Flashback!

"Why I asked you here, Ruin, was because I have an important task for you... but first I need you to do some 'clerical' work. You still have two apprentices, correct? I need you to get them both trained up to full ANBU status. Then, I will need you to do an inspection of the current roster of ANBU, doing a full inventory of what we poses and what we lack. Lastly, I will need you to then begin scouting those within this village who are not currently wearing a mask, to see if they could be conscripted into our ranks. If you can complete all that for me, I will have a job for you."

-----

*Click*

The lock opened relatively easy as he turned the key over. With a soft nudge the door swung lazily open with a slow creaking sound. The musty smell of old dust invaded his mask, straight through into his nostrils. A look of disgust washed over his face, but an ivory white mask gave no hint towards this facial change. Taking a step into the dark room he would reach over and flick on the nearby light switch. A brief moment after the overhead lights would flicker to life with a low thrumming buzz, the soft incandescent glow barely illuminating the large empty room. "This will have to do I suppose..." Grumbling out from under his mask his only slightly muffled voice would lightly echo off of the cold hard walls of the classroom. Setting a medium sized bag down by the door he venture further inside.

With no furniture in sight aside from the teacher's desk, which was also missing a chair, he would go to the back of the classroom and slip the key into the lock and turn it. This time there was no pleasant click, his key would not work. Turning the hand it too would not turn. With another audible sigh he would stoop down and pull out a few small metal instruments. A moment and a click later the door would now open for him. Inside were a number of desks and chairs stacked one on top of another. Collecting his thoughts for a moment he would then decide to pull out only a single chair for himself and lock the door once more before closing it behind him. Placing the chair behind the shoddy looking desk meant for him he would turn and face the chalk board behind it. It was moderately dirty with lazily erased markings on it, grazing over the sentence it appeared to say "Haru-sensei stinks!" written in sloppy handwriting that most certainly belonged to a student. With a soft chuckle he would pick up the eraser and wipe the board completely clean. Setting it down he would pick up a half used piece of chalk and write out in large letters "Anbu 101".

Going back to fetch the bag he would pick it up and place it onto the desk and release the latch holding it shut. Reaching inside he would pull out a small stack of paper and a handful of pencils. Arranging them nicely in an orderly fashion on top of the desk he would relocate the bag underneath the desk for now. Weaving together a not so complicated string of jutsu turned complicated and a scene cut here the scene would be set. A number of preliminary tests had been put into motion to gauge the varying degrees of skill and prowess each participating individual. Waiting and watching the masked instructor would be ready for anyone that would walk through the door. He would greet them with a simple "Welcome, please take a seat" while also springing a trap. Those with a weak will would find themselves caught in a multi-layered genjutsu that most higher ranking shinobi would easily discern. But those lacking experience or similar would see a different message written on the board and the sweet aroma of sugary baked goods heavy upon the air.

The message would instead read "Baking 101" and a line of ovens would be visible on the far wall. Upon entering they would also see three other young children of varying age and appearance. A brown haired boy looking to be about 10 would be leaning over a desk talking to a seemingly disinterested female with red hair looking to be about 13. A few desks back staring up at a the ceiling would be a blond haired boy chewing on a piece of gum. He appeared to be about the same age as the girl and looked as equally bored as the girl. And of course had whomever walking in fell under the genjutsu the masked teacher would look like a typical chef type, not wearing a mask. Stark black hair and aged to about mid 40s the chef type was the perfect mold for such a ruse. Should they attempt to take a seat in one of the open desks the genjutsu would abruptly end and they would find themselves on their rear ends on the floor. The facade would be dropped and the chef type would be replaced with the masked instructor as well as the writing on the chalkboard. The three kids already present would be laughing as they sat in their own chairs and desks. The rest of the classroom's genjutsu generated aspects would fade as well, the ovens, the smell, it all went back to normal.

In the grand scheme of things, learning new things and growing himself as an individual always seemed to prove useful. However, as of late Kuroko had been one track minded in growing himself as a Shinobi. Though, it was becoming a pain and he wasn’t exactly cut from that type of cloth. In all honesty, he was a Samurai and the arts of a shinobi seemed to clash with his own ideals, but it served his village. It served his lord, and in that a Samurai could find Honor. But every once in a while, one needed a break, and today rumor had it there was a very unique class down at the Academy. Unrelated to the harsh realities of his line of work, maybe this class would serve as some sort of breath of fresh air, and start to a new hobby.

Thinking back to his days in the Academy, Kuroko gathered basic items and of course, his personal armory. A true battle smith never strayed too far from his equipment. After all, they were his life line and without them, there wasn’t much he could do. That, and his basic Katana served as his pride and joy. Without it, he felt helpless, so even today it would be accompanying him to this rumored “Baking class”. ”Odd as it may be, I’m hoping they teach me how to make homemade pies. Maybe sweet potato, or apple. Hmmm.” He thought to himself, as he walked out his front door. Locking it behind him, he looked around him and waved at one of his neighbors. ”Hate that guy, but gotta be kind.” He thought to himself, as an obviously fake smile crossed his face.

Taking off, and dashing through the village, he quickly arrived at the Academy. Or more so, the Dojo. ”Yeah..... I don’t miss this place on bit.” He though, as flashbacks of his days at the academy passed before his eyes. He could remember every class, tutoring session, failure, and success he experienced. Some were great, others left him with scars. Shaking his head, he approached the building and entered. Walking through the hall ways, he searched classroom to classroom for the right place. Most were empty, others were just plain dirty. ”Clean damn it..... what happened to the janitors?” He questioned himself as he continued to walk throughout the building.

Until finally, he came across a classroom. Pooping his head into the room, be blinked for a minute and spotted several children and of course, a teacher who was dressed like a chief. ”This must be the right place!” He exclaimed as he entered fully. Placing his hands to his side, he bowed his head. Introducing himself, he said the following. ”Oda Kuroko, Genin, Reporting in.” Soon thereafter the instructor welcomed him in, and instructed him to have a seat. Raising his head, he nodded and looked around the classroom. There were ovens, desks, and a handful of students. Though, they were younger than him. Maybe ten year or so, but appearances can be deceiving. Taking one final look around, he noticed the chalk board. “Baking 101”. Smiling, he thought to himself before picking out a desk. ”Yep this is the right place.”

Finding an empty seat, he sat down only to find himself crashing to the floor. Laughter filled the air, and suddenly everything changed. The classroom now seemed empty, the desks and ovens disappeared, and the instructor's appearance changed drastically. Instead of looking like a chief, he now appeared as if he was some deranged weirdo with an odd mask. Suddenly, the writing on the chalk board behind the weirdo changed as well. From Baking 101, to Anbu 101. Kuroko’s eyes widened, as he realized that he was in the wrong place or at the very least, that rumor he heard was a cruel joke. Sighing, he caught himself and stood up. Brushing himself, he took a deep breath. ”I uhhh.....” He said, as he slowly stepped sideways towards the door, without breaking eye contact with the instructor. ”Ummm yeah...” He stated, as he slowly crept closer and closer towards the door.

”Well, this is a nice room you got.... haha.....uhhhh.” He stated, as his eyes finally left the creepy masked mans figure and fixated on the door. Knowing damn well he didn’t want to be here, the words just couldn’t escape his lips. Right now would have been the perfect time to drop a smoke bomb and slip out, yet Kuroko’s Honor as a Samurai prevented him from even carrying those cowardly items. ”Crap....” he whispered to himself, as softly as he could. Just a few feet seemed so far away, but any who were paying attention would realize that he was trying to leave. Rather or not he’d make it, he didn’t know.

Like lambs to the slaughter he had caught his first fly in his web of deception. A young man had happened across his classroom, whether it was intentional or a mistake was irrelevant at this point as he was here and it would be far too rude to just leave without permission. There was no honor in that, right? Oda Kuroko, or just Kuroko was his name. After being welcomed in Kuroko would gleefully strut on over to an "open desk" only to crash down unexpectedly.

Immediately the other kids in the room laughed and pointed, the brown haired boy pointing; "What an idiot, did you really fall for that?" The girl would smack him upside the back of the head promptly; "Shut your fat mouth, you fell for it too." The remaining boy however stared up at the ceiling unmoved by the scene. Kaen, under the guise of his Anbu attire, payed close attention as he watched the scene unfold. Kuroko's methodical half steps towards the door did not go unnoticed. Try as he might he would not make it out the door fully.

Just as his gaze broke Kaen would swiftly move in front of the doorway attempting to play it off as a joke. With Tenken's assignment he couldn't risk not investigating any potentially interested shinobi, even the disinterested ones if need be. As Kuroko would turn to leave he would immediately bump into the "masked weirdo". Unmoved and unphased by the sudden collision Kaen would speak up from under his mask. "My apologies Mr. Oda. May I call you Kuroko?" It was a rhetorical question masked behind equally feigned sincerity. Before he got a chance to reply Kaen would point towards the direction of the back door, simultaneously blocking the way out with his raised arm. "Please. You will find spare desks and chairs in there, please pull only one out." At this point it would almost become forceful if he still attempted to exit, but I suppose he couldn't technically hold him hostage in here and would let him go if he truly wanted to.

Otherwise, should he stay and do as requested, he would find that the door was locked to the back room. "Ah yes, I've seem to misplace the key. Go ahead and open it all the same, however you see fit." The first two would return to their conversation having already gotten in and retrieved their own desks. Leaning up against the frame of the door he watched through small eye holes in his Anbu mask. How long would it take Kuroko to get in, would he use finesse or muscle. The choice was his.

There had been a note against the door when Daijamitsu had woken that morning. It had been simple, stating only a dojo classroom number and the word 'attend'. Perhaps ominous, but definitely mysterious. Either way, it was an intriguing circumstance and one the Genin planned to follow through. Granted, he wanted to seek out his team leader, Kaen-sensei, first to determine if it was some kind of opportunity or trap; but when Daijamitsu tried to locate the other shinobi, he was met with failure, as Kaen was nowhere to be found.

I am capable of making my own decisions, Daijamitsu thought to himself, now decided on attending the dojo meeting. Kaen-sensei's wisdom would have been preferable, but I cannot allow uncertainty to dictate my path.

Daijamitsu made his way Toraono Dojo, alert and ready, not quite sure what to expect. He had his array of personal items, including his light armor beneath his robes, his snake wrapped around his arm beneath the over-large sleeve, and his pouches. Should the worst be the case, at least the Genin would be in a position to fight his way out. But, honestly, there seemed something more to this than some complicated attempt at an ambush. After all, Daijamitsu didn't really have enemies, nor was he well-known to warrant aggressive focus... so really this seemed more like an opportunity or test, if the logical patterns followed well.

It took twenty minutes to reach the destination, not fast but also not slow. Daijamitsu walked through what appeared to be a rundown part of the dojo area, with the rooms in various states of disarray and covered in dust. Some had school chairs and desks scattered about, others had graffiti on the walls. Generally though it looked like this part of the dojo had seen better days and hadn't been used in quite some time. Daijamitsu looked down to the note, double checking the room number, and soon found it. He stood just outside, observing through the opening, noting the well lit interior, as well as several individuals walking about within. The room was musty, dusty, and had little in the way of furniture.

Daijamitsu stepped through the doorway, where he was greeted by a tingling sensation, before he took note of the surroundings. A small gathering of young shinobi, standing or seated throughout the room, an older individual who stood near a rear door, and a man in an ivory white mask... and a quick glance to the chalkboard revealed the nature of the meeting:

ANBU 101.

"I am Daijamitsu," The Genin said, realizing the tingling from before must have been an ineffective Genjutsu. It had felt similar to past training he had undergone to protect his mind against such effects. "I was told to attend this gathering. It is an honor to meet one of the ANBU. I await instruction."

Not wanting to remain in the way, Daijamitsu walked across the classroom - looking at the shinobi that was working the rear door - and stopped beside the far wall. If others were coming, and there had been a Genjutsu present on entering, it wouldn't do to be standing in the doorway to obstruct what was likely a test. Thankfully, with his skill in Genjutsu use and avoidance, including a seemingly natural aptitude for resisting such effects, Daijamitsu hoped he had passed the test - if there had been one. Once he was standing still, Daijamitsu turned and crossed his arms. He stared at the ANBU operative, watching the ivory mask closely, yellow eyes narrow and observant...

Another innocent soul enters into the class as a blue haired girl wearing a rabbit hand puppet comes walking through the door. Kuroko fell for the series of illusions hook line and sinker. Daijimitsu resisted the genjutsu outright. Now the question is, how would Ren fair? Did she possess the strength of will or would she fail like most of the others? Answer was actually more complex. As Ren opens the door and steps into the room, she was greeted by the wonderful aroma of tasty bake goods. She sees the teacher within a chef outfit and gives a polite bow. Looking at the board she sees the words ‘Baking 101’ which brings a smile to the shy girls face. Ren was quite the baker herself as making sweets was how she made a living.

The smile she had was short lived however as she notices something odd. There was no food lying about and it was too early for them to be baking something already. Despite this there was a sweet aroma of sugary baked goods heavy upon the air. The smell itself was not specific as she could not really tell which baked good it was meant to be. Ren activates her Feral Shift but this time it was different. It was not a slave collar around her neck, but manacles around her wrists. Each metal band had a long chain connected to it. “Ren, calm down.” The puppet not on the same page as Ren was desperately trying to talk Ren down. “Everything is fine. Look it is even your favorite subject... cooking.” The puppet would point to the board.

Ren would shake her head violently, “Lies, lies lies.” However she does attempt to calm down before going into a panic attack. Ren closes her eyes and enters a sort of meditation her father taught her to relax. With eyes closed she pictures her chakra as a small flame within her body. It shines within her body and flickers with every heartbeat. She concentrates on her breathing taking slow deep breathes. The air mixes with the fire and fans the flame. Ever so gradually it gets bigger, hotter and brighter. The light, the light was almost tangible as it flowed through her body like little streams. As more light was put out the rivers begin to flood in excess. Haku Ren directs the flow of light every pore in her mind. “Reveal truth.” The genjutsu would temporarily fall apart and upon opening her eyes she would see and smell the room and as it truly is.

She would see the teacher’s mask and the words of the board. It appears she had entered a class meant to teach those who entered the ways of the Anbu. Obviously deception is a valued part in being an Anbu. She was no stranger to trickery as she pulls out a piece of candy and unwraps it. She plops the sugary sweet into her mouth and was about to toss the paper aside. This candy was of her own creation. The wrapper was a trap of some sort, while the candy had a little surprise in the center. However Her moment of clarity would soon come to an end and she would find herself once again in the illusionary kitchen.

Ren rolls the candy in her mouth to the side, which cause her cheek to bulge. “Please release.” Ren is a very shy girl who is unable to articulate full sentences and express herself well. However hopefully she was able to get her point across. If it is not, perhaps her chains would speak more clearly. Ren was quite skilled using chains as it was the weapon she used when she first fought in the stardust stadium, however these chains were different. and much more dangerous.

Within a blink of an eye, everything changed. Before he knew it, he would actually bump into the weird masked man. Taking a moment to realize what had just happened, he shifted the weight in his right foot as if he were about to back up. Though that was when this masked man spoke, asking If he could call him Kuroko. Before he could even nod, he watched as the man raised his hand and pointed towards the back door. Baffled as to how quickly this man blocked his exit, Kuroko instinctively looked in directed direction. Honestly, he didn’t have much time to react and his mind was a little flustered, though that wasn’t shown very much at all based off his reactions. It was in that moment that he kind of, instinctively, tied two and two together.

The Chalk board said Anbu 101, and this masked man was giving directions. It was obvious this man was an Anbu, and even though he was somewhat drowning out the chatter of the other children mocking him, he turned and walked towards the back door without a word. He understood that behind that door were seats and a desk, and that he was supposed to only pull one of each out for himself. Stopping briefly, he looked around and remembered his days at the Academy. Back then, the instructors tested them any way they saw fit. Somethings, there were traps and other hindrances, so he assumed this was one of those moment. ”Hmmm. Was the only sound anyone would hear from him, until out of the corner of his eyes he witnessed a new arrival to the class, which was shortly followed by another.

Slowly, he reached for the door knob and instantly realized it was locked. Glancing back at the Anbu, he heard him speak. The masked man claimed he had misplaced the key, and gave him clear instructions to open the door anyway he saw fit. ”Sir, you may call me whatever you like, but you’ll learn I'm different than your average shinobi. I'm actually probably less of a Shinobi than anyone else here. I’m more of a Samurai. If that doors locked, I can't open it like a shinobi..” He stated, while trying to be as honest as he possibly could. ”But, I can open it in a way that is unique to me.” He said while raising his hands and forming seals. Quickly, Chakra gathered into his hands and then into the point of his right index finger. Unless stopped, he would continue.

Forming a gun like gesture with that finger, and his thumb, a small but condensed sphere of air formed at the tip of his index. Placing this sphere of air, right before the key hole of the door knob, right before announcing the name of his technique. ”Air Bullet” With those two words, he pressed the condensed sphere of air into the key hole, jerked his thumb and instantly the sound of metal banging and shattering could be heard. Soon thereafter, the sound of a thump from the other side of the door could be heard as the backside of the knob fell to the floor. Taking his right hand, he twisted the door knob on this side with force, and then shifted his weight down upon it until the knob broke off.

The Mechanisms for the doorknob had been broken, and with the knob on both sides removed, he proceeded to open the door. At this point, if the Anbu did not stop him he would go into the closet, pick up a chair and place it onto a desk and then would begin dragging it out of the closet. Once out, he would close the now broken door behind him and set his seat down. If allowed, he would sit down and stare at the other two. Chances are, he had failed the first task of this class. But, Kuroko wasn’t Stealth, nor did he have any lock picking skills what so ever. The hidden approach never worked for him, as he somehow always managed to mess that up.

”That was the easiest way for me...” He said, as he looked towards the bratty children that were here before him. Sticking his tongue out, his attention soon turned towards the two new arrivals to the class. Neither one of them seemed fooled by the same Genjutsu as him. ”Bet they can’t forge a Katana though.” Thought Kuroko, as he listened to one introduce himself as Daijamitsu and then mention it was an honor to meet one of the villages Anbu. ”What the hell have I gotten myself into.... I just wanted to learn how to make pie and now I broke a door in front of an Anbu and this kid showed me up by not falling for that Genjutsu trick.... and there’s not even pie..” He thought before letting out a sigh. By this point, any who paid attention to him would realize that he probably felt out of place or uncomfortable, but he was in a weird situation. Without thinking, he began digging himself into this mess. Who knew how far he’d go before he found the courage to back out.

His approach had worked, this time, and Kuroko begrudgingly proceeded to make his way to the locked door. Quick to discover the locked aspect of the door he would turn his head towards Kaen; ”Sir, you may call me whatever you like, but you’ll learn I'm different than your average shinobi. I'm actually probably less of a Shinobi than anyone else here. I’m more of a Samurai. If that doors locked, I can't open it like a shinobi. But, I can open it in a way that is unique to me.” This was what he was wanting anyway, so it worked out perfectly. "No worries, take your time, Mr. Oda." He would then redirect his attention towards Daijamitsu whom had just entered.

He was glad he followed the note he had placed. Just the single interaction with him weeks ago was enough to tell Kaen how much potential this kid possessed. It was no surprise that the genjutsu had no effect on him. In truth he reminded him a lot of Kanmuri when he first met the Miroku boy so many years ago. He was especially excited to see what he was capable of today. If his suspicions were correct he would most likely prove himself more than capable in the next couple hours they would spend together today. "It's nice to meet you as well, Daijamitsu. Further direction will be given soon, for now just--" His sentence was cut off by the abrupt sound of metal twisting and contorting under pressure followed by a not so subtle thud as the doorknob fell to the floor. He would let Daijamitsu past where he would then follow the Anbu's movements from there. Stepping a few feet away from the door he would watch as Kuroko dragged the wooden desk over next to the other student's area and take a seat. ”That was the easiest way for me...” This was not exactly what he had in mind, but this was the point to these various tests. He wanted to gauge each of their relative skill sets. Chuckling under his mask he would validate Kuroko's actions. "Not a problem. I too might have opened it a similar way in my younger years. "

Disctracted by Kuroko's interesting methods of opening doors Kaen nearly missed the small girl that entered his classroom. It wasn't until he heard her perturbed cries that he turned towards her. “Lies, lies lies.” Swiftly turning around he would gaze upon the aqua-esk visage of a young lady. He did wonder where the other voice had come from though... In his line of work he picked up a thing or two despite not being naturally attuned to chakra. He watched silently as he watched the young girl built up a well of chakra within herself in an attempt to break free from his genjutsu trap. “Reveal truth.”

A sudden clarity washed over the previously glazed look on her face and she peered up at Kaen. Opening up a candy of some sort she would place it into her mouth and roll it over to one cheek. Through chipmunk like cheeks she would attempt to pluck at his heart strings. “Please release.” It was true, he had a sort of affinity to the younger generation. Though it would be unseen he would smile as he responded. "You're quite clever, aren't you." With a single hand Kaen would form a seal and release her from the genjutsu. "Class should begin shortly. Give me just a moment." With that he would excuse himself from her presence and make his way to the door Kuroko had heavy-handedly opened.

Kneeling down he would inspect the place where the knobs once were. "Hmmm..." He thought outloud while scratching the back of his head. He already knew what he wanted to do before he had even come over, but he wanted to give the impression he was slow witted to some degree. "Well shoot, looks like we're gonna have to improvise." Standing back up he would turn and clap his hands together. "Alright! Daijamitsu, Ren." That was what the other voice had called her, right? "You two are going to need to find a desk and a chair each. There are extra through this door if you can find a way in. Otherwise I will let you use your imagination. I do apologize for being a bit unprepared, sadly it would seem the dojo failed to fully accommodate my needs today." He wasn't sorry, this was planned from the start.

Kaen would make his way to the entrance and stop just before exiting. Turning to the class he would notify them that he would be right back. "I'll be but a moment. Don't go running away now. Also, stay away from my bag." And then he promptly left them to their own devices. But not really. Once outside he would utilize an Anbu technique and fade into the shadows. {Active Camo] and then create a spying device to watch the class and see what they would do while he was away. [Crystal Eye]

Not but a few seconds after Kaen had left the brown haired boy would lean over to Kuroko. "Sup, name's Hibiki. What do you do? You look pretty old to be taking classes, what are you, 30?" A factitious expression was horribly hidden behind a barely held back smile. It was obvious he was teasing the older boy. "I'm just messin with ya. For real though, is wind jutsu your specialty? Also, what the heck is a samurai?" This Hibiki kid was nearing on the side of annoying, but perhaps Kuroko would entertain the young boy's curiosity.

Meanwhile the red-headed girl would get up from her seat and walk over to Ren wherever she had found herself. "I can show you where I got mine, if you want? I need to use the restroom real quick anyways. You can call me Sora, it's nice to meet you... I'm sorry, what was your name?" At least not all of the kids where as blockheaded as Hibiki. If Ren decided to divulge her name Sora would smile brightly and say it was nice to meet her acquaintance. She would again offer to show her where she got her desk and exit the class to make her way to the restroom. Should Ren follow they could continue their conversation along the way, otherwise she would leave Ren to figure out the desk issue out herself. Meanwhile the blond haired kid still just stared at the ceiling chewing his gum, someone should tell him to calm down...

A number of events played out, to which Daijamitsu quietly observed. It seemed Ren, of whom the boy was familiar with, had been aware of the Genjutsu placed on the area and had sought means to remove it. That was good, Ren was skilled. There was also the older shinobi who burst through part of the rear door, breaking the door knob, and gaining the ANBU operative's attention. While the ANBU dealt with the door, Daijamitsu turned his attention to the others in the classroom. One had to assume they were the likeliest candidates for the ninja branch, and as such were vying for the positions available... and that meant the small gathering of shinobi were rivals for placement.

This will all be a test, then, Daijamitsu thought to himself, as he watched each potential in turn. There is also potential that this class of students is a set up, and some are already members of ANBU...

When the masked man spoke to both Daijamitsu and Ren, the Genin listened and nodded. It seemed part of preparation was to get a desk and chair, which seemed easy enough, but likely was another test. Daijamitsu simply assumed that everything they did from the point of walking into the classroom was being watched, graded and weighed against other potentials. That meant group unity and teamwork were out the proverbial door, as selection would come down to individual results.

Daijamitsu was fine with that.

"Yes, sensei," Daijamitsu said in response to the ANBU's orders. The Genin narrowed his eyes, watching the masked man, wondering for a moment. There was something familiar about his voice, but honestly time couldn't be wasted. "Consider it done."

And then the masked man was gone, as he stepped out of the classroom - offering a mention not to touch his bag - before leaving the potentials to their own devices. Daijamitsu knew they weren't alone. They were being watched. There was no chance a test would be unregulated, and while the Genin didn't know the exact method of observation, he was more than sure it was happening. So he waited, again, and watched the others as the young shinobi began to talk to others. Daijamitsu seemed to be the odd one out, as no one approached him, but that was acceptable as the boy was more interested in recognizing opportunities rather than making friendly... and speaking of watching, Daijamitsu also noticed the older ninja giving him odd looks every so often.

The man didn't seem happy. Uncomfortable, even. That said, if he was being included with Genin children, it probably didn't say much about his abilities or skills.

When Ren was approached by Sora, the young redhead with pigtails, Daijamitsu smirked. As Sora walked over to speak more with the girl and the puppet, there remained an opportunity to seize. Even during his academy days, Daijamitsu was said to be pragmatic, using every chance he could to complete his goal... and it just so happened one had presented itself. Without a word, Daijamitsu walked over from the wall, toward the chair and desk that had once been Sora's.

"Opportunity lost is an opportunity gained," Daijamitsu said simply, as he took the seat firmly with one hand - to affirm it was real and to shift it around to avoid any traps - and sat down at the desk when he felt it was clear. "If you truly intend to lead Ren to a place with more chairs and desks, as you claim, it should be simple to gather another for yourself a second time."

Seated in the chair, Daijamitsu remained alert, just in case Sora decided to do something stupid and attack him; but otherwise, the Genin remained still and awaited the return of the masked ANBU ninja, to continue the process and see what was required next...

Ren did not recognize anyone accept for the one kid she had a mission with. So apart from him she did not have a clue what the others would be like. The teacher already set a tone for the class with his little illusion trick. Daijamitsu was not the only one who suspected that the other kids might be a ruse. She moved such thoughts to the back of her mind and categorized it under paranoia. Besides there is no point in tipping her hand that quickly. Fortunately no one seem to suspect the tricks up her sleeve or at least they were as good at not showing it as she was.

The teacher then gives Ren and Daijamitsu their first ‘mission.’ Let’s admit the teacher was not very subtle in that area. He tries to play it off as lack of preparation for a class, but he was not fooling anyone. It was quite obvious this was a task that will be judged. The first test was to retrieve a desk and chair with the suggestion of getting them from this back room. He also mentions finding their own way inside, which seems a little odd considering the previous person broke the lock. It seems all too easy and practically yelled trap.

Speaking of traps; it appears the teacher overlooked the one Ren set not that long ago. The wrapping paper to the candy she plop into her mouth was a trap. To be more specific it was a heartseek seal set on a timer with the teacher as the target. Traps are a handy thing as they can even target a person in stealth like they were in plain view. The teacher might have himself hidden from his students, but the trap did not see a difference and would attempt to mark him all the same. A Heartseek Seal is a slip of paper that once attuned to a target, marks the initial user and the victim with a special seal for a short time. Once marked, the user may cause activate the seal to cause the seal to 'guide' their attacks towards the bearer of the alternate marking.

Ren had no interest in even stepping a foot into that room. Soon a girl named Sora would approach ren, which provokes Ren’s normal response. When the twin pony-tailed girl came to a stop beside her, Ren reacts with a quick retreat. After taking a couple steps away from the Sora, she then hides behind her hand puppet. Once again moving the object in her mouth she would respond, “Hi.” She says weakly and watches as the boy does a bow and introduces herself. From Sora’s words, Ren assumes the girl also did not trust the back room. From her statement Ren would assume she got her desk and chair from another classroom. This was likely a wise move on her part though Ren was hesitant to do it herself. The teacher said something about not running away and was unsure how leaving the room may be viewed. Soon the girl would ask for her name, “Um, Ren.”

Before Ren could agree or disagree, Daijumitsu made his move. Ren predicted this outcome, though she did expect him to wait for her to leave the room before stealing the desk. “I’m Usagi and it seems you have other matters to deal with. Don’t worry about Ren. Knowing her she has a plan.” The puppet playfully rubs Ren’s head, which makes Ren smile. Ren recalls the teacher saying he would allow them to use their imagination. Ren was going to hold him to that as she pulls out a storage scroll from her pack. If any of these people saw what happened at the walls they might recall her leading an army of teddy bears.

Ren was what is called a Journeymen. It is true that most Journeymen specializes in armors and weapons, but some are tinkerers capable of making unique traps. With the Storage scroll she would summon two teddy bears. The teddy bears would follow her commands and move by itself without any help from chakra strings. They were animatronic dolls that she created herself to act as traps. Ren points at one bear, “Desk” and then the other “Chair.”

138

Both bears bore the same color style of half white and half black. However the one was naked and the other was fully dress and carrying a large shield. This teddy bear would act like an oil trap: when triggered it will use its shield to suppress the target. Upon Ren’s command the bear would sit down and hold its shield above its head to act like a desk. The other Teddy bear was a hidden launcher trap. This little guy had retractable claws and when triggered will attack its target without mercy. Upon Ren’s command he would lay on his back in front of the teddy with the shield. Ren would sit right onto his soft tummy thus making him like a seat cushion.

Assuming her first trap successfully marked the teacher, Ren would pull out a piece of paper and begin writing something on it. She would then fold the note into a paper airplane and send it flying out the door. The Heartseek Seal would cause the projectile to swerve and hit the teacher. The note would read: FOUND YOU. IF the trap did not manage to mark the teacher she would simply wait and see what Sora was going to do now that her desk was taken.

Now that he was sitting down, his mind began to race. He could finally think and begin formulating a plan as to how he’d get out of this. Though, as he glanced around, for some reason he couldn’t shake the fact that everyone else was much younger than him. But at the very least, the Anbu in front of him didn’t seemed to be phased by how he went about breaching the back door. Even though he had damaged the school's property, he seemingly got away with it. After all, the Anbu stated that if he were younger, he might have opened it in a similar way. Nodding, he glanced over towards the other new arrival, watched, and listened. Apparently, Kuroko had thrown some sort of curve ball in the Anbu’s plans, resulting in him having to improvise.

Rather this was a good thing or not, Kuroko didn’t know. Then again, he didn’t care – more so, he was upset at the fact that not only was their not pie, he wasn’t going to learn how to make it either. A few moments later, the Anbu would apologize and explain that the Dojo hadn’t met his expectations or needs. ”They didn’t meet mine today either. This was supposed to be baking, and there’s not even pie.” He thought, obviously to himself. Suddenly, he noticed the Anbu walk towards the door and announce that he’d be right back, but to stay away from his bag.

With that instruction, his eye brow raised breifly before he watched the Anbu leave the room. Before even collecting his thoughts, Kuroko’s attention turned towards the brown-haired boy who was no speaking to him. Sup, name's Hibiki. What do you do? You look pretty old to be taking classes, what are you, 30?" The kid said, insulting him right after asking him a question. Hesitating to answer, the boy then spoke again. "I'm just messin with ya. For real though, is wind jutsu your specialty? Also, what the heck is a samurai?" He asked.

First, replying with a smile, he placed his onto the table, and folded them together. ”It’s nice to meet you Hibiki. To be honest, Wind Jutsu is just the first element I decided to learn. My specialty happens to be weapon based Taijutsu, but more specifically sword techniques.” He answered, before briefly pausing. First, he didn’t respond to the insult, but now he had to think about the next question about what is a Samurai. Different people would give different answers, but Kuroko could only give his own. ” Traditionally, Samurai were military retainers to important figures such as a Daimyo. Most of which practiced the code of conduct of Bushido. In case you’re wondering, Bushido is a code of honor and morals developed by Samurai. “ He stated.

Shortly after, his he glanced back over towards the desk the Anbu was standing at in the beginning of the class. The instructions of not to mess with his bag still bothered him. Trying his best to ignore the lack of pie and focus on what was before him, he began attempting to connect the dots. From the moment he walked him, he was tested with Genjutsu. Then, he was tasked with opening a lock door, which would test technical stealth and possibly infiltration-based skills. Then suddenly, the instructor claimed he had to improvise, left the room, but made a clear instruction of what not to do. Either this was a new task, for the Anbu present today wasn’t living up to the reputation of Anbu. He hadn’t much about Anbu at all, but what little he had heard clearly indicated them as highly intelligent, master of the crafts, relentless hunters, and lethality incarnate.

"It’s another test.” He thought, while looking girl who had joined them. Her and that Dai kid seemed to be a step above them and they were acting. At the moment, they were either putting on a façade and pretending to be normal for their age, or they were up to something. Perhaps they had caught on too. Though suddenly, the girl would summon two unique teddy bears and immediately give them commands. The girl basically sudden her own makeshift desk and chair. Then turning his attention back to that Dai guy, Kuroko realized the guy was a total seat thief. ”Kids a jackass, but he did as he was told.” Thought Kuroko, as he clapped his hands together.

”Hey everyone, he's been testing us since we walked in, so I'm pretty sure this is a test as well. He’s an Anbu, he’s claiming he was unprepared and left after specifically telling us not to touch his bag. Maybe we shouldn’t, or maybe we should. If anyone wanted to, someone could stand by the door with it open, another could drop a smoke bomb, someone else could go for the bag, and once we found out what’s in it, I could blow the smoke away with a wind jutsu. Though, there’s probably a better way. Any suggestions or ideas?” He said, knowing he’d either be looked at stupidly, or someone would take him serious. What happened next, he didn’t know. ”Either I’m a bad influence without pie, or I'm on to something and still without pie.” He thought.

As Kuroko went on to explain his skills and way of life, Hibiki would listen on with captivated ears. Kaen having now stepped out of the classroom the scene would continue to unfold. “Um, Ren.” The small blue-haired girl would timidly reply. "It's nice to meet you, Ren." And then without warning Sora would nearly jump out of her skin at the sudden occurrence of a talking hand puppet. “I’m Usagi and it seems you have other matters to deal with. Don’t worry about Ren. Knowing her she has a plan.” An expression of great confusion flooded Sora's face in response to the exchange of pats. Either this girl was Sungakure's best ventriloquist and partially crazy for such dedication to the act, or this thing was sentient. She couldn't decide which was worse. But she would not have very much time as Daijamitsu's voice pulled her out of her nightmarish daydream.

"Opportunity lost is an opportunity gained," Sora would turn around to see just what this strange looking kid was talking about. With wide eyes filled with disbelief and a hint of rage, near physical flames would fill her gaze as she witnessed Daijamitsu stealing her seat. "If you truly intend to lead Ren to a place with more chairs and desks, as you claim, it should be simple to gather another for yourself a second time." With her fists clenched into tiny balls of fury Sora would stamp a single foot down onto the hard wooden floor. "You can't do that! That was my seat, I got it from another classroom and drug it all the way here. Get out before I loose my patience..." Through gritted teeth she would throw her seething warning towards Daijamitsu. But before he would get a chance to respond the kid chewing gum would finally make an audial appearance.

"HA! I told you to go before we got here, and so did mom. You never listen, do you..." Interesting turn of events maybe? It would appear that the uninterested blondie was brothers with Sora. "UGH! You just love to rub it in my face, you're such a jerk Satoru! Will you at least help me? You're suppose to look out for me or something aren't you?!" Obviously irate she would beckon for her brother to come to her aid, but this would not be happening today. This was Anbu 101, it was survival of the fittest, however you might define that. "Pffft! As if, he jacked it square and fair. Sensei did say 'whatever means necessary' is what I recall him telling us. It's fair game if you ask me." In a fit of bitter resentment she would pull at her pigtails and plunge the tufts of orange hair into her face and scream. "AGGGGHHHHHHHH!" Seemingly used to this sort of behavior Satoru would resume his former position and attitude, chewing his gum. Without another word Sora would storm out of the classroom and down the hallway towards the bathroom.

All the while Ren was minding her own business as she created a clever desk and chair from some odd looking bears. The art of puppetry knew no bounds save that of the imagination. Ren's appeared to be leaps and bounds above the rest of her peers and found no trouble finding, or acquiring, her own seat for class. In truth Kaen had not noticed the trap Ren had placed on him. Again her imagination bested her betters with her creativeness. Who would have thought a wrapper to a sweet would be a potential trap. One might consider similar applications with explosive notes. And so the tiny crafted plane of paper would soar around the corner of the door and poke Kaen straight in the chest with a subtle -boop-. Leaning down to pick the paper place up he would proceed to unwrap it. With an amused smile he would chuckle a bit. This class was chalk full of potential. Tenken would be pleased at this. But unfortunately his smile would not last as disruption filled the class.

Any suggestions or ideas?” This concept intrigued Kaen and he wondered how it would play out. And so he would plant a seed. A short moment later the tiny paper airplane would discretely fly its way back to Ren and land gracefully on top of the shield meant to serve as the desk surface. For now he would stay out of sight, but still attentive towards the on-goings within the classroom. Sora was the only one missing for the moment and it seemed as if nobody else was going to be coming to class. Would Kuroko discover the contents of the bag? Would Sora return with a desk? Would Kuroko still go on about pie? Find out next time on Dragon Ball NC!!!

Through the entire exchange between the pigtail redhead and blonde gum chewer, Daijamitsu remained silent. His yellow eyes slowly shifted back and forth between the pair, his posture casual on the chair, with hands flat on the desk surface. He didn't expect that a fight would break out, but he also didn't plan on being unprepared, so he waited. Surprisingly the pair argued with a sense of familiarity, which made the pale Genin wonder if they were friends or teammates or even related, but in the end he didn't much care as both were ultimately his competition for a position within ANBU. At the end of the Sora's tantrum, followed by Satoru's dismissive comments about Daijamitsu's actions, the situation seemed to calm down some. Sora stormed out of the classroom after a scream, which told Daijamitsu all he needed to know about her...

She is not competition, assuming she is not playing a role for ANBU, He thought with a sigh. Now to observe the rest.

Despite missing the airplane sent sailing out of the classroom by Ren prior, with Daijamitsu having been observing others, he did catch the airplane returning. It was an odd event, really, literally like note passing in class. And while Daijamitsu wondered what was on the airplane - if anything - it also didn't raise enough concern to do anything about it. Instead, Daijamitsu waited and wondered absently when the masked ANBU would return.

Hm?

Then suddenly the older potential recruit spoke up, filling the otherwise quiet room. He mentioned how it was all a test, which was obvious to anyone paying any degree of attention, but failed to consider that the ANBU may well still be watching? Or was the older recruit's ploy to make others delve into the bag near the door, in order to have them fail? It was clear there was an expectation from the masked ANBU, and there was a difference between seizing an opportunity and mistaking one for a trap. Daijamitsu sighed again, as he turned to look at the older shinobi - or samurai - before the pale Genin raised an eyebrow and spoke in a low tone.

"Two types orders have been given so far," Daijamitsu said simply, his yellow eyes unblinking. "One that allows ingenuity, the other obedience. Learn the difference, quickly, for your sake."

With a shake of his head, Daijamitsu turned back to face the front of the classroom. He could have kept his mouth shut, could have let those interested in trying to open the bag simply do so, but he also didn't want to earn a place in ANBU by default. So far it seemed the only real competition was Ren and the brown haired boy; as the older samurai wasn't crafty enough, Sora was too childish, Satoru was loud and obnoxious. Hopefully the masked ANBU would return soon to continue the process and remove a few individuals...

Earlier she sent a fun little message to the teacher, who hiding not that far away and in return she got a message back that was much more serious. She sees the paper airplane flying through the air towards her makeshift desk and it seems she was not the only one to notice it. Ren smiles seeing that the teacher was willing to play with her in this small way and she eagerly opens up the piece of paper to read the reply. The smile she once had was replaced with that of sheer horror as she read the note to herself. She was given a difficult task that would need some quick thinking and thankfully she is quite skilled in the art of deception.

Daijamitsu spoke and his words put some ease on little Ren. After what she just read it would not be good if some random person went after the bag. Unfortunately the genin’s words might not influence the others and she needed to prevent the other students from disobeying orders. However she cannot simply tell them what was written. She needed a plan to direct their toughts somewhere else and she need to do it fast. “Um, attention please.” Ren tried to speak louder than usual in attempt to direct their attention to her. “I-I have a m-message from the sensei.”

Usagi understood her intentions and the hand puppet discreetly dives into Ren’s pouch. The felt rabbit grabs pencil and paper and was ready to begin to forge the teacher’s handwriting. “It s-says that the class has o-officially b-begun.” Usagi would write down Ren’s words doing its best to imitate the teacher’s hand. “Your f-first test is to p-pro-protect Sora on her way to the restroom.” From Ren’s understanding of the Anbu, they are sometimes asks to guard certain people, so it would not be too much of a stretch for an Anbu teacher to give such a task. Ren was lying to their faces, but her nervous nature makes it difficult to tell that she is lying. “T-that is all h-he wrote.” Usagi quickly folds his piece of paper into an airplane and then unfolds it.

Ren would then palm the real note tucking it into a compartment in her sleeve. Should someone wish to read the note for themselves, she would hand them the forge note. “W-we have t-to hurry,” Ren says hastily getting to her feet. She would make a beeline to the door with both hands free. Though she did lie about this task, it does not mean it won’t become true. The teacher was listening in and there is a chance that he might play along.

Waiting for everyone to either play along or disagree, he quickly realized the class was entire uninterested. First the seat thief spoke down to him, which caused Kuroko to grin. ” Yes, seat thief. Please continue to lecture me on proper etiquette.” He replied before standing up and glancing around the room. These seemed to be some sort of movement, albeit slight. Still, not enough for Kuroko to really care. Placing his hands on his hips, he walked around to the front side of his desk and glanced at both the bag, and the chalk board. ”I ended up here because of a rumor that turned out to be a lie. I then got tricked with a Genjutsu, lied too about a lock just to see if I could get in there, and now the guys gone. Not only that, but these little kids are doing whatever they like.” Kuroko thought to himself.

At this point, he had no reason to trust anyone within the classroom. Maybe one of them was an insurgent. After all, two of them entered and were seemingly unaffected by the Genjutsu at the beginning of the class. ” Don’t trust em....” he thought to himself, right before fixing his gaze upon ren. ” Then this one showed off some impressive skills, and summoned puppets to use as a desk. She’s smarter than that seat thief, so if only one of them is an insurgent, it’s probably her.” He thought. Looking around, he began instinctively judging everyone around him, though he tried to hide it. For the most part, he’d appear black and almost thoughtless.

Suddenly, he began to walk to the front of the room, near the Anbu’s desk. ”If it’s a trap, this’ll set it off, or maybe expose someone.” He told himself, right before glancing at the bag. Averting his eyes, he stared at the chalk board. He had no intentions on being the one to touch the bag, at least not yet. As his approach continued, his right hand slipped down to his waist, grabbing the hilt of his Katana. Quickly, he drew the sword and leaned it back over his right shoulder. Around this time, he would bypass the bag entirely. Not really a shocking decision, but one that mattered. No one really knew Kuroko in here, and to be honest he didn’t care to be here. The fact of the matter is, he was lied to. He came to learn how to cook pie, in a baking class, so that he’d never have to rely on someone else to make him one.

It wasn’t happening, and it bothered him. Right as he approached the board, he heard one of his classmates talking. “I-I have a m-message from the sensei. It s-says that the class has o-officially b-begun. Your f-first test is to p-pro-protect Sora on her way to the restroom. T-that is all h-he wrote.” He said, basically telling everyone the instructor of this, whatever the hell it was, only told her the objective. Glancing out of the corner of his eyes, his mind began to race. ” When and how?” He asked himself, grabbing a piece of chalk. Raising It to the board, he began to draw upon it.

Those who watched him would see him draw two vertical lines parallel to each other, connected together on top with a tilde. Reaching a little further up, he began to write out “Pie not included” directly under Anbu 101. Placing the chalk back down, he would head back to his seat. Though, while in the process of walking back. He spoke, in reply to Ren. ”If you say so. It’s not like I wasn’t lied to in here already today.” Though, if any would care to stick around and wait for him, he’d simply smile and wave to them. If this was a real request, and he failed some sort of test, oh well. Kuroko wanted to learn how to make pie, and to eat pie, not be lied to and tested. He was here by accident, and based off how things were going, he wasn't really in the mood to trust anyone around him right now. Upon arriving to his seat and desk, he’d sheathe his sword and sit on top of the desk itself. At this point in time, he had no reason to participate. He didn’t care about the bag, nor the random student that ren said he now had to protect. The fact was, he had been lied to be about the class, but more importantly, about pie.

Overall, he was just very displeased in general. Shinobi were incredibly sneaky, which meant they also made good liars and thieves. At this point, he had no ambition to do anything other than wait. The rest of the class could follow suit, and go protect some girl on her way to the bathroom if they wanted. ”The instructor also said not to go running away.” He stated, while still sitting on top of his desk. Folding his arms now, he continued. ”Go on without me. I don’t trust it.” He stated. On one hand, heard the instructor say not to go running away before leaving. On the other, someone who Kuroko thinks is an insurgent, or at the very least a liar, is telling him the instructor told them, and only them, that the entire class was to run off and do the opposite of what the instructor specifically told them not to do. Something smelled fishy, when it should have been smelling like pie.

The board was set, the pieces were moving. Not but a few awkward silent moments later after Kuroko had made his un-trusting statement a high pitched scream would emanate from the hallway. "Ahhhh! PLEASE STOP, NOOO!" The cries sounded urgent and frightful, there was no mistaking Sora's voice. In an instant Satoru would jump out of his seat and falling to the floor in a panic. He had not believed Ren either, siding with Kuroko's statement. Hibiki would look dazed and confused with the sudden commotion. "Shit!" A pained tone in his voice, those that looked would see blood dripping down his leg. Apparently he had cut it on a sharp corner of the desk or chair, or perhaps a loose screw. The how mattered not, the small puddle of blood that was forming at the base of his foot was however. In a surprising act of courage and urge to help his sister he would opt to cauterize the wound on the spot. I was hoping nobody would find out my specialty, but the time for clever deceit is over. URGGHHH!" Vibrant hues of orange and crimson sparked to life in his palm as he used a fire jutsu to seal the wound shut for now.

Hibiki's face turned pale and looked like he would puke. "Oh man, this class is too real." Not used to the sight of blood he was easily overwhelmed, but Satoru's sudden reply helped snap him out of his funk. "Are you for real? Grow up, act like a real shinobi. If this small mess is gonna freak you out you should just leave. So either get up and help me save Sora or piss off." This would be enough for Hibiki to get his ducks in a row and come to terms with the situation. Together the two would dash out of the classroom, their footsteps echoing down the hallway. Now only three remained, sensei still MIA. Still no official class work and still no pie. Should either of the three choose to venture out into the hallway they would find no trace of their supposed instructor as he was gone from this place. No longer hiding outside the room watching, he might very well be helping attend to Sora's urgent cries for help.

Shortly after saying he didn’t trust it, and telling the rest to go on without him, a shout could be heard. As one eye closed, he began to take everything in. Everything so far had been about deceit, challenges, and controversy between the classmates. Kuroko was conflicted, though the shouts of a young girl screaming bothered him. Within that moment, Hibiki reacted and somehow hurt himself. The kid was freaking out over a little blood, and another began to shout at him. Trying not to focus on this incident, the shout played back over in his head.

At this moment, Kuroko stood up and formed hand seals. Wind based Chakra began to form around his hands and feet, almost giving off a slight breeze. (Shredding Touch) Lowering his hand down to the hilt of his Katana, he drew his blade once more. This time however, a moderate amount of Chakra poured into the blade. (Chakra Extension) Only those who could visibly see chakra could tell, but now it’s reach had been extended the blade and sharpened it. ” To hell with it.” He said, under his breathe. Watching the other two charge out of the classroom, he quickly followed suite.

At this point, Kuroko didn’t care. He wasn’t getting pie and he was lied to, but the situation had changed. Apparently one of their classmates was in trouble, and from her frightful shouts, it was time to kick both caution and suspicion to the curb. Clearly at this point, he didn’t care what the other two he was leaving behind had to say. ”If this turns out to be some spider of something, I'm gonna be pissed.” He thought to himself, as he exited the room. Breaking into the main hallway, he looked around and saw the other two boys out of the corner of his eye. Focusing on the direction they were heading, which also appeared to be the direction of the voice, Kuroko followed as fast as he could.

”I can’t shake this feeling.” He thought, as he noticed the surroundings. ” The hallways are desolate and there’s no traces of anyone else anywhere.” He thought, before his mind once again turned to the fact that this in itself could be another deceitful tactic. That, or this young girl could be yelling over a spider. At this point, who really knew what was going on. For all Kuroko knew, he could have failed whatever test this might be. But still, he couldn’t ignore the sounds of anyone shouting in fear, or for help. Even if there wasn’t gonna be any pie, at least he could hold true to himself and say he tried. Maybe all this would be fruitless, or better yet, pie-less effort.

Daijamitsu remained where he was. He wasn't completely convinced that any such order had been given, nor did he feel comfortable listening to anyone other than the ANBU giving those orders. If this whole thing was a convoluted test to determine suitability, then the pale Genin planned on his report stating he was capable of focusing on the task at hand, completing said task, and maintaining readiness until told to do otherwise - by an ANBU superior. Besides, Daijamitsu was familiar with Ren and her puppetry skills, knowing how the female could throw her voice around to make it sound like it came from almost anywhere.

And who is to say she is not doing that now? Daijamitsu thought to himself, as he watched the proceedings. I was ordered to get a chair and desk, and to keep out of the bag.

There was little else to do for Daijamitsu other than to wait. Whether this was some part of the test he would ultimately fail, he couldn't be sure. But the Genin didn't believe failure would come with following the orders as given and ignoring the request from a fellow recruit. Especially when there seemed like no reason to run off on a fools errand. For all they knew, the screams were a distraction, aimed at drawing the class away from what was the real test... the ability to focus, and ignore diversions, at all costs to complete the orders given.

"I recommend staying," Daijamitsu said simply, though by this point it seemed everyone who intended to go was doing so. "But that is just me, it seems."

With narrowed yellow eyes, Daijamitsu remained observant of the room. He wondered if someone planned to use this time to access the bag, which was also a likely scenario for the curious, who thought the events outside offered a good opportunity to snoop. But, again, Daijamitsu wasn't willing to deviate from the official ANBU orders as far as he saw them. And while there could be said to be leeway and give in the world of the ANBU, in order to get the job done, as far as Daijamitsu was concerned he had fulfilled the tasks appointed to him up until this point...

And they do not include rescuing a child throwing a tantrum outside.

Once outside the classroom and into the dimply lit hallway Sora's scream would echo down the halls once more. "Eeeeeeiii!" The blood curdling scream caused Hibiki's knees to buckle nearly giving out from under him. "It came from this way!" Satoru's sudden commanding voice directed the following group down to the right where he took off sprinting. "Oh man..." Hibiki reluctantly began to follow. Kuroko most likely had made it out by now, as well as Ren. All that remained was Daijamitsu.

Without warning Sora's body would come flying into view, crashing into a metal garbage can and spilling the contents from the now dented container. A sickening retching noise resulted from the impact, Sora's body crumpling along with the garbage can. Although the visibility was not the greatest, it was plain to see the streaks of crimson blood that covered Sora's clothes. Despite the apparant pain she was in she scrambled to her feet and began limping towards the group. "Sora?! What happened, are you ok?" Tears already in her eyes she continued towards the group as best she could. "Just run! He's right behind me, just run!!!" As she made it to the now stopped group Satoru would attempt to stop her and tend to her wounds, but she would push past him. "No! Just run, he's gone crazy!" Hibiki now suddenly curious would ignore the command and venture closer down the hallway where she came from.

"Dude, what the hell are you doing? There's a crazy person that way, where the hell did the instructor go?!" He called back to Hibiki who continued to get closer to the corner Sora had run out from. "She's probably faking man, I bet she's in on it with that Ren girl. You saw how buddy buddy they were acting earlier." Sora now nearly to the classroom down would yell back at Hibiki who was only a few feet away from the corner now. "You don't understand, you idiot! The crazy person IS the sensei!!!" With a confused look Hibiki would turn back to Sora. "What are you going on about? You're joking right, there's no way someone from the Anbu would ----." He would not get the chance to finish the question as he was suddenly pulled around the corner.

"Agggh! No, what are you, no, NO, NOOOo --- Urghghlglglglllll." Blood started to ooze around the corner of the hallway, a juicy thud resounded threw the halls as the sound of a body fell onto the cold, hard flooring. Sora burst into tears and ran into the classroom. Satoru's face turned pale and white as he stumbled backwards. "Oh my god, what the heck are we going to do?" Fear and panic quickly setting in Satoru's earlier casual expression was exchanged with dread and uncertainty. He would follow his sister into the classroom to tend to his sister who had ignored anything Daijamitsu would have tried asking and was cowering in the corner. Turning to Daijamitsu Satoru would look at Daijamitsu and explain the situation as best (worst) he could. "Hey man, the teacher just murdered someone, he tried to kill Sora too I think. What should we do?" What was there to do at all? There were no windows in this room for them to escape from, the supply closet was a dead end. The only other way out was through the halls.

A metal scraping sound echoed down the halls as the Anbu instructor turned the hallway, dragging a sword behind him. He would ignore Kuroko and Ren unless they attempted to engage him. Should they or anyone else try to intervene in some way the Anbu's body would explode into a murder of crows, their wings fluttering violently about before reforming into three bodies. Two of them would stand in the way of both Ren and Kuroko while a third would easily slip past and enter the classroom, the bloodied blade still trailing behind. "Oh, there you are. You shouldn't just up and run off like that, Sora. You know it's against the rules to be running in class..." The sentence trailed off giving the effect of a crude smile being spread across his face like a maniac. He would begin to walk towards Sora and Sataru, blade still lazily trailing behind him on the floor. What an interesting turn of events, what would become of the siblings, how would anyone stop him? Would anyone even try? Surely they were not mad enough to try and take on a member of the Anbu. They already saw what happened to Hibiki, and he seemed to only want the siblings. Perhaps this was the chance to get away while they could...

There was a scream and immediately all the shinobi was called into action. Ren was the first out the door running down the hall. Satoru, Hibiki and Kuroko follow shortly after. Daijamitsu decided to remain as he was determine to follow orders to the bitter end. However he was not alone in the class room. Sitting in the make shift desk of teddy bears was none other than… Ren? Daijamitsu could swear he just saw her run out of the room a minute ago. She was the first to leave the room and he would have noticed if she returned and yet here she was. The Ren that sat at the desk was different and yet familiar as he has seen this version of Ren before.

At the beginning of the class Ren wore a large green raincoat that has a pair of rabbit-ears on the hood and boots that match her raincoat. However for some reason her raincoat and boots were now black with a slightly different pattern. Ren had blue hair and blue eyes when they started this class, but now it was like all the pigment in her body just left her. Her hair was white, her skin pale and eyes red. Or at least the one eye was red as her one eye was covered by and eye-patch for some reason. This Ren did not have a puppet on her hand like she normally does. Though, if he could recall correctly, neither did the Ren that left through the door.

“So we meet again, my sweet.” This Ren spoke in the voice she normally reserves for Usagi. Daijamitsu first saw this version of Ren back in the labyrinth after she received a crippling blow. More screams came from outside the door. “Definitely sound like something going on.” The white haired Ren then summons a puppet, which look like a chibi version of her normal self. It seems like she was applying some sort of poison onto it.

Meanwhile in the hallway Hibiki was to curious for his own good as not to long after turning the corner he was attacked. The boy was struck down in a single attack, though it did sound like he didn’t do much to defend himself. His body collapses to the floor and blood begins to pool. One of the kids already writes off the lad for dead, but Ren was not going to give up on him to easily. Ren was once a slave the fought in the great stardust stadium. She has both seen and experience some rather extreme injuries in her time. Ren’s back was littered with scars and not all of them were from a whip.

Ren counts herself fortunate that the teacher seems to not react to her as she runs past him to Hibiki. The boy seems to be bleeding badly and she needed to stop it before the boy bled out. Putting a hand on the wound she would use her powers to mimic the effects of clotting powder. The boys bleeding would come to a sudden and complete halt. The boy was still in critical condition and was starting to wish she did not leave Usagi in the room. Ren places a couple of soldier pills in Hibiki’s mouth and with a bottle of water gets him to swallow them. With any luck this will get him moving again.

Suddenly two of the kids that left the classroom would come hurrying in through the door. They spoke of the teacher killing someone. The white haired Ren seemed rather concerned about that but held her tongue on the matter. The two of them were probably surprised to see her in the room. Instead talking to them, she silently approaching the cowering girl and uses a Coagulation juts to stop the bleeding. Unlike the Ren in the hall this one knew medical ninnjutsu.

Soon the teacher would enter into the room and approach the two siblings. The white haired Ren would look at him seemingly not impressed and go back to providing healing for Sora. The teacher would give his line and she responds by rolling her eyes and yielding an annoyed sigh. “Aren’t you too busy teaching a class to satisfy your bloodlust?” Should the teacher attack any of them she would use her puppet in a castle maneuver. By hitting the doll he would trigger its projectile launcher trap, which was poisoned with plexistim.

Commotion. In this very moment, hell seemed to break loose. The screams Kuroko so urgently chased out into the hallway were quickly met with surprise. Kuroko wasn’t really focused on the two kids that darted out before him, but before his very eyes the young girl he thought he heard yelling out was sent flying. Stopping in his tracks, he watched as she crashed into a garbage can which subsequentially spilled its contents onto the ground. He was shocked, not from seeing someone manhandled like that, but from the fact that today's events were completely all over the place. He expected to learn how to bake, cook a pie, and have a few slices, but not young kids were being abused and tossed around like toys. At the village’s academy, no doubt. The other two tended to her, as she got to her feet and limped towards them.

By this point, he words still hadn’t reached him. His guard was up and his mind was in disbelief. Suddenly, he noticed the blood stains all over Sora. Fixating on Hibiki as he continued to dart down the hallway, Kuroko stood there. He was not afraid, but alarmed would surely explain how he felt. Suddenly, Sora’s words reached him. "You don't understand, you idiot! The crazy person IS the sensei!!!” She said, and while Hibiki turned to respond, he seemed to be yanked around the corner mid-sentence. Almost instantly, Hibiki began to yell and scream. Blood would seemingly ooze around the corner, as a hard thump could be heard.

At that moment, both Sora and Satoru would run off, back towards and into the classroom. The kids were scared. ”They call themselves Shinobi.” He thought, before hearing the sound of metal scraping right before the instructor turned the corner. Looking the instructor in the eyes, he paid close attention to the man before him. Kuroko’s sword was still drawn, but a weird feeling engulfed him. Suddenly, he realized the instructor get closer to him. ”This doesn’t make sense.” He told himself, as he appeared dropped his guard. It was at that moment that Kuroko realized that he wasn’t a target and seemingly, the instructor bypassed him completely. ”The things I’ll do for pie.” He told himself, before sheathing his blade and slowly following behind the instructor.

About this time, the chakra passing through his blade, hands, and feet settled and dispersed. Keeping his distance, he followed the instructor back into the classroom. This time, instead of speaking or making a rash decision, he slowly stepped to the side and distanced himself from the situation, almost as if he were heading back over to his desk. ”An Anbu wouldn’t just kill without cause, that’s not how this works.” He thought, before folding his arms and continuing to watch. ”Is this another fucking Genjutsu?” He asked himself, as he prepared himself just in case.
