Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The Aion the Dawnbringer memorial stood as tall as ever, the young student standing there, gazing up at it for a good moment before he began to feel small, then dropped his head so he was looking forward and walked towards the fountain, promptly sitting on the concrete that separated the water from the rest of the world around it. The air around him was cool, calming- enough to make the child relax despite the many people around him laughing, going on about their day. Pushing blue hair behind his ears, Yasushi pulled the pair of purple headphones up to cover those said ears, pressing the play button at the side.

Faint ocean waves crashing against the shore could be heard from the boy’s headphones, watching as people passed him. A woman with her child in tow holding ice-cream and pointing to random passerby’s. A man buying his girlfriend jewelry, the same woman’s face lighting up in joy as the man handed her the gift. But if he closed his eyes- if he listened carefully; he could picture himself away from all of the city noise, and in a place much calmer-. His happy place- and like that, Yasushi felt at ease with the world. For now, at least.

Now would be the time where he’d pull out the book he had in his satchel, though he was stuck in his nice happy place. It wasn’t until a few moments later when the boy inhaled, then exhaled, softly, though it was enough to pull him back into reality. A man scolds his son for touching objects in a shop that he hadn’t paid for. A team of Genin sat at a table at an eatery. Gently Yasushi reached into his bag, and pulled out his book.

医者のテクニック—The Techniques of a Doctor

He read over the title, something Yasushi had done plenty of times within the last week of reading the book. It was his father’s of course, and a big read, though it wasn’t as if there was kids books for him to read anyways. Opening to the bookmarked page, page 352, and began reading. Reaching up with his left hand, Yasushi clicked the next button on his headphones, changing the gentle sounds to gentle beats. To most people the music would more than likely make them fall asleep. Not Yasushi. To the child the music gave him energy, in a strange way.

Despite, having grown up the Cloud and knowing most if not all of the village, Toshiaiki was exploring. This was more due to his want to find someone new rather than wanting to find something new. It was likely that if he tried hard enough he would find something new - the people in the village served to make sure that nothing stayed exactly as he had last seen it - but he didn't want to find new things today. A new person, however, with whom he could make friends with, was another thing entirely.

Of course, the new person wasn't exactly new, Toshiaiki had seen them before, sitting down and reading or just listening to their headphones but never really interacting with anyone. He wondered why. Wasn't it sad not to have friends? Sure, he didn't exactly have any close friends but he still talked to people and most of them listened. He couldn't imagine not talking to many people and just being quiet. Was the kid even okay?

Just the he spotted the person he was looking for. A girl, he thinks, with how feminine she looked that would make sense but he had never been close enough to find out. Maybe today he'd figure out by talking to them- her?

He walked over to the fountain that she was sitting on and held out his hand for a handshake. "My name's Saito Toshiaiki! What's yours?"

He was aware of the book she was reading and the fact that she had her headphones on, likely listening to music but that didn't stop him from talking. He didn't mind if he would have to repeat himself, so long as his actions got her attention. After all, she looked like she could use a friend so he wasn't going to let a pair of headphones or a book stop him. Even if nothing was actually wrong he would still like to have a friend and why not be hers when it seemed like she didn't really have any?

And if something was wrong then maybe he could help her? there wasn't actually much he could do yet but that didn't mean he couldn't try. If it turned out that there was absolutely nothing he could do despite his best efforts he could still be there for her. Maybe his mom would cook something for them too? She was nice enough that she might if he asked but he wasn't certain if they would have the money to feed another mouth or not- He'd have to ask his mom then his new friend first.

His new friend. He wasn't going to take silence for an answer- They were going to become friends if it was the last thing he did. Well...maybe not that last thing he did. He didn't want to die just to become her friend but he was willing to do other stuff, like climbing some stupid tall building as a test of faith or any other strange things she could request for him to do to prove he meant well. He doubted she would do that, just judging by how quiet she was she didn't seem to be the person who would request something insane but he knew he would do it anyways if it meant being her friend.

He sat next to her, silently making it clear that he wasn't going to just leave if she didn't answer him. He was determined to make her his friend today-

A hand sticking out in front of his face caught his attention- muffled talking could be heard over his music, though none of it was heard truly heard no understood. Yasushi stared up into the random boy’s dark, deep blue eyes with his lighter ocean blue eyes for a long moment before removing his headphones hesitantly. What could this boy possibly want-? Most people ignored Yasushi’s presence. The young boy stared up at the boy with a faint puzzled look written all over his face.

“…Can I help you..?” The blue haired boy spoke, cautious but curious as to why even approach him in the first place- he didn’t even take the time to ask the boy what he had said, nor what his name was. His peaceful moment was interjected by bring obnoxious pink- and it slightly peeved him in all honesty. It wasn’t as calm as he would have liked, though he recognized that the world did not revolve around him, he wasn’t one to actively choose to be around those who held the more rambunctious aura, as this boy clearly had.

“If I’m in the way I can move-“ The child spoke, his eyes looking off to the side for a split second. The Amari child wasn’t exactly comfortable with how close the boy in the pink jacket was, moving so he looked even smaller than he actually was. “-If my music is too loud I can turn it down- I don’t want to be a bother-.”

'...Can I help you..?' The other boy said, surprising Toshiaiki some as he realized that the other was, in fact, a boy. Not that that would change anything, of course. He still wanted to do anything he could to become the other's friend, boy or girl didn't matter to him so long as he was at least somewhat nice-

He frowned lightly as the boy continued speaking. There was no doubt about it, the other boy was nice but he seemed a little too nice? Acting as if what he was doing, all by himself at the fountain, could possibly have been bothering him. He didn't like that- didn't like that the other kid seemed as if he didn't want to be in the way of anyone else, as if he had to be smaller just to make sure everyone else has enough space.

"You're not a bother!" Toshiaiki finally replied with a smile. "I was just wondering who you are. I'm Saito Toshiaiki!"

He held out his hand again, patiently waiting for the other to shake it- if he even would. Toshi wasn't certain if he would or not due to the way he had taken off the headphones, like he really didn't want to be doing that. Hopefully he would at least introduce himself, that way Toshi could work on making him his friend.

A name was always a good start for that but he knew that just knowing the other's name wouldn't make them friends. They would have to talk for a bit first, then maybe agree to hang out? He wasn't certain what all was needed for a friendship since there weren't any actual rules but he figured as long as neither of them upset the other that it shouldn't be too hard for them to become friends.

“I—” Yasushi looked at the boy, Toshiaiki, unsure of what to do, yet shook his hand, albeit hesitantly, with a loose hand ready to pull away at any second. “I’m Yasushi...” He answered quietly. Why would he bother him now-? He recognized who the boy was as soon as he said his name; Tosiaiki was a boy in his class- the nosier of the bunch, and the reason why Yasushi would stop paying attention in class and move ahead on his own. Who needed the distraction? Certainty not him- Yasushi also took the moment to bookmark the page he was reading, without breaking eye contact, though he didn’t bother turning his music off- not yet at the least.

But that was besides the point. The pastel child pulled his hand away, and subtly scooted back a bit obtaining the space he wanted, and needed. “So- what are you doing here-?” The younger boy asked. He wanted to ask so many things- why choose to bother him-? Didn’t he have more interesting friends he could hang out with? Why specifically did it have to be Yasushi that he approached? And that frown- though it was a slight and very fleeting one, made him wonder what the boy’s intentions really were.

A child screeching at his mother for not buying him ice-cream made Yasushi jump ever so slightly, recognizing the two people to the left of him, but not making any notion to take the full glance he wanted to. The boy standing before him, demanding his attention robbed him of his observation skills for the moment, as it was rude to not give his full attention to someone while they were talking to him, was it not? Or at least that’s what Yuji taught him, and what his father constantly reminded him of.

Yasushi, that was a nice name. Toshi was going to do everything he could to remember it to, if only to make it clear that the other kid wasn't just in the way but was someone that others wanted to be around and remember.

"It's nice to meet you!" He proclaimed as he shook the other's hand, grip tighter than the other's but not enough to actually hurt. Why was Yasushi's grip so light? It wasn't like it would hurt him and even if it did that would be his own fault since he asked for the hand shake to begin with- There really was no point to be so...hesitant in all of his actions.

He knew they had already met through all technicalities but this was the first time they had ever really talked or told each other their names. Actually, he hadn't seen anyone really talk with the boy in their school either. He was always stuck in that book of his- or well, a book for school more likely but Toshi hadn't been paying that much attention to him, just enough to know that he was really quiet and didn't seem like he had many friends.

He didn't move closer to the other as he moved away a little. He probably was a little too close to him, especially because they barely knew each other. Speaking of, that was why he was here. "I was looking for you! You're always so quiet and you don't really talk to anyone- plus you seem pretty cool! So I thought maybe we could get to know each other and be friends!"

He stopped talking as the child cried at his mother for the ice cream, gaze flickering over to them even though he knew he should stay focused in the conversation. He wanted to buy the kid ice cream just to make him stop crying, and maybe make him smile, but he knew he couldn't. Not only would the mother likely disapprove as it would teach the kid to cry if he doesn't get his way but Toshi didn't exactly have the money for that either- He had to make sure his mom could pay bills, after all.

After a moment he looked back at Yasushi. "What do you think? Can we be friends?" Sure, they hadn't done the getting to know you part yet but Toshi figured if he agreed then it would make becoming actual friends even easier.
