Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Ever since that meeting at the Kazekage tower between Roku, Kazuki, Kuro, 'Fuu' and Mikaboshi, something had troubled Sousuke. Michi ... or rather Fuu as Sousuke knew her as had said something troubling that Roku was unwell. After the battle with Barnyx, Sousuke was beginning to piece it together. Drawings, strings of yarn, and pictures. There was a section of the Kazekage tower that was 'more secretive' than others, and Sousuke kept alot of those. The room was a mess, but that was due to the connections of pictures and aforementioned strings. There were pictures in the room with red writing on it. Sometimes there were curse written across it. For example: 'Who the &^#! is Shihakata Rioshi' was in the middle of the picture, and surrounding it in a different coloured ink was written Takahashi Shiori. Another would be a picture of Shouki with the various words written on that as well, most of them were character descriptions of a murderer. There was the a picture of Fuu, but that had been replaced with a picture of Michi which simply said one word 'bitch'. The original picture of Fuu had more words, of a less terrible sounding nature. There was a picture of Susumu with an upside-down question mark in neon yellow. A picture of the Wind Daimyo was present too with a giant skull placed upon his face. That picture had strings going into no less than nine directions which led to the word 'Ancient' written in bold, which then shot down to various courts, and then shot down to the new threat the Sovereign which had Fuu/Michi's file clippings. SLAVE TRADE was another connection word, which Sousuke had placed down a schedule and a hit list of sorts. There was a new clipping about the wedding which Sousuke wrote in red 'I hate weddings'. There was a picture of Yume with the word 'gone' written on it which was next to a picture of Okibi and Harupia which both said gone. A picture of Uri was torn in half but taped back together which read the word 'THREAT'. Katuso's hand drawn picture had one half the former 'True King' and the other half was Mikaboshi. Suffice to say, sometimes Sousuke had to collapse his mind palace, and this was perhaps the best physical presentation of it. Roku too had a picture, which had written on it 'UnWeLL'

Suffice to say, Sousuke was going to do multiple things. One check in on one of his surviving best friends. Two check in on his sennin. Three ... do something incredibly different which was go out on a social gathering with both. Sousuke would find himself going to Roku's apartment which was ... in, well it was alright. Untouched by that fire the two of them had put out some time ago. This was honestly a first, visiting Roku in his natural habitat. Sousuke wondered if this was going to be like his cousin's room ... not Matsu, but Jin'ichi who had gone missing (like several others in his life). Were there going to bottles upon bottles, and a mess that needed cleaning? Sousuke suspected that perhaps somewhere Roku was a neat and tidy person, like most military people. Sousuke would, with the exception of that room in the Kazekage tower, would consider himself neat and tidy. He made a mess with paperwork but that was fine. He would find Roku's apartment and knock on the door three times. "Roku. I know you're home. We have to do that thing that I do not do on a regular basis, we need to go out socializing and the likes. If you fail to answer the door in eight minutes, I will pick the lock and enter regardless. Bear in mind that what I am doing is a legal version of breaking and entry, less breaking more entry."<i></i>

[col]The knocking would send his eyes snapping open. Upon opening, he would simply glare up and into his ceiling until the words of Sousuke would reach his ears. There would be a slight smirk, as this was the most Sousuke of comments to make. While he was curious about watching the Kage break into his apartment, he didn't want the weirdo going overboard and causing any unnecessary damage to his door or the lock. This was his first true apartment of his own, after leaving Saemon and his home from underground, so he wanted to keep it nice for a bit before it was inevitably destroyed by some freak accident that seemed to happen regularly in these parts.

Pulling himself up off his couch, he would make his way to his front door. He had only recently made his way back to this apartment, a thin veil of dust had settled upon most items within it. Even prior to his recent adventure into the Expanse, he rarely used his actual living quarters do to his efforts with the ANBU, his own investigations and his work under a different mask. He was a busy man, so it was nice to catch a little cat nap in a nice location, especially since he paid for it.

Opening the door, he would be standing before Sousuke without a shirt on and some pants he had slept in. His new hairstyle was not held up and lying wild around his shoulders. His exposed upper body would be a display of newly gained markings that looked like various tattoos and the wealth of scars he had on his body from his service to the village and his old hobby of drinking and fighting.

"Hello, how may I help?"

Sousuke would find himself staring at Roku for several moments in silence. He still wasn't used to his friend's new appearance. Some people styled their hair daily, others just ... styled their bodies. Sousuke's brows would furrow as what Roku had said seemed to ... not strike a nerve, but it bothered Sousuke. "Come on Roku. You don't get to act like we've never done this before. You know, that I know, that you know I've seen this new look before. It was once, but you know that I can fully observe an individual and acquire most of the data I need."<i></i> The exception of this was Michi/Fuu. In her case she was no longer human, but more importantly she was considered a member of the Deep Court. It was a rather concerning notion, now that a human ... was no longer really a human but certainly not an Ancient. "Fuu ... or Michi did say something that does not sit well with me. She said that you were unwell. I decided to check in with you, so I guess going back to your original statement, yes you can help me. Help me, help you."<i></i>

He would look about Roku's apartment. "This does look nice though. Less messy than some rooms in the Kazekage tower, and I have to suspect you leave most of your Journeymen tools in your vault at the Order Hall."<i></i> Sousuke sort of expected a little bit of a mess. This was Roku after all. Roku had matured over the years, and had become responsible, but somewhere he was still that loud mouth slightly ill tempered reckless young adult. Roku had grown up, but all the same there were some characteristics one could not discard. He pointed to the tattoos/scars that now littered his body. "So. Did you walk into a meat grinder or have you been picking fights with people and or things that ... should not necessarily be engaged alone."<i></i>

[col]Sousuke would mention the name of the woman and the name of what she had become, and a tenseness would wash over his body. If he had been wearing a shirt it might not have been as noticeable, but him tensing up would be hard to miss. Either way, he would not fixate on it himself.

"Worried about how I am feeling... well, honestly, I think these two scars came from you quickdrawing on me instead of the gigantic worm..."

It was overwhelmingly meant to be a joking statement, but also to remind Sousuke that the Roku never forgets.

"The rest of them are a testament of my service, my poor decisions and my dedication to hone this lump of flesh as a weapon. That was sort of brother--Saemon's push on that. I guess he wasn't far off..."

His brother wanted to weaponize him, the clan that took him in wanted to weaponize him and the figure lurking behind the Sovereign wanted to weaponize him; ultimately, he ended up just how he was intended. There was a crisis of self in that realization, but nothing that he still dwelled upon. His time out in the desert alone had been cathartic in that sense.

"Oh, and I guess this one was unique as well."

Upon saying it he would wave his missing left hand up into the air. He had not put on the metallic piece that Sousuke gave him as a temporary band-aid, nor did he have a chance to build something himself yet, even though he had other options he could explore when the time came. He would make his way to his fridge and pull two bottles of waters from it. Tossing one over to Sousuke he would make his own way to his couch and plop down on it. There were a couple of other seats he could choose or he could join him on the couch.

"Yea, its nice but still not use to using it or being up on the surface... honestly, though, who has time for sleep nowadays?"

He would turn his attention back to the Kage as a more serious look would appear on his face.

"So was there something specific you had on your mind or just checking up on my wellbeing your big reason for venturing over here?"

Sousuke got the joke Roku was presenting him with, Sousuke would hold out his hand and a plasma creation would be featured. "Next time we fight a sandworm I will break its sections of the cranium carapace and plant a device in it so I can probably control it. That way it will not start screaming and causing an information overload meant to tamper with the senses leading me to end up cutting it and not you... but wait if we can control sandworms why would we need to kill it then? Curiosities abounds."<i></i>Sometimes it was a dangerous thing to give Sousuke an idea. Someday Roku would give Sousuke an idea for something that would someday change the world, either for the absolute worst or for the absolute best. It would likely be for the worst. Perhaps Roku would someday find a far more metallic Sousuke rather than a fleshy one with an agenda to create a world cast in metal. Hopefully not. Well, perhaps if Sousuke's world went to the absolute worst state of existence then such an agenda would arise?

Sousuke would catch the bottle of water thrown at him and he would join Roku on the couch. He didn't break the seal yet on the plastic cap. Sousuke always wondered what kind of brother Saemon was, and seemingly he got his answer. Sousuke opened his mouth, he wanted to comment on the matter. He was thinking to say something to make Roku feel better, but the words did not immediately come. "Do you ... do you ever get angry with my decision to keep you alive?"<i></i> He finally spoke, "I've had a lot of regrets in my life, but keeping you around isn't one of them, and that's because you've been a true friend to me. Friends do come and go, but you've been one to stick around through thick and thin. Hell, you've survived a meeting with my grandmother and ... well ... er..."<i></i> There was a hard way of saying that his grandmother was ... well, based on personalities you would have never thought the two related. "My grandmother ... enjoys the company of men in a very intimate setting who are a third of her age for ... very short amount of time. Sometimes they come back wanting more, and ... it's odd... considering ... well I think you get it."<i></i> He revealed in a somewhat confused state.

"To be honest. I do miss the underground. This surface living is quite foreign to me, and I still say ... despite it being a number of years after the storm died out. Perhaps it's just more used to the fact I've spent my life down there in the deep dark."<i></i> He reflected, at the remark of having time to sleep or find time to sleep in the day Sousuke would shake his head. "I don't sleep, and I don't dream. Kimi, a family friend, she wanted me to try and get at least four hours of sleep a day. Tried that and did not get to form the habit in the six weeks one requires to truly form a habit. There is too much to do in the day, and I'll sleep enough when I've ceased function entirely."<i></i> He would explain. He would pause for a moment. Roku would ask him if was his wellbeing or anything specific. "Both."<i></i> He answered. He would shifted his head slightly from side to side as if mulling it over. "Sixty-seven percent to check in on you, and to make sure you're healthy. Thirty-three percent to ... socialize ... and talk things out. Overall a one hundred percent ... friend thing."<i></i>
