Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Ayumu sat upon the patient’s exam table as he awaited the Med-nin tending to him to arrive. This was to hopefully be the last of many visits he was forced to make to the hospital ever since a mission had gone awry months ago leaving him unable to use his chakra. The mission was supposed to be a long one and there was to be potential for danger, but nobody goes on a mission expecting to come out of it worse for the wear. The injury he sustained had left him unable to utilize his chakra, a very serious issue for a shinobi… especially a Sennin. It was fortunate that he had not died, though the same could not be said for the party that left their mark on him. It had also delayed his return to the village substantially.

In the time he was gone, Kahako had discovered that she was pregnant with Ayumu’s child. Unfortunately, there was no way to relay the news to Ayumu while he was gone on the mission so she was forced to go through the first few months of her pregnancy without him around. When he returned, she had come to meet him at the gates where it took him a full minute to notice the baby bump. After almost falling over from shock (concerning some, especially Kahako, that his injury was even more serious than realized) he recovered and was ecstatic.

Sadly, Ayumu’s injury meant that he was no longer fit to serve as Sennin, at least in his own eyes. His opinion was that a Sennin should be a paragon of their branch, an ideal which he could not live up to in his current state. He would assist how he could while much of the responsibility was shifted to his previous second-in-command, Touma. He advised the other leaders that they should seek another Sennin in the meantime. Eventually, a veteran ANBU Sennin, Akira Saito, had come back to step into the role. It was fortunate that Saito was able to take the reins as it was unclear how long it would take Ayumu to recover or if he would recover at all. This day was the day that answer was finally to be given once and for all, if that damn Med-nin would show up already.

During his recovery, many things had happened. The Raikage was murdered, apparently by Hoshikata, while Ayumu rested comfortably in his home. He took the news hard, blaming himself for not being around to protect Shin. There was little he could have done in the state he was in, but it was hard for him to see it that way. He didn’t have much time to mourn, however, as soon his son was born which required his full attention. Perhaps there was some small benefit to his injury in that he was constantly home to help care for their newborn son.

A short knock came at the door of the patient room before the Med-nin finally entered. “Good morning, Ayumu-san,” the Med-nin greeted, prompting Ayumu to reply similarly. This Med-nin, Riku, had been tending to Ayumu since he had returned to the village with his injury. The whole time he had been assisting Ayumu with his recovery and the therapy which had been slowly restoring Ayumu’s use of his chakra.

“I’ve got your latest examination results here. Ayumu-san, I’m pleased to inform you that we believe you’ve made a full recovery. I’m recommending you continue your therapy for another week, but it seems that you’re back to about 100%. Congratulations!” the Riku informed Ayumu, whose face lit up as he stood up. He marched over to the Med-nin and took his hand firmly shaking it up and down vigorously.

”Thank you so much! I always had faith you guys could fix me! Cloud’s Med-nins are definitely the best around!” Ayumu said enthusiastically. The force with which he shook the Riku’s hand jarred the poor man’s glasses which he was quick to adjust as soon as Ayumu finally let go.

“Come now, you’re just saying that because Kahako-san is part of our branch,” Riku said, chuckling. He wasn’t entirely wrong. If Kahako hadn’t been recovering from childbirth and various other issues she would probably have been the one helping him out. Regardless, the experience had certainly greatly improved Ayumu’s already stirling opinion of the branch. “At any rate, I do need to tend to other patients, but once again, congratulations, Ayumu-san. The receptionist will see you on your way out,” Riku said once more before he turned to leave.

”Yes, thank you again, Riku-sensei,” Ayumu said as the Med-nin left. He followed the man a short ways before splitting off to head towards the exit. Sure, Riku had suggested Ayumu continue his therapy a bit longer, but this was the last time Ayumu intended to visit the hospital for some time. He headed out with all due haste, unnecessarily using some jutsu to enhance his speed, to deliver the good news to Kahako.

OOC: This was to explain why Ayumu resigned from Sennin and hasn't been around much lately and why he is now returning to active duty.
