Giant fireball attack, Hyaa! Mega water fall technique, Wooosh! Hey, no fair! I got you first. Nu-uh, you missed me, na na na nya The little girl stuck her tongue out towards the little boy that would be her sparring partner. Kaen watched as the boy gave chase to the girl, running as fast as his little legs could carry him. It was days like this that gave him solace. To just come to a park and relax, get some fresh air and perspective on life. It was also quite amusing to watch the small children play pretend, imagining themselves as great shinobi warriors battling to save... well whatever little kids wanted to save.
Kaen had sat himself on a bench that was conveniently placed next to a walking path that also happened to face an open field where kids of all ages could be seen frolicking about and enjoying the warm day. While it filled his head with hope for the future, watching these children play also weighed heavy in his mind as it wandered towards the dark recesses of his subconscious. The didn't even know how good they had it... at their age he... well, he wasn't running around and having fun, that's for damn sure. He grew to almost envy the simplistic life these young children had, such care free attitudes, not a worry or hint of responsibility weighing on their little heads. Kaen watched as the little boy finally caught his prize and tackled the little girl the ground. He smiled as the girl let loose a cute flurry of punches in an attempt to free herself from captivity.
The gleaming sun was bright even beneath the shade of the large desert willow tree that conveniently hung nicely over the bench. His eyes would strain ever so slightly as he stared upwards through the branches. Kaen shook his long, crimson bangs from in front of his face in a nonchalant fashion. By now the wind was beginning to pick up a little, Kaen's hair fluttering about as the wind easily pushed it about. Kaen recentered his focus to the path that lay before him, becoming lost in the fine details of the paved path. The texture was not so different then the floor of that place... Images flashed in his mind, going to and from his current reality. In the distance he could hear the kid's laughter, only for it to warp and distort in his mind as reflections of the past haunted him. He could still hear their screams and pleas as their voices echoed down the hallways... Kaen's face went blank as he spaced off into the paved trail in front of him. The wind rushed through the leaves causing them to rustle in their branches, Kaen's endless stare would continue until the next convenient distraction came along to pull him from his mind.
