Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Kazuki had been in a slumber for years. Recovery from the ordeal with the Daimyo and his Sovereign had take its sweet time. A normal shinobi wouldn't have survived the fight, but Reaper wasn't a normal shinobi, not by a long shot. Originating from Leaf, long ago, he relocated, along the survivors of his original Hidden Village, and his surviving kinsman to Sunagakure, where they were accepted and lived in peace. As a Senju, the White Wolf's life was one of pursuit of power, of souls. A rare characteristic among the shinobi world, one he never fully understand until his time in Suna. The former Leaf Sennin had been born as a Hybrid. A Hybrid of what? He was part human, part Ancient. Ancients were primordial beings from the Wind Country. Immortal creatures made of a specific element and limitless power. Somehow, the Silvery Haired Ninja was born with a connection to them, that strengethened along the years until he was, potentially, the strongest natural born Hybrid ever to exist. As an ancestor of the Deep Court Leader, Kazuki eventually created his own court. And it was because of his unnatural state that he survived the conflict. He had little memory of the events of that time and how he returned to Sunagakure. He had no idea of how much time had passed since his return and his recovery, because it took him a long time to recover. The sky was different, the buildings were different. The very air tasted different. His senses couldn't connect the dots so he resorted to seek the highest tower in Sunagakure that was, when he was active, the home of the Kazekage.

As a Sennin of Sunagakure, or most likely, a former Sennin, Kazuki had a special connection and work relationship with the leader of tthe Hidden Sand Village, but he was about to realize many things were different. Perhaps he would find familiar faces again, but only time would tell. He entered the building and immediately the lights began to flicker and the air temperature began to drop. Ambient shadows became more pronounced and livelier, flickering as if they were flames in a candle. "Where is the Kazekage? Tell him Senju Kazuki is back." The Senju Overlord would tell to the first person that crossed his path.

PRIMUS TOWER - THE KAZEKAGE'S OFFICE
Late Afternoon - Following a Genin Briefing

The reception desk on the ground floor of Primus Tower operated with the efficiency of a well-oiled machine, three shinobi manning the onyx surface, each representing one of Sunagakure's branches. Today it was Tanaka of the Main Branch, Hideki of ANBU (in civilian dress), and Nurse Yamamoto from Medical. They handled the steady stream of morning business with practiced ease: mission assignments, document filings, requests for audience with various officials.

Then the temperature dropped.

"What in Mother Suna's name—" Tanaka muttered, watching his breath mist in the suddenly frigid air. The lights began to flicker overhead, casting the reception area in strobing shadows that seemed to move with unnatural life.

"Defensive positions," Hideki said quietly, his hand moving toward the kunai hidden in his jacket. Years of ANBU training made the movement instinctive.

"Wait," Nurse Yamamoto raised a hand, her medical training allowing her to sense something the others missed. "This chakra signature... it's not hostile. It's just... immense."

The figure that entered seemed to pull the shadows with him like a living cloak. Silver hair, an aura that made the ambient darkness writhe and dance, and an presence that spoke of power that transcended the merely human. When he spoke, his words carried the weight of someone accustomed to authority.

"Where is the Kazekage? Tell him Senju Kazuki is back."

The three reception shinobi exchanged glances. Tanaka cleared his throat, stepping forward despite the primal instinct that screamed at him to maintain distance from this man.

"Senju Kazuki-sama," he said, bowing respectfully. "Welcome back to Sunagakure. Much has... changed since your absence. The Kazekage is currently in his office on the top floor, but he shoukd be finishing a mission briefing with a genin squad. I'll send word immediately that you've returned."

"Should we escort him up?"
Hideki asked quietly, though his tone suggested he wasn't entirely sure three chunin could 'escort' this particular individual anywhere he didn't want to go.

"No need," Tanaka said, making a quick hand sign. A small orb of condensed air formed at his fingertip, a communication technique. He whispered into it: "Lord Kazekage, Senju Kazuki has returned. He's requesting immediate audience."

The orb zipped away, darting up through the tower's central shaft toward the top floor.

KAZEKAGE'S OFFICE - MOMENTS LATER

The genin had departed perhaps five minutes ago, Ryuni with his characteristic Yamashiro intensity, Tsumugu with thoughtful Renmei composure, and Rika with the determined edge of someone who had fought for every opportunity she'd ever received. Shin had watched them leave from his office window, three young lives now carrying the weight of a B-rank mission that could easily become their last.

He'd returned to his desk, forcing himself through the mechanical motions of documentation. Mission parameters recorded. Contingency protocols established. Emergency extraction procedures filed with ANBU. All the bureaucratic armor that couldn't actually protect them when blades started swinging and jutsu started flying.

The tea had gone cold. The refreshments sat mostly untouched—the genin had been too nervous to eat much, despite his efforts to put them at ease. Shin began clearing the low table with practiced efficiency, a meditative task that kept his hands busy while his mind processed what he'd just done.

Sent children to war.

The thought sat in his chest like a stone, heavy and unmoving. He'd justified it a dozen ways, but the village needed intelligence, they were the best option fforthis type of infiltration, they deserved the chance to prove themselves, war didn't wait for anyone to be ready. All true. All insufficient.

He was reaching for the second teacup when Tanaka's communication orb materialized beside his desk, the chunin's voice carrying that particular tone of controlled urgency that meant something significant had just walked through the Tower's doors.

"Lord Kazekage, Senju Kazuki has returned. He's requesting immediate audience."

Shin's hand froze mid-reach.

Senju Kazuki.

The name struck him like a bell, resonating through memories both recent and distant. His former sensei. The man who had taught him to see beyond bloodline advantages, to understand the fundamental architecture of genetic power. The Senju Overlord whose classes had changed the trajectory of Shin's entire life, steering him from puppet-making toward the medical innovations that now defined his career.

Also—and this detail crystallized with uncomfortable clarity—the man Shin had last seen in the company of Michi, that unsettling Ancient who had come seeking artificial souls. The encounter that had revealed Kazuki's true nature as a soul-consuming hybrid, his engagement to a creature of primordial power, and his apparent memory loss regarding their shared history.

That meeting had been... complicated. Enlightening. Disturbing. It had ended with Shin offering to produce artificial souls for Kazuki's consumption, a transaction that had never been completed due to the subsequent chaos of village events.

And now Kazuki was here. Alone, apparently. Seeking the Kazekage specifically.

"Send him up," Shin said into the dissipating orb, his voice steady despite the sudden recalibration happening in his mind. "Top floor, my office. And Tanaka... ensure we're not disturbed unless it's an emergency."

He straightened, running a hand through his golden hair as he considered the situation. The refreshments were still serviceable. The tea could be reheated with a snap of his fingers. But receiving Kazuki required different preparation than briefing genin or conducting routine administrative business.

This was a man who had once been a Sennin of Sunagakure. A legendary figure whose name appeared throughout the village's historical records like a ghost—powerful, enigmatic, and apparently unkillable despite facing threats that would have ended lesser shinobi a dozen times over. Someone who had taught Shin, influenced his path, and then vanished for years before returning... diminished. Changed. His memories scattered like ash in the wind.

Shin moved to stand near the window, hands clasped behind his back, positioning himself so that when Kazuki entered, the artificial sunlight would frame him without blinding. A small psychological detail, but one that established presence without aggression. He activated his chakra sense, feeling the building's occupants like candle flames in the darkness.

There—a signature unlike any other. Cold. Vast. Ancient in its fundamental wrongness against the normal warmth of human chakra. Moving up through the tower with purposeful strides, each footfall leaving a wake of dropped temperature and restless shadows.

The last time they'd met, Shin had been the Medical Chief offering services to a former mentor. Now he wore the Kazekage's authority, and the power dynamic had shifted in ways both obvious and subtle. How would Kazuki perceive that change? Would he even remember their previous relationship beyond what the photograph in Shin's office had revealed?

"Where water flows, life endures," Shin murmured to himself, centering his mind with the Renmei motto. "And where shadows gather... old debts resurface."

The door to his office stood open, welcoming. Shin could feel the temperature beginning to drop even before Kazuki reached the top floor. The plants in his office—the Yurei Orchids, the succulents, the ancient bonsai—all seemed to lean slightly away from the approaching presence, as if recognizing something fundamentally opposed to their nature.

Shin with a flick of his wrist, Shin would snap his fingers summoning a small controlled flame beneath each kettle. Fresh tea. A gesture of hospitality that transcended their changed circumstances.

`brings a ghost back to the living?` Shin wondered. `what will he think of finding his former student wearing the Kazekage's authority?`

The shadows in the hallway outside grew darker, more pronounced. The temperature dropped another degree. The lights flickered once, twice, responding to the presence of something that existed in the spaces between life and death.

Senju Kazuki was coming.

And Shin, the Phoenix Sage who had learned to see beyond bloodlines and create life from chakra alone, waited to discover whether this meeting would be a reunion or a reckoning.

As customary, Kazuki's presence didn't go unnoticed. After speaking to no one in particular, as he entered the Tower, the Silvery Haired Man spotted three individuals behind the reception desk. Two males and a female. The one in the middle, seemed to be on edge, which was appropriate, considering he was in front of a man that came out from the very legends of Sunagakure. "Senju Kazuki-sama," the male on the left said as he bowed respectfully. "Welcome back to Sunagakure. Much has... changed since your absence. The Kazekage is currently in his office on the top floor, but he should be finishing a mission briefing with a genin squad. I'll send word immediately that you've returned." Which prompted a silent nod from Reaper. "Should we escort him up?" the edgy one would ask. The White Wolf would turn his silent gaze toward him. Few people could withstand such silent examination from him, only those with nerves of adamantium had any chance. What kind of material was this shinobi made up with? Regardless, the first one would answer and after conjuring a blob of light, he sent a message toward the Kazekage's office. Moments later, a response came back using the same technique that was used before. There was a slight inquisitive look upon the Senju Overlord's face as he analyzed this unfamiliar jutsu. A question to be resolved at another time.

"You may escort me now." Kazuki basically growled the order, just for the sake of seeing how the nervous one would react to his words. Myths seemed to be return to broad daylight, they were all better be prepared to withstand their presence and react accordingly. Despite the menacing aura and unnatural presence, the former Sunan Sennin was a protector of Sunagakure, firmly on their side against all those that wanted to destroy his home. No one in this building had anything to afraid, unless they were traitors. Then death was all that awaited them. There was a reason his call sign was Reaper and it wasn't just related to his soul consumption.

Assuming he had been escorted up the tower, the White Wolf would remain silent as he ascended to the Kage's office, unless directly questioned about something. He was deep in thoughts, though still aware of where he was and what was happening around him. He wondered who the Kazekage was, though the voice that he had heard was familiar to his mind. He had heard that voice before, but he wasn't exactly sure of it belonged to just yet. If he were to be led to the office's door, he would knock once and wait to be invited in.

Hideki straightened involuntarily at the words. The ANBU operative had faced death before, but this felt different.

"Of course, Senju-sama. This way, please."

The three shinobi moved with practiced coordination, flanking the legendary figure as they ascended through Primus Tower. The temperature dropped with each floor, frost forming at window edges by the time they reached the top. The shadows along the walls seemed drawn to him, reaching like living things.

"The Kazekage's office is just ahead. He's expecting you."

The shinobi bowed and retreated. Whatever was about to happen was far above their pay grade.

INSIDE THE KAZEKAGE'S OFFICE

The knock came exactly when expected, single, deliberate, formal.

"Enter."

Senju Kazuki stepped through, and Shin felt the immediate impact. The temperature plummeted. His carefully maintained plants recoiled. The shadows deepened. For just a moment, his Oracle sight flickered unbidden, showing him the truth—something vast and ancient barely contained within human form.

He forced the sight closed.

"Kazuki-sensei," Shin said, bowing slightly. The honorific came automatically despite his current rank. "Welcome."

He gestured toward the seating area, then moved to the refreshment table. His hands—normally steady through any surgery—felt awkward reaching for the tea kettle.

"Would you like tea? Or..." He paused, kettle in hand. Tea. For someone who consumed souls. "We discussed your dietary needs last time. I haven't completed the artificial soul synthesis, but if you require sustenance, I could—"

How does one offer a soul? This is absurd.

His mind flickered through their last meeting. Michi the Ancient. The revelation of Kazuki's hybrid nature. The casual discussion of soul consumption as if discussing medical supplies.

And beneath it all, his Oracle knowledge of what the Ancients had done. What they'd nearly destroyed. The Sunahoshi sealing them beneath the sands for good reason.

Shin's hand moved unconsciously to his chest where the Phoenix Mantle rested. Life-giving power. Creation. Everything opposite to the cold consumption he sensed in Kazuki. Had his sensei been there during those ancient times? The hybrid nature suggested otherwise, but the connection remained undeniable.

"Please, sit." Shin gestured to the cushions, composing himself. "You were my teacher. You're a legendary Sennin of this village. And you've returned after much has changed."

He met Kazuki's gaze directly, allowing golden flames to flicker in his eyes—acknowledgment, not challenge. Life meeting death. Creation meeting consumption.

"The last time we met, your memories were fragmented. You asked about our shared history. Do you remember more now? Do you remember why you've returned?"

The question carried unspoken weight. Do you remember what you are? What your kind did?

But he didn't voice those thoughts. The Chikamatsu clan motto echoed in his mind: "The life of service is more noble than royalty." Service meant protecting the village, even from uncomfortable truths. It meant offering hospitality despite uncertainty.

The tea kettle sat forgotten between them, steam rising into the unnaturally cold air. Outside, Sunagakure's artificial sun continued its circuit, light seeming dimmer in Kazuki's presence.

"What brings you to the Primus Tower today, Kazuki-sensei? How may Sunagakure serve one of its greatest defenders?"

The formality established the framework, Kazekage to previous Sennin, leader to leader, despite the vast gulf between them.

Shin waited, hands steady, while shadows writhed and cold deepened. Two men wearing human faces that barely concealed the cosmic forces beneath. One who consumed souls, one who created life.

And between them, questions that neither was quite ready to ask.

"Kazuki-sensei," Kazuki would hear upon entering the office of the Kazekage. There had been a long time since someone called him with such honorifics, only were a few were still alive since he taught at the Academy of Sunagakure and one of them was seating behind the desk of the Kage of Suna. "I know this voice from my past." the Silvery Haired Man would mutter as he raised his gaze to see Chikamatsu Shin, his old student, now at the top of the chain of command of his Hidden Village. "I see that you have grown tremendously since the old days. I am proud of your accomplishments. It is the testament that, despite my many flaws and inadequacies, I was good enough of a teacher. At least with you!" Reaper with state, with a hint of pride in his voice. He didn't fail to notice that Shin was gesturing for him to take a seat, so the White Wolf approached the cushions but before he could sat one, Shin offered him tea, before addressing his soul consumption needs. "You mean something like this?" The Senju Overlord would show him a smirk as he raised his right hand and a small glowing orb emerged. The howl of damned souls could be faintly heard coming from the orb until Kazuki reabsorbed it. "Tea will be enough, thank you." he would say before finally taking a seat. "Any kind that you might currently have brewing. I am not picky about it!" he would quickly add. As observant as he was, Reaper noticed how Shin's absently grabbed his chest. "Do you need medical assistance? Your chest seems to be in pain." There was a tone of genuine concern on the White Wolf's voice. One that was rarely heard and only reserved for those that the Senju Overlord considered close or had some special affection for. The now Kazekage was on the latter case.

"The last time we met, your memories were fragmented. You asked about our shared history. Do you remember more now? Do you remember why you've returned?" the former Medical Chief would question, prompting the surfacing of a memory of when Kazuki last met Shin. He faintly remembered the event and, truth be told, his memory was still fragmented. "I remember meeting you and having someone at my side. My future wife, but that is all I remember. I still have no solid memories of the times between the fight with the Daimyo and our posterior meeting. Nor I have much memories of what happened after the meeting till I awoken from a deep slumber, rather recently." It was an honest assessment from his part. Kazuki was opening himself up to someone he hoped he could trust, because there was nothing more dangerous than revealing such issues to others when your life is always at risk. "I was hoping the Kazekage could help me tie the dots and fill me in. Perhaps there are still ways for an ancient like myself to be of use."

The sight of the glowing orb—the faint howls of damned souls emanating from its surface—sent an involuntary shiver through Shin's body. Every instinct as a medical shinobi screamed that what he was witnessing violated the natural order of life and death. He forced himself to remain composed, to treat this as he would any other unusual chakra manifestation, even as unease settled in his chest.

"Tea it is," Shin managed, his voice steady despite the discomfort. He moved to pour, grateful for the habitual task that gave him a moment to center himself.

When Kazuki asked about his chest, Shin's hand stilled on the teapot. The concern in his former sensei's voice was genuine, a reminder that beneath the Ancient hybrid and soul-consuming entity sat the man who had once taught him, guided him, shaped his understanding of genetics and power.

"I appreciate your concern, Kazuki-sensei, but it's... manageable."

He set down the teapot and reached up, adjusting his collar to expose his neck and collarbone. The gilded kintsugi-like cracks shimmered across his exposed flesh, golden lines tracing patterns like broken pottery repaired with precious metal. They pulsed faintly with each heartbeat, more pronounced now in his exhaustion.

"Chakra burns," Shin explained quietly. "I pushed beyond my limits defending the village recently. Multiple high-level techniques in rapid succession, channeling power that exceeded what my body could safely process. The Phoenix Mantle allows me to create life, to heal, to regenerate—but there are costs."

He pulled his collar back into place, the cracks disappearing beneath fabric.

"I've attempted self-healing. I've visited the Omni Prime Medical Facility. Nothing has successfully reversed the condition. The more exhausted I become, the more pronounced they grow. A reminder that even those who can create life are still bound by mortal limitations."

Shin returned to the tea, pouring two cups with practiced precision. He brought one to Kazuki, then settled into his own cushion with the second.

"Your memory remains fragmented, then," he said, not unkindly. "Yea, you met me before with Michi—your future wife, as you say. An Ancient of considerable power. You had lost many memories of your time in Sunagakure, including our teacher-student relationship. I showed you photographs from my academy days. You seemed... troubled by what you couldn't remember."

He sipped his tea, organizing his thoughts.

"The fight with the Daimyo was years ago now. You disappeared afterward. When you returned with Michi, you were different. Changed. And now you've emerged from another slumber to find the world shifted again."

Shin set down his cup, meeting Kazuki's gaze directly.

"Much has changed indeed, sensei. You were a Sennin under the previous Kazekages. You served as an ANBU Captain. You were one of the pillars upon which Sunagakure's strength rested."

He paused, considering how to explain the current situation.

"In your absence, others have stepped forward to fill those roles. The Main Branch is led by Lord Toraono Kuro—he remains our steadfast pillar, of course. The Medical Branch is now under the leadership of Byakko Kyuji, my former master and the victor of the World Martial Arts Tournament. Our ANBU operations are coordinated by Captain Uziuke, who returned recently as well. And Lady Uzumoreru Chiyoko serves as our Sennin of Homeland Security."

Shin's expression grew more serious.

"We've endured assaults from Steward Chikamatsu Wei—who was sponsored by external forces—and now we face the threat of the Baron Twins. The village has been tested repeatedly. The airship project we once pursued has been suspended. We've returned to underground travel for security."

He leaned forward slightly, his tone shifting to something more grave.

"But your return is... fortuitous, Kazuki-sensei. Your expertise, your unique capabilities, they are exactly what Sunagakure needs right now. You ask if there are ways for an ancient like yourself to be of use?"

Shin's eyes flickered with golden fire for just a moment.

"I have a mission. One that requires someone who can hunt without making a sound. Someone who exists in the spaces between life and death. Someone whose very presence can make enemies question their reality."

He reached into his desk, pulling out a sealed mission brief.

"The Golden Sanctuary. A fortress of our enemies, stronghold of the Baron Twins who orchestrated the manipulation of Steward Wei and who threaten our village with war. I'm sending our ANBU Branch and our Sennin to infiltrate, gather intelligence, and—if the opportunity presents—eliminate the Baron Twins before this conflict claims more lives."

Shin slid the brief across the table toward Kazuki.

"The White Wolf. That's what they called you, wasn't it? The hunter who moves without sound, who strikes from shadows, who leaves no trace. I need that hunter, sensei. Not as a Sennin or ANBU Captain—those positions are filled. But as a specialist. An operative whose unique nature makes him suited for missions that would be suicide for normal shinobi."

He met Kazuki's gaze unflinchingly.

"I'm asking you to join this operation. To use your gifts—Ancient heritage, soul consumption, whatever darkness you carry—in service of Sunagakure. To help end this threat before it escalates into full-scale war."

Shin leaned back slightly, his exhaustion showing now in the faint shimmer of golden cracks beneath his collar.

"But I need to know if you're willing and able. If your fragmented memories and recent slumber have left you capable of undertaking a mission of this magnitude."

Outside, the artificial sun continued its circuit. Inside, two men who existed beyond normal human limitations sat across from each other—one who created life, one who consumed it—united by a shared purpose to protect the village they both called home.

"What do you say, Kazuki-sensei? Will the White Wolf hunt once more?"

"I appreciate your concern, Kazuki-sensei, but it's... manageable." The Kage would answer once Kazuki questioned him about his chest and how he seemed to be in pain. Chikamatsu Shin would further clarify that he had been brought to the brink of chakra exhaustion and had payed the price for it. The White Wolf would see that his former student had cracks on his skin that seemed to glow golden. Reaper would slightly tilt his head upon seeing that because it reminded him of his own condition. He would begin to spread his black robe at his chest level, as the Kage covered himself. The Silvery Haired Man was certain Shin wouldn't miss the hole the Senju Overlord had where his heart would rest. An icy hole, harboring a fiery core that had replaced Kazuki's heart, so long ago, that he no longer remembered what had happened. In fact, if the former Medical Chief payed attention, he would spot that the fiery core pulsed like a beating heart. "It seems we are more alike than it seems at first. Though, unlike you, I no longer remember how I got this." Was it a trade he had made with a demon? In exchange for what? Kazuki was really oblivious to why he was like that, but regardless, he remained with such condition and there was no such thing as a cure. "Although I know you might not need to hear this, considering your condition, but I will say it anyway. I would advise caution, if possible. You might have your well being under control, at the moment, but things can escalate quickly and, if they do, you might loose yourself in whatever is keeping you alive. Trust me, I would know better than most." It was, perhaps, words of caution that were not needed, but as his former teacher, the Senju Overlord felt compelled to say them anyway.

With that said, Reaper remained silent as Chikamatsu Shin told him what had asked for. That the Daimyo had fallen years ago, that Kazuki had disappeared only to resurface with Michi and then vanish once more. Sunagakure that had been made safe by the sacrifice of many, was now under threat once more. There seemed to be no such thing as peace in the world of Shinobi. There was always threats looming on the horizon. The leadership of the village had changed as well, although Kuro was still a mainstay, as it was correct. The White Wolf would slightly lean forward as Shin talked about the current threat to Sand., his hands grasping the sides of his chair until his knuckles became white with strain. And it was then that the Kage began explaining that he had a mission that was perfectly suited to the Senju Overlord's skillset, if was willing and capable of accepting it. He would lean backward again and would actually smirk a bit. Liquid shadows would begin to pour from his eyes, his hears, his nose. Like an open hose left unchecked, the shadows kept growing, enveloping the room, but not actually touching the Kage. The air itself seemed to be vibrating from the sheer pressure that Kazuki's power being set loose created. "If there is one thing that I am always ready and capable of, is to rain righteous vengeance upon the enemies of Sunagakure. War with no quarter until they are all dead or I cease to be. If the White Wolf is needed once more, then there is only one proper course of action to be taken. Reaper will hunt the lands once more and death will follow in my wake like in the days of old."

The shadows and pressure would slowly diminish until light returned to the Kage's office and all that remained was the kage himself and a somewhat normal looking Senju Overlord. "As a Gloaming Court Hybrid, and possibly their leader, I do not actually know if that remains true, you know I cannot speak falsehoods, I can only speak the truth. And as Kage, you deserve to know what kind of people you are leading. I was once your teacher, but you are now my leader, ergo, I will tell you my life's tale, at least what I remember clearly. I believe a leader needs all the knowledge possible to be effective and that includes knowing all the details of his personnel." Kazuki's eyes would fixate themselves upon Shin's and would remain there as he shared his tale. "This might no longer be remembered in Sunagakure, but I was not born in this village, nor in this country. I was born, long ago, in Konohagakure, heir to the Senju Clan. Before my nature as a Ancient Hybrid revealed itself, I was already consuming souls. My powers grew and so did my rank within Konoha. I was Leaf's last ANBU Sennin before my home village was destroyed and we were forced to evacuate it and became refugees. Eventually, we stroke a deal with Iwagakure and merged with them. But my time in the Earth Country was short lived and I kept roaming until I reached the deserts of the Wind Country and our beloved village itself. I was received with open arms by the Steward Takahashi Sousuke and by Toraono Kuro and, after bringing over whoever had remained of my clan, we settled here for good. Just like in Konoha, my rank in Suna grew, till I became an ANBU Captain and Sennin." There was much more to tell, but the Senju Overlord was giving Shin the short version. "I am actually, despite being from a different country, the progeny of Mikaboshi, lord of the Deep Court and former ANBU leader of Sunagakure. I am, like you have told me and have pictures to prove it, your former teacher. Before I march to war on the enemies of Sunagakure, I question you this." Kazuki paused on purpose. "Can and do you trust me Chikamatsu Shin?"

"There is only way one this will work for us. The former leadership trusted me, despite my nature and despite my birth place. Toraono Kuro still trusts me and we are, in fact, brothers in arms. So, I repeat, do you trust me?"
