Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A Reason to Celebrate [Private]

The barking on the floor suddenly stopped when Kitchenzilla rumbled into the room. Okibi couldnt see them, but she was pretty sure the mechanical lizard was growling at Zen. When she saw the spotted pup dart around the table and duck behind Peaches, she was sure of it. Funnily enough, the little devil who seemed to fear nothing was afraid of their precious Kitchy!

Seven laughed doggishly at Zen's retreat and smiled amicably at Kitchy. "Kitchenzilla, its been a while. Have you been polished recently?"

As the cake was cut and set on plates before them, Okibi clapped, enjoying Sousuke's display of technique. "Mighty fine cake cutting." She said before she dug her fingers into the tip of her slice and popped it into her mouth. She chewed it . . . and chewed come more . . . and some more. Sadly, no matter how long she kept it in her mouth, it stayed the same, tasteless. Despite Sousuke's attempt to bake it 'with love', there was still absolutely nothing about the desert that made her feel like she was munching on more than some moist, crumbly foam.

Swallowing, Okibi forced herself to smile and take another bite. She nodded along with Tama, who admitted that the cake was 'interesting'. There was no denying that of course, a tasteless cake was indeed interesting. "Very interesting." She mumbled around her mouthful, then swallowed again. Sighing loudly and pushing her plate away, Okibi leaned back and patted her flat stomach. "Aah, I'm full."

Standing up, Okibi collected her and the pups plates and set them in the sink before walking around the table to Sousuke's side. She hugged him from behind and gave him a loud peck on the cheek. "Thank you for the cake and gifts Sogay. I loved them." Straightening up, she looked across the table at Tama, her eyes smoldering. "But I want my other gifts now, so I think Tama and I are going to make ourselves scarce."

Turning around, she eyed the pups on the floor. "Seven, you'll stay and keep Sousuke company? Maybe read him a bedtime story as he broods about losing to a girl?" She grinned, and squeezed Sousuke's shoulder lightly, so he knew she was joking. Seven barked out a laugh and nodded.

"Of course."

From behind Peaches, Zen piped up. "Pretty pathetic that he needs cheering up just because he took a few punches from a female. What a wuss." Peaches glared at him over her shoulder and bumped him away from her with her hip.

Okibi chuckled and walked over to the kitchens doorway, she paused at the threshold and looked back at Sousuke. "By the way, I want to hear about this female youre supposedly courting when I get back." For a moment her face was incredibly serious and slightly fierce. It was no secret that she was protective of the steward. Turning the other way once she said her piece, she held her hand out to Tama with a smile. "Shall we?"

[Topic half-left after Tama's next post!]

Kitchy was chummy with Number Seven. Nodding her head and being quite pleased with the fact he was back. She remarked about his new white fur and how he looked dandy in it. Then when Zen began to speak ill of Sousuke, the lumbering mechanical beat turned and trotted to Zen's side. Kitchenzilla stood tall, and leaned back for a moment before emitting a most disturbing and loud roar. This roar was most unnatural given Kitchy's most approachable nature, but the roar was most befitting of Kitchenzilla's size and shape. The roar shook the house and Sousuke sat there eating his cake as if nothing was happening. The roar was filled with anger and threats, how he should be grateful about being fed, and about Zen calling the kettle black. The great beast would then turn to Peaches/Lady and would nod her head and let out a small woof which consisted of a greeting, and how nice it would be to have another female canine in the house.

When Tama spoke of what Okibi knew what he was like, the Steward gave him a bored look. "...And what exactly do you like? Wait. Don't answer that."<i></i> He would simply fold his hands together and begin to figure out what kind of person Tama truly was. Sousuke relaxed a bit as the answers came to him slowly but surely. "Ah. I don't have to worry. Much."<i></i> With that Sousuke eat another piece of cake. His eyes would narrow as what he feared most had come to past. Again. No taste in his foods. This was his third time cooking, and this happened yet again. "It happened again. I will overcome this fault. Some day. Apparently love is not an ingredient that will change things."<i></i> Sousuke shook his head. "A lack of taste fascinates you. Hrrmm... "<i></i> Sousuke's eyes then shifted over to Okibi who seemed most ... interested as well in the lack of taste? Surely not. She was ... lying? Most disturbing.

Sousuke ate his last piece of cake with elegance. When Okibi gave him a kiss and hug, Sousuke turned around and gave her hand a quick tug. "Do listen to me and try and remain in one piece when you come back? I don't want to have to appear at Tama's house in the Mark II prepared to take down assassins, ruffians, and undesirables? If you're not back before dinner tomorrow I'm going to Tama's house in the Mark II regardless."<i></i> Sousuke hoped that him mentioning the Mark II was enough to make the two of them realize what he was saying, and the its severe nature. "I'll talk to you about you-know-who later later. Assuming you know who I'm talking about, but I'm sure you do."<i></i>

Oh no, no, you should have to worry about anything when it comes to us. Not like either of us are well known for causing mass hysteria and exploding buildings,” he responded to Sousuke as he took Okibi’s hand and they walked towards the door. He raised a hand in farewell and as the door opened to reveal the coming night air Tama turned around and spoke up,
Oh! And get in touch with me soon about that invention I we were talking about a long while back. I still think it has some serious practical application in surface traveling.

He felt his arm being jerked and his body following in suit so that he was dragged out of the house in a way so the couple could finally begin their long walk back to his house.

[Topic Left. Sorry for the lackluster post, I was burning out when I got to this one XDD]

Seven watched Okibi and Tama leave with a curious expression. Once the shaking that Kitchy's roar had caused died down, he hopped up onto a chair near the Steward, leaving the female pets to chat. Zen had run off the second Kitchy turned her scaryness on him, and he was now cowering under a couch in the living room. Mostly likely he wouldnt be coming out until the big metal lizard was gone.

"So, Sousuke . . ." Seven stopped talking when he realized something. He blinked at the man, then dropped his head with a sigh. "I can't talk to you in this form . . . " Jumping from the chair, Seven raced out of the kitchen, barking loudly along the way.

When he came back, he was in his human form again. He'd caught up with Okibi and Tama and had his human change his forms for ease of communication. He really did not feel like trying to sign to Sousuke all evening.

The pup turned boy sat back down at the table, crossing his arms on the top of it. "So, what story do you want me to read to you?" He asked with a teasing grin.

Under the table, Peaches started to paw at Sousuke's pantleg with a whine, wanting to be picked up. Seven peeked under the table and laughed. "Maybe we should give them baths first. Theyre kind of dirty."

Sousuke stared at Number Seven, a very slow grin formed on his face. "No. That won't be necessary."<i></i> He looked around the corner to make sure that Okibi wasn't around. "I have some work to do... but yes let's give them a bath."<i></i> Sousuke left the room and returned with a bucket of soapy water with several towels. He reached down and picked up Lady and brought her into the living room. He set down the bucket, grabbed the remote and turned on the television. He channel hopped until he got the news. Something he was always in the mood for. "Some things ... I need to listen to."<i></i>

He placed the pup into the bucket and began to clean her while he listened to the news. "A disturbing attack at Paragon temple tonight. Three priestesses were killed brutally by what Anbu forces have described as the Silent Slayer." Sousuke's expression did not change as he listened, but his eyes shifted over to the television as he took lady by the paw gently and cleaned her. "This makes the third attack this month. The priestesses were found with no blood in their veins, and particular organs missing. Anbu seem to think that this is a medical nin gone rogue, and others have thought it to be something supernatural." The television swapped to the scene where there were three outlines of bodies on the floor. Sousuke's eyes narrowed as he proceeded to work on the next paw of the female pup.

The Steward merely paused as the story went on. "He's got it wrong, that makes six. Six this month. They can't co-relate the murder in the Diamond District because that was kept mum. I was leading the investigation."<i></i> Sousuke spoke and wrung the cloth and began to wash Lady's face. "I was able to figure out that the murderer was human. Oddly though ... he was quite good at covering his tracks. Most people aren't they usually leave an accidental calling card. Hair. A knife.Something. This person is afraid of me, or knows of me. He knows what I'm capable of, and so we're playing at a game, he and I. A game of shadows."<i></i> Sousuke then took Lady out of the bucket and began to dry her.

"With these violent murders on the rise, one has to wonder, when will it end?" The TV anchor would say. "The Anbu when questioned if this was taken to the Steward issued no reply."

Sousuke's expression soured. "It ends when he leaves me a sign of sorts. I was one time left a single item of interest. It was a scalpel. I traced it back to the point of it being bought, but the purchaser was not the murderer. It was stolen from him, by some local thug... who then sold it for a profit oddly to a mysterious individual."<i></i> Sousuke finished drying Lady off and sat her on the couch. "Griefer? Griefer come. Time for a bath."<i></i> Sousuke would call out.

While Sousuke gathered the pups and a tub of water, Seven made his way to the bathroom to gather a couple towels to dry them with afterwards. He walked into the living room carrying the fluffy things, and set them beside him on the couch where he took a seat. Sousuke seemed perfectly suited to doing the bathing himself, so the pup in human clothing decided to sit by and watch. The sound of the reporter on the television caught his attention, and Seven's brow furrowed when he clued in to what was being reported.

"Some humans . . . I just cant stand." He said with a growl. It was then that Sousuke's spoke up about the reporters number of deaths being wrong. What? Just how many people were being killed? Six this month? By the sand and wind . . . what was the village coming to?

Seven sat back with a grunt, glaring at the television screen and the outline of the bodies that were no longer there. Humans . . . sometimes he believed he would never truly understand them.

When Sousuke was finished bathing and drying Peaches, he set her on the couch beside him, her fur looking at least three times as fluffy as it was before. She shook herself out, getting the few remaining drops of water on him. Then she got down on her belly and peeked under the couch at Zen's shaking form. "Yeah, cmon Grief. Your turn!"

Zen shook his head vehemently. "No way, not while that thing is out there."

The sound of Kitchy's stomping feet shook the wooden floors of the room. She hunkered down behind the couch, right behind Zen, who suddenly stopped shaking, his eyes growing wide. The metal lizard emitted a threatening growl that had Zen darting out from under the couch. Before he could get far, Seven leaped from the couch and caught him, and haulled his scrawny wiggling body to the tub where he plopped the pup with a small splash.

Zen sat in the sudsy water, frowning with great displeasure.

"I'm doing all that I can Number Seven to contain this."<i></i> Sousuke attempted to reassure his canine friend. He began as he started to wash Griefer. Despite his harsh words from earlier, Sousuke was very gentle with the pup as he could be. "Things just metaphorically slip out of my hands. Granted the Anbu are at a stand-still. They're doing their best. I've instructed them to--"<i></i> The phone began to rang. Sousuke with his hands wet looked over at it. Number Seven merely reached out and picked up the receiver and held it for Sousuke. "Speaking. Yes. I'm watching it now."<i></i> Sousuke's eyes narrowed. "Say that again. No. Exactly as you just said it."<i></i> There was a pause from Sousuke as he wrung the cloth above Griefer's head. He then began to wash the pup's face and opened his jaw. The Steward's movements were calculated. He inspected the pup for damage. He then shifted Griefer in the bucket and looked at his wounds from earlier. "The anchorman? He's not well informed. Is there a connection? Yes. It's the same technique. It is. No. You're simply seeing, not observing, those cuts they're done with absolute precision. It's like a surgeon. No it's not the calling card I'm looking for."<i></i> Sousuke continued to listen to the other person on the end.

He pulled Griefer out and began to dry him as well, neatly. Absent minded Sousuke was so engrossed in the conversation he had acquired a comb and even began combing Griefer neatly. "You're sure? No chakra signatures? No. I was not aware. When did you--? Oh. Yes. Don't let that get published. They'll go nuts. Yes. I used the word nuts, it sounded appropriate. I did use it properly right? Oh good. Yes. Get that report to me now. I'd appreciate that. Thanks."<i></i> When Seven hung up the phone, Griefer looked like ... well ... he was well groomed, a little too well in fact. Sousuke's eyes shifted over to Lady. "I have made an error it would seem."<i></i>

A ring came at the door, which Sousuke answered and returned to the room with a report. He began glancing over the material. He was still listening to the television. He changed station thought to get another perspective. "A wild animal on the loose some think. Others think that someone came out of Keystone Prime... a great black hound with the intelligence of..." Sousuke quickly changed the channel again.

"Morons."<i></i> He took a seat and began looking over the report. "I had Daisuke Traci do a follow up report. He's not as thorough as I am, but he's ex-Anbu. He's coming to the same conclusion I am, that the murderer is a surgeon, or was instructed by one. He thinks it's a ghost walker, I don't think it is because ghost walkers leave chakra signatures."<i></i> Sousuke raised his head as he listened to the television go on about some resurrected crime lord at work possibly. "Is it me or their ideas get stupider? I swear, at this rate they're going to lower the IQ of everyone in Suna. They get ratings, sure, but sensationalistic news is not helping me here."<i></i> Sousuke made a motion for everyone to follow him through the house.

Ultimately they came to Sousuke's office. He turned on the light revealing a most elaborate display. Several pictures of individuals with Xs on them and several threads pointing to a picture of a blackened out individual with a question mark on his face. "First he started out with one murder a month, then one again, then two and so on. It's been like this for a year now. At first I didn't concern myself. When I began to show interest that's when the death toll increased. This is just one case that I've been working harder on ... in addition to several others. Those have come to quicker and meaningful ends. This though is a challenge."<i></i>

As Seven held the phone to Sousuke's ear, his frown deepened. He couldnt hear the other end of the conversation, but it didnt sound good. When Sousuke was finished bathing Zen, he picked him up out of the tub and started to dry him. Seven looked down and chuckled when he saw the very disturbed look on the pups face once the brush was taken to his coat. Peaches seemed to think it was funny as well, laughing as she was from the couch.

Seven went to put the phone away when the conversation was over. He stood beside the couch when a ring came from the doorbell and Sousuke went to answer it. When he came back, he was shuffling through the papers. Seven looked to to the tv when the channel was changed, and what he heard on this news report bothered him. " A great black hound?" He said out loud to himself.

The channel changed once again and Seven blinked as he looked away. Peaches wiggled happily and tried to weasel her way onto Sousuke's lap while he sat there reading. "A surgeon? A healer? That . . . is troubling." Seven said with a frown. That a person who was supposed to devote their lives to helping others was now taking the lives of helpless villagers . . . Seven wasnt sure how to take such news.

When Sousuke got up and motioned for them to follow, the pups fell into a parade, with Zen sticking close to Peaches, as to avoid Kitchy. They followed the Steward into his office, and Seven stopped to gawk at all the strings and all the pictures that were pinned up on the man's wall. It was quite the fantastic web. "So, you think this perp was waiting for you? Do you think he was trying to get your attention?"

Sousuke was silent for a time as he thought about what Number Seven had said. "A surgeon and a healer aren't always the same entity. People often joke that I too am a surgeon of sorts, as I 'surgically slice out cancerous cells that would harm the realm', I am not sure if the same thing applies..."<i></i> Sousuke tapped his chin with his index finger. He was thinking hard. "Black... Hound. Hound."<i></i> Sousuke usually did not pay heed to certain media figures. Sousuke's eyes shifted over to Number Seven. He closed as his eyes as he had to think about the matter. The great cogs and wheels were turning in his head. Sousuke's eyes opened up. "These murders started back a few months when Okibi returned."<i></i> He approached the display.

"Waiting for me? No. I don't think so. People don't wait for me, it's reserved. I wait for people. I wait for people to make a mistake before I take action usually, but this mystery man hasn't made one. He's got my attention, but I don't think he wanted that to happen. Now that's he's got my attention he's..."<i></i> Sousuke paused for a moment. "People of my intellect are far and few between. That's not an insult... and I'm sure none of my personal staff would do this behind my back. None of them have been ... ..."<i></i> Sousuke paused. It seemed as if he was struck by lightning. The Steward's eyes shifted to another case on his board. It wasn't related, or so Sousuke thought in the slightest. The expression that came across Sousuke's face was grim. The murder he thought of was done by outlandish creatures. The Unbent. He had dealt with them before, and while their technique was different, they too were surgeons, of a sort, but ... then there was one person who he knew little of. "In your time, and limited experiences with humans ... before you met me, and found Okibi. The doctor, who I am loathe to speak of, did he have any relatives? What do you suppose he was? A chemist, or a biologist? Did he bare any ... signifying marks? A house symbol or anything?"<i></i>

Seven looked at all the photos with X's on them, staggered by the amount of people whod been killed by the same person. All of this, done by one man, and no one was able to catch him? He was shaken from his dark thoughts when Sousuke asked him about a person he hadnt thought about in years. He turned to Sousuke with a wide eyed look.

"The Doctor?" He breathed softly. His eyes strayed towards the ground as he became lost in hateful memories. Why couldnt those, at least, have been erased when he was reborn? He gave himself an abrupt, full body shake, before it could be seized by the uncontrollable shivers caused by irrational fear and anger.

"He . . . dabbled in a lot of things. He burned my eyes out of my skull using a chemical . . . he cut into me with scalpels more times than I could count." Seven's voice caught in his throat and he brought his hand up to cover his mouth. If he thought about it anymore, he was going to be sick. "I dont think he had any kind of family. It was only ever just him . . . and me."

Taking a deep breath, he looked back at Sousuke. "Why do you ask about him? You dont think hes behind all this do you? That can't be possible. I k-killed him when I escaped all those years ago."

Sousuke regretted few things, and this was one of them to be added to the list. He watched his canine friend shiver and shake. Sousuke kneeled down and placed his hands on Number Seven's shoulders. It took the canine a few moments to get a hold of himself. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked. The general rule is that once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."<i></i> Sousuke shook his head. "I'm not saying that ... this is the end result, the answer, or a truth. Merely a possibility. It is something that I have to consider. When people are called Doctor, they are given that term due to their intellect... whether it is used for good or for ill."<i></i> Sousuke stood up. He seemed to drink in the details that Number Seven had given him. So. He had no family. He was dead. Yet he seemed to be a surgeon of sorts. Sure. They found a scalpel at a site some time ago, but ... it had no prints on it. It was clean, but given the fact that Number Seven mentioned him being a chemist...

"Hrrrmmm..."<i></i> Sousuke attended his display again. "I once battled a creature once called the Djinn. I battled a monstrous insectoid monstrosity who claims to have absorbed the essence of a ghost. Sometimes I question everything I know, due to these exceptional situations I am subjected to. Doubt gnaws at me Number Seven. I doubt that I can carry out this job as well as my father did. I may be Guardian Protectorate of the Realm, but I couldn't repel the Djinn before it did great harm and destroyed the hospital. I couldn't find you or Okibi when you two went missing."<i></i> Sousuke had his back turned. "I fear that I've overlooked something, or misread a sign. Usually I am right but I am coming up short here... or perhaps in my attempts to be superior, I have merely become inferior..."<i></i> Sousuke shook his head. "Do you trust me Number Seven? Do you trust me and all my wit and knowledge to figure this out? Have I been making the right choices, or have I always been wrong?"<i></i>

Seven's kneed wobbled and he fell to a seat on the floor. Peaches came up to him and sniffed him, askng if he was alright. Zen glared from behind her, but said nothing. Seven smiled at the freshly washed pup and patted her on the head. "I'm fine." He said, though on the inside he felt anything but. Before, he didnt have much problem dealing with his past. In his old body, it had become custom to wake up a few nights a week because of old nightmares. He'd become so good at taking it in stride that he never woke Okibi up because of them. But in his new body, which was still so young and untried, he found that handling that old fear was very difficult.

He looked up as Sousuke started going on about his faults and failings. His brow furrowed. "You're too hard on yourself Sousuke. You do what you can, and that's all anyone can ask of you." He said, as if it were so simple. Seven didnt know what it was like, to lead an entire village; to have thousands of people looking to you for guidance in trying times.

Nevertheless, he couldnt let his human friend put himself down so harshly.

"I do trust you Sousuke. With my life." Seven said earnestly, still seated on the floor. He looked away as his mind drifted into the past, starting at the time when he'd had no choice but to venture to a human village, because his most precious treasure had been sick beyond what he could handle. "You took in a pair of strangers because they needed help. You invited a monster into your home, even though your initial judgement deemed him unsafe." He looked up again, his eyes glistening. "If you are saying that you think you've only ever made wrong choices . . . then I'm sorry, but you are an absolute fool."

"Thank-you Number Seven."<i></i> Sousuke would simply say at first. The Steward was not an Inuzuka, but he always felt like he had strong bonds of friendship with Number Seven. Sousuke held his hands behind his back. This foe. He would be conquered. He would be bested. It may be time, but time was something Sousuke had. Sousuke turned from the display to face Number Seven and the pups. "It's hard sometimes... and I don't often hear words or actions of praise."<i></i> Sousuke's gaze shifted from Number Seven to Lady. The newest female addition to the household seemed to be most happy and blissful to be in his presence.

Sousuke pulled out from his watch a pocket watch. He looked at the time, it was getting pretty late. "11:42pm. I best get some rest. Today was tiring, alot of new things today, and I'm sure you too have had a most exhausting first day. All of you."<i></i> Sousuke would make motion for them to follow him out of the room. Sousuke picked up the new pups and brought them upstairs to his room.

The Steward prepared for bed, but before that he searched for some items. Some cardboard, old pillows and a quilt. Within moments he fashioned three beds for Seven, Griefer and Lady. He even took out a needle and thread and sewed their names into the fabrics. Number Seven. Griefer aka Zen. Peaches, formally known as Lady. A small chuckle escaped Sousuke's lips as he set each of them down. "Those should suffice for now, until each of you grow bigger. I'll buy each of you proper beds for the canine sort."<i></i> Sousuke would nod his head as he pulled back his bed sheets and crawled into bed. He snapped his finger and the lights went out. "Good night Seven. Good night Lady. Griefer, don't chew up the cardboard. That needs to last you the night."<i></i> Sousuke rolled over in his bed and closed his eyes. Good night Okibi, and you too Tama. You have my love, and may the ancestors keep you safe this night.<i></i>
