. Crude, honest and to the point.

[Marked for Training]
[OOC: I'm posting from work so I'll add a visual of the shark later to my post.]

Master?... Unsure of how to take the statement of being considered a slave, she simply held her tongue and continued to listen to the woman. When she was told she wouldn't be leaving Sunagakure anytime soon, she felt slightly relieved. She would be an inside man, but that didn't sound too troublesome. She would simply have to put up with lying to her mother more often. She wasn't perfect; she lied plenty of times, though none were for dangerous reasons such as training under and serving an assassin. When she was hugged from behind, Kiyoko felt nervous. She didn't like to be this close to complete strangers. There was no telling what her intentions were. She didn't move away, however, and nodded to show that she understood the terms that were given to her by the woman.

When Rise snapped, Kiyoko watched the sand fall away messily as a giant shark appeared. She had never seen such a creature outside of drawings her mother had shown her and books she had read from time to time. It honestly amazed her, aside from the disgust she felt when she smelled the scent of the dead man within her teeth. She ignored this fact, however, feeling no remorse except for the fact that she may disappoint her mother. She was even more enthralled when the giant beast spoke to them. Sera was her name apparently...it was a unique creature in the young child's eyes, and quite..."magnificent." She spoke quietly, voicing her thoughts accidentally.

Hoping that neither had heard her, she flushed slightly and looked away from the giant shark, instead turning her head to Rise. "So I will be helping you from inside Sunagakure...are we going to train today, or have a designated meeting place and time?" she asked curiously. As much as she didn't like this situation, she hated not knowing as much about the it as possible. The sooner she could figure out what the plan was, the sooner she could return home to her mother and prepare dinner or apologize for her late arrival. After all, she had a feeling she wouldn't make it home before her usual estimated curfew.

She went to lace her fingers together as she usually did when nervous, but she felt her second knife still resting in her hand. Kiyo felt slightly nauseous and looked down at the blood-stained blade in her palm. She clenched the handle in her small fist as she raised her head in wait for the answer. It was by her hands that this man died, so she needed to force herself not to fear it in front of a known killer and giant, man-eating shark. She looked up at the shark once more, her soft blue eyes landing on the remnants of the man that had helped harm her family. After thinking on the situation, it may have been smarter if she had tortured him for answers a little longer instead of killing him immediately. But perhaps hearing that the man they sent in was killed by the young girl herself would instill fear in them. She wasn't sure whether or not she wanted to be feared as a child, though. If someone as frail and..."innocent" as her was going to be an inside man for an assassin, being underestimated and looked down on might be the smarter approach.

“Perhaps you are just losing your touch Sera.” The woman simply smiled reaching towards Sera’s cheeks. A gentle stroke brushed against the shark’s jagged flesh. “If you haven’t realized, she isn’t shaking in her boots- at least not yet.”

You probably would have wondered why Rise seemed friendlier with a Shark as opposed to her own kind. It all had to do with her upbringing. Humans have always been distrustful. They lied and cheat. Where Sharks on the other hand, yes ferocious creatures but they were honest to their true nature and instinct. Rise related quite well with these marvelous creatures of the deep in more ways than one. Even their tendencies of playing with their food. Not saying Kiyoko is food….

Sera’s gaze would immediately focus on little Kiyoko, “You said something little runt?.. You need to speak up louder. If you admire something, say it with your chest.” Sera wasn’t shy from speaking her mind. She has always been an upfront kind of gal. “So what is your game Rise? Disposal of bodies usually is your favorite past time. Rarely do you summon me for ‘fun’.”

Sera did have a point. Rise wanted something. It was also evident by that creepy grin plastered on her face. “I’ve decided to train her. She may seem like nothing but skin and bones but I can assure you, she has potential. I just need the right person to assist me. Someone like you who is best at inducing fear… pain… psychosis perhaps even sprinkle in some sage jutsu?” Rise simply snorted. It would be long before Kiyoko would even be able to attempt one of the techniques.

“Hmph. You take me lightly. It’s always a reason with you. I’ll have to think about it. I’m not a babysitter after all. I don’t want you to cry if I eat your pet.”

“Unlikely event.” Rise retorted. Sympathy for a human being, quite unlikely indeed.

“So Kiyoko, just think of Sera as Sera-senpai yah?”

[OOC: Sorry about taking so long I had so much grad school assignments lol. I think we should be able to wrap this up in one more post.]

Kiyoko furrowed her brows as the woman spoke. She was supposed to be scared of the shark, and she actually was, but it didn't change the fact that it truly was a magnificent creature. Though she flinched a bit when Sera spoke to her. She kept her mouth shut this time, not wanting to repeat herself if that was how she would be treated by the shark. Then again, perhaps letting her know would be a way to get back at her rudeness. She made up her mind. But before she could speak, Sera spoke to Rise again. She pulled her arms close as she crossed them, and she listened to them speak to each other. It was a conversation about what they would be doing with Kiyoko, though when Rise said it was unlikely she would feel anything if Kiyoko was eaten, she shifted her eyes away from the two. She didn't expect them to like her, but it didn't change the fact that it hurt her a little bit.

She then laughed a little to herself, shaking her head. It was stupid to be hurt by harsh words like that when she didn't even know them personally. She looked over to Rise when she spoke once again. "Sera-senpai? I think Sera-ue would be more appropriate," she replied, casting her eyes up to Sera. "And what I had said before was that you are magnificent."

Having said all that she meant to, she looked to Rise once more, letting her arms loosen and fall to her sides. "My own death doesn't scare me, but I doubt that will stop you from finding out how to instill fear into me. So I'll tell you how: My only weakness is one person who I hold dear, but I doubt she would live long with or without me, so that time slot is running thin. After she's gone, I have nothing. Do with me what you will," she stated firmly, "but until she dies of her own accord, I will not do anything that may bring her trouble."

The last thing she needed was for her mother to be killed just like her father was. Kiyoko would go silent as a Mizuki child until her mother passed on, perhaps even using an alias for Rise's work. But if someone were to kill her mother, she would not stop until she got her revenge, no matter what paths she would have to take to get it.

[OOC: Topic left unless you see a reason to keep me ^^ Thanks for this! It gave me a bunch of ideas for Kiyoko's character development!!]

The little pup finally spoke up bravely. Even Sera who was once skeptical of the child couldn’t help but grin- well as much as a great white shark could. “Good. Don’t doubt yourself.” Flattery wasn’t Sera’s honey spot but it was definitely different from her usual interactions with human beings. Humans have always referred to her as a monster and they had good reason to. Unlike other great whites of the deep, Sera was far more voracious and relentless with her hunt. Humans were her primary source of feeding as opposed to other small fries of the deep. If you were her prey, it was inevitable. You would be eaten unless you could overpower her prowess.

“Rise. I’ll think about it. But until then, keep Kiyoko alive. So don’t have /too/ much fun” That was rather surprising. Sera requesting to keep Kiyoko alive? If anything, that was an indirect affirmation in becoming Kiyoko’s sensei. Rise simple smiled, “I’m sure you will have more fun the next time I summon you Sera.” With Rise’s last comments, the large shark suddenly vanished in a large puff of smoke. How convenient it was for these mythical creatures. They could just warp reality as they pleased.

“Kiyoko. You heard her. I must keep you alive. Though, I cannot guarantee after all this you won’t wish to be dead.” Rise would once more rake her fingers through the child hair. “You were weak so you couldn’t save your father… but this will change. You will become stronger. No more will you have to blame yourself for your weakness. This is what I am granting you.. consider yourself lucky child.” This was a blessing and a curse nicely wrapped like a present for Kiyoko. It was now up to her to choose how she would live her life as a student of Rise.

“Also, have this..” She handed Kiyoko a small headset within her palms. “Use this if you ever need to contact me. I’ll also use this to get in contact with you. So be careful with it.” If the child happened to lose it, well you could just say Rise wouldn't be happy with that. But nonetheless, Rise would find her and she will need some “compensation” one way or another.

Once Kiyoko had departed, Rise too skedaddled from the vicinity. With a skip in her step, you probably would of think she had no care in the world. When actually, Rise was thinking of all the fun things she could do with her new pet.
