Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Truth be told, Ayumu hadn't been expecting to see any of the students back in his office anytime soon. He figured that Yuii would have them deliver the items to his secretary or one of his other "people" and that they would take care of things for him. Therefore, he wasn't really prepared for anybody to wander into his office, especially unannounced. He was truly utterly bored out of his mind with doing paperwork, so could anybody really blame him for taking a small break? When Komora burst into the room without a single knock she would find Ayumu sitting at his desk with his legs resting on top. On the corner of his desk was a bulky TV with a small screen. Beside the TV was a gray plastic rectangular box with the words Ninja Entertainment System (NES) written on the front in red. A black cord connected the box to an even smaller gray plastic rectangle held in Ayumu's hands with small buttons across its surface. Digital sound effects and music emanated from the TV as Ayumu navigated a small red and blue man across the screen with the device in his hands. Yes, Ayumu had stashed both a TV and a video game system in the Sennin's office.

A stick of pocky dangled half way from his mouth with the remainder of the box sitting beside him on his desk. He blinked as he heard Komora's entrance, pausing his game and looking over. 'Oh crap,' was his initial reaction until he subsequently realized it was one of the students and not his secretary or someone he had scheduled a meeting with. This still wasn't the most Sennin-like activity to be caught in the midst of, but at least it was just a student, right? Who'd believe it? She appeared to be carrying a package. Ayumu could only assume that she held the new robes as the package did not look remotely like a sword. Reaching up the pushed the rest of the pocky stick into his mouth with a finger to finish it and then slid his feet off the desk and turned to face Komora fully.

"Komora, right?" he asked as he set the controller down and beckoned her to come closer. He hadn't really been given the students' names, but he remembered hers seeing as she had been referring to herself in the third person. She had a particularly childlike quality to her which led Ayumu to wonder slightly if she was really of age to be in the academy. "Have you got something for me?" he asked, eyeing the package. Hopefully she didn't question what he had been up to when she came in. She didn't seem to be cognizant of the "proper" reverence usually expected of shinobi in the presence of the Sennin (not that he cared for such things) so hopefully she wasn't aware that he hadn't been acting entirely becoming of a Sennin just now.

As Komora waited in the door way she did notice the things that were out of place, but to her their purpose and the fact that they left a sense of dissonance with the dignity of the office was lost on her. She waited in silence until she was finally addressed by Ayumu. She nodded and then held out the parcel for him to take. ”Komora has it - The lady said to bring it here.” She still didn’t know Yuii’s name as she hadn’t actually read the introductory letter that she had handed out at the start of the thread. ”A grandma gave it to Komora. She threw it away. Komora can throw it away too.” She explained as she looked at the package in her own extended hands.

Komora slowly lost interest in the Sennin and tried to peek around him in order to look at the strange device on his desk. It had been making strange noises before but now it was suspiciously quiet. Komora heard rats. She stuffed the parcel into Ayumu’s hands if he had not already taken it and began to sniff around the floor of his office in search for the sounds of the strange squeaking noises that she had heard previously. She began to knock papers to the ground as she carelessly searched for what must be a small furry rodent in this office.

Fortunately for Ayumu, Komora didn't seem to much care what he was doing. She informed him that a lady had instructed her to bring it to him. A grandma. Interestingly she referred to both the act of her receiving the item and the act of her delivering the item as throwing it away. "No no, you're delivering it, not throwing it away. Much more useful," Ayumu tried to correct her. Unfortunately she had already lost interest. Instead she was now looking at the system on Ayumu's desk which she had obviously heard making moments ago. She had apparently mistaken the noises for rat noises. Ayumu scratched his head, unsure how she could have mistaken the digital bleeps for rats. She stuffed the package into his hands and he set it aside as he watched her drop to the floor and begin sniffing the ground.

'Is this girl really going to be alright? Who on earth enrolled her in the academy?' Ayumu wondered, wiping his palm down his face as she began to knock stacks of paper over and generally cause chaos in his office. "Komora, it wasn't rats. It was the TV. It... just makes noises," he commented, standing up and moving to where she was to try to steer her away from important things as best he could. 'Ugh, Susumu was never this bad,' he thought, shaking his head. And Susumu wasn't even Academy aged yet. The longer she remained here unsupervised the more damage she was likely to cause. He had to get her out of here.

"Listen Komora, uh... Yuii sent a message just before you got here to tell me to tell you to go back to her quickly. She's got more for you to do," Ayumu told her. A lie, naturally, Yuii hadn't contacted Ayumu at all. Not even to warn him that Komora was coming. The sword hadn't been delivered, however, so he could only assume the mock mission wasn't over with yet. Hopefully she would buy the lie and run along. God forbid she touch the controller, Ayumu had gotten pretty far in his game and would be devastated if she made him lose lives. It seemed she was inclined to listen to "the blue lady" and nobody else, based on her interaction with the other student earlier, so hopefully this worked.

It didn’t take very long for her to get there. In fact, she beat Komora upstairs. But shy Hikari didn’t really want to open the door before everyone else got there. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the hyperactive child to burst in, followed by Yuii, before she started running out again. Hikari watched with wide eyes behind her spectacles as she sort of just wondered what happened. She looked at Yuii with a confused face. Hikari shrugged to accompany her confused face before she just decided that she would awkwardly walk downstairs.

A significant time later, Hikari found herself walking to the Raikage’s officer where she saw the great fondler and the old man dawdling at some clothes. Hikari tried to curl her mustache before she just politely took a seat and waited for something to make sense.

Komora didn’t really understand what he was talking about when he mentioned that the strange digital sounds were coming from the T.V. That wasn’t something she had ever seen before, nor had she ever experienced the entertainment that it could provide. She just looked at Ayumu in a dumbfounded expression. ”Rats make squeaks.” She explained to Ayumu, with a tone that was slightly condescending. What an idiot. He didn’t even know what rats are. Ayumu tried to explain. Really? She asked excitedly. ”Okay! Komora will go!” She rushed past Hikair back as she exited the office. Of course there was one problem. Komora didn’t know who Yuii was. The truth of the matter is that she had never read the paper the Yuii handed out at the beginning of Class that introduced her to the class. She knew Yuii as the blue lady because at the Time Yuii had blue hair.

So now that she was out in the wild with no idea where to go she was left to her own devices. She became a terror to the entire office as she wandered around and knocked on the other offices in search of a Yuii. No one was safe. After bugging people for a while she found her way into the break room where she began to eat other people’s lunches simply because they had left them in the cooler. She opened up a neat Bento box that had Ayumu’s name on it and began to chow down. It had looked so cute. The little apple slices were cut to look like rabbits and the rice had a happy face on it. It made Komora happy. That is why she decided to eat the whole thing.

Once she finished she discarded the bento box, dropping it carelessly on the floor as she began to play with the coffee machine. It was fascinating that this dark liquid would pour out of the machine each time she pushed the button. Some of it got on her hand and she realized that it was quite hot. She decided to give up on the coffee machine because it was too hot to play with. Now that everyone’s lunches were scattered across the break room and that coffee was all over the floor she went back to bothering administrators in the building as she had completely forgotten what she was doing here in the first place.

Ayumu breathed an unwarranted sigh of relief as Komora left his office, feeling sure that she was out of his hair for now.

He don't know her very well, do he?

Running his fingers through his hair exasperatedly, he closed his eyes and shook his head for a moment before returning to his desk chair. He took a seat and leaned back slightly, putting his feet up once more and taking the controller in his hands. He unpaused the game and picked up where he had left off in the middle of the level. Before he got anywhere he sensed that he was not alone. He glanced over and saw Hikari sitting quietly minding her own business. His mouth fell slightly agape. She had been so quiet and non-nonchalant with her entry he hadn't even noticed. He paused the game yet again and set the controller down. 'Why is Yuii sending them all up here?!' he thought to himself, scratching his head.

"Hey, uh. You're awake. That's good," Ayumu said somewhat awkwardly as he took his feet off of his desk once more. Komora had literally just left as Hikari came in. Outside of his office he began to hear a series of knocking on doors and increasingly annoyed voices. 'What the...' he pondered, trying to make sense of the ruckus outside. He stood and started to walk over to his door when the intercom on his desk buzzed to life and the voice of his secretary came through.

"Kogami-sama, the student from before- Stop that! The student from before is just wandering around the Legation for some reason. Put that down! She's causing a general chaos and... oh god, she just went into the break room!" the woman said before the mic cut off. Ayumu's hand slowly moved up to hide his face in his palm for a moment. 'What the hell did you unleash on my office, Yuii?!' Ayumu thought with annoyance. He looked to the quiet student who was, perhaps, still waking up from her nap.

"Come with me," Ayumu said, beckoning her to follow him outside. The moment he stepped out into the rest of the Legation he noticed the chaos. Papers were scattered across the floor while staff hurried to pick them up and sort them. Someone was crying over a messy mound of papers beside her desk. Ayumu was pointed in the direction of the break room where he arrived too late. She had already managed to utterly annihilate the room with coffee and food waste. Ayumu's lunch box in particular stood out, emptied on the floor. Coffee was everywhere. Stepping back out he finally caught sight of Komora.

"Komora!" Ayumu called out to grab her attention before she destroyed anything else. "What are you doing here? I thought I told you your sensei had more for you to do?" Ayumu asked, astounded at the destruction the little girl had caused in such a short period of time. He turned his attention to Hikari, desperate. "Drowsy kid, take your classmate with you and go locate Yuii to continue your class," he said, pointing to Komora. He had reservations about putting the responsibility of reigning in Komora on Hikari's shoulders, but he mostly needed to get them out of here before more disruptions occurred.

Hikari was sitting patiently, quietly, and attentively. Although the strange man had asked her to follow with, it appeared that he suddenly was distracted by the ongoing chaos of outside. She watched with her blue bespectacled eyes as she yelled out for Komora (a common occurrence) and raced outside of his office. The Dandy Lioness found herself sitting alone in an ornate office waiting for nothing in particular.

Minutes passed by without the strange man walking back in. Hikari wondered when Yuii was going to return. As minutes turned into half an hour, even the well-mannered Hikari found herself struggling to stay awake. Having already made one poor impression, she decided that the last thing that she needed was to fall asleep before the strange man and decided to get out of their chair. She slowly sauntered across the office looking at the various artifacts and papers. She entertained herself by looking at the man’s veritable collection of rare tomes (although well duplicated copies were available in the library as per custom). But even her intellectual curiosity waned as she half-hour threatened to become a half-hour.

Hikari found herself looking at the box that Komora had grabbed earlier. She wasn’t particularly curious at first but now she wondered what was in the box. She tried to sit down again but the box was still there. She tried look away but the box always wandered back in her view. The young girl even tried biting her lips but she found herself unable to sate her curiosity. So she pondered the pros and cons. On the pro side was the fact that it was just a box and it wouldn’t hurt to take a peek. On the con side was the fact that it wasn’t hers. But even with the cons, the fact remained that she didn’t intend to take the box, she just wanted to see what was in it. So Hikari walked over to take a gander.

A small voice said “please no.” But as her vestigial self-control faded, she found herself trying to lift up the lid on the box. Hikari found that it was snug, perhaps even taped shut, but with the aid of a trusty envelope kunai, she found herself opening the box to a strange white dress. Hikari made a confused face as she took the dress out of the box. She wondered why the strange man had requested a bunch of students bring a dress for him. She thought it was really pretty and its silky construction felt good to hold in the palm of her hands. She took a look at the long dress before it suddenly dawned on her that this must be a gift. However, she still thought it was strange that they would order a dress and not even make sure that it looks right, although he did seem busy with the chaos outside. Hikari was curious enough to go forward.

Hikari tossed her thick jacket aside as she slipped into the pretty white dress. It was clearly too big for the tiny girl and the hat blocked her vision but she did feel pretty. Hikari rolled up the sleeves and grabbed the hem of the dress so she could walk over to the mirror without dragging it. She must not have been paying attention to her surroundings because she crashed into a bookcase.

Kyo had remained silent, listening to the instructor and the Main Branch Sennin as well as carrying his burden of the girl with nary a word. He watched silently as the Sennin drew a mustache on the girls face that he was carrying, he neither shifted or spoke as the process went on, he instead paid attention to the man’s movements in front of him, watching every single thing he did with an intensity that may well have been disturbing, the man was after all the a Sennin, and everything he did was something you should consider while performing your own duties, at least in the scarred young boys mind. He listened to the mission, which boiled down to an item retrieval, guarding it and transporting it back to the office. Simple enough, especially as such things went, and he had decided he would simply allow the others to act on the mission, instead following along quietly to screen for them if needed. The fact that Komora and the other girl were messing around immediately after being told of the mission made Kyo sigh silently to himself, though the taking of the girl from him and the waking of her would have been amusing to many others he simple silently waited before dashing up the stairs after Komora, watching as he had decided to do, he noted the other girl had if somewhat groggily in appearance, bounded up the stairwell and was waiting on Kumora and him as they had passed.

The boy watched Komora run amuck in the upper floors knocking and running along between them swiftly, and he continued his silent vigil following along behind, simply watching the undertaking of the mission. When the girl found the right door, purely by chance, she had been ready to continue on if it hadn't been for their instructor, calling out and insuring the package was delivered to them. The other girl had simple followed along and watched as well, though he wasn't sure of the reasoning behind it. Instead of worry about it he simply watched as their Instructor sent Kumora racing down stairs to deliver the package, something he hadn't been sure was a good idea, he didn't mind the absence of the girl though, and he took a moment at the end of the hallway, in front of the door that had been their destination to pause and focus, he listened and felt the vibrations through the floor as he sent out pulses of chakra, allowing him to get a better idea of what was around him. He was using his own jutsu*, one that allowed him to get a nifty map of the surrounding area and inanimate objects, the old woman was busy at working the other room, and he figured that she would rather despise him disturbing her to simply see the inside of her workspace. He saw various mannequins, bolts of cloth, and various clothing in varying stages of completion all about the room. While he couldn’t see the colors, he could feel the work being mighty fine, and understood why they would go to the woman for their clothing needs, though he still wasn’t sure why they had given her an office here in the Torre Celeste. That was likely something he would come to understand in the future, as time went on and he became more experienced in the importance of formal occurrences within their community.

He followed along with their Instructor, as she had said the girl could join the rest of them when she was done, which in his mind meant that they would be conducting the other half of the mission soon, the retrieval of the sword, though he felt that they would have been better off moving without the girl, as he had an obsession with knives, swords and other such things that was obvious to those around here for any length of time, and that may very well cause issues with the retrieval of a sword, which was supposedly dangerous, in a location that very well have several other such weapons being stored. The other girl had eventually followed along after Kumora, despite not having been told to, and with yet another silent sigh he turned to their instructor and gave a quizzical look, he waited a moment before shaking his head and speaking, “Should we proceed, or perhaps I should follow the two of them Instructor?” while he would much prefer the former, he figured he might be urged to follow the other two girls who had, he was assuming, returned to the Sennin’s office, one with the package to be delivered and the other with no real reason he had seen. He was sure that at least one of them were likely causing trouble as they went, if the ruckus they had made up here had been any indication.

Komora’s attention was caught by Ayumu. She didn’t know what exactly was happening but it seemed she had been told to been told to find her sensei? She wasn’t really sure who that was - since she was only following the blue haired lady because Chou had told her to. She didn’t realize this was supposed to be a class. In the mean time Ayumu had ordered Hikari to take responsibility for Komora, to which Komora proceeded to be amazed at how Hikari blatatnly ignored Ayumu. She followed Hikari as she entered Ayumu’s office. Komora just stood there expecting Hikari to do things for the entire time frame that she was just randomly poking around like no one was doing anything. Then she put on the Kage’ robes to which Komora began to giggle hysterically at.

Kogami-Sama - look it! Look it! she laughed as she pointed at Hikari.

It took several moments before Ayumu had noticed that Hikari did not, in fact, follow him out of his office. That was something he had no time to concern himself with, though. The monster child was still causing ruckus around the office. He did somehow manage to catch Komora's attention and the two of them returned to his office where Hikari had remained. Upon entering, Ayumu found the girl in the kage robes they had brought to his office. "What..." was all that Ayumu could mutter. What had happened to the academy since he had graduated. What was with these children? How in the world were they expected to become shinobi when they couldn't follow simple instructions? Yuii had her work cut out for her. Ayumu groaned, wiping his hand down his face.

He was about to become irate until Komora pointed at Hikari and Ayumu noticed the mustache still remaining on her face and gave a small snort transitioning into a laugh. "Ha! You look very prestigious," he said admiring the combination of the mustache with the kage robes. It didn't really bother him that she was wearing the robes as long as she didn't try to abscond with them. He only intended to use them when he was forced to anyway. Sighing, he shook his head. Clearly they didn't even know where Yuii was now or in one of their cases who Yuii was. He probably wasn't going to have much luck getting them to go to Yuii so the only solution was likely to get Yuii to come to them. In the meantime, they needed to be distracted before they became more destructive.

Ayumu poked his head out of his door and called to his secretary telling her to locate Yuii and tell her to come and retrieve her students. He then walked over to his desk and opened a drawer pulling out a second controller and plugging it into the console on his desk. "Both of you, take one of these, you can play the game while we wait for your sensei," he said, motioning to the controllers that sat on his desk. "When you push the buttons, pretty lights move around on the box!" he said, overly simplifying it for Komora. He hoped to Raiden that this would be enough of a distraction to keep them occupied until Yuii showed up.
