And the don't stop coming.. [Entering country w/ Reicheru and Danni]

As they stepped off the boat, entering into Lightning country, Maikeru gave a long stretch of his arms. It had been a long ride, exceedingly so when he kept thinking about how short the trip would have been had they just taken the train. But, it was what Reicheru and Danni wanted, so he had given in and conceded this particular defeat. Walking towards town with his two friends, he stopped a nearby falconry to send two letters ahead of them.

The first was to his cousin, Ryuichi.

"Dear Ryuichi,

You probably don't know who I am outside of name, but, I am your cousin Uchiha Maikeru. Though we've never met, my family has received the pictures your mother sent, and I've been trying to make a trip to visit. As a fellow shinobi I am sure you can understand the troubles of trying to find time for cross country travel. Regardless, I will be in Cloud soon with some travelling compatriots and would like a chance to meet you.

Looking forward to our meeting,
Maikeru"

The second one, more somber, was addressed to Maru.

"Sensei,

Reicheru, Danni, and I will be in cloud soon and we need to talk. I have some.. news. I meant to send a letter sooner, but, sending a letter to someone who was banished from the village through the leaf mail seemed.. like a bad idea. Anyway, we'll be here at the date I'll enclose. Please try to meet us at the gates.

It really didn't take long for Maru to actually get the letter, he was excited because he believed it was probably from a secret admirer. The mystery of who sent him the letter was starting to give him the butterfly's, hoping that it was a beautiful woman who lived around here and hoped it wasn't some weird kid or critter or loli trying to get with the famous princess of heart. He hoped that it was that beautiful blue haired lady he met back at the gates, or that hawt gun girl Nozomi, maybe that good looking white haired chick he saw on that interrogation mission. The octopus haired girl he would consider but that hair though.. Opening the letter, he brought the letter to his face which read:

Sensei,

Reicheru, Danni, and I will be in cloud soon and we need to talk. I have some.. news. I meant to send a letter sooner, but, sending a letter to someone who was banished from the village through the leaf mail seemed.. like a bad idea. Anyway, we'll be here at the date I'll enclose. Please try to meet us at the gates.

Well not a cute girl like he wanted it, but looks like clothes team is making there way to cloud. This is perfect, that means Mastermind and his guys are probably on the way too. He already met one of the guys who was on the escape team on the outer village area, perhaps the whole band of academy students are on their way to cloud. But the ‘news’ part was the one that interested the rogue, he eyed the word news again then narrowed his eyes. He didn't actually say if he had any good news or bad news so maybe he was going to tell him he made Jounin or something. Just one of his student have to make it to jounin at least. Maru nodded, crumbling up the paper into a ball before stuffing it in his mouth then began chewing the letter, then swallow the letter down before making a disgusted face from the aftertaste of the ink.

“Yuck. So you'll be at the gates hm? I'll be there. Fwoosh!” Maru with a dramatic tug on his cape disappeared, heading towards the gates to meet his student….

"Are you sure you won't travel with us?" Reicheru had asked the small family she had befriended. No, they insisted, they had to make a few stops to get some personal items in order. So as they disembarked from this piece of their adventure and moved on toward the next, Reicheru ruffled the young boy's hair and gave his parents a wave. "I hope to see you soon. Maybe even at the academy!"

Though the chill of the sea had helped prepare Reicheru for the climate she would face in Lightning Country, this part of the journey still often saw the young kunoichi wrapped as tightly as she could be in her scarf and cloak. She knew better than to buy the heavy coat she had saved up for from the first town they stopped in, but she did it anyway. The few extra yen out of her pocket was worth the comfort it brought.

Yes, it would take some time for her to adjust to this weather. Now she only prayed she would be given the opportunity as the trio moved ever steadily toward the gates.

Danii hops off the boat and gives one last longing look at the ocean and turns towards the village with a big grin on her face. She had high hopes for this new land. She speaks up to her friends.

“I know I talked about travelling with the swordsmen when we first formed, but it's weird that I'm actually getting to do it. Feels almost like a dream.”

While at the falconry, Danii paid to send a letter to her grandfather.

Gramps,

We've made it to Lightning. We travelled by boat and I got to see the sea. It was beautiful. Will write again soon. I miss you and especially your cooking. Maikeru still has alot to learn in that aspect, I'm beginning to grow sick of ramen.

Danii doodled a little image under the signature and sealed the letter in an envelope. After sending it off, she turned back to the group.

“Alright, I'm ready. Next stop Cloud?”

And off they go.
