Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

"When I said he could have a drink I meant water! He is anemic! More alcohol will only make him sicker. Now do you have anything of nutritional value on this ship or not? He needs iron." Osu was busy lecturing the captain over his crew's health.

"Calm down little lass, I understand ye be a doctor but we always..." he trailed off as Osu began tapping his foot and stared the captain down. I mean ta say is... No... We don't. We make short trips across the way so we don't really keep much food."

"But you keep much drink was it?" Osu asked a bit annoyed. A few of the crew started laughing and making smart ass comments until Osu shot the gaze at them and they all found some task that needed to be taken care of immediately, like checking the rain barrels or checking on Tama to make sure she didn't break her neck while treating the ship like a jungle gym/stage. Osu sighed and walked back over to thee anemic sailor resting in the shade and bit his thumb to draw blood. Unlike this sailor Osu had plenty of blood, in fact his body was capable of producing more blood in a day than every other body else on the ship combined and was a prime conduit for chakra. As a few chakra filled droplets fell into the sailor's mouth Osu began to walk away much to the captain's confusion. twenty seconds or so later... "By Raiden's Brush!" exclaimed the man who had been low on blood as he shot up to his feet. The swear confused Osu and scandalized several of the other sailors. "My veins be set aflame brighter than whiskey or women have ever done managed!"

He veins actually were boiling a little but Osu didn't want to freak the man out by confirming such. Osu preferred fixing illnesses and injuries without chakra techniques because... well to say the least the man would be in for a world of pain if he didn't eat a lot more than he usually did before his sped up production of blood wore off. Chakra techniques work largely by tricking/ forcing the body beyond what it was normally capable of, which in the long run wasn't healthy at all, but was extremely useful, for say, in battle treatment. What Osu did not expect was for the entire crew to misunderstand Osu's blood as some magic fire water. He also didn't expect the crew to be so quick to break out into song, "Oh a Drop of Osu's Blood Wouldn't Do Us Any Harm"

It became the oddest sort of call and response between the crew claiming something wouldn't harm them at all such as "a little bit of gin" or "to fight a sea serpent" or even "to pinch miss Tama's rump" with Osu trying to shout over them saying that it could indeed harm them. It turned into a game of sorts and at some points he thought he heard Tama be the one to suggest the next verse. That lasted for some time before Osu threw his hands up into the air and gave up on the verse of "a kiss with a shark" and retreated to the crow's nest.

After a while up there Osu noticed something odd far in the distance. HE called down from the nest, "Hey Tama! Is it normal for a ship to have black sails?" Weird how everyone on the ship stopped what they were doing at that point.

While Osu was busy trying to improve the general health of the salty dogs aboard the merchant vessel, Tama was hanging upside down from the crow's nest, laughing while ignoring the half-hearted protests of the crew members trying to convince her it was dangerous. In fact telling the woman that it was hazardous to her health was in fact having the opposite effect.

"Oi lass! 'Tis mighty risky t' be monkeyin' round like that."

"Hahaha! I live for danger! Nothing beats this thrill matey! ARRRRRR!!!!! Hahahahaha!"

"Lass I be warnin' ya, we don't want no trouble with his royal land-lubberness, if 'n ya get injured it's us that'll be keelhauled over it."

"Hahahahaha! Shiri-tan is so cute when he's protective! But don't worry I'll never been fatally wounded while playing around. Only three serious injuries too, so it's fine!" The sudden shout from the deck interrupted the lookout's further attempts to convince the Mochizuki that things would be bad for the crew if she was injured on their ship, whether or not it was her fault or theirs.

When the crew started to break out into song, Tama jumped down to the deck to join in. Her verse contributions included, 'A dance in a fire,' 'Sittin' 'n Kicchan's chair,' and 'Punchin' holes 'n temple walls.' She even consented to dance jigs with the seamen, but all that changed when the announcement from Osu, who had taken her spot in the crow's nest, came. Immediately, the jovial nature was replaced with a flurry of onboard activity.

"Hoist the mainsail! Before we get in range of the long-nines!" "Cap'n we've hit a calm! There's no wind!"

"What you need a little breeze?" Tama asked one of the crew, who nodded confusedly. "Well then, let's full speed ahead!" She ran through a set of handseals and immediately a steady gale began to fill the ship's sails. At first the crew cheered, but then realized that the wind was pushing them towards the other ship and then started spouting very colorful words at Tama indeed, "Ahahahahahaha! Osu! Black sails generally mean one of two things. Either an idiot prince forgot to change them to white after returning from a dangerous quest, thus driving his old man to commit suicide from despair, or pirates. If it's the former, we slap the prince silly and change his sails, if it's the latter, hehehehe, well," she paused to take a deep breath, "we will find out who truly is better, ninjas or pirates!"

The Gruesome End VIII soon reached cannon range, and Tama was too busy maintaining their speed to deflect any of the ordinance launched their way. "Osu! Can you take care of that pleasekaythanks!"

Goodness everyone was really excited all of a sudden, getting the sail and everything in place to move. They hadn't been this motivated to work the entire voyage. What was going on? Of course Tomo's initial answer in reference to the mythologies of an alternate plane of existence didn't do anything to alleviate Osu's confusion. Pirates on the other hand... that he understood. He also understood that they were now heading directly for the pirate ship. Well he wanted to be paired up with someone willing to run headfirst into danger...

Tama's 'warning' if it could be called such, came as the first volley was fired and Osu was looking down at her over the side of the crow's nest. The stray round shot that almost brushed Osu's nose was a better alert of the danger that was suddenly upon them. Though for a brief moment he had to work to keep his bladder in check. Before the second round could be fired Osu had descended down to the bowsprit and began forming hand seals. An energy barrier formed in front of Osu as the Gruesome End VIII charged straight for the pirate ship, with the next volley of cannon balls crashing thunderously against it.

War wasn't about being able to withstand the enemy though, it was about destroying the enemy's capacity to ever rise up from the ashes again. That thought was actually from another voice in his mind but Osu agreed with the principle of Uso's idea. A stream of blood poured from Osu's skin to begin forming a large orb outside the energy wall finding the gun deck and guiding the plasma bomb to the cannon window. The resulting explosion assured Osu that at least one cannon was down as the wall was broken and he recreated it. He did this several times as they flew forward on the wind Tama produced, with the crew all up on deck cheering and shouting right nasty sailor talk at the black sailed brigades.

As he searched for the next cannon to take out Osu realized that they were getting awfully close to the other ship who had ceased moving as a result of Tama's wind... "Tama?! Why aren't we slowing down!?" At this line of questioning the cheers were beginning to return to panic and then into begging as a group of them were up at the wheel trying their best to steer the ship to safety but it might have been too late as Osu, who was still standing on the bowsprit, was already looking down on the deck of the pirate ship.

"Brace yourselves!" the captain shouted all too late as the ships collided and Osu was thrown onto the enemy deck, his shield having done absolutely nothing to cushion the event. Most members of both crews had lost their footing and were sprawled out everywhere, with some having fallen overboard, and were in a struggle to be the first to recover and attack. What a mess this was becoming... Like a real adventure!
Lame late post is lame but done lol.

Tama was waiting for the ships to collide. She used the momentum to fling herself in the direction of the pirate ship. ON the short trip though the air she passed over Osuteno, who was on a similar journey through the skies. Now a sane, normal, responsible adult would have taken this opportunity to grab the smaller shinobi, to minimize the risk of the young one coming to harm. However, Tama was none of those things. She merely ruffled the child's hair as she went past, for two reasons. First, Osu's hair looked very fluffy. And secondly, Tama wanted to share Osu's blood bending for a moment, it looked fun and she wanted to give it a try.

"How does this work, actually?" she muttered to herself, "Oh well, shouting sometimes works. Blood Arts, Mochiuki redux! Blood Propulsion!" Jets of red liquid erupted from the woman's hands and feet, increasing her speed and coating a portion of the pirate vessel with her blood. Of course, having just borrowed the ability to manipulate blood from Osuteno, Tama was unable to control how much she emanated. As such she was also unable to control her speed, landing, and descent. She hit the deck with a large crash, scattering crates and barrels, and showering the area around her landing with drops of blood and sprinkles of splinters. A few seconds later, the Mochizuki staggered to her feet with a ridiculous smile on her face given the situation. "What a rush! Feelin' a tad lightheaded at the moment, though. Not sure why but that was fun." The girl plopped back onto the deck. She spied Osu near the other end of the ship and belatedly remembered that whole responsibility thing. "Osu-pyon!" she called out cheerily, "I'll be over there in a second, just gotta rest a bit. So don't die yet, 'kay? Also, I could totally go for a drop of your blood now, feeling really dehydrated for some reason. Oooh! Oranges!"

The crates and barrels that the chuunin had busted open upon her landing just happened to be filled with tasty, scurvy-preventing citrus fruit. Tama immediately began chowing down on a few of them, when a net was suddenly tossed over her. "Now gentlepiratescum, I'll be more than happy to oblige you into that whole fight to their death thing, if you'll just let me recuperate here."

"Right missy. O' course we'll wait for ye ta get yer sea-legs. What kind of gentlemen o' fortune would we be if'n we didn' act all gentlemanly-like. We even gave ya a nice blankie ta keep ya warm while we show yer lady friend ta same kindness, ain't tat right lads?" One pirate with a hook for a hand, a showy red coat, and ridiculously large red hat said. The crew laughed evilly, many har-hars were heard all around. "Now tie 'er up, and then throw 'em in ta brig! Cap'n's orders! Careful of them magicks, this one's one o' them ninjers. So the runt must be a prissy noble girlie or sumtin', tryin' to be a warrior, har har har! What a catch today boys!"

It would be up to Osu to fend for himself until Tama could get out of her double predicament, anemia and being tangled in a net.

As he was regaining his sense of up and down, Osu happened to become very much aware of a lot of blood pouring by the bucket, filling his head with the roar of a mighty waterfall as he instinctively sought the source. The "Noise" was drowning not only his comprehension of the events around him but that of Uso's too. What both of them were solely aware of was the sound of blood hitting against the ship deck and the crew and splashing into the water below. He could hear the Noise as blood ran down the flesh. He needed to calm himself down. Focus on the fact he was alone and surrounded in enemy territory. A net had been thrown over him and a few of the pirates were up close taunting him asking why a little girl was off playing sailor and warrior. One carelessly nicked Osu's chin a bit as he brought his sword up to try and scare the little girl.

That had been a rather unfortunate move.

The net was suddenly shredded and the closest pirates knocked back by the wings of blood that sprang from Osu's back, though they appeared different, as instead of feathers the wins appeared scaly. Blood was pouring down Osu's face like a stream of tears as he looked around him. Then Osu began doing something he almost never did, he began using hand seals.

Inside the brain library that Uso called her home, she was having a rather rough reaction to the Noise. "He always tries to resist the pull of the Noise. Does he not know how much that kills my head?" Uso usually fell in line with the draw of the Noise, the sheer ecstasy it brought for making others bleed. Especially in situations like this as the enemy were pirates who by definition were criminals who had dared to act against them. If any other authority caught them they would be hung and as aristocracy she had both a right and a duty to bring order. The idiot and her had argued for many hours on the subject and neither wished to bend towards the other's beliefs in the slightest. However this bout came rather suddenly and there were regular merchants very nearby so she had been trying to keep a somewhat level head herself as to make the distinction. Osu was not handling himself well at all though, and something felt very wrong too.

"Osuteno, you idiotic tumor what are you doing!? The merchants are too close! What are those hand seals you are using? She began calling out at him. "Are you already lost in it? You damned fool this is exactly why you should not have forced control over to me every other time this happened, you don't have any resistance built up. Hand control over to me before you kill someone you shouldn't!" None of it was getting through though.

Back outside the pirates that had surrounded Osu had their attentions split between the child with wings sprouting out his back and the suddenly darkening sky. Then one of the pirates felt something splash on the back of his arm. It was blood. Then more drops hit the ship. Then a deluge of blood began falling from the sky, soaking everything in sight in blood. This was now his territory. But his own blood wouldn't satisfy the craving, it wouldn't reward him. "Focus you fool! But the aimed thought drifted off, it was unimportant.

The pirates were very rightly freaked out by the situation but it was about to become so much more terrifying. Osu's wings pulled back far as if he were going to attempt to fly even though they weighed far too much for that to ever be possible, but as they came down they shot upwards ripping away from his body and pulling gallon after gallon of blood upwards with them. A shinobi might realize what was occurring as a variation of the Steel Dragon technique but all these pirates could focus on was the fact a giant bloody dragon was now on their ship even though they weren't real. Some began to try and attack, but a majority of them were panicking as the creature released a mighty blast of blood slicing through a couple of them and roaring.

A couple men made an attempt to attack the child who was standing unmoved in the middle of the chaos, but were consumed when they got too close by a shiver of sanguine sharks that seemed to jump from the bloody puddles covering the ship. All in all it was a crazy twentyish seconds.

Tama happily munched on the fruit that was trapped underneath the net with her. So much did she enjoy the delectable fruits, she failed to notice the darkening sky, or the screams of the terrified pirates, or the presence of a bloody dragon onboard the vessel. Eventually the stench of blood overpowered the fruity smell of the pirates' stock of citrus. Tama looked up from where she sat stuck underneath the netting the pirates had cast around her to see Osu surrounded by the shiver of sharks, and the eerily dripping dragon. She had missed the earlier scene where Osu's bloody creations had devoured the pirates who had attacked the small shinobi, but was able to piece together the gist of what happened from the pools of blood and abandoned cutlasses lying on the deck.

"Fools! If'n ye can't stab 'er, shoot 'er!" the captain shouted, drawing two pistols and aiming them at the now fully blooded shinobi. "Eat lead, monster!" he shouted before firing. This prompted the rest of the pirates to abandon their cutlasses for firearms as well, and soon Osuteno was dealing with a hail of molten lead bearing down on his motionless figure.

"Well, this has gotten quite serious," Tama quipped. She looked over to where the Gruesome End VIII was sitting. Luckily, Osu's sudden outburst of power and bloodlust had prevented the pirates from boarding the merchant vessel. Still it didn't seem like the chibi-ninja was stopping his bloody onslaught, soon enough it might even spill over onto the unfortunate cargo ship. Tama could almost hear that Chancellor Ami lecturing her about the responsibility she had to the people of Lightning, and that she shouldn't cause Shiranai anymore problems. "Guess I gotta go be responsible now," she grumbled. Tama supposed that the disappearance and/or damaging of a Lightning Country trading vessel by Kumogakure shinobi, one of which was the unofficial 'Lord Protector' of the current shogun, would be one of those 'problems' that Amicchi was always getting on Tama's case about.

A flick of her fingers called the wind to her aid, slicing the net so she could stand. Once of the pirates tried to stop her, but a gust of wind tossed him overboard. Most of the other pirates were focused on trying to deal with Osuteno to care about the young Mochizuki, so Tama used that to her advantage. She ran through a complex set of handseals, and a giant vortex of wind began to form around the pirate ship. The wind wall completely isolated the merchant and pirate vessel, leaving the two shinobi trapped abroad with the pirates. Or rather, leaving the pirates trapped with Osu, with Tama spectating.

She turned to see the Gruesome End making a hard turn to port, using the residual winds from Tama's vortex to escape the impending carnage. Good, thought the chuunin, Now I don't have to worry about them anymore. Just making sure li'l Osu doesn't kill herself. "Alright, Osu. Give 'em hell. You're clear to go all out!" she called to the young medic. Hopefuly ,she'll tucker herself out after this. Or I'll end up having to knock her out myself. Besides, this looks like it'll be an entertaining show.

The captain heard the girl shouting and stopped firing at Osuteno to take stock of the situation. Now that two of bloody witches were loose on the ship, he was beginning to see the precarious position he and his crew were in, though his pride as a feared terror of the seas wouldn't let him back down from two women, even if they were the accursed shinobi-witches. "Keep fighting lads! We're dead men anyway, so let's take 'em down to Davy Jones with us eh?" The pirates roared with the desperation of men who knew that they weren't going to survive, and they began their renewed assault on Osu and Tama.

Uso was getting fed up with the idiot's lack of self control and was rather frustrated she wasn't capable of ripping him from the captain's helm the way he could her. Uso watched on as Osu tore through several of the pirates before they began backing off and drawing their firearms. Fucking hell. "Move! They are about to shoot at us you blood blinded fool!" Nothing was really getting through though. As the first shot were fired the bloody dragon landed in front of Osu and started exhaling bloody projectiles upon the pirates but Osu's back was left exposed as more began aiming to take him down. As a bullet entered his arm from behind more blood sprang up from a pool at his feet and created a barrier between him and further fire.

The real danger to his life though wasn't the pirates. Possibly Osu's greatest achievement for someone so young was his abilities with ninjutsu and chakra control which was on a level with shinobi half again his age and some older, however he was still young and inexperienced. In this violent rush of attacks and technique after technique he had used up more than half of his chakra reserves without sign of slowing down as more sanguine sharks rushed into men who seemed to somehow disappear into the inch deep pools of blood after the sharks burst. Men screamed beneath the explosions and one threw down his gun and made to jump off the side. Before he could make his way to the railing though an orb of the crimson liquid sprang up from underneath him and he began beating frantically on the wall to escape which only made him drown faster. All around men fell to the sharks, the dragon and plasma bombs exploding around them, violently tossing pirates but harmlessly popping against the wind wall.

Only a handful of pirates were left as they finally brought down Osu's dragon and his shield. The bloody rain had stopped falling and he stood there panting but still not quite there mentally. He was completely out of chakra but once more the pirates fired and this time a bullet grazed his side causing him to gasp, his first true reaction the near minute he spent in his frenzy. In a blinded fury he actually formed the seals for his sanguine sharks but as he was out of chakra the jutsu ripped some life from him as five more pirates sank into the bloody pools on deck.

If one had never experienced trying to perform a higher ranked technique while out of chakra, they need only to know that it involves feeling about half of the hurt it delivered and it is a terrible, terrible idea. The final shiver began with blood pouring from Osu's eyes like a stream of tears and ended with him collapsing with the pain of his own attack. His eyes blinking occasionally though no signs of thought appeared in them. His body was simply too exhausted to do anything else, even act on his impulses for self-preservation.

Despite his inexperience and his collapse, the scene offered some interesting commentary about the world they lived in. The stray attacks of the above average youth had near harmlessly broken on contact with the older and stronger shinobi's barrier. On the other hand, only a handful of the pirates were still even left on the deck, weapons and stray cloth lying in the pools here and there with the survivors injured and attempting to gather themselves despite the fact an even more powerful shinobi had yet to really raise her fist. It was scenes like this that caused people to to tell their children scary stories about shinobi to make them behave and that nations stopped relying on massive armies to protect themselves. And on the inside... Uso was waiting to chastise the hell out of Osu for very nearly killing them. Chances are they and the people on the other ship would be dead if the Mochizuki woman wasn't there.

"Great job Mr. Calm and Reason. Not only did you give in like an animal to the instinct of survival and euphoria, but you missed a few while we are completely helpless. I have to say at least you got your first kill without my help finally along with your... what thirtieth? I can completely see why people call you such a cute and good natured person now. Wonder how much you are going to cry and pity yourself after this one."

Of the many things that irritated Uso was the fact Osu deserved to feel regret but he would regret the wrong things. She knew he would cry over the criminals' deaths rather than focus on his own failure to maintain composure and clearheadedness. How was he so frustratingly weak of will yet had so much more control in this body of theirs than she? The thought gnawed at her as she saw one of the pirates leaning on another and leveling his firearm towards them.

Tama watched as Osuteno ripped through the pirates. It was viscerally brutal. He returned the pirates' fire with blood, and every wound inflicted on him seemed to provide the small medic with a new way of attacking his enemies. The chuunin was impressed by the devastating power that she had not seen the shinobi display since that incident with Titan a while back, though the lack of verbal taunts and witty banter was a slight disappointment.
Eventually budding Chigokai reached his limit, he finally became aware of the attacks that were striking him. And there were signs that his chakra reserves were completely drained, most notably the profuse bleeding from his eyes. Luckily, the boy didn't attempt to maintain any of the myriad of jutsu past his limit. The little blood princess is more of a handful than I thought, Tama mused silently as she manipulated the wind to carry her to the defense of the helpless medic. "Sorry to interrupt, gentlemen. But you'll have to make do with me for an opponent."

The pirates were startled, so focused they had been on surviving Osuteno's assault, they had forgotten that there was another, more experienced shinobi on the ship. Tama couldn't blame them. Even she had been enthralled by Osuteno's spectacular performance. The pirate that had leveled his gun at Osu pulled the trigger, hoping to take out the smaller shinobi quickly. Tama wasn't about to let that happen, though. A dome of light briefly shone around the boy, and the bullet stopped in its tracks, clattering to the deck. "Maybe you're hard of hearing, I said, your opponent is me!" Tama began radiating a terrifying aura of bloodlust, one that caused even the most seasoned of the pirates to involuntarily take a step back.

"Take 'er all together boys! We outnumber 'er ten ta' one!" Unfortunately for the captain, this was not the optimal strategy for fighting against Mochizuki Tama. A performer to the core, she excelled in battles with multiple parties, the bigger the audience, the better the performance after all. The pirates that rushed her were blasted back by a sudden burst of air from Tama, and the chuunin began her own assault. "It's razzle dazzle time!" she called as she seemed to glide towards the nearest pirate, a cutlass slashing at her. She nimbly side-stepped the blade and expertly twisted the man's weapon arm, causing him to drop the weapon. She picked the man up and threw him into another pirate trying to get a bead on Osuteno again. The two crumpled into a heap on the deck.

A dirk jabbed at her from behind, only barely missing thanks to the swirling winds tightly wrapped around Tama's body. Tama grabbed the pirate's arm and pulled her off-balance, kneeing her in the stomach as she did so. A shot rang out and Tama's dome of light flickered into existence again, blocking for Osu once again. "Raiden, damn you! Stop ignoring me!!" Tama grabbed the doubled over pirate by the ankles and swung her around, clobbering another pirate trying to cudgel from behind. She then launched her human projectile at the second gunman, knocking the two of them overboard.

Two cutlasses sliced at Tama, who slipped into her ethereal state just as they would have cut her. The blades seemed to pass right through her body with no effect (although Tama would have a splitting headache later), Tama laughed, then turned to face her attacker, staring at him for a second then yelling, "Boo!" The combination of a seemingly untouchable ghost and the pressing aura radiating off Tama broke the seaman, and he lept off the boat as fast as his legs could take him. "Come back, ya lily-livered scalawag!" The captain called fruitlessly. "Next person to do that gets shot by me!" The captain was too enraged by the humiliation being served to a notorious pirate like himself to be scared.

"Now that's no fun," the spectral Tama pouted, "Well I guess we'll just have to have an intermission here, since the star of the show needs to be awake for the final act. And it would be anti-climatic if the bad guys start killing themselves, so since you're all conveniently near the edges of the ship," Tama released the winds swirling about herself. The violent gale tore at the pirates, who were caught off guard and blown away into the water below, "you can all have a taste of the briny deep!" The captain's flamboyant hat floated down towards the chuunin, who caught it and placed it smartly on her head. "Besides nobody ignores Captain Tama of the S.S. Shiri-tan and goes unpunished! Wahahahaha!" Tama stirred up a steady breeze and began to steer the ship away from the floundering pirates, whose curses were drowned out by the wind and waves crashing down on them.

As Tama sailed away she sang, "Oh a drop of Osu's blood wouldn't do me any harm...," she paused and looked around at the carnage that Osu's blood had wrought and decided to rethink that verse, "Oh a drop of Osu's blood could prob'ly do me harm..." While continuing to sing, Tama decided that the S.S. Shiri-tan needed a good scrubbing sooner than later, a blood-soaked ship sailing the seas wasn't the ideal place for a romantic cruise with the Shogun.
