Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Giant fireball attack, Hyaa! Mega water fall technique, Wooosh! Hey, no fair! I got you first. Nu-uh, you missed me, na na na nya The little girl stuck her tongue out towards the little boy that would be her sparring partner. Kaen watched as the boy gave chase to the girl, running as fast as his little legs could carry him. It was days like this that gave him solace. To just come to a park and relax, get some fresh air and perspective on life. It was also quite amusing to watch the small children play pretend, imagining themselves as great shinobi warriors battling to save... well whatever little kids wanted to save.

Kaen had sat himself on a bench that was conveniently placed next to a walking path that also happened to face an open field where kids of all ages could be seen frolicking about and enjoying the warm day. While it filled his head with hope for the future, watching these children play also weighed heavy in his mind as it wandered towards the dark recesses of his subconscious. The didn't even know how good they had it... at their age he... well, he wasn't running around and having fun, that's for damn sure. He grew to almost envy the simplistic life these young children had, such care free attitudes, not a worry or hint of responsibility weighing on their little heads. Kaen watched as the little boy finally caught his prize and tackled the little girl the ground. He smiled as the girl let loose a cute flurry of punches in an attempt to free herself from captivity.

The gleaming sun was bright even beneath the shade of the large desert willow tree that conveniently hung nicely over the bench. His eyes would strain ever so slightly as he stared upwards through the branches. Kaen shook his long, crimson bangs from in front of his face in a nonchalant fashion. By now the wind was beginning to pick up a little, Kaen's hair fluttering about as the wind easily pushed it about. Kaen recentered his focus to the path that lay before him, becoming lost in the fine details of the paved path. The texture was not so different then the floor of that place... Images flashed in his mind, going to and from his current reality. In the distance he could hear the kid's laughter, only for it to warp and distort in his mind as reflections of the past haunted him. He could still hear their screams and pleas as their voices echoed down the hallways... Kaen's face went blank as he spaced off into the paved trail in front of him. The wind rushed through the leaves causing them to rustle in their branches, Kaen's endless stare would continue until the next convenient distraction came along to pull him from his mind.

Yea, the day sure seemed peaceful for the kids and for the read-headed stranger. Even in this world, people could still find peace. Something that was so hard to find with all that was going on. Fights, blood, losses, betrayals, ugly rituals, sadness, anger... this world was built on that.
Or that's what the girl was thinking, while walking on the paved path and reading a book, titled "The history of Sunagakure".

On the other hand she was holding an open bottle of water and took a sip from it, without moving her eyes from the book.
"Aaah... Sunagakure is just like me. Harsh terrain, went thorough a lot, unfriendly environment... but on the inside there is still life. Not an easy one, but still... life. It's not for everyone I guess."
She was thinking, while waking forward to the bench that was occupied by the red-headed guy.
She, of course, didn't noticed that. She didn't noticed the kids, the nice weather, the beautiful trees... Only the book and it's pages, keeping the history of this place she started to call home.
In her head were flashing the images of the fights, described in the book. Epic fights and people with a lot of power. That made the girl smile, while staring at the book in trans-like state. She wasn't in this world. Her big imagination transferred her to that period and she was there, fighting, killing enemies and big monsters.
It sure was peaceful day, but not in her head.
A disaster was coming right at Kaen and soon he'd realize that.

The girl was close to the bench. She assumed that no one would be sitting there, so she didn't care to look if it's busy. Just a few steps and....
"Oh shit!!!"
Came to her mind. She had to watch her steps!
The girl tripped over a rock on the ground. Her book fell between Kaen's legs and her bottle flew in the air, pouring it's liquid right on Kaen's head and falling there.
While on the ground, the red-eyed girl lifted her head just to see the stranger, all wet.
People came here to relax, of course she'd show up and ruin everything for them.

When she met with her eyes Kaen's face she immediately blushed. What was worse than tripping over a rock, fell on the ground and getting a guy all wet with your water? Doing all of this to a good looking guy. She felt she was about to cry and wished for the ground to open underneath her and to take her away from this. On top of everything, the kids started laughing at her.
- I.... I'm so sorry... - she said to the guy - please kill me so I don't have to feel so embarrassed.

His mind was rushing now, barely able to keep up with itself. His eyes darted furiously back and forth as he plunged deeper into his subconscious memories of that place. Kaen was so dejectedly lost in his thoughts and memories of the past that he too wasn't giving any attention to his surroundings. This coupled with the girl's own lack of personal awareness resulted in what came next. The quaint dark haired girl tripped over a small rock and begun her plummet to the rocky pathway below. Had Kaen not been so perplexedly lost within the confines of his mind, he might have caught her, sadly this was not the case. In fact the girl tripping was not what had stirred him from his thoughts, it was this sound...

-Thunk-

The sound of the book landing jarred Kaen from his in-depth thoughts. His eyes refocused onto his surroundings and he regained his bearings. A swift moment later the bottle of water, in which the girl had let slip from her grasp with her fall, came tumbling down atop Kaen's head. The bottle itself made a lightly audible -thunk- as it made contact. His crimson hair, now quite saturated, was dripping wet. Large streams of water cascaded down his lovely locks of hair. He was shocked to say the least, I mean the circumstances for such an event couldn't possibly be performed even if it was intentional the second time. Seems fate had presented them both an opportunity, one that they themselves wouldn't quite understand or know about... yet.

Kaen glanced down at the girl, it was then that their gazes locked for the briefest of moments, a fleeting moment that seemed to last nearly a lifetime. Her vibrant, scarlet eyes... So sharp and calculating, they pierced right through him as if they could gaze straight into his soul, threatening to set it ablaze. For a second, it felt as if Kaen had forgotten how to breath, as her eyes were utterly mesmerizing and hypnotic... He felt like he was floating on air when her shimmering eyes stared back at him, staring into him. After the moment came to pass, he noticed that her cheeks had grown quite red... she was blushing.

In the distance the children could be heard laughing, it was obvious that were laughing at the poor girl that had tripped and fallen. It was quite rude to laugh so carefree at the misfortunes of others, most especially when they didn't deserve it. Kaen quickly composed himself and acted accordingly. Quickly using an old trick taught to him by and old friend, he caused his eyes to glow bright red for the briefest of moments, directing a menacing glare in the direction of the kids playing. They immediately silenced their cackling and ran off in fear of what they were sure was a monster. - I.... I'm so sorry... - she said to the Kaen - please kill me so I don't have to feel so embarrassed. - Kaen smiled faintly as he reached down to retrieve her book with one hand, and assisted the girl back to her feet with his other free hand. Once she regained her footing, he would attempt to hand the book back to her. In the same motion in which he handed her the book, he would casually run his fingers through his hair backwards with his free hand and flood his body with chakra. Doing so would cause a chain reaction in his body, a simple trick that he picked up when he was younger, his body temperature sky rocketed to just below 100 degrees Celsius. This caused the water that had previously soaked his shirt and hair to instantly vent off of his body. By the time Kaen had finished running his hands through his hair, most of the water had converted into visible steam and floated away in the wind.

No no, it's fine. I needed a wake up call anyways. What better way then a refreshing splash of aqua pura? Kaen refocused his attention on the petite girl. He gave her a quick once over in an attempt to discern whether or not she was injured. Superficially she seemed to be ok, perhaps it'd be better to ask her... By the way, are you ok? That was quite the fall there, I can walk you to a nearby medical facility, should you require it. Kaen was willing to help in any way he could, even if she denied the medical attention, the least he could do was give her company. He himself could use some, if he was being completely honest with himself...

[OOC, used Transformation to make his eyes glow for a brief moment.]

Aya saw how the guy scared the children away and she felt better. They deserved to be punished for laughing at her and if she had to do it things would get ugly. Of course, she would not hurt them, but scare them really really bad.

She took Kaen's had and stood up, taking her book in herself, hugging it, like it was going to save her from what was about to feel.
The moment he handed her the book, he run his fingers through his hair. That was when the girl lost it.
She stood there like a potato, watching at Kaen. The girl felt a tickling sensation in her chest, warmth over her entire body, especially her cheeks, but her hands were cold.
"Am I... anxious?"
She looked at his hair, his face, his body and felt as if she had butterflies in her stomach.
Ayame couldn't understand this emotion. It was unknown for her. She had no idea what was happening. Her whole life she was taught only the art of stealing and how not to get killed. Showing no emotions and trying not to feel anything was her goal back then. But this village... this village made this impossible. So what happened to the people that could barely understand what a good emotion is and end up in a situation like this?
They freeze in one place, like a retards.

Ayame lifted her head so she could see Kaen's face once again. This time she stared at him for too long, but why? Why she wanted to look at his beautiful face, his amazing hair, his strong body....
She remembered his smile from earlier. That made the things worse... her heart beat became even faster. She felt dizzy.
Maybe he was doing something to her? There were all kinds of people here, with all kinds of abilities. Maybe he was doing something bad to her, without her realizing it. Maybe he was from the gang, maybe he was here to kill her, maybe he wanted to know where her brother is...
All kinds of things came to her mind, but ended with "How do I look? Do I look pretty?".
She was confused.
There was pure chaos in her head. All kinds of emotions jostled one another.
It was the first time she actually cared how she looked in someone's eyes and this made her to move one of the raven black locks behind her ear.
She looked at the ground and smiled, while blushing and hugging her book from Kaen's answer.
The wind tousled her hair and the black lock took it's initial place.
After this he asked her if she was okay and if she needed to be walked to the hospital. She laughed.
- Do I really look like a girl that will need to be walked to the hospital after a little fall?
Even if she tried to be tough in front of him, she still didn't had the courage to look the man in his eyes.

Kaen noticed how tightly she held the book, hugging it tightly against her crisp, white shirt. Any harder and she would risk melding together with the book itself, perhaps it was something of great importance to her? Maybe she was attempting to use it as a shield, thinking that Kaen might attack her. But those thoughts were swept away, like dust in the wind. Her demeanor quickly changed to that of doe, frozen, helpless, filled with anxious thoughts. As the steam vented off his body, he noticed how awe struck she stood. She quickly looked away, only to catch another glimpse of him. This time however she stared and gawked for a large amount of time. It wasn't until his next question that she came too, only to turn a brilliant shade of red. Clearly she was either embarrassed about something, or Kaen was having more of a... effect on her. The signs were there, the uncomfortable book hugging, the blushing, even playing with her hair.

Laughing at his question she responded in kind; Do I really look like a girl that will need to be walked to the hospital after a little fall? Kaen paused for a moment before responding, looking her up and down slowly, evaluating her present condition. Starting from the bottom, and slowly going down and slowly returning to the top where he locked eyes with her own. He would smile again before speaking. You're right, no scratches, bruises or any noticeable faults. In fact, you look quite remarkable. Kaen would pretend like he was talking about the fall, when in fact he was giving a sly compliment. He wondered if she would catch on to it.

With the accident resolved and her being unscathed, she would probably want to be on her way. But Kaen desired for her to linger a moment longer, he needed a reason for her to stay. Kaen thought about what might buy him more time... Her bottle... After the accident, its contents had been dumped all over him, a most opportune "accident". Kaen crouched down and retrieved her bottle and held it upside down over his hand. A single drop of water dripped out and made an audible "Tissss" noise as it made contact and evaporated. Seems you're all out after that little incident, how would you feel if we went and got you another one, my treat? Kaen would stand in a relaxed stance, still making eye contact, while he waited for a reply.

Ayame noticed how the man examined her from head to toe.
"You're right, no scratches, bruises or any noticeable faults. In fact, you look quite remarkable."
The girl wasn't sure how to react. Was he talking about the fall or this was a compliment?
- Uhh.... - was everything that she managed to say.
This feeling in her stomach, like she had butterflies in there wasn't pleasant. Maybe the time to notice boys and fall in love came, but there was no way she could afford it. She had a mission, she had a purpose in this life and there was no place for falling in love. She'd try to kill these butterflies as soon as possible.
The girl wanted to stay in his company and learn more about the guy. She wanted to stare at his eyes and his red hair, to listen to his voice, to see him smiling...
"What the fuck is wrong with me?!" - she thought.
No, there was no way she'd allow that. Ayame looked away, trying to remain serious.
- I'm sorry, I actually have some work to do. Thank you for your help and sorry I made you all wet, have a nice day.
She turned her back on him and went forward. When she was about to take a left turn and disappear she turned her head just to see him one last time.

When she got in her room at the inn Ayame realized that her red scarf was missing. Maybe it fell on the ground there. Damn, she really liked that scarf.
The girl took a deep breath and fell on the bed, watching at the ceiling and thinking... she actually wanted to see this guy again, but.. that'd be wrong. She hoped not to see him again, because this feeling had to disappear.

Was it something he said? Kaen couldn't really tell for sure, perhaps he was reading the situation all wrong... She gave a hesitant - Uhh.... - before notifying him that she had to be on her way. - I'm sorry, I actually have some work to do. Thank you for your help and sorry I made you all wet, have a nice day. - Kaen watched as she turned her back to him and walked away. Kaen just stood there and watched in silence as she faded into the distance. She seemed to pause a moment before turning a corner to look back once more. Kaen smiled and waved and then she was gone. He secretly hoped he would cross paths with her once more, something about her seemed different, yet familiar... Kaen picked up his shit and started to head out, it was then he noticed it. A lone scarf caught in a bush, it's fibers floating lightly in the wind. Kaen retrieved in and examined it. Was this hers? It had to have been... nobody else was around. He clutched it firmly and secreted it away into his bag. Perhaps in the future he could return it to her, given that they met again. This was beginning to sound like a fairy tail...
