Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

• Arai Seira has long, blonde hair which is usually left down, except a small section that is tied up on the side.
Her eyes are brown and were once-full of hope, but now more-so sorrow.
She wears a white, sleeveless, collared shirt with blue accents and a blue skirt.
Seira walks in the shadows, only seen when wanted to be. So much time away from people has turned her rather shy.
She has a body of the young woman she had grown into.

• Arai Seira was, in her youth, a kunoichi of the Village Hidden in the Mist. Now, she is left a homeless wanderer.
So many skills she had learned by the time she was a young adult, she now found herself lost to use.
She still trained, as she once did, in private. No matter where she went, the training was like a little piece of home.
Survival was much easier for her than she imagined it was for any of the other stragglers from her home.
She has lost the hope and faith she once has, and her spirituality is now a dying ember.
She has always strongly disliked traditional "doctors." In The Village of Mist, she did medical treatments through chakra
& healing abilities that came naturally to her. These abilities are still practiced, in small doses.

A clan originating from the village hidden in the Mist, the Haku are an effeminate and graceful clan possessing a powerful affinity to Ice, a trait which leaves even their skin chilly to touch. Those of this Bloodline are majestic and beautiful at birth, and even the men of this ability can rival pretty women in looks. However, mistaking a Haku to be delicate can prove a very dangerous mistake, for their skill and control with ice can easily freeze those who invoke their wrath at a moments notice, their skills the pinnacle of Icy jutsu.

Crystal Ice - Passive
All Haku are instinctively born with a natural affinity to Ice, possessing the ability to manipulate it to their own desire. They possess the ability of Crystal Ice; ice which seems to prove harder than steel, and colder than the ice of other shinobi, even capable of withstanding intense flames without melting. Innately, all Ice techniques used by the Haku are made of this advanced ice, giving them a strength others don't have.

Rank 1: Ice Jutsu Damage is increased by 5%.
Rank 2: Ice Jutsu Damage is increased by 10%.
Rank 3: Ice Jutsu Damage is increased by 15%.

---

Flash Freeze - Passive
A Haku's ability to manipulate ice and cold gives them an edge they cannot use without ice to manipulate. They naturally possess the ability to rapidly chill the air around them and targets, giving them the ability that allowing them to freeze water, and even the air itself, into Crystal Ice.

Rank 1: May convert Water and Wind Jutsu into Ice by paying an additional 20% Chakra Cost.
Rank 2: May convert Water and Wind Jutsu into Ice by paying an additional 10% Chakra Cost.
Rank 3: May convert Water and Wind Jutsu into Ice at no extra cost.

Notes:
- The Haku automatically has access to the Ice element.
- All techniques used with this are treated as Ice element.

---

One Handed Seals - Passive
Dexterous, swift and agile, the graceful Haku also possess a unique chakra system that does not necessarily require the use of normal handseals to be controlled. The Haku possess the ability to use One handed seals, which in turn free's up the natural limits of a shinobi while performing jutsu and giving them an edge over other shinobi.

Rank 1: May use one handed seals to cast jutsu, though doing so increases its Cp cost by 30%.
Rank 2: May use one handed seals to cast jutsu, though doing so increases its Cp cost by 15%.
Rank 3: May use one handed seals to cast jutsu with no penalty.

---

Flying Water Needles - Ice Ninjutsu
A dangerous secret jutsu passed down instinctively to the Haku, this technique is performed by simply kicking water into the air, spontaneously freezing it into long, sharp needles that shoot in on the target as a surprisingly quick attack that proves difficult to avoid.

Rank 1: Creates and attacks with 10 ice senbon that each deal 75 damage at +1 Accuracy. Only 7 may hit.
Rank 2: Creates and attacks with 13 ice senbon that each deal 90 damage at +1 Accuracy. Only 10 may hit.
Rank 3: Creates and attacks with 15 ice senbon that each deal 130 damage at +1 Accuracy. Only 12 may hit.

Costs:

Rank 3: 2 AP; 520 chakra

Notes:

---

Frozen Spear - Ice Ninjutsu
In keeping with their inclination toward weapons and ice, the Haku have a jutsu that allows them to combine these affinities and attack with a surprising jutsu that creates a weapon of ice: forming a spear out of thin air, or well, water.

Rank 1: Spear does 1040 damage at -2 Accuracy and reduces the target's accuracy/dodge by -1 for 1 round.
Rank 2: Spear does 1290 damage at -1.5 Accuracy and reduces the target's accuracy/dodge by -1.5 for 1 round.
Rank 3: Spear does 1550 damage at -1 Accuracy and reduces the target's accuracy/dodge by -2 for 1 round.

---

Red Snow - Ice Ninjutsu
An ability that allows the Haku to call snow forth from the sky, This technique is used to cause snowflakes to fly around in the manner of a dust storm, hurting as each snowflake is as sharp as a razor, easily capable of going through an opponent and staining the snow red with blood.

Rank 1: Causes everyone but the user to take 300 damage/round, with a +20% Chance to Bleed.
Rank 2: Causes everyone but the user to take 400 damage/round, with a +15% Chance to Bleed.

Costs:
Rank 1: 2 AP; 350 Cp/Rnd
Rank 2: 2 AP; 430 Cp/Rnd
Rank 3: 2 AP; 520 Cp/Rnd

---

Ice Blast - Ice Ninjutsu
When the situation calls for it, the Haku is not without their own massive attacks. Using this skill, an orb of ice with a diameter of four feet is created around the Haku. The orb lasts only for a split second, appearing as a translucent dome around the user which shatters and explodes violently, blasting outwards to hit everything on the field with a bombard of jagged icy shards.

Rank 1: Explosion causes 1,440 ice damage at +1.5 Accuracy.
Rank 2: Explosion causes 1,800 ice damage at +2 Accuracy.
Rank 3: Explosion causes 2,160 ice damage at +2.5 Accuracy.

Costs:

Blue Blood - Ice Ninjutsu
Named after the popular term coined for the nobility and a favorite of the Haku this technique allows them to slowly chill the blood of their opponent, which forces their body to grow cold from the inside out and results in the onset of hypothermia. In order to do this, the Haku imbue a piece of ice, usually shaped as a weapon of sorts, with chakra before launching it at an enemy, though some have been known to chill their victims with a simple cold stare.

Rank 1: Causes -2 dodge/accuracy and a 5% fail chance per each action for two rounds.
Rank 2: Causes -2 dodge/accuracy and a 7% fail chance per each action for two rounds.

---

Ice Clone - Ice Clone Ninjutsu
The Haku possess the ability to manipulate and control in many forms, and this does not simply limit them to shaping ice into multiple weapons suitable for battling; They possess the ability to create a clone of Crystal Ice, freezing nearby water and air into a replica image of themselves imbued with enough chakra that allows the Haku to control the sculpture's actions to a level that assists them in battle.

Rank 1: Creates a 'clone' that has 20% of the user's Max HP and CP and -7 secondaries.
Rank 2: Creates a 'clone' that has 25% of the user's Max HP and CP and -6 secondaries.
Rank 3: Creates a 'clone' that has 30% of the user's Max HP and CP and -5 secondaries.

Cost: 2.5 AP; 2,000 Chakra, 950 Cp/Rnd.

Notes:

- Clone has half the user's AP.
- Can only create one clone.
- Cannot have more then one clone on the battle at one time

---

Demonic Ice Mirrors - Ice Barrier Ninjutsu
Perhaps the single most feared technique the Haku may draw upon, this skill is a lineage jutsu going as far back as the originator of the Haku line. Designed as an assassination tactic, this jutsu traps a victim within the confines of multiple sheets of Crystal Ice, each made from both large amounts of Ice and chakra. Each appears immensely reflective, preventing those from within to accuratly view the area within and vice-versa, the large mirrors obscuring vision. Yet their true effect is beyond merely cosmetic; the Haku are gifted with the ability to merge and reflect themselves at high speeds through the mirrors, unable to be seen moving to the normal eye.

Rank 1: Upon resolution, the Haku may trap up to 3 targets within the Demonic Ice mirrors. There are a total of 7 reflections of the user and 1 holding the real one. Anyone inside that area is trapped within, and anyone outside is trapped outside. The ice mirrors have a total 6,000 HP, and regenerate 20% of it's max Hp per round.
Rank 2: Upon resolution, the Haku may trap up to 4 targets within the Demonic Ice mirrors. There are a total of 8 reflections of the user and 1 holding the real one. Anyone inside that area is trapped within, and anyone outside is trapped outside with the user having +1 to all Exit/Enter checks. The ice mirrors have a total 9,000 HP, and regenerate 20% of it's max Hp per round.
Rank 3: Upon resolution, the Haku may trap up to 4 targets within the Demonic Ice mirrors. There are a total of 9 reflections of the user and 1 holding the real one. Anyone inside that area is trapped within, and anyone outside is trapped outside with the user having +2 to all Exit/Enter checks. The ice mirrors have a total 12,000 HP, and regenerate 20% of it's max Hp per round.

Special Action - Demonic Ice Mirror Assault:The Haku may strike 5 times with their currently equipped weapon at 450 Damage each strike. They may target multiple targets within the Demonic Ice Mirrors by splitting the attacks amongst the targets. This may also target a single target as well that is within the Demonic Ice Mirror. This costs 2.25 AP and 820 CP.

Costs:
Rank 1: 3 AP; 2,000 Chakra and 950/rnd
Rank 2: 3 AP; 3,000 Chakra and 1,430/rnd
Rank 3: 3 AP; 4,000 Chakra and 1,900/rnd

Notes:
- The user may use Supplemental Jutsu (Non-Attacking jutsu) within the demonic ice mirror.
- The user may also use basic strikes while inside of the mirror. They are granted 2 AP worth of PRIORITIZED attacks (meaning, they happen before all other actions). The 2 AP that is prioritized is not an addition to their existing AP.
- Reflections work similar to clones when being attacked. Mirrors cannot dodge if used in this fashion.
- The Haku can only attack people within the Mirrors.
- Those inside and outside of the mirror may choose to attack the mirrors. The Haku may allow the mirrors to dodge using -4 dodge. Mirrors can only dodge if they are directly targeted.
- The Haku gains +1 Critical to basic Melee/Ranged attacks.
- Entering or Exiting the diameter of the mirrors requires a a check using the user's Nin Accuracy vs the person entering or exiting's Melee Dodge at 2 AP per attempt. All failed attempts at entering/escaping allow the user one free Basic attack against the victim. This is modded immediately after the failed attempt and counts as a basic strike with the equipped weapon.
- Mirror Hp can be increased by Ice Element Buffs.
- By casting this jutsu, all of the user's current clones instantly dissipate, disallowing clones into the Demonic Ice Mirrors.
- Mirrors can be the target of a called shot. Two successful called shots can destroy a mirror. Cannot destroy more than 5 mirrors. The Mirror HP regeneration does not bring back lost mirrors.
- Only one Demonic Ice Mirror can be on the field at once.

• In The Beginning...
~**~

Arai Seira was born nineteen years ago, amongst a family of wanderers. As a caravan they traveled, in her childhood, no one place seemed to make any difference. Settling was unknown of, and she learned completely opposite of a school life. Hands-on experience, learning to fight against nature, bandits, and learning survival. For fourteen years, she lead this life, not even giving a passing thought to how the people in the villages they visited made their homes. Hers was amongst her family, some of the family not blood related, a small group finding happiness in all of nature's wonders.

Sometime in late summer after Seira had turned fourteen, back then she knew not of calendar days, only seasons, her family was attacked by an unfriendly encounter with shinobi. Bandits were a common enemy, always trying to take, but Seira had been taught all of her life small tricks to do, and had time-after-time outsmarted whatever came their way. Shinobi were, while rare, a fear unlike any other. The girl slipped out of camp to have a late-night bath at a hot spring not far away from camp, an option that, unknown to her at the time, guaranteed her safety. Just as she was drying off and re-dressing herself to return to camp, she heard the sounds of terror and cries that loudly called out in the night, including the warnings of shinobi.

Even years later she struggled with not knowing if what she did next was the right move. Seira ran as fast and far away as she could. There was nothing she could do against a foe of such strength, but pray that they kept her family alive. Maybe. Tears streamed down her face, and her feet ran without needing her brain to pick a location. The closest village happened to be Kirigakure, the Village Hidden in Mist. They had just left this city not but a day ago, and in the darkest hours of the night, she found herself knocking at the gate.

A family of shinobi took her in, giving her a bed to sleep in, food in her belly, and new amazing information in her brain. Not only did she learn to read and write, she was also taught and trained in the ways of the shinobi. She had never experienced something that gave her more joy, and loved to practice and advance in her kunoichi standing. A few years passed, she always was grateful to the Hiachi family and worked hard around the house and grew a garden for them to eat from as her repayment. Times were good, people were good, but she never stopped thinking about her family, and what had happened to them. She found that she didn't miss the traveling, only the beauty of nature, but even around the village it was shown.

Finding Spirituality
~**~
Four days after turning eighteen-years-old, in the prime of her youth, Seira was in a near-fatal accident. She had fallen out of a tree she had been climbing, and her landing was brutal. Her body had reached death, ribs outstruck, head cracked, and a variety of broken bones. She felt no more, and opened her eyes. A beautiful woman with a strong presence she could feel all over outstretched a hand to the girl. The woman glowing brightly, almost too brightly to look at clearly, spoke with a soft, gentle voice.

"To fully understand death, we must first experience it. I'm sorry if this hurt you."

Seira found her eyes became easier to open and see through. She looked down and the beautiful woman was preforming what seemed to be healing on her recently-mangled body. Everything about the being was mystical, she was in amazement. "Am I dead?" Her voice sounded harsh and rough in comparison. Was she an angel?

"The answer is you are re-born, my child. Your destiny is to continue shinobi practice, but also learn the ways of the healing within it. To live or to die is a blurry line, one that is not refined enough. You are The One, God has chosen you to give people the gift of life or the gift of death. Don't regard either as negative, just do as needed. Guidance will always be given, just listen within."

Seira awoke to find herself lying underneath a tree, not a drop of blood on her, everything working as it should be. Nobody had been around at the time, and nobody was still, no witness with her to prove that what had just happened wasn't just a dream. Crazy or blessed, could anyone really know which? The incident, whether regarded to as real or unreal, had made the girl join the Medical branch. For a little over a year she lived training and working hard, living a more spiritual life, and as such noticing more and more that God spoke to her every day. A busy life, with so much more to come.

Waking From Amnesia

The Mistie wasn't in her home, she was laying in a grassy field. A field which was obviously not in the Water Country. With a quick scan of the area through her light brown eyes, she noted that there wasn't even a body of water or foggy air within eyesight. The young girl looked at her arms, and found them dirty and dusty, although the top she wore was the same as usual. Her clothes were just as dirty as her body, but with nicks and slight tears.

Seira racked her brain for what seemed like the millionth time this week, trying to remember something, anything about what happened, and how she got here. It was a different place than she had called home. The grass seemed greener, the trees more vibrant, and dust all about. The veil of fog, the surrounding waters, the house which she called home, all the familiar friendly faces, it was all gone. But what happened?

Cold. The word was like a clue, an answer to the mystery. All she remembered was the cold. And now, back in the real world, it was anything but. The sun beat down on her, reminding her that she was thirsty, hungry, and overall exhausted. But with no sense of memory as to how she got here, she wasn't sure how to find water or food or civilization. There was nothing to do but start walking, and hope she found something to sustain her.

Due east, the woman walked as quickly as she could with her knees wobbly and her mind hazy. The sun was still high in the sky, yet on its decendant path to the setting of the evening. With a few hours of daylight left, surely she could find some sort of liquid in which she could sustain herself off of until civilization and answers could be founded. So, she briskly walked.

After a couple of hours she found a small pond, with seemingly no pollution and few animals to guard it, so she drank cautiously. The sun was crawling closer to the land, and Seira knew she had not many hours of daylight left, but was no stranger to traveling in the night. She set off in the same direction she had been going, with the bright sun shining proudly on her back. A small stream of smoke could be seen off in the distance, indicating fire. And fire meant one very specific thing, humans.

In this time of walking, this time that was so private and primal, the girl spent much of it contemplating who she was and what had happened. How did she get here? Where was her house and family? Why could she not remember? She felt a string of faith in her heart, which she traced to being absolutely useless in this time. If there was a God, how could they let this happen? If there was a God, but there was obviously not. Spirituality was a fool's game, she thought as she traveled. Never again would she so blindly follow the teachings of those religious folk, they had no answers for times like now.

~**~

A year had passed since the accident. Arai Seira had remembered many things, but not all. The name came first, along with fighting and survival skills. She had a natural ability to work with and control chakra that she picked up on quickly. Thankfully, due to her previous training and job work, she was able to keep alive and travel to a nearby village, where she spent many days remembering her previous life as a kunoichi. She asked around for information, and lived on whatever work she could find here and there. She was strong, and usually the simple townsfolk could spare a few coins or a bed and some food for labor.

Careful to never outstay her welcome, the young adult still traveled the majority of her time, and so she decided one day that she would take the directions that she had heard amongst the whispers and visit the place they say it was. She doubted she would recognize it, as she still had no memories of the town itself, only memories of inside a few select places, but she set out nonetheless. For many moons she traveled, practicing her old ninjutsu techniques along with her new ones that she had naturally found coming to her.

She remembered her faith to the greater force, spirituality, and now laughed at how gullible she was. There was no God and no true religion, only life and death. Death could happen at any moment and for no reason, to anyone. That is why Seira made herself strong always. She would be the best decider of her own fate, and she had forgotten many of the old things that she had learned. Mostly she had just her ninjutsu now, with a couple of basic taijutsu moves she had picked up, the genjutsu she once knew was gone with the wind. Once she reached the water country, she found herself working with mostly one element in specific, something new to her, but very strong.

~*~

Arai Seira found herself working mostly with ninjutsu, and more specifically the element of ice these days. She did not use it much before the accident, in her days as a shinobi, but she also was a protected medic. Now on her own, ninjutsu came in handy as a survival strategy and for protection and sustaining herself, especially her dangerous ice.

The girl reached her destination; the icy ruins of what was once the great Kirigakure. Tears filled her brown eyes as memories flooded her head; all small clips which meant so much despite the rapid pace before her. The volcano, the ice, the terror-filled cries of the villagers about to burn to death. It was a terrible shaded past that caused her great pain, and almost regret. She could have, she should have, saved at least someone else. In the terror and confusion, everyone was on their own, and Seira's main goal that painful night was to come out alive.

After the accident, as she referred to it now, her memory was full of blank spaces, big holes of void space where memories once were. Her life was completely different then; as if she was living a whole new life. She constantly had thoughts doubting the reality of the memories as they started to come to her in dreams; until she finally understood. They always had a realistic feeling to them that was beyond most other dreams, but it wasn't until she started to see her hand signs and shinobi training that she recognized them as the memories they were.

Seira took cautious steps through the icy caverns that laid waste to her people. She felt more pain, and the thoughts of God that had once followed her were now completely washed away with hurt feelings. She had not dressed for this weather, but felt not bothered in the slightest. She walked with the ice to the place that she once knew so well. Her heart strings were pulled painfully as she approached the ruins of the place she once called home. Pain washed over her, but she walked to stand where her residence had been, following her instincts.

"Why did this happen to me?!" Her voice echoed in the ruins, but nobody else was around to hear it. She let the tears come, and sobbed on the lonely ice. "I should have died that day!" The voice was loud, and upset. No one was around for miles, and Seira doubted that would have much influence over her reaction anyways. Her heart hurt in ways she had never felt, in ways her memories had blocked her from feeling for so long now. She fell to her knees and sobbed to let all of the past anguish and sorrow go.

"Seira~"

A whisper in the wind, but it was heard by the girl from behind where she was. She wiped her tears and stood to face the direction of the voice. What she saw was surely a figment of her imagination; her mother. "But you're--" Seira started, and was interrupted by the most likely imagined figure of her mother appearing to stand before her.

"You can keep the people of Kirigakure alive~" The voice was one not heard by Seira in many years, but it sounded a little different than she remembered.

Seira was confused by the words of her mother. The people of Kirigakure? She was only one girl, in some very large ruins. She spoke on her confusion, and her thoughts reeled. "What? How? They all died. . ."

"You are very much alive and you have the power of me within you." After the spirit spoke it's last words, it faded into the icy mist.

"How is this possible? You were just a wanderer. . .what power?" Seira had so many questions, so much she needed to ask, but it was too late. Just as she had come, she had vanished, making Seira question her sanity, but not without an emotional response. "You're not real!" Seira shouted into the abyss, and before she knew what she was doing, she formed a large icicle in her hand and threw it in the direction that the illusion had stood in.

Her eyes grew large and she was confused how she just did what she did. She knew a few ice ninjutsu, but none like that, that powerful. She had a profound thought; perhaps what had killed the people would restore the people, ice. She had a powerful connection to the ice, and now that she thought back she could not remember the origins of her mother before she met her husband.

Some things are unexplainable by nature, but that somehow doesn't make them any less real to those who experience it. Now it was her time, though, and she felt she could make a difference on the future. She felt empowered by the ice around her, despite the bad memories that it might have held. She did what felt natural and made many spikes of the water that ran nearby, and sent them showering beautifully into the distance. She felt her ancestors were with her, guiding her, and she undoubtedly had whatever power was spoken of.

After playing with the ice, learning more powerful ninjutsu than she had ever imagined in the element that felt so lovely to her, she left the ruins of Kirigakure. Her business there was finished, for now. She had unlocked her abilities and had been given a new purpose in this life; almost completely opposite what she came to do. Kirigakure held a special place in the heart of the kunoichi, but for now she needed to live a life of hustling where there was work, and friends, to be found. The icy caverns would someday be taken back over; time heals all wounds.
