Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yuii gave her black shirt a tug and sighed over the light stain on the bottom fold. Though the Kunoichi was apathetic to her appearance most days, she found herself haunted by the enduring pleas of her Aunt to at least look respectful for her first day. Yuii would be a rolemodel now and she needed to be a good one. The spot was not a reflection of herself but a mark against those that had placed her in the so very important role of educator.

Too bad this was her favourite shirt, otherwise she might have changed.

There would be many lessons and many days to teach them, but Yuii wanted to engage her new pupils in something entertaining. Many Shinobi were fickle creatures at heart, and by her own experience it was easier to give them a task then to drown them in words and theory. Better still if that task was interesting, and Yuii could think of nothing more interesting than the lure of adventure and lost artifacts.

But first, they would run through a mock procedure that would become common place to the little shinobi to-be. That was why Yuii now sat on the steps of the looming Torre Celeste cradling a sign that called for the attention of her students-to-be dressed sans the spot as a proper shinobi should. She had even dragged a comb through her long suffering short hair and stocked up on extra medical supplies for her bag. Who knew when they would need them, Students were SO prone to accidents.

They had been notified through the academy to be here at this time and this place. Hopefully she would not have to wait long. And as they arrived she would give each a smile, a form with the day's outline to review at their leisure and a candy or two. Who didn't like candy?

Write up:

Welcome Students!

  • I am your Sensei, Yuii. You may call me either.
    Important!:
Please be advised that today's lesson, as always, may include the possibility of maiming or injury. I will strive to keep you from more than the usual bumps and bruises in exchange for your prompt following of any orders given to you.

    Today's Lesson:
  • We will be meeting with the Main Branch Sennin, Kogami Ayumu in a run through of the procedures to get a missions.
  • Ayumu will be giving us a low ranked mission to complete as a group that will count as credit towards your overall graduation of the academy.
  • Following our meeting with Ayumu, we will move on to our mission.
[*}Please remain courteous to the shinobi and civilians at work in the Torre Celeste and stay together as a group.
[/list]
We will begin when everyone arrives.
OOC: Alright students, this is going to be a two parter lesson, each one with the aim of meeting the mentoring requirements. (There will be a separate thread for the second part.) We will get up to some hi-jinks here and then move on to a mock-mission. If you are not in part one- you can join part two as an assumed on-looker later on. ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME/ENCOURAGED TO JOIN, and any Genin if you're bored rock me a PM and I can probably fit you in.
On posting: In the interest of moving things along in the event of inactivity I will post every 3 days, regardless of replies(Unless everyone posts before the cut off). Please remember you need a word count of 1500/post count of 5 for you to receive the mentoring double training. If you're missed in a posting round, don't worry, we'll make it up.

PPT: **I'll not be receiving rewards to this thread as I'm already tutoring in another**

Komora was dressed in something that could be called typical of a kunoichi. It was a short yukata. She had a kunai holster on her thigh and a pair of shinobi sandals on her feet. She didn’t seem to be worried about the typical chill that caught on the air in Lightning county. Of course, this was Komora. She didn’t care about a lot of things and it was equally difficult to force her to wear something half decent. Her choice of clothing wasn’t her own, and it had been a small victory that she came dressed at all. This would be a great test for Komora. She had been working on her behavior with a counselor over the last few months. It was obvious that she had potential to become kunoichi. She had the instincts for it. Yet, there was still the big question - would she be able to follow orders when it counted?

Chou arrived, leading Komora by the hand. She noted Yuii’s sign and walked Komora over. ”Okay be good. Follow her orders. Okay?” Chou locked eyes with Komora. She nodded her understanding in return. With that Chou departed, leaving Komora with Yuii. Yuii seemed to be handing out a piece of paper and some candy. Komora accepted both although she wasn’t sure what she was supposed to do with them. After a few moments of boredom she pulled a kunai out of her sleeve and put it in her mouth. She put the candy on the ground and then tried to lean her head sideways so she could stab and poke the candy with the kunai in her mouth. She had placed her write up on the ground as she focused on stabbing the candy, and as soon as the first person walked past the paper would blow away as it rode on the heels of that person.

With one good lunge, the candy had thoroughly become impaled on the tip of her blade. Komora looked up from her antics and looked around expecting to find herself alone again - yet somehow Yuii was still here. She stood up and decided to show Yuii her skill. She tilted her head to the side so that Yuii could see the kunai still in her mouth with the candy stuck on the edge of the blade. ”Mdbrff - mrfrf - dfemrmf”. She said with the mouthful of kunai

Kyo walked along at a leisurely pace, while he had intended to simply complete a mission on his own, he had been informed that there would be a class that would be doing a mission as part of the class. As he was interested in working with others to complete missions, he figured that in a class setting that this would be what was accomplished, as there should be multiple people in the class. While it would take longer, it would likely be something good to have to deal with, even if he tended to do missions solo for the most part.

The boy was large for his age, looking several years older, was lightly tanned, with black hair that stood in spikes in most places but also comes down his cheeks to sit at or just below his chin, it is obvious to others that he takes care in shaping his hair regularly. His eyes are sharp and narrow with dark green coloring that watches about him warily and his face holds scars given to him by his family. He was dressed in his usual way, red over coat with a green padded mantle underneath between the over coat and a black sleevless shirt, a pair of semi-baggy olive drab pants that sort of hung over his feet, a sash of red fabric wrapped about his waist, a pair of black sandals that wrapped up his shins with no socks, bandages on his biceps as well as from his wrist to elbow. On his left hand he wears a set of four rings, in the same manner as his father, and anyone that knew the man would recognize them. He has two black set of pouches that wrap around from his back to his waist, drooping over his thigh as they go and a larger green pouch attached at the center of his back that rides on his butt. Two Kunai with white bandage wrapped handles are set in black sheaths set so that they are sitting at his shoulder level, handles facing upwards, his armaments also include two short swords, the same length as the boys forearm that are attached to his back in a crossed pattern, one that has a black sheath and the other red, the red one also having a white bandage wrap.

As he arrived he noted the appearance of the Sensei, choosing not to judge as he had long ago learned that appearances meant little when it came to knowledge or skill that one had. He also noted the girl who had been fascinated with his Kunai the last time they had meet, he stared at her for a moment his eyes narrowed as her antics went on before turning his attention back to the woman who was to be the instructor for the class. He took the paper from her, and eyed the candy with suspicion before sliding it into a hardened case withdrawn from one of the pouches he was wearing, it disappeared back into one of the pouches just as quickly as it had come out. He was instead focused on reading the paper she had handed out, he noted it included many things that he had already done regularly, such as acquiring a mission and the procedures involved, though thankfully it was then simply followed by the mission itself and little else. It was brief, which he liked, though how it actually went down would be something to be seen.

After finishing reading his form he would give a bow to the instructor, "Sensei Yuii, I am Hotaka Kyo, honored to meet you." he stood, "I look forward to the completion of the class."

[spoilername="Earlier That Day"]A serene village seemingly carved into the mountains emerged from the deep fog. The dawn’s rays filled the clouds with heavenly light as if the gods themselves had looked into the long night and would stand it no longer. As the sun rose above the sleepy world, the village’s telltale masterwork masonry depicting countless battles revealed that the infinitesimal beauty displayed belonged to no other than Kumogakure. As the day began, her people began to emerge from their abodes. Like always, they were eager to start their days. Fathers prepared themselves for an honest day’s work while mothers woke their tired children in order to feed them before sending them to school

Well, they woke their sons at least.

Later that day, a panicked young girl raced through Kumogakure dressed in nothing but her disheveled white pajamas. She raced barefoot across the cold lively avenues while furiously chewing on a piece of Kumogakurian toast. Hikari panted heavily as she finally made it to the familiar pagoda. She ran through the lobby and down the hall before she crashed into an empty classroom. After making sure that there were no spying eyes, Hikari hastily dug through her bag. She changed into a simple black dress and put on a grey sweater. She nearly tripped on nothing as she tried to put on some black flats while she was leaving the classroom. Racing against time, Hikari crossed the boundary into the classroom with a tumble and nearly slammed into her own desk. The girl was literally floored. She kept breathing heavily, trying to ignore the dizzy sensation from having run so fast after waking up and almost ignored that a figure was standing over her, clearing their throat as if trying to get her attention.

”I’m so sorry sensei,” she plead as she caught her breath. But whatever the figure was, it wasn’t sated by that particular expression. Hikari opened up her eyes and saw the blurry visage of what appeared to be a portly man. ”Wait, you’re not my sensei.”

The portly man quickly stroked his moustache as he rolled his eyes. His face showed a mild layer of contempt as he proceeded to clear his throat. ”Yes, I am aware. However, you are interrupting my class.”

Hikari felt a chill down her spine. She sat up immediately and noticed that she was in a room full of seven year olds busily starting at her incredulously. Maybe it was the fact that she ran over two miles in record breaking speed, or maybe it was the fact that she slept about four hours last night, but she started to suspicion that something was wrong. She turned dumbfounded to the portly man who only wagged his finger as he let out an exasperated sigh. It was only then that Hikari remembered that she was told to report to obsidian Torre Celeste on the other side of Kumogakure.[/spoilername]

Sometime After She Was Supposed to Arrive

A sweaty pale girl wearing a black dress and a grey sweater arrived with a limp at the Torre Celeste. Her blue eyes looked at the likely miffed students before she saw a familiar blue head. She gave a weak smile at the familiar face before she just fell face forward.

Yuii watched curiously as the first student, Komora did her best to stab at the candy like an angry crane after a fish. The kunoichi couldn't understand the fun in it herself, sweets were meant to be eaten not toyed with, but then Shinobi tended to be an odd bunch. This one seemed extra touched, but Yuii couldn't help but smile at the final triumphant stab. One day bobbing for candy with a kunai would be a handy skill.

"Look at that, you did it! You can eat the candy too, you know?" She said, popping one of her own into her mouth, then as a cautionary step she pointed to the Kunai and warned, "Better take it off the kunai first, those don't taste very good." Wouldn't that be a fine start to her day; First aid for a student that decided to swallow a Kunai?

Other students trickled in, some bleary eyed and disinterested in her write up. Others, like Kyo, actually read each word and seemed to absorb the tasks for the day. Kyo was the first to speak up with actual words, and the Kunoichi turned her attention from the strange Komora to him. "Good-morning, Hotaka-kun." she greeted pleasantly, pleased at least someone seemed interested in reading her outline. Yuii also looked forward to finishing the class, but she hoped that the journey would be as interesting as it's end rewards.

A quick glance at the sun told Yuii that it was nearly time to begin the class. She picked herself up from the Torre Celeste steps and with a hand-seal banished the sign away from whence it came."I guess that's it, we'll begin- hello baby bird." She greeted the last of to arrive, stooping down to place one of the papers on her head. She wasn't going to fuss over the girl arriving at the last second, experience has proven Hikari could handle herself. "If someone could pick up Hikari and make sure she comes along? She's a sack of feathers, you'll have no trouble."

That hopefully handled, Yuii started up the steps and ushered for the group to follow her, "We'll begin with the first step of our outline. Our stop is a visit to Kogami, Ayumu's office. Can anyone tell me his rank? Oh, wait, I wrote that didn't I? Kogami-Sama is our Main branch Sennin, as such he presides over the sub groups of Messengers, Ambassadors and Academy Teachers like myself."

The tower itself was not their goal then, but the depths of the Legation. The cool stone building sucked the warmth from the air. They were few mixed with the many entering the main mission hub of the Main branch, and she gestured for them to stay close together to avoid being split up. Yuii felt a familiar chill down her spine but she ignored it, choosing instead to focus on her lesson. "Normally if you were after an A-B-C or D ranked mission would would speak to one of the fine fellows down those ways." She said, pointing towards the wings designated for each level of mission, "but, there are high ranked missions that can only be given by a Sennin or the Raikage. Can anyone tell me what those are?" Yuii didn't wait for the answer but turned them down towards the Main Branch Sennin's office.

The first hurdle to seeing the Sennin was, as always, the Secretary waiting in her own office that served as guard to the rooms beyond. By now the blue haired Shinobi was well familiarized with the faces and names of the people that worked for Ayumu. Yuii was the not-so-official deliverer of confectioneries in her off time after-all. That was probably why she got away with just waving enthusiastically and leading the group onwards. "Good afternoon, Mitsuki! He's expecting us! you can warn him!"

Or he could not be. Perhaps Ayumu hadn't taken her ramblings about bringing the class to meet him seriously. It would be rather embarrassing if he was, say, asleep at his desk or doodling swords -again-. What a way to disappoint an entire generation all at once. Yuii knocked twice then heralded her students into the room.

"Good moooorning, Kogami-sama! Everyone say hello. Maybe a bow, you can bow if you want."

(OOC note: Anyone wanting to join the lesson is still welcome at this point, I've left the number of us purposefully vague so that any such individuals may assume they've been with us all along - just quiet. 3 day counter reset again.)

There was a rhythmic click of metal against metal as Makoto quietly joined the procession of students entering the room. He was not particularly subtle in appearance, a veritable giant for his age standing just shy of six feet, his unruly locks of hair billowing out around his head like a lion’s mane. He seemed to be wearing best dress, dressed in some sort of richly coloured short sleeved robe, dyed in deep reds, and blues, hemmed with golden thread and secured with a belt of brass tipped Pteruges. The hem came down to his knees, where thick linen bindings could be spotted, wrapped in the high leather straps of his sandals. As he walked, the brass tips of his Pteruges slapped against the buckles of his sandals, making his distinctive, metronome like clicks.

He’d been something of a ghost recently, after his doubts started to weigh on him. He had withdrawn into his old family home, not leaving for months on end. Deciding that was at best, unhealthy, he decided it was time to get back to classes. So here he was, a respectable student once more. He began to pull his hair back, fixing it in place with his brass ornament, before giving a polite nod to Yuii. He didn’t know her, per say, but he recognised her as a teacher.

Kyo had silently giving a slight bow and nod to the woman when she had addressed him, she hadn't expected an answer that he could tell and he wasn't about to volunteer one at this point. He simply watched the others for a few moments until a late arrival came in sweaty and giving a weak smile to the instructor before she collapsed face first into the ground. The instructor seemed to expect that from this student, so he dismissed it, turning his attention back to the instructor, that was until she said for one of the students to grab the girl and take her with them as they moved along .Rather than wait to see if anyone else would do it, he moved forward, grabbing the girl and tossing her over his shoulder with no trouble before turning and following behind the instructor, silent under his new found and adopted burden, simply listening to the blue-haired woman talk as they went along. While he was already familiar with what she was speaking about, that wasn't why he was here, even then he paid attention, making sure to listen to what she was saying, one never knew when more knowledge could be coming in from more experienced nin. As the woman spoke her question he kept his mouth shut for a moment eyeing the others, only providing an answer if no one else did in a quick and timely manner, "S-class missions are exceptionally deadly, requiring the attention of at least a single Jounin, and are usually things such as kidnapping a nin from another village, establishing treaties with one of the other villages or lands, and other similar dangerous and unpredictable missions. Tends to have a high injury and mortality rate, even when those involved are prepared."

He would continue to follow along quietly, not so gently shifting the burden he was carrying as the entered the secretary’s office, figuring the child would want to be awake for meeting their Sennin, if she awoke, he would put her down before entering, so that she could get herself more presentable, if she didn’t, he would simple walk in with her on his shoulder, and bow deeply, shucking her further across his back as he did so, to ensure that her head didn’t smack into the ground and he didn’t throw her at the feet of the Sennin as if she was some bounty he had come to collect rudely. He would stay in this position, silently, until given permission by the Sennin to rise, or until he backed out of the room after being dismissed, whichever came first.

Yes, Kogami Ayumu knew that the students were coming. He had taken the idea Yuii proposed very seriously. It was a distraction from paperwork, so it was more than welcome. Not only that, but given the rumors that he would soon be made Raikage, this would be the first impression many of the students would get to the next Raikage. Of course, he wasn't wearing a fancy four pointed hat and robe yet, but if that was truly in his future he wanted to make a good impression on the next generation of shinobi. He'd been thinking diligently about how they should first find him in his office when they arrived. A couple of ideas had crossed his mind. They could walk in while he was in the midst of training teaching the lesson that no shinobi is ever done training. They could find him sharpening his swords, because he figured that looked cool. They could find him working diligently on paperwork as an honest to god warning about the perils of becoming a Sennin. No, not that last one. Definitely not that last one.

As usual, Ayumu was dressed in his uniform: a double-breasted black coat with long sleeves with two rows of gold buttons down the front and red details. White gloves and a white belt with a gold buckle and kunai pouches attached with black pants and shoes to match the coat. All neatly pressed, not personally by him of course. His two swords were sheathed and sitting upon the corner of his desk within arms reach as they always were. This uniform, while very formal and neat looking, was actually quite flexible and easy to fight in- the only reason Ayumu would wear it. Ayumu was still pondering the thought when the intercom on his desk buzzed to life and the voice of his secretary came through advising him that the class was on its way to his office. "Ah, okay. Thank you," he said, pressing the com button to respond. This was it, there was no more time to think about it. If he tried to do something impressive, he'd probably just embarrass himself, so he figured he would just keep it casual like usual.

Standing up from his desk, he walked around to the side with his sword and picked them up one by one sliding them into the slots fitted for them on his belt. Finished with that, he walked in front of his desk and sat on it, folding his arms and crossing his lower legs in front of himself as he awaited the class. The door was open, so they wouldn't need to knock to come in. Within a minute or so, he heard Yuii knock on the door frame a moment before he saw her face enter his view. He smiled and nodded in greeting before turning his eyes to the students that followed in behind her, eyeing each of them briefly as they entered. Yuii greeted him in an overly enthusiastic way, drawing out the syllables in the greeting and properly titling his name. Ayumu couldn't help but laugh softly at this, she sounded like a proper teacher already from what he was hearing so far. She prompted the class to say hello and "maybe" bow. He stifled another snicker. That was more like it.

"Good morning Yuii-sensei, everyone. As she said, I am Kogami Ayumu, your Main Branch Sennin. It's good to meet you all," he said as some of them bowed as suggested. This always made him slightly uncomfortable for some reason. He had gotten used to the sama honorific that people tended to use, but the bowing felt a bit much. He dropped his hands and then lifted them gesturing for them to lift their heads. "No need to bow, this isn't that formal, I don't think!" he said with an uncomfortable chuckle, hoping they would comply. Returning his arms to the folded position he looked to Yuii once more. "Now, what brings you here today?" he asked. After all, she hadn't clued him in on what they would do once they had gotten here. So far this was going well, he hadn't done anything too unbecoming of his position yet he thought.

A lot happened in a short amount of time. Some people came, Hikari passed out on the ground, and Yuii tried to convince Komora to eat the candy on the edge of her kunai. In all this time she just blankly stared at the going on with the kunai still in her mouth. It was strangely soothing to watch the way people moved and lived around her. Komora for the most part ignored everything Yuii had to say until it was time to move. Kyo was the one to answer Yuii, giving a detailed explanation of what

Komora chewed on the handle of the kunai like a teething toddler. They were lead to the sage’s office and here Yuii seemed to suggest bowing. Of course she added that they could if they wanted to, so Komora took the second option of the conditional and did not bow. She instead looked at Ayumu with a strange interest. She tugged on Yuii’s clothes to get her attention. Pulling the kunai out of her mouth she used it, with candy still on its tip, to point out the blades that Ayumu had sheathed in the various sheaths. Komora had been ordered by Chou to follow Yuii’s orders, and she had learned that when it was orders time you had to have permission for everything.

”Komora wants to touch them.” She explained, pointing at the swords. She really wanted to slice up the whole office with the weapons, but she needed to make sure to get the okay first.

And so she dreamed . . . or at least they thought so. Hikari was never great at meeting new people, especially in large groups. What had begun as a small group had grown so quickly into an intimidating crowd worthy of spawning the dread beast of social anxiety. Hikari could almost swear she felt the warm fetid breath of the abominable fear on her neck. So like the particularly adorable hedgehog she owned, she curled up into a ball and pretended to sleep to avoid the situation.

She felt as Kyo did her the tactical favor of scooping her up and carrying her into the tower. She felt him place her tiny body on his rather comfortable but formidable shoulders. As she was carried off, she mimicked the deep calm breath of sleep and even let out a snore every now and then. She made sure to give no sense of recognition when she heard her name, or when they spoke as they rose up the tower, or even when they finally reached the office of the Main Branch Sennin. Hopefully, the ruse would last.

Makoto did not recognise Komora, but he certainly learnt the name, she had caused quite the controversy during her time at the academy, what with the curious incident with the dog. He was sure the Senin would forgive her outburst, but still, there were steps one had to take in the dance of social interaction, being offended on behalf of other people was one of them. Without looking down, he gently rested a hand on the smaller child’s shoulder, before stooping down to bring his head level with her own. “Perhaps Komora would like to hold herself with some semblance of decorum?” He said whispered in her ear, giving a gentle squeeze. “Rather than embarrassing our Sensei?”

Yuii did choose to bow, though the action looked like the over embellished act of a child. It was a hard balance awarding Ayumu the respect of his station when he so casually dismissed any attempt. "Make note, Kogami-sama likes sweets so if you ever need a favour bring along something nice. He's also pretty nice, so anyone placed in the Main Branch is extra lucky." The other Sennin could have been cloud riding saints and she'd still talk up Ayumu, "So what if the pay is pretty dismal next to the Med-nin or the Anbu but there's less danger overall unless you're running messages in wartime or, carrying out complicated and dangerous ambassador duties. Kogami-sama takes pretty good care of us!" Yay, Ayumu.

It was always interesting to see the many reactions of students when met with a figure like Ayumu. Everything from awkward milling to the very formal bow Kyo maintained despite burden. And then there was the burden herself. "Hikari..." The jounin sighed, noting that the tiny girl hadn't bothered to grace them with her awakened presence. Kyo didn't seem over burdened, so Yuii chose to ignore the sleeping student. As long as her students were present and accounted for it was up to them to actually learn.

"Better not, Komora," Yuii admonished gently, noting another student seemed to have taken watching Komora into their own hands. She flashed him a thankful smile and continued on, blissfully unaware of what it was he said to Komora. The Jounin was already nervous after the other girls earlier display with the candy and she had to wonder if there was a story to the way the other students acted around her. Ayumu was too nice, he might just let her hold one, and then where would hey be? Her senses told her Komora likely wouldn't settle for just touching the blades. She had warned them of maiming but not THIS early in the day.

"Oh, I knew you weren't listening," she muttered under her breath, crossing her arms irritably, "Remember it was th- " Yuii leaned in to quickly whisper what he was meant to say. Had she actually told him? Had it been a dream? No matter, he'd probably play along.

[OOC:Sorry for the wait, wanted to make sure everyone had time following Ayumu. That catches Makoto up in post count too! Day-count starts after Ayumu posts for now, so feel free to wait or not.]

Yuii had ignored Komora’s request and continued her explanation. Komora tapped her feet expectantly as she explained how Ayumu liked sweets. Komora realized. This is why there was candy! She pulled the candy from her candy and moved to go give it to Ayumu but before she could a hand rested onto her shoulder.

Chou was always heavy handed with her as well, but when she looked up it wasn’t Chou. It was the giant. Perhaps someone as small as Komora should be afraid of him, but she wasn’t. “Perhaps Komora would like to hold herself with some semblance of decorum?” his gripped squeezed her shoulder. Rather than embarrassing our Sensei?”
Komora wasn’t discreet with her facial expression. She looked like she had something to say but wasn’t quite sure what it was yet. Then her face cleared. ”She said to listen to the blue lady.” Komora inclined her head towards Yuii, referring to Chou’s instructions to listen to Yuii. ”Not you.” Her words were not hushed in any way, and were loud enough to be heard by everyone nearby. It seemed that the interchange had caught Yuii’s Attention though.

”Better not” Komora couldn’t read the expression on Yuii’s face, but she thought she could hear what people called a “pained” sound to her voice. Komora nodded. ”Okay.” She nodded. She otherwise ignored the hand that was still on her shoulder. She tugged Yuii’s clothes again. ”Can Komora give Kogami-sama a candy?” She held out the stabbed candy for Yuii to see in the palm of her hand.

Well, this was an interesting group to behold. One student immediately bowed deeply with respect upon entering the office. He seemed the type to take authority seriously and act by the books, very mature for his age. The others... not so much. One of them was perhaps the most child like student Ayumu had seen in some time. Rather than bow, she simply stared at Ayumu, or so Ayumu thought at first. He quickly realized she was actually looking at the swords at his hip when she tried to get Yuii's permission to touch them. He wondered slightly if she was even aware of why she was there. Another student tried to corral the girl like an older brother only to be quickly shot down with the equivalent of a "you're not my mom" response. At least he had tried. She only relented when Yuii dissuaded her and then asked if she could instead give Ayumu candy. Ayumu simply chuckled. One of them was flat out sleeping as far as Ayumu could tell, having been carried in on the back of the other student who gave the respectful bow. He couldn't tell if she was really sleeping, but something gave him the impression she was faking it. It would be rather hard to sleep through all of this, after all. Were Ayumu a more serious individual, he might have been offended.

After his greeting and question, Yuii seemed flustered by Ayumu's words. She crossed her arms and scrunched up her face leaving Ayumu to wonder what he had done wrong. She quickly leaned in and began whispering to him about what he was supposed to say. Something about sending them on a mission. Of course, students didn't generally go on missions except for maybe the occasional E-rank deemed fit for a student to complete, but this was an interesting exercise. It was a good idea. It was the first time Ayumu had heard about it from Yuii, but it was a good idea nonetheless. "Hey, hey, this is the first i'm hearing of this, gimme a break!"</I><i></i> he whispered back with his mouth hidden behind a hand from the class before turning back to them with a smile as if nothing had happened.

It was at this point that he noticed a document on his desk signed by Yuii. He picked it up, realizing that she had sent it in advance and quickly scanned it filling in some blanks in what she had just whispered. His secretary must have left it for him thinking he’d find it on his desk, but there were MANY things on his desk so that was a long shot. Regardless, Yuii had given him the concept of the mission, he just needed to present it to the class as if this were a typical mission assignment. Of course, it would probably be best if they all heard it and not just the ones presently awake. Grabbing a sharpie off of his desk, Ayumu took a few steps forward to the "sleeping" girl to look a bit more closely. If she was faking it, she was pretty good at it. Ayumu couldn't say for sure though he had seen quite a few sleeping students in his day. However, there was one way he could usually find out.

"Oiiii... I'm about to give you your assignment, so you might want to wake up and listen," Ayumu said, poking the girl's forehead gently with the cap of the sharpie. "Also if you don't wake up I'm going to draw a mustache on your face," Ayumu said, withdrawing the sharpie to uncap it. Somehow he had already forgotten about the decorum he was trying to portray and was already back to his old antics. He wasn't even thinking about it anymore. If she complied and roused from her sleep he would relent and say ""Glad you could join us," before stepping back. If she still maintained the act, he would shrug and say "So be it," before following through with his threat and drawing a mustache on the girl's upper lip unless stopped. If she slept through all of that, Ayumu would accept her determination and the others would simply have to fill her in later on their mission and why she was currently sporting a fancy curled sharpie mustache.

"Now that that's settled, today I'm going to be sending you all on a mission. A ceremony of great importance will soon be held at the Torre Celeste. Most of Kumogakure will likely be in attendance, in fact," Ayumu said, trying to impart the importance of this ceremony on them. They might be able to figure out what he was referring to but he wasn't going to say specifically. "For this ceremony we will require two items. The easiest to obtain will be a certain set of robes. They have been hand tailored by a wise elder who has been entrusted with crafting these robes and all of their previous iterations for many many years. She won't let anybody else even touch them until she has finished. Her workshop is within the Torre Celeste. These are very important so you must take great care with retrieving them," Ayumu explained, wondering if any of them had caught on what the robes might be for. This, however, was only part one.

"The second item you will be seeking is a sword. It hasn't been used in some time, but we are hoping to bring the tradition back for this ceremony. Now, it hasn't actually been seen in years and we're not even certain that it can be found at this point, to be honest. I can tell you that the last record of the location of the sword says that it was taken to be enshrined in a location <I>underneath the Torre Celeste. For.... safety reasons, the area where it was taken was declared off-limits at one point, hence why the sword has remained there and not made an appearance recently. The records from the time aren’t complete, so I can’t tell you exactly why the location was cordoned off. It goes without saying really: be careful,” Ayumu continued, giving them their second objective. He knew more than he was letting on, naturally. Of course, this was often the case when missions were handed out so it fit perfectly for an example. He would leave it up to Yuii to decide whether she wanted to clue them in on more now or later.

”Are there any questions?” he asked, finally.

OOC: Sorry for the delay guys, just got back from vacation. No more vacation for a while though so there shouldn't be any more delays on my end.

Hikari let out a large snore at the most inopportune time. It seems the darling sack of kittens and flour (at least their equivalent weight) might have actually fallen asleep while she was pretending to sleep. She snuggled in on Kyo’s back as she let out a faux purr.

She felt the echoes of this place. Hikari’s stream of gentle dreams gave way to the raging rapids of the tower. She dreamed of a past age where men and much greater than those alive today had walked. She dreamed of a figure carved in onyx menacingly threatened those who opposed him with swift death. She dreamed of a cackling madman with an extraordinary ability to make others whole fail to cure his own affliction. She dreamed of a beautiful angel that treated his sword like a paintbrush and others as a macabre canvas live out his last days alone from everyone he had ever loved. She dreamed of a kindly man with a gentle smile patting her head suddenly telling her he had to go now. She dreamed of a purple-headed woman looking on at her child lovingly but with a sense that she had forgotten something extremely important. Lastly, she dreamed of a titan wielding a hammer that shook the heavens themselves. She dreamed them all, those heroes of old calling out to their children to take their place. Hikari watched them as they laughed amongst themselves with a peace they were never able to find. She found herself running to them.

Suddenly, the ethereal landscape, that place above the Clouds. The lofty perch began dripping with blood gentle and intimidating faces she saw turned into haunting visages reflecting human misery. The beckoning became saccharine, a chilling siren song that promised everything but delivered nothing Hikari felt a shiver down her spine. Above it all stood a sword personified into the body of a muscled demon. She knew something was about to go wrong and she wasn’t sure she could do anything to stop it.

Not that anyone in that room could tell. She may have shifted while she slept, but Hikari looked peaceful as she slumbered.

"Of course you can, Sennin like candy." Yuii answered, laughing at the visual. Ayumu, caged like a zoo monkey in a miniature habitat that looked scarily like his office. His only entertainment the few papers his handlers give him and the odd treat a passerby my spare. Cue adorable Komora with her candy and Ayumu snatching it from between the bars created be responsibility. Boy was she glad she wasn't in his position.

Hikari, it seemed, was determined to continue sleeping through her class and so it was that she became Hikari von sleeperton, moustached villain. Given the trouble the cotton ball weighted girl had given Yuii during their first meeting, the Academy teacher was not overly upset to be without her particular set of drama. A bite to the thighs was the last thing she needed right now.

Ayumu was quick to pick up on the mission for someone just hearing about it, she had to give him credit. Maybe in the future she would alert him a little better? Nah, "It's as Kogami-sama says, two missions. If no one had any questions- mission related questions-" She paused and eyed Komora pointedly, "we'll go and retrieve those robes now. Thank-you so very much for your time. We'll see you again when the mission is complete."

Yuii ushered the group out of the office and back through the Legation to the Torre Celeste proper. "We'll be starting on our mission right away, as it isn't very high risk but it's important to remember to try and always be battle-ready when meeting a Sennin or the Raikage. If you're being given a mission personally, it's expected that you can carry it out as quickly as possible. Oh, unless it's something drawn out like infiltration or travel related where you'd need supplies." The architecture switched from the newer, flat walls to the ancient Gothic stonework that had been laid by their ancestors.

"And, up the stairs. Run those, just watch out for pedestrians" Yuii said cheerfully, taking Hikari from Kyo so that he would be unburdened for the climb. "They're not sure which room the tailor has set up shop. I guess she must move or use Genjutsu to keep nosy shinobi away. I think somewhere in 20s? We'll start checking on floor twenty. Everyone pick a door and start knocking when you get up there!"

"Powder puff, if you miss this entire lesson I'm giving you an F" Yuii muttered, climbing up after the group at a more leisured pace, "We'll tie you to a pole and crack the spines of books while you're made to watch."

[Assuming our skipped ppl follow. Get well soon Kyo.]

Yuii had given the go ahead so Komora approached the sennin with the candy held out. She was intending to give it to Ayumu, but Hikari’s snore distracted her. Komora wandered over to the pair of students who were acting like statues without personalities and gazed curiously at Hikari. She took the opportunity to rustle in an extremely thorough manner through Hikari’s current gear. She expected to find some sort of kunai at least, but it seemed it was only pajamas. Komora had to make sure though. Stuck her head under Hikari’s top and look around at the bare back beneath it. Wait a minute. Was that holster? She had to make sure. She bit into Hikari’s side. Nope. Just skin.

With that out of the way she listened to what Yuii had to say in regards to the mission with a uncharacteristically serious expression on her face. Komora had no quesitons because she thought that getting clothes was a simple mission, but she was determined to carry out to the best of her abilities. Yuii lead them to a new, or rather, older area made of stone. They received an order to run up the stairs. Komora did so without hesitation and soon found herself on the 20th floor. Komora didn’t waste any time. She ran down the hall way doing a loud double knock on each door that she was able to reach.

The sleepy and now newly molested girl woke up as people made their exits. She rubbed her eyes and gave out a big yawn before she climbed out of Yuii’s arms (as well as patting the thigh that may as well have scarred). Like a groggy teenager motivated by the sheer insistence that her mother would throw a bucket of water on them if they don’t get up for school, he shuffled lifelessly in the direction of the stairs. She lazily waved her hand at Yuii to indicate that she knew enough about what was going on to at least fake adherence to a semblance of protocol.

Hikari reached the stairs and was left with a particular conundrum. Did she dare go up in order to find something of some sort or would she go downstairs to certain doom. The dandy lion elected to join the ranks of great women who had seemingly made a decision motivated by no great thought other than convenience before she started slowly going downstairs. Sure, going downstairs might actually cause a problem for when she had to return upstairs, but that was a problem for future Hikari. Present Hikari’s stance on future Hikari was simple: what has future Hikari done for her lately, also, get off my back Komora, I don’t have any freakin’ candy. The young girl waved away the strangely unorthodox inner voice that had appeared and began descending. Of course it was all rendered moot when she felt the sudden and firm grasp on the cuff of her blouse re-directing her upstairs. Stifling a groan, she began climbing.

Twenty flights of stairs. Hikari was never exactly a pudgy mess but her knees nearly buckled at the prospect of climbing twenty flights of stairs, especially running up of them. She stopped for a quick second to analyze her surroundings. She noticed that the stairs turned three ways before reaching the next level. This had left an open space in the middle for which someone could either look up or look down. Hikari pondered for a moment, trying to recall if she had ever come across a tome discussing the infrastructure of the Torre Celeste. The bookworm kept studying before she deduced why the architects had designed the staircase to be so tedious. By allowing such a huge empty space (and possible falling hazard), it would have allowed dexterous shinobi to quickly ascend or descend in case of infiltrations.

She climbed the arm rail (likely to everyone’s bemusement). She estimated that the arm rail on the next story was about twelve feet high and ten feet across. Using rudimentary geometry, she calculated that the meant that she would need to jump about 15.6205 feet. The young girl wasn’t exactly confident in her talents, but she had made significant strides recently and refused to back down from a challenge. She took a breath, redirected her chakra to her thin legs, and jumped into the air gracefully, before landing on the next story’s arm rail (as well as using chakra to ensure she didn’t lose balance). Hikari turned around, and repeated 39 more times, without once realizing that she had a mustache.

There was something satisfying about unleashing a group of students upon the Torre Celeste. The tower could be so stuffy and morose.

At last Hikari had decided to grace them with her awakened presence. It was likely not her threats but the brazen way Komora had touched her fellow student that had awoken her. The molestation didn't seem to affect her much, as she signalled her understanding of what the group was doing.

Then promptly started down the stairs instead of up.

Yuii quickly redirected her and watched in bemusement as the girl groggily climbed up. At least now she would be of some use for the second part of the mission. Yuii followed at a steady pace.

The hall was much the same stone and design as below, with Gothic embossing and solid iron and wood doors. There were no works of art or carpets, just the artistry of the stone. The entire length was lit by one large window at the end, casting everything in the golden sunlight that bounced off the white stone. The large troupe of cleaners in the tower kept everything militaristic clean,

Yuii raced up after the students and arrived in time to watch the discord caused by Komora's knocking. Others had taken to following her lead. Half the offices up here were used at random, but the rest held official looking shinobi who were unhappy to be disrupted from their workday. And at the end was their goal. An old woman, aroused by the clamour in the hall, slammed her door open just in time to stop the knocking terror from abusing her own door.

"Noisy brats! Get out of the Torre Celeste you bunch mismanaged urchins! I am creating art! ART!"

"Ahh, Baba, we're here for Ayumu's robe's," Yuii called from the other end of the hall before the woman could slam the door in all their faces. The old woman startled as if she'd seen a ghost then snarled and retreated back into her 'office space.' Any curious to look inside would see floor to ceiling fabrics of every colour, tables lined with an array of patterns and mannequins dressed in complicated formal attire. There would be no sneaking in though, as the old woman kept a -very- close eye on her doorway. A moment later she returned, a large boxed package tied with string in her arms.

For all that Ayumu had eluded to the old woman being protective, she dumped the little blond knocking maniac like it contained dog feces. "I'll send him my bill!" the crone yelled, slamming her door closed.

Well, easy part done.

Yuii approached Komora, a bit disappointed none of them would see the clothing created for Ayumu before the Kage ceremony. She had hoped volunteering would get them a sneak peek. "Komora, can you deliver that package to Kogami-sama? Keep it very safe and only give it to him or his secretary. You may join the rest of us down below when Ayumu has the package. Understand?" She wasn't sure about sending her, but she was just as uncertain about keeping her along. The next part of the 'mission' was dangerous.

Komora received all sorts of snarls and ill will, but words had never been any type of thing to deter her. Of course, she also had no idea what she was looking for, so what fortune when Yuii seemed to recognize one of the angry people as the person she had been searching for. The girl waited patiently outside of the door expecting Yuii to do something more with the woman, only for a parcel to be dumped onto her like garbage. Komora examined the mess that she he been given but wasn’t sure if she wanted it. She was about to drop it on the ground, as it was proving uninteresting and unimportant. She held off for the moment because Yuii stepped forward to address her. "Komora, can you deliver that package to Kogami-sama? Keep it very safe and only give it to him or his secretary. You may join the rest of us down below when Ayumu has the package. Understand?" She explained.

Komora pressed a finger to her lips as she looked up at the ceiling for a moment. She thought hard about the thing she had just been ordered to do. Then a bright smile returned to her face as she nodded. Before she could be stopped, Komora bolted at max speed down the hall and glided down the stairs like she was on a water slide. She was protective of the garb as she held it over her chest with both arms folded over it. It didn’t seem to affect her break neck speeds in the slightest. She was mostly left alone as she went ignored like a little mouse scouring around the place until she found her way back to Ayumu’s office. Not realizing what a secretary was, she ignored Ayumu’s and instead burst into his office.

She was slightly sweaty, but she wasn’t out of breath. Komora was the kind of hyperactive kid that had stamina for days. She stood in the door frame gazing around the office for Ayumu.
