Whispy clouds white as milk billowed over head, blocking the sun and casting an abscured light over the village. The duo had awoken before dawn and set off at the crack of dawn for Toraono dojo. For a trained nin such a trek even for outsiders was a half an hour on average, but Kyoko was still a budding little tike who has yet to take off like her trained counterparts. As the two headed inward and toward the center of the village her father would glance at the peripheral of his eye to see a tinge of worry written on her face. He placed his hand on her head and asked, " "verthing alright my dear"? The gentle yet strong pat of her father brought the girl back on her guard as she shook his hand off of her and said, "
Geez father nothing's wrong"! He backed off a little as she pouted with a grin on his face. She on the other hand focused back on the road ahead and said, "
I'd rather go to school or stay home". He shook his head and looked up at the sky as if to collect his thoughts. " There are some things you can't learn at school or home little one. I'd much rather you learn here than out in the world". She nodded because she knew there was no changing her father's mind. He often was accommodating to her, but whenever he opposed her, she instinctively knew that it was useless to protest further. The two headed on further toward a slope overlooking a passage into the depths of the earth.
Kyoko peered over the downward path to see darkness accentuated by oil lamps and the hazy sunlight that shone down upon the underground village. The shadows were more prominent, as if they danced to the rhythm of the oil lamps which lit the way into the underground cavern. In the distance she saw some massive Gothic looking buildings. The closer she got, the more foreboding they seemed. Kyoko gulped as they loomed directly over her, bearing the scares of yesteryear. She knew nothing of the djinn or the maelstrom, except for stories her father told her about. But to see the rough, yet vexing elegant walls of the throne of bone astonished her. Shinobi from all over here, though they were mostly sand with some leaf nin lurking about. Her father knelt down before here and placed his hands on her shoulder. " Alright daughter, I want you to explore just a little while daddy goes and takes care of some paper work". Her eyes burned with an anxious fire as she stamped her foot forward. " Ah ah ah, remember you're a big girl now. I will be back. I just want you to explore just a little okay"?
Tears welled up in her eyes as she nodded reluctantly. The two of them entered the grounds to find various nin training in different ways. She saw some move so quickly that they disappeared before her very eyes. While others were doing more mundane training exercises such striking punching a punching bag. However the force was so great that it made gusts of wind push her back, instilling a visceral fear in her. Her father on the other hand left in the blink of an eye as she got lost in the amazement of the dojo's participants. Few noticed the little one as she was one of many young students visiting just like any other, but a few stopped what they were doing to give her pointers.
One such man was a bulky taijutsu fighter with eyes as white as paper, with no pupil to speak of. She didn't know who he was,but the man was a hyuga clan member who taught her to square of properly. " ALRIGHT LITTLE GIRL, arms held out like this, feet apart like so". Kyoko raised her arms just slightly extended a little more than half way, which would give her the option to defend or attack depending on the situation. And spreading her legs a quarter of a meter would give her leverage that made her feel surprisingly comfortable. In that moment she felt like she could stop anyone or anything charging at her. Though it was an improvised hyuga stance, it may prove invaluable as she grew more experienced. This continued for a bit as her father smiled at her from the shadows, but such confidence only lasted so long. Eventually Kyoko remembered she was in a strange place without her dad and immediately became distressed. She started to breathe more heavily and sweat slightly until she came across a quiet room. In the chamber was nothing more than a few mats and a pair of fellows sitting alone in the criss cross applesauce position her father had taught her.
Her mouth was slightly agape as she looked onto them with wonder in her eyes. To her the pair exuded a strong aura that she also wanted to as well. Without much thought she walked and took her shoes off as well. Positioning herself next to the man known as hiroshi, she looked at the two once more. In truth she was slightly unnerved by saito and could tell he was slightly disturbed by the expression he made while handling his blade. Like the lesson before she focused on her inner self and felt the different kinds of sensations that flowed within her. To the trained shinobi this would be manipulating the physical and spiritual energies from within, but for her, it was still a vague concept. All she knew was concentrating on her muscles and breathing made her body feel strong. While focusing on clearing her mind as she was told made her feel confident and at peace. Although no matter how much she tried to focus, there was always a sense of dread she could not shake off. Despite the heat of the desert bearing down on her, she still felt an innate chilled sensation that climbed up her spine every now and then. A sensation which grew more prominent whenever she meditated. She always felt like she was being watched, a sensation which reared its ugly head whenever she was tired or not actively awake. Her clothes ruffled as if blown by the wind ever so slightly as she delved deeper into an unaware blank slate of mind. A competing sense of peace and dread fought within her as she channeled her chakra as her father had instructed.
