Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Time to dust off the dojo! Lets see...

- I posted a custom class here, and also chose Cadency as my Core Ability.
- As a C-Rank, I'd like Fire to be my Free Major Affinity, and Non Elemental to be my free minor.

- At this point, I have 6 CA points. I'd like to choose, Musical Casting, Sonic Strike, and Spiraling sound. All of which cost 2 CA points.
---Spiraling Sound gives me free access to the Sound element.

As for abilities;
- Choosing the Elemental Illusion and Shattered Reality abilities;
Azusa would have never imagined that she would have been one to dabble in the arts of Genjutsu. However, after inheriting the Aikayume blood, she had found that she had also inherited some of the abilities of her ancestry.

Notable of among these changes was the capability to shape her chakra into Foxfire; a form of chakra that vaguely fluctuated between a state that was genuine and illusory. Taking the form of floating ethereal flames ranging from light shades of blue to the deepest colors of purple, Azusa found herself able to use this energy to create illusions.

The foxfire accompanying her illusions behaved as normal flames at first glance; they burned their target and filled it with heat. But these flames required no fuel, and acted in ways that real fire could not. Like Genjutsu, the priestess's foxfire did not leave physical signs of damage. But like the mental trauma that could be inflicted through genjutsu, the damage was real even if not physically apparent; perhaps the ghostly flames burned away at the mental state of someone consumed by it? Or burned away at their soul? Azusa was unsure to the exact nature of her new power.

And personally, she wished that she was never in a situation where she would have to find out.

- Shinobi 101 (free slot); I'm choosing Sound Ninjutsu, which I want to use with Genjutsu DC.

Azusa would not be the first one anyone would think of as being capable of multi-tasking. Much less when said multi tasking involved something as intricate as manipulating minds while channeling her chakra through soundwaves created by a flute that she was playing.

But she can do it. Quite naturally, actually, it turns out she actually did have a natural gift that she could put to use.

When Azusa channels her chakra through the sound of her flute, she isn't simply amplifying the soundwaves; she is also altering the mental state of those who hear, giving them the unfortunate of momentarily experiencing a heightened sense of hearing at the worst time possible.

If Azusa wields her flute as a weapon, know that she isn't simply assualting you with a supersonic barrage of soundwaves; she's also making your mind far more receptive to sounds int he first place.

WC: 140
- Also snatching Healing Factor;
The Aikayume blood is, itself, a sacred source of power for those within the clan.

Passed down from mother to daughter each generation, the one possessing the blood holds the position of being the Aikayume's priestess. Often called the Bright Blood, Blue Blood and other such monikers by the Aikayume, it is both a blessing and a curse; for while it contains the power of the previous generations of Aikayume priestesses and over shows glimpses and experiences to its current holder, it also burdens Azusa with holding the fate of her clan; the Aikayume are dependent on regular dosages of this glowing blue blood, forever tying her to them.

In its basest form, the Aikayume blood is essentially self-sustaining, only requiring the priestess as a host. As the current priestess, the blood provides Azusa with accelerated healing and maintains her youth until the cycle repeats for the next generation.

- My OOC Rank is C

- As a C-Rank, I'd like Fire to be my Free Major Affinity,
- and Non Elemental to be my free minor.

- At this point, I have 7 CA points. I'd like to choose, Musical Casting, Sonic Strike, and Spiraling sound. All of which cost 2 CA points.
---Spiraling Sound gives me free access to the Sound element.
- I'd also like Subtle Tuning, which costs 1 point

- Activating the Illusionist and Stalker Abilities;
Contrary to her normal direct brash personality, Azusa herself was, unfortunately, not particularly gifted when it came to direct confrontations. She was unskilled at physical fighting, and had poor aim when it came to ranged combat beyond two or three meters. When under pressure, she'd slip up on handseals much too often to rely on more complicated techniques.

But she was not a hopeless cause! She had a knack for deception; a trait she picked up after years of slipping away from her clan's lecturing and training. Years upon years of shirking her chores and responsibilities were behind her; ask anyone who has ever been in charge of directing Azusa, and they will confirm that the moment someone took their eye of her she was gone without a trace.

These traits of hers were only enhanced when she inherited The Blood of her predecessors; her affinity to Sound now makes her keenly aware of just how noticeable she is being rather than rely on guesstimates as she has in the past.

This deceit of hers especially extends to her use of illusions as well; she's always been lazy enough to avoid the hard parts of a challenge and find an easier loophole. Likewise, capitalizes on catching people unaware to subtly manipulate them without them even realizing she's hypnotizing them.

All in all, she was a Trickster, not a Fighter. Her personality will cause her to pick or accept a chellenge...

...Just don't expect her to play fairly.

WC: 240

- I don't know how I could have missed that =( In that case, I'd like to add those 2 points into Subtle Tuning, so I'd have all three ranks of that.

- I have 100 Advanced Points. I'd like to use them to purchase two free minor affinities, the Visual and Audial Sensory Knowledge's.

- Activating the Insight ability.
By nature, a Genjutsu user must be attentive to detail. If they weren't aware of their own surroundings, how could they hope to manipulate said environment through their illusions and still have their target ensnared in their spell?

Normally, being attentive is not the first thing to be associated with Azusa. She was no genius at perception, and if it were not for the sacred Aikayume blood in her veins, she wouldn't be decent at perception at all.

But she did have the blood in her, and thus, had its blessing. The visage of a Fox Spirit; her vision was keen, her hearing was sharp (and further enhanced with her affinity to sounds!), and her smell was enhanced. Combined, she was able to pick up on cues that would have otherwise gone unnoticed to her.
But more than her senses, she was just plain lucky when it came to using her natural instinct to her advantage, relying on it and guesswork to effectively know and predict the situation around her. If you asked her about it, Azusa would be unable to explain how she 'just knows'.

To some, it was almost a hyper awareness of her surroundings.

To others it was dumb luck.

- Learning the Scorch Element (Fire + Non Elemental)
"Hey, Hinoka, lets fight." Azusa announced lazily across the floor that she was laying upon, staring upwards. If her servant was surprised, it had not shown at all. Perhaps Hinoka was already used to Azusa and her demands, for without wasting the initiative, the silver-haired cousin of Azusa lunged across the table and grabbed Azusa's jacket and hat to start off the match in her favor. How so? Because attached to the clothing were the bells that Azusa was fond of casting Genjutsu through. No bells meant Azusa would have to struggle without them.

"As you wish, priestess-sama." Azusa jumped to her feet, clearly surprised. Did Hinoka just mock her? She was getting quite bold, wasn't she? "Stealing my stuff? Thats not like you, Hinoka." Azusa responded with a minor burst of wind in an attempt to dislodge her garments from Hinoka's hands.

"You are going to challenge me, in Ninjutsu, priestess? I'm better than you, priestess-sama." Hinoka smiled, her hands flying through seals at a much faster rate then Azusa could match even while keeping Azusa's bells close to her. A trio of fireballs shot towards Azusa which she slipped past. "Just because your better at using them..." Azusa began as she steadily performed the seals she had memorized.

"...Doesn't mean you're stronger at them!" Azusa continued, her crimson eyes narrowing with her focus.

"Thats not how Ninjutsu works, priestess...It kinda does mean that..." Hinoka slowly corrected...But she saw Azusa's point at least. Azusa was able to things that Hinoka could not...in this case, conjure up the sapphire flames she held in her hand. A technique of the Aikayume. "Foxfire...When did you learn that Azusa?" Hinoka kept her guard up, unsure how to defend herself. "You were getting to brave. Remember your just a 'Stupid Hinoka'." Azusa taunted her cousin with the nickname she had always called her, while throwing the blue flames towards the girl.

The flames streaked through the air as if following an invisible trail. Although Azusa missed her target, the flames didn't burn or set the walls and floor ablaze. The flames didn't combust or burn as usual; they were pure heat. They burned without burning.

I have 5 unused CA Points that I'd like to put into;
- Taking Subtle Tuning another two times to max it out - 2 Points
- Sonic Strike - 2 Points
- One rank of Melodious - 1 point

I also get two more class points at B-rank to put into my class bonus. I'd like to add on another +1 Genjutsu DC to it.

Accepted.

Activating Jutsu Expansion;
Does an area gain mystical properties because a place such as a shrine is built? Or would a shrine be built in an area that naturally has some kind of spiritual aura?

The Aikayume shrine is one such place filled with spiritual energy. As Azusa's home, she had always been around such potent natural energy, and is able to detect it. This is 'the power of spirits', as she calls it.

Should she need to, the priestess of foxes can, and will, show that the spirits of the land are more than capable of lending their power to their priestess if she calls upon them.

- Can I swap Shattered Reality for the Mind Overflow ability without an RP for it? Shattered Reality's "Increase damage dealt to targets under a genjutsu" effect was moved over to mind overflow, which was the main reason I took the former ability. Either way, I'll drop shattered reality as well.

- I have a Curse Seal, scribed by Akkuma a Dark Sage. I'll be transferring it to the new Curse Seal Ability;
Curse Seal (DS) said:

A Curse Seal born from Azusa's arrogance, representing the desire to cause pain simply to reaffirm her own worth. Any perceived slight against her fuels the malice lurking behind her flowery speech, her scorn letting nothing go unpunished. All she needs is a push.

Effect:
+1 Accuracy, Genjutsu DC is raised to High.
- Failed Bleed/Suppression/Called Shot attempts add their % chance to the next attempt made during the same round (bypassing caps); the user's Bleed rank increases by 1 each round, cannot be lowered, and the user takes x1.5 Bleeding damage.

- Learning Conservative Motion and Weapon Mastery (Slashing)
In all honesty, Azusa wasn't nearly as hopeless as she felt. The Byakko blood and Curse Seal gave her notable agility, and she was quite quick on her feet or someone with multiple tails of fluff. While her raw strength was certainly lacking, her agility was there and only needed to be trained enough to make use of her natural litheness. Her strength would slowly but surely improve with each session, and with said strength, her strikes quicker, her increasing stamina pushing back the point where it took all her strength just to lift the kendo sword further and further.

The biggest challenge Azusa had was learning how to fight in close combat. Her mind had always been biased towards Taijutsu and martial arts, thinking that "even if it looks elegant, it still comes down to who can beat the other down harder". In her mind Taijutsu was all about raw strength and who would hit harder...it was difficult for her to get out of this mindset and realize that there was so much more to it, that stances, footwork, positioning all had very real meaning and purpose. Once she got through this, she began to recognize said stances, what positioning meant what, when to attack, when to defend...it was almost like a dance.

WC: 214

- Learning the Slashing Physical Style.
If nothing else, Azusa was fierce. Despite having no idea what she was doing, the blonde Kitsune put effort into each of her swings; if only she had the technique to make that effort actually mean something! Even after persuading her sensei into letting them train alone, she found he had been no less hard on her, his defenses not dropping in the slightest.

She tried; feints, lunges, strikes, but nothing would mix up the Byakko. Azusa was always extremely expressive when something got under her skin, and this training session was no different; the more she was countered and avoided, the more desperate she seemed to get. She was hesitant the more she realized that attacking Kyuji would just end up with getting herself hit by his counter, but tried her best to get something --anything-- to hit the descendant.

WC: 140

- Learning the Tracker and Bloody Mess abilities;
Azusa's training with the Byakko was proceeding quickly, and each day her training yielded fruits of her effort. But the disease that had been lurking within her was also been cultivating within her just as rapidly.

From the moment she became aware of it haunting her, each day was a struggle where she did her best to resist slipping into the bloodthirsty trance she had fallen into that had resulted in her attacking one of her sensei's fellow clansman. Anytime she felt the urge approaching she would distract herself with further training or meditation, a process that seemed to be working...

...but for each day that passed, Azusa found it easier and easier to lose her focus on whatever she was doing, each day found herself spacing out for longer periods of time; and more often, to boot!

How could she not? It was wrong to blame her. When she recalled the sweet taste of the Byakko's blood, her mouth watered. when she lost focused, she could practically smell the red substance waiting for her just beneath the thin layer of skin of those around her. She could practically feel each beat of their hearts pumping the nectar through them, each pulse a tempting serenade that was more and more difficult to ignore...

WC: 210

Also learning Release Restraint;
One would expect staying as a guest with a clan with as much power and wealth as the Byakko would be nothing short of a luxurious vacation.

Azusa did not agree.

Every tall wall, every expansive room, every lengthy corridor...

It was all so suffocating to her!

How long had she been here? The days were blurred into weeks, and the months were starting to feel like years. Azusa no longer was able to remember how long she had been confined within the Byakko estate, but it was nothing less than a prison. Every fiber of her being yearned to leave, to stretch herself away from the watchful eyes of the Byakko. Her frustration was pent up within her.

...It was too much. She hated being controlled or held back, and it was only a matter of time before she snapped.

As for learning, since you did not Rp for unlearning, you don't have the necessary slots for them all.
Do you wanna wait two more days and I'll add them all?
Or do you wanna select four of them to activate now?

I understand what losing the free sound element means, don't worry. I had no intention of continuing to use sound techniques.

Another Ability here. As A-Rank, I have 11 ability slots. +1 from my bonus ability advanced point purchase.

- Learning the Fire Chakra Style and Shinobi 101 (free slot). Shinobi 101 will be used to perform Visual Genjutsu with Melee Accuracy;
Ever since losing the sacred blood of the Aikayume, Azusa found herself struggling to perform even the simplest of techniques. Her blood blessing having been wound so tightly to her very being, she, essentially, had to relearn how to properly mold chakra from scratch. And years of training were not simple to unlearn.

...But not impossible.

Though she no longer was attuned to spirits of wind, and could no longer hear the whispers of the air around her, Azusa had a second affinity that had not left her; her attunement to flames. All Aikayume had varying degree of control of flames through their Foxfire, and these were the first Ninjutsu she was learning to control.

Then there was also her skill with illusions. While at one point she was able to wrap an entire crowd in an illusion through the chimes of her sacred bells or sound of her silver flute, and even her voice carried an enthralling power through her prayers...while she no longer had that level of control or power, she still found herself able to perform certain illusory techniques. Mainly, those that created visual illusions became the second type of techniques she regained control over.

With both fire and illusions added onto the sword techniques she had learned with the Byakko, Azusa was well on her way to once again hold her own power.
