Kunashi meditated frequently nowadays. His sensei, Tsuyoshi Aiko, taught him about how chakra was a way of life, not just a weapon. In order to be more attuned with himself, he would sit and focus for hours. Simply moving his chakra around his body, getting a feel for the energies that were inside him. Through his training with Aiko, he had found that he had a natural elemental affinity for lightning. As he worked on improving his ninjutsu skills with that element, it began to make him curious. He noticed that Aiko was able to use fire as well as lightning. If Aiko were able to use more than one, could he as well? With this question in mind, Kunashi found a serene field on the outskirts of the Ancient Forest and sat down. He focused inward, feeling and hearing the familiar sounds of sparks and electricity. Slowly fading those sounds out, he searched within himself for another feeling. Something he was not sure even existed, let alone what it would feel like. For a time, he heard nothing but the droning of electricity in the distance. He pushed deeper within himself, searching for places he had yet to explore in prior meditations. After a few hours of fruitless searching, he finally found something. Deep within his chakra coil, he felt an anomaly. This feeling was not the light, tingling sensation he felt with his lightning. This feeling was heavy and steadfast, not airy like the lightning. Bringing this feeling to the surface, he let the chakra manifest itself in the palm of his hand. When he looked down, he saw what seemed to be a pile of dirt and rocks swirling softly in his hand, as if blown by wind. He had found earth. Returning to his meditations and his core, he wondered what else he could find within himself. Mentally pushing back to the deepest levels of his chakra coil, he felt this third feeling. This one was much more complex than the earthen or electric chakras he had experienced. When he focused on this chakra, he felt a slight burning sensation mixed together with what seemed to Kunashi as a breeze. He attempted to separate the two forms of chakra, but they wouldn't budge. They would only move as a unit. This mysterious chakra kept avoiding Kunashi's focus, seeming to shove away from view. Drawing this chakra from the innermost parts of himself, he brought it once more to that same hand. However, this chakra was different than the earthen one he had just uncovered. This one was invisible, its manifestation strictly a force. Kunashi looked at his palm inquisitively, realizing that the depths of his power were still yet to be defined. Kunashi stood, sending his chakra back to his coil. He kicked the ground, forcing out earthen chakra. What had resulted was a shift in the formation of the earth from solid ground to a coarse gravel. Kunashi smiled. It seemed that Kunashi's secondary element was weak to his primary element. Irony. But, what was this third chakra? This solution of energies? Kunashi pointed his hand at the gravel he had just created, and exerted the force chakra in it's direction. Nothing came out, but the gravel flew as if it had exploded. He would have to ask Aiko about this later.
He sat back to the ground, and began to think. If this 'solution' of chakra was actually a combination, could elements be mixed together? This was uncharted territory for Kunashi. Up until today, all he had practiced had been learned from a superior. He was now delving into his own being and experimenting with himself. He swallowed nervously, and decided to try something. In one hand, he gathered electrical chakra. In the other, he gathered earthen chakra. He put his hands together, and mixed the two chakra between them evenly. He slowly separated his hands, unsure what he would find when he opened his eyes. He knew there would be something there, he could feel the chakras mixing together in the space between his hands. He opened his eyes. There was nothing. Confused, Kunashi began analyzing the chakra. He knew something was there, he just couldn't see it? Could it be invisible like his force-chakra? No, of course not.
As he kept wracking his brain for the answers, a leaf fell from the tree above him. It floated gently down, swaying in the breeze. The leaf was going to pass over his hands gently, when suddenly it shot to the middle point in his hands and levitated there. This confused Kunashi even more, but confirmed to him that there was, in fact, something there. He watched as the leaf bounced around the middle point of the chakra, seeming to defy gravity itself. That's when it hit him. Kunashi dissipated the chakra between his hands and stood up. He mixed the two elements at his feet, and jumped, exerting a constant flow of chakra from the soles of his shoes. He braced for the landing. It never came. Kunashi looked down. He was about six inches from the ground. He laughed excitedly and began walking in the air. After a few minutes, he dropped himself, landing on the ground. He quickly gathered his things and began running. This was something he had to show Aiko-sama.
