Take didn’t know many things… but he knew one thing very well. Failure.
The exam had been rather troublesome. Challenging. Drawn out paranoia among a few, to say the least. And whoever expected a grandiose finish was a child – they were up against the Hokage, after all. A shinobi was never guaranteed any victories in life – it was something that you built up towards, something that you honed yourself to seize with your very own hands. Failure was but a stepping stone towards that goal… but failure could also be detrimental.
The failure that led to Aria’s hospitalization almost ruined her entire shinobi career. And the failure of a test meant that anger brewed back at Take’s house, carried out by his two lovely parents. Yet as of now, they had no idea, but… Take couldn’t keep it a secret for long. They wanted to have results of his endeavors, if he was doing well or otherwise. And if he did poor, then… he’d have to learn a lesson, right?
After all, his mother was a prodigy. The blood of the Nanjirou was thick and potent in her veins, and she made that clear from a very young age – she saw herself as a once-in-a-lifetime genius. However, at some point, she deluded herself into thinking that her achievements were purely genetic – that somehow, the boy she gave birth to would emulate herself… only to be left with Take. Poor, poor Take…
But he had his own achievements. His own dreams. And unlike his mother, he did not aim to achieve those on his own.
