Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yuna had stayed quiet as she had told her Sennin that she would be for most of the time here in Wind Country. The possibility that they would run into agents that work for Akkuma, or even Akkuma himself are pretty high. Akkuma, a suspect that could be behind the attacks. She had remembered what Miro had said to the Leaf ninja before they had left. She doubted from how they reacted that they would heed her advice about Sand. She wondered might be happening since she had left Wind Country. Just how far has his hand reached into the affairs of everyone here if he is behind it all? Yuna only hopes that they get to Sand Village without a hitch. She had already looked through the scroll the Miro had given her when they were in Fire country, and memorized it to the best of her capabilities in order to make sure that the point gets across to the either the Sennin or even the Kazekage should they find either at the Sand Gates.

After days of travel the pair watched the land change with every step. The rich forests dwinlded each mile while the road grew gritty with sand. Shortly the world around her turned into a sandy and rocky landscape. The area turned into a massive sea of sand just like the books said in the library. The Sennin wanted to continue to admire the new terrain but what began to weigh on her shoulders was the importance of their mission. That was the mental test, the physical one; the damn heat.

She refrained from openly complaining. Did nobody any good. Especially her summon Naibu, who frankly didn’t want to hear it. Her mind refocused on the mission at hand but what stuck out were two names. Mirkou Akkuma and Kiko Myakashi. ‘Bastards.’ She thought to her summon. Mirō denied their relevance. Kicking them from her existence so she didn’t cosmically summon them. Her lips remained sealed to trudge through the blistering heat towards Sunagakure.

Akkuma had been eagerly watching the borders. Having gotten distracted while once more contemplating how events would unravel & trying to deduce the paths his foes would take. Many of his agents had been instructed to move in pairs & to frequently make contact. When his headset crackled to life the Sage was snapped back to the present. Positive that he'd not missed his own check in time left only one reason as to why they would contact him. Soon enough his train of thought was confirmed as a voice cut through the static. “Sir we have two shinobi caught crossing the border. From their path we believe them to have come from Fire Country. Continuing their current path of travel will take them straight to Sunagakure. Currently located North East of Lab 3.” with those words his eyes widened with delight as he buzzed the headset to life broadcasting on the secure channel his agents & closest allies used. “Understood, moving to engage. Observe & track only until my arrival.” with those words the Sage burst forward, chakra coursing through his body as he moved through the desert towards his prey. Little did he know there would be two very interesting surprises waiting for him.

Standing in their path of travel would be a curios sight. Akkuma would be standing in the middle of the dunes, dressed in a eloquent white suit. Underneath it his customized still-suit. Some of which could be seen by the cylindrical devices protruding from his back. A respirator-like device was connected to the still suit covering his neck & the lower half of his face. Emerald eyes gazed out at them as the two shinobi & another being came into sight. That long waist length hair of his danced in the wind that whipped over the dunes. Shining in the harsh sun of the desert dunes. He would raise a hand as they approached motioning for the group to continue their path towards him.

As they had walked in silence, Yuna noticed a man standing in the dunes. Her natural chakra energies was able to pick up any chakra signatures with ease. Normally, she wouldn't do what she is about to do, but she will need to make sure that they were both on the same page, even if Miro is her superior. She put a hand up to make sure her Sennin had stopped walking so that they both can take a look at him. She was able to sense his chakra alright. It had a very monstrous dark aura surrounding him.

"That's him." She spoke, barely above a whisper. "I'll follow your lead. But... As of right now, we don't know the full story. Best to gain information and keep cool until we make it to Sand." Again, she spoke barely above a whisper, only so that her Sennin would be able to hear her. Once that was said and done, she would fall silent and let Miro take the lead from here on out.

A tingle in her brain alerted her in the sudden spike in chakra. Instinctively her head cut towards the direction of the signature, its presence felt thick and heavy. The same aura that the pale puppet and her abomination covered them entirely but this… was different. Just as fast as the signature had been found it quickly changed its location. Red hues slid to the direction of charka. ‘Such massive chakra…’ A silvery voice whispered into her mind. ‘He wanted to be known…’

The moment grew intense and Yuna kept her word of muting herself when he appeared. There was no doubting it now. The man Yuna talked about had presented himself before them in a blink of an eye. ‘Raiden really is working against me…’ She muttered. Calloused fingers pulled at the edge of her hood to reveal her long black tresses. Her gold mask glinted in the suns rays as it turned to face the man in the distance. ‘You may want to ghost him…’ Naibu whispered to her mind. She batted away that idea, information played a vital role and like Yuna said they should just make it to Suna. She kept herself in check, “Who goes there? Some sort of escort into Sunagakure?” Not to give away any identifying information Mirō wanted to gain the upper hand on this little interrogation shakedown.

There was a brief moment of hesitation from the group as he made himself aware. A natural response he would not hold against the newcomers. From the attire their attire he was easily able to deduce a few reasons as to what their intent might be. That otherworldly presence of his reached out in an attempt to engulf the newcomers. Swallowing them in his life stealing aura. A natural & passive defensive for an individual such as himself. One that announced the danger practitioners such as the Sage posed to all they encountered. Fortunately he was given more information when they asked him if he was an escort to Sunagakure. The chuckle that escaped his covered lips was a devilish one that made no effort to disguise how amusing that thought was to him. "My name is Miroku Akkuma. Perhaps, I might be..." a singular response carried on the wind as he appraised the group. Slowly his right hand moved to casually form the one handseals necessary for the Anbu Chakra Sense jutsu. Demonstrating that he not only knew Anbu techniques but had mastered enough of them to be capable of such a feat.

"That depends entirely on what your intentions are. Given the attire of your group I'd safely assume your intent within these lands to be either illegal or clandestine in nature." his words were calm & spoken in a business-like manner. He had yet to ask them a question, although he had made it quite clear that he was not an individual who was easily deceived. Watching them closely he gauged their response, analyzing not only their body language but chakra. If they made any effort to flee or battle him he would not be caught off guard. Slowly his heart beat, pumping that thick tar-like blood through his veins. Even in the heat of battle there were few times his increased in rate. Then again there was very little about the Sage that remained human. Perhaps this was just another side effect from all he had done to himself? Those emerald eyes of his shifted from the forms of those before him. Taking in what features he could about them despite the masks & cloaks they wore. Meanwhile those emerald eyes of his were practically shining with delight at what was before him.

After all it had been so long since he'd truly been able to enjoy himself without fear of what might happen to the surrounding area. Out in the desert dunes he had no concerns of collateral damage. That tongue of his sliding along his lips hungrily, hidden by his stillsuit. Remaining there almost statuesque, if not for his hair that continued to dance freely in the wind.

Behind the mask her eyes narrowed. So he knows anbu jutsu. More importantly, the one he used, Yuna knew well. He was trying to gauge what kind of chakra they each hold. Smart, considering if he had an inkling to check for any other strangers that visit Wind Country and used that, he would be able to quickly sniff out who is who. Nevertheless, he would be able to sense a cool ocean wave, calm, yet the ability to turn into a full-blown hurricane if the 'waters' ever moved so slightly out of normality. He would also sense the power that Yuna seems to give to suggest that she isn't taking power from the land, but rather the land is GIVING power to her instead. It would be interesting. Even though in their first encounter, the man hadn't checked her chakra signature, but even if he did before, the chakra she possesses now is vastly different than when they had first met.

He had also introduced himself. If there ever was an inkling of doubt that he wasn't who she thought he was, it was gone now. Rather than answering, she would let Miro take the situation from here, and only react if necessary, along with if he were to approach her specifically with a question, she was ready with a note pad and pen in her pocket, should the need arise. She had seen what he can do in their fight against the Death Organization Member. Back then, they were allies of chance. Today... Well now that's the mystery. She would watch his every movement like a hawk. She'd rather avoid an unnecessary fight if they don't have all the information, but if push comes to shove, she will fight. Thinking back at the time they were at the bar, she also had to factor in the civilians. It's possible that he has been under Sands radar for so long since he himself hasn't caused too much mayhem in the country, enough to put the spotlight on him. Which would make sense. But now. They are in the middle of nowhere. No cluster of civilians lives that could possibly hurt his reputation and expose him to the higher ups of Sand. Just them and him.

Red hues watched the man like a hawk focused on distant prey. Suddenly his hand arose to make a complicated hand seal; however it was one she had recognized. The ability to track and sense the chakra of foes with more detail than the general senses could describe. From his perspective he’d notice the Sennin’s chakra echoed and rebounded from her heart in dark tinges of red. Each time her heart pulsed a ripple of chakra radiated outward like rain drops on a still lake. One molded in conviction with clay of anger and trauma. The life of the Uchiha was always one built on struggle. Once pure chakra now enveloped in a sea of darkness, yet that hadn’t turned her completely to the dark side.

Akkuma spoke out to them. The audacity of such a man to claim the reason for their arrival was to cause a shitstorm for Sunagakure. In reality, a simple letter drop off had been the one goal she yearned to complete. Yet his intuition may yield some results as Mirō intended to gather information about the Ancients of Sand and who controlled the puppet Kiko Myakashi. The duo’s outfits made them stand out yet every ninja with experience knew that masked travelers were foreign ninja and the mask did well to hide their intention but who, in today's world, wants to be tracked by some stranger. Mirō called out, “Since when did tourism become illegal? Sand had always welcomed missing ninja into their gates, what about some petty sight-seers?” Her hand extended outward to express her dialogue as her eyes spun into that famous Uchiha design. “We mean Sand no harm. Just a visit into the village for the experience of travel and meetings before we make haste to different countries.” Her honeyed words did well to try to paint a picture of innocence upon the duo. As her voice echoed outward the sense of creeping dread began to subtly pull at bits of her aura. A familiar feeling she had encountered at the gates with the big hatted musician. Their situation looked dire, so much so that Yuna remained ever vigiliant. Ready to move if the situation turned ugly.

The group before him was impressive to say the least. For ones chakra signature spoke volumes about them. No matter what one went through their core signature never changed. Having been through many forms he understood this to a greater detail then most shinobi. Fortunately for the two before him they had not been scanned by the Sage in a manner of speaking. Which meant they had not already earned his ire. Akkuma continued as if he knew not who the Golden Masked kunoichi was. After all Kiko had shared more then the memory but the experience of her visit to Kumogakure & all that had happened. There was an undeniable corruption that now flowed in the aura of the Golden masked Uchiha. Given that she was standing before him alive it was a surprise hatred hadn't consumed her in entirety. It was a testament to her abilities as a shinobi. For over everything else a shinobi must endure.

Then there was her companion, who had remained silent. 'Curious.' he thought noting the way this individuals chakra seemed to feed the earth beneath them. It would prove most beneficial to some of his studies regarding the Ancients & hybrids. Those emerald eyes of his held the Golden Masked Uchiha in their gaze as she spoke. Another devilish chuckle escaped his lips at her words. The audacity to assume he was foolish enough to believe her words. Even if he didn't know of the events that had transpired, he would be a poor example of an Anbu to fall for such lies. Then she talked of not wishing Suna any harm but mentioned meetings. Half truths used in an attempt to disguise the true purpose of their visit. Did they intend to salvage relations with the Sunans in the wake of what had transpired? Or were they here to see for themselves this Ancient threat? Lifting his hand to his neck the Sage pressed a release which triggered the respirator function of his suit to retract.

Upon his face a devilish grin & eyes full of absolute delight. "Half-truths will not serve you well this day." his words remained business-like & matter of fact. But an undeniable coldness lingered on his tone. With yet another set of one handed seals Akkuma would summon his old Anbu Mask, also the same one he had worn during his days of Hayate Shin's reign. A deep blue Oni Mask with exaggerated teeth & horns. "You seem to take me for a fool." Showing the mask to the two masked individuals before him. Confirming beyond any doubt he was the Demon of the Mist. During his time in Kumogakure he had served the village in his own way. There were more confirmed incidents about the man before them then there was rumors about your local boogeyman. His acts ranged from heroics to despicably unethical by most standards. Even back then as a teenager he had survived battles with Missing-nin & Kage. From the moment her eyes began to form the Sharingan his gaze moved down to her legs.

Tossing the mask aside it would crumble into dust carried by the wind. Black tangible chakra would exude from his lips carried away by the winds as Akkuma sighed. That unearthly aura of his covering the entire landscape around them. Making no effort to restrain that dangerous aura that crept along the nape of ones neck whispering run. "Deception. Slander. My you would be in trouble if I were a Sunan wouldn't you?" he said having lost the former business-like manner of speech to that of an almost playful way. Not the way one plays with friends, the way in which a predator played with it's food. Then again it was difficult to come across as anything over then sinister with aura he possessed.

Yuna listened as Miro and Akkuma spoke. She would feel his dark energies try its damndest to pull their, Yuna and Miro's, lifeforce away from them, along with instill fear and doubt into them. She let out a quiet sigh as natural energies surrounded both her and Miro, to both temporarily protect them from their lifeforce being taken and to give courage and will power to them both. She put a reassuring hand on her Sennin's shoulder, as if to say, best not to get worked up.

She then reached into her own pocket and pulled out a notebook and pen. She made sure Miro had sight of what she was writing so she can back her up if needed. A lot of what she is about to write will be based on assumption. But even if he does tell her that she is wrong, at least it would give them more information.

Of course we would be. But you're no normal person. Many people around the world know of your name, but refuse to do anything to you. It could be because they fear and respect you. Or because you haven't done anything to them just yet. Here and possibly more other areas, you are known as the Immortal Trickster. To suggest that you love games and plans. We do hope that if you do have a plan, it doesn't mean to harm Sand nor us. In good graces, I will be parting five-hundred thousand yen to give to you so that both parties may be on their way.

She looked at Miro in her eyes, giving her the note. If she wanted to tell Akkuma or chakra it to him would be up to her, but as the ANBU Sennin, she should know that they must get information anyway they, even through flattery. The last bit is to try to get past him without starting any trouble, though she has a feeling it won't be that easy.

The Sennin listened carefully to Akkumas' words. Quick to cast aside her words of tourism and meetings with the fine citizens of Sand while simultaneously pinpointing her true intentions. The letter was to be delivered to sand to warn them that they’d be scrutinized at the gates of Kumogakure. However her personal motive sought out the destruction of corruption and seeing those who spread such devious tales were brought to justice. The way she went about completing her goals lacked good faith, something Akkuma and her could possibly relate to.

Suddenly he summoned a devilish deep blue mask heavily worn and tested by time and battle. The history books had been cleansed of all bad tithes that happened to and within Kumogakure but those archives stored within the Sileo held a wealth of secret information. The tales of Hayate Shin’s reign as Raikage told stories of struggle and war. They were echoed loudly by the current Raikage on their behavior and leadership within Kumogakure. Behind every tale or ghost story told to children held an ounce of truth. Tales spun by the old generations painted a vivid picture of the Demon of the Mists. As for Mirō’s luck in shite situations she found herself up against the man himself. If the mask, creeping dread and overwhelming confidence didn’t sell anyone on his battle experience, the aversion of his gaze into her sharingan spoke volumes.

From her side Yuna pulled out a notepad and began to write. ‘Umashi seems to rub off on everyone…’ She thought while her gaze on Akkuma remained. Each passing moment he moved into a stance she had seen again and again. He was ready to pounce but the duo would not fall over as easily as he’d thought. Mirō did not seek a fight with the demon but prepared herself for the inevitable. However, in hopes to refrain from bloodshed they continued their diplomatic approach.

Gently Mirō grabbed Yuna’s note and read it carefully. With her own words and interpretation she projected her voice to the man. “That is true. Yet you are no Sunan, you’re a rogue. Those within Suna obey your whim and command out of fear for themselves and their future. The people that hold respect for your name have been moved like pawns in your game, Immortal Trickster. This suggests you had not shown your plain face to us just to kill us.” She paused momentarily. “You have other cards up your sleeve of tricks and we hope one of those has a plan to deal with Kumogakure if we do not return unscathed.” The Sennin gambled on all his motives for facing them directly. While the issue at Kumogakure gates had probably been a well devised plan to lure out the leaders to seek him out. Mirō refrained from mentioning the sum of yen. She had a hunch that this terrorist in particular had no need for material wealth but the sum of true power combined.

She didn’t wait for a response. “You personally sent that puppet, Kiko Myakashi, to each village to provoke a war between the nations. To ignite a flame between everyone and for what?” Mirō held her tongue, her fist curled into a tight ball while the memories of her fellow operatives corpses ran through her head like a reel at a cinema. The possibilities were endless. Was it to bring the leaders to sand and exact a master plan? To negotiate for resources and build power for the Ancients of Suna? Or simply out of boredom. An insult to not only her people, herself and Kumogakure but to himself too. “What do you and the Ancients of Suna have in store for the shinobi world.”

Those emerald orbs slid from the Golden Masked Uchiha to her mute companion as the notebook was drawn. Noting it was passed to the one he'd presumed to be the leader of the group. Listening to the accusation that he was controlling the Sunans made him chuckle. His relationship with Sunagakure had been rocky as was his relationship with all the villages. That was not to say he didn't hold a fondness for them, but it was all to clear to him that he would not be accepted for what he was here. Although he did find it curious that she outright voiced her suspicions of him. Either hoping to prod him into divulging information for free or in an effort to goad him into some kind of stereotypical monologue. "I am forever amazed by the willful ignorance of you village shinobi." he would say in response to her first allegations. To think he could control the Sunans, if only she knew what a proud & headstrong people they were. She then began to voice her curiosity over why he had chosen to approach them, noting that if he intended to kill them he should at least be prepared for Kumogakure to respond. A devilish chuckle would begin to build within the Sage at her warning that he would have to be prepared for Kumogakure's retaliation should that fail to return. "Would I?" his words were calm & said in a matter of fact manner. A simple counter question for they were quite far from home. Akkuma doubted meeting him was part of their intended plan & as such the risk of any potential retaliation would be minimal if at all. Rather any fallout would most likely fall to Konohagakure or Sunagakure. But that would be too easy & much less fun. He could see the hatred within this Uchiha, how easy it would be to further guide her for his own agenda. The silent companion was an unknown variable but that just made the task before him more exciting.

"My according to you I've been quite busy. Single-handedly altering the geopolitical balance of our world. Supposedly have not just a whole village but my very own super soldier capable of doing these tasks. Does that sound like something one man could ach..." he began listing her accusations out loud in order to reaffirm the absurdity of it. That was when he noticed her hands clenching into fists as she spoke her final accusation. While the Golden Masked kunoichi had some of the pieces she had no evidence to back up her claims. Especially for those that had any understanding of just how complicated the logistics such events would be. Let alone the insinuation that a Demon was working with Ancients. For they were renowned for despising one another on a primal level. The implication that the hotheaded & foolhardy Sage had been able to mastermind such an event would be laughable to most. A deep monstrous growl that rumbled from deep within the Sage built to a low snarl. While true he was in some way working with Kaen it was only because the Hybrid had been manipulated into thinking he had committed the atrocity. Yet this slither of truth could not stop the instinctual response from the Sage despite the Shinigami within doing it's best to consume the ever growing influence of his demonic nature within.

Post Theme

No longer was his gaze averted from the Uchiha. Instead it rose to meet that crimson sharingan of hers. A testament to the fury he was experiencing for he'd shown both the awareness & experience of how best to defend against the Doujutsu. "Watch your tongue unless you want me to remove your eyes for that insolence." A threat of the highest magnitude to any Doujutsu user. One spoken without any trace of his former decorum instead a primal rage coated his words & burned within his gaze. His heart now thudding hard at a steady almost human pace, despite the tar-like blood it pumped. Raising his hand in an authoritative gesture to silence her should she attempt to say anything in response. "Allow me to enlighten you before you foolishly provoke me further." he would say almost sternly to the group before him. "While this information would normally cost you I have no interest in being used. As such it is to both my benefit & yours that you find whoever is behind this." he would state as he began to approach the small group. No sign of aggression shown in his strides.

"My influence comes from information. That doesn't grant one the kind of power needed to achieve what you've accused me of today." he would say truthfully. For to achieve what he had one needed much more, but he had spent a life time cultivating his skills and networks to achieve his goals. "Given that Lady Asuka, the Hokage is betrothed to a Missing-Nin from Konohagakure one might think it prudent to investigate them. Given his clans ambitions such a union has the potential to achieve what you've claimed. Then again I do imagine she's tried quite hard to keep that little secret contained." Another devilish grin would appear upon his face as he spoke these words of truth. "Sunagakure like Kumogakure was all too happy to utilize my services. Until they too chose to banish me once I'd served my use, not unlike Kumogakure." he would say announcing that he had been banished from Sunagakure, although as usual his words were a mix of truth & deception. "While young the Kazekage in particular surprised me. Recently announcing the Sennin Games, an event where the strongest & best of Wind Country will compete for the title of Sennin. A peculiar break from tradition that could very well be seen as an attempt to project strength." he would allow for the group to process this new information. For the information further raised suspicion about both villages. What did Konohagakure have planned that would require such a union? Why would the Kazekage break from tradition & hold such a public event in order to fill such an important role?

These Nations were clearly preparing for conflict in their own ways. Each new bit of information would make it seem more & more likely that he was not in fact the culprit. More likely then not he had been used & framed in order to dispose of the threat he posed with his information network. After all why would someone who clearly had the mindset to process & acquire information. Also had the means to distribute it, as such it would be unnecessary to bring his quarry to him if he truly wished to deceive them. It would be an incredible risk. One that would be entirely unnecessary. Had they been fooled? Guided to remove a potential threat to this grand conspiracy while convincing Kumogakure. For that would be the reasonable response for anyone that truly believed they had found the perpetrator of such heinous acts. Now he just had to see if the uncertainty & lack of information would be enough to stay their hands long enough for the seeds of suspicion to grow with these new facts.

Yuna watched the man as he was starting to show his true colors. Gone was the look of excitement that he had on his face. He then went on to talk about things to 'set them straight', if one were to call it that. She could tell that Miro was losing her cool, and frankly, Yuna doesn't blame her. But alas, they didn't come here for a fight. She put another hand up, in an attempt to calm her Sennin before writing in the notebook once more. And again, she made sure that Miro had full sight of what she was writing.

No offense, but you are a stranger to us, as we are to you. This information that you have given us. Is interesting, yet, we cannot just act on it because you said so. First things first. Lady Asuka betrothed to a Missing Ninja sounds very outlandish. However, it would be something to look into. Along with this Missing Ninja's clan. As for your banishment from Sand, there can only be two possibilities. Sand isn't as great as it once was, or you are lying. The very fact that you are here would prove the point in both cases. I am sure, if a Village truly wanted to be rid of a person they would make sure that said person is no longer in the Country. As for this... Sennin Games? From how it sounds, maybe they are trying to get good leadership in the Sennin Ranks. A good leader has shed their own blood, sweat, and tears to help a community grow. So that may be the reason for the Kazekage's actions.

Going back to us being strangers, we have no reason to trust anything you say to us, and neither us to you. But if you do truly think that we are 'ignorant village shinobi' and that we were wrong about you the whole time, then how about we all go about our day? I'm sure you have better things to do than argue with people that you think are ignorant.

An attempt to break off from the interaction. Yuna wrote down about a page and a half on the little notebook that she had. But this time, she didn't give it to Miro, as she had a feeling that her Sennin might just make matters worse. If this guy was behind the attack at the gates, and a lot of people have died, it would do them no good to be two more people added onto that list. And, if they do get dragged into a fight, and beat him, there would be no telling of any other of Akkuma's advocates identities. They only know of this Kiko, but there is always the possibility that he has more people working with him. She gave the page and a half of words to Akkuma to read. If he were, however to try anything to do anything other than take the pages from her, she would immediately jump back.

The Sennin jutted her head back when Akkuma failed to take the bait she had cast out. She sucked her teeth. No doubt that he had been a surprise turn of events for the duo but surprises came with the shinobi job. Their whereabouts weren’t unknown like his. There were people in this world that had the authority to govern the whereabouts of shinobi. Whether it be business or out of concern those that remained attached to villages had a place to call home. A place that, if they had not returned, someone would come for them. That could not be the same for rogue shinobi like him. Perhaps it had been many years since he had a rightful place where his allies would seek out and assist him.

See watched the man as he spoke. His words were spun like silk with a cloth of lies and deception. What Kiko had told them had the highest probability of being a lie but what they spoke of… aligned so well with the evidence given. It had been a gut feeling, something she followed like a devoted cultist.

No. Of course he would lie. That’s what every mouse had to do in order to survive. The world had always been bleak, if lies, deception, treachery and violence were the answer to reach a greater goal, who wouldn’t leap to use those tools. She would know. There had still been no true reason for him to be honest and truthful, especially since her threat folded under his pressure. Suddenly those emerald eyes fixated on her scarlet hues. A smile crept on her lips. There were only two reason to look an Uchiha in the eyes, if you were foolish or confident. It was usually the latter. Without another beat he began to speak ill of the Hokage. A story of love that felt akin to a piece of poetry she read as a child. Then another tale of the Kazekage announcing an event to choose the next Sennin.

A drama bomb had been placed in the air and the fuse had been lit. Without much effort Mirō dismissed the story of those dogs within Leaf. The treaty had been broken and from their response it seemed they hadn’t cared in the slightest. If they were consolidating power a more dramatic response may have been warranted. Perhaps they were strong enough to fight on their own but the incident at their gates spoke volumes. The games within Suna seemed like their own display of power. The turn out. The participants. The coverage. All for Suna to gain eyes on their applicants and prove to the others that they had the power, resources and strong people to contend for such a title. Still, it was odd they marketed it so loud and aggressively.

These spikes in security and displays of power were all the Ancients doing. An arc in which she believed wholeheartedly that he was a culprit. If not the leader, a powerful resource and key to their success. Just before she began to speak her peripherals caught the movement of a utensils on the notepad. Yuna continued to remain mute to conceal her identity. Her ties to the mission within Sand gave her a wealth of knowledge and even so the information on Akkuma. She had been an ideal puzzle piece. Quietly she wrote out her note but she refrained from letting the Sennin see. Mirō rose a fine brow as she watched the note tear from the pad. She began to move towards Akkuma and the world fell silent. Sands still stirred within the breeze but made no noise. The Sennin had fixated her gaze onto Akkuma’s, ready to infiltrate his twisted mind if she noticed any foul movements other than to take the note. Mirō placed a mountain of trust onto her. Let’s hope it wasn’t for granted.

Those emerald eyes of his watched them as he spoke. Much to his surprise the individual who he gathered to be in charge of this endeavor had little to say in response to his words. But that was not necessarily a bad thing, he hoped it meant she was thinking about what he'd said. To his surprise the individual who had remained silent began writing once more. This time extending the torn page to the Sage. Extending a hand he would accept the piece of paper his eyes scanning it's contents. A chuckle would escape his lips as chakra ignited from his fingertips destroying the parchment. "Perhaps I'm an optimist? It would be refreshing to be wrong but I so rarely am about such things. In the end ignorance to the truth of things is a choice." he would say as the ash that was the note was carried in the wind. "I wouldn't call it an argument little shadow. But I've always been one for healthy discourse." he would say in a nonchalant manner. "The truth is often more complex then we'd like it to be. So rarely are things black & white in this world." he noted in regards to her understandable doubts about his words regarding the villages current activities.

"In my experience it takes time to see things for what they are. That didn't stop me from warning Kogami Ayumu about the threat from Tea, nor any of the other warnings I passed on to my fellow shinobi." he would say with a shrug. Whether they listened or not he cared little. The important thing to him was he had given them a chance, but over the years he had given many chances. Too often throughout the years his warnings had fallen upon deaf ears. Or worse yet they chose to actively ignore his warnings treating him as the enemy. Still he had remained loyal to his fellow shinobi for many a year. But he had come to realize they would never do what was necessary for true change. All of them had failed to even commit to their facade of peace properly. The consequences of this poorly maintained facade could no longer be ignored.

The enemies of shinobi had moved against them time & time again. Still they had remained committed to their destructive path of feigned alliance. Akkuma could tolerate it no more, but he had further use yet of these villages before they discovered the truth & just how far his reach truly spanned. By the time they returned to their lands they would hear of the attack in Moon committed by a Kumogakurian. Such an incident would not be taken lightly by the Shrine. Perhaps even his efforts in Tea would be completed before their visit to Sunagakure was finished up. After all his agents were extremely effective at what they did. "It would seem we are at an impasse. At least until you realize I've spoken the truth." he would say with a tone that made no effort to hide his confidence on the subject. Removing one such as himself was not an easy task, but he chose not remind them that this was something even Kumogakure had learnt many years ago. "Should you require my services in the future, book a room at an Inn called 'Sanctuary'. It's located at the base of the Luminous Mountains." with those words he would give a theatrical bow with exaggerated flare.

His right hand would begin forming more handseals behind his back, upon completion he would begin sinking into the sands beneath their feet. "Until we meet again." His parting words accompanied with a devilish grin as he vanished into the earth below using the Inner Earth Reflection Lure jutsu. Yuna would be able to feel the slow pulse of his heartbeat further away with each thud until it was gone. Moments after even the lingering dread of his aura would be gone. Having once more returned to the dunes of the Sunan wastes, leaving the Kumogakurians to process what had just happened. Only time would tell if the Fates had been smiling upon them today or if it had been a foreshadowing sign of what was to come.

Yuna eyed the man and even after he left, even after his dark aura has been gone for a minute, she didn't dare let out a sigh. But once that minute was done, she finally let out a sigh and looked to her Sennin. Akkuma had given them plenty to think about, and a chance to get more info from him should they require. She patted her cloak to make sure that she still had the message that is meant for Sand before nodding to Mirō. She would then say in a hushed tone that only Mirō would hear, "Let's go. See what has been keeping Sand busy."

‘Kogami Ayumu?’ The Sennin was taken back once again as a fine brow rose up in curiosity. Such close likeness to her own name was he… No. Mentally batting away the thought of true family she returned to fixation to Akkuma. He continued to defend his lies, yet his confidence in his tales spoke louder than his words. Since her slave days she had always watched the tone of ones words to see if what they spoke of held any merit. The walking devils without horns she encountered always had ulterior motives. Akkuma’s tone… Suddenly he began to sink into the vast dunes of sand. Revealing a message and a destination for future use to the duo. Soon after he disappeared and that looming sense of dread faded slowly.

Why had she just let a possible suspect disappear before her eyes? She had millions of questions yet without moving she allowed him to leave. Mirō had been stuck on his implications as he left quite a bit to digest. Was she plagued with second thoughts? Red optics moved over to Yuna who spoke out to her. “You’re giving commands now?” She hissed. Her tone turned serious, reminding Yuna of the difference in positions. Regardless, the duo moved towards the gates of Sand.
‘Mirkou Akkuma…’
