Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Despite her show of putting a bet on Kouin to win, Shashu's feelings towards this fight were at best described as 'mixed'. On one hand she had little to no respect for the man representing her country, to the point that she had spent the majority of the trip here legitimately wishing Shinbatsu himself would take umbrage at his presence and smite him from the face of the earth. He was an eyesore, a living stain upon the village and the position she held so much respect for. It would please her greatly to see the fool ground into the dust here.

Yet, on the other hand, her loyalty to her village bade her to fervently hope that he would emerge victorious. Too much rode on such a simple sparring match for her to bring personal feelings into this. If he lost here it painted their village as weak, and accurate or not that would colour the perceptions of these people. Like it or not, he had to win.

If only the Fayth-cursed idiot hadn't made such a fool of himself, this wouldn't be such a big deal. If he had presented himself as a regular Shinobi it would have been fine, but he just had to brag and showboat. 'Badass leader' indeed.

Still, it wasn't as if her feelings on the matter had any impact on the actual battle. She couldn't intercede without making an even bigger incident unless this Amaya tried to actually kill him, and that left her to watch helplessly as the fool representing their country proceeded to get his ass handed to him by a brick wall. Amaya's sheer physical defenses were impressive all on their own; despite a seeming tactical advantage the few attacks that Kouin managed to land barely left a mark, and even that small amount was negated by her equally impressive regenerative capabilities. Just as with traditional martial combat the only way his 'perfect sword' was going to beat her 'perfect shield' was if he found some way around it, otherwise he was just going to beat himself senseless against it.

Kouin seemed to understand that at least, judging by the fact that he brought out a second path to combat the Stone shinobi, but showed no progress for it. It rankled at Shashu, her fingers itching while her mind ran through all the possible things she could try were she in the same position. That someone holding the position of ANBU Sennin should be caught so thoroughly by such a single-minded defense was downright shameful, and she was not the only one to notice it. Amaya herself, though unaware of his Sennin status, had also expected much more of 'Akashi', disappointment colouring her face as she claimed he was years too early to face her and requested he forfeit until he got stronger. The crowd loved it, jeering and shouting at the statement, though even with how much she hated him Shashu couldn't bring herself to laugh.

This...this is it? This is all you have? To be mocked so by a complete stranger...after all your posturing, this is your strength? How are you not shamed?!

It took every ounce of her composure to maintain her outward appearance against the tide of sheer loathing she felt at that moment, with every fiber of her being screaming for her to take the fool's life and end the embarrassment herself. Somehow she managed to keep herself in check, the casual facade intact. Only through her eyes did she allow herself to express that hatred, staring at Kouin with eyes so cold and dark as to rival the frozen wastes of Kiri itself. She knew he could feel her gaze, and the moment he met her eyes she mouthed a simple message: 'If you lose, I will kill you myself.'

Whether because of her or not Kouin seemed to pull himself back together, his spirits rising as he belted out yet another monologue about the virtues of a man who never gives up. He prepared himself once again with determination written prominently across his face, but Shashu was beyond caring. She leaned forward, eyes fixed on the combatants. All that mattered from here was whether or not he could dig deep enough to win.

Kouin was in a state of total clarity, his resolve was driving his will further and further. His spiraling eyes bore through the body of Amaya as he gazed at her chakra coils; he could see that she had been taking an increased consumption in chakra, he had come to realize that if wanted to win he would have to stop trying to attack her physically and instead go for her spiritual energy. Forming steady seals, he begun to raise the outer path: demonic statue. The statue's glowing red eyes tore through Amaya's body. His eyes could see parts of her spirit being ripped from her body, How does it feel having your chakra ripped from your body? Is it as excruciating as I would imagine? He goaded her, trying to rile a reaction out of her.

His eye shifted over to Narumi, the first of his "living weapons", he signaled her with a nod and that was when the real torture would begin. Her arm stretched out, a twister of chakra began to torrent outwards; the torrent blasted against the body of Amaya and her silly clone. As the torrent laid fire onto the stone-nin, he could feel his spiritual power being rejuvenated, Do you feel that? Your health may be boundless, but your spirit is finite; you think your spirit can overwhelm me? HA! You don't even come close; I am an indomitable spirit, I overwhelm my opponents by testament of spirit and will, the only one years behind is you. Narumi's hand rose to the sky, her eyes fixated on Amaya, her eyes glowed an eerie green as if they were boring holes through, Face my might. A single crack of lightning tore through the sky. The grey storm clouds above glowed a tinge of sky blue, much akin to how the Santaru's eyes glow. Pure beams of storm energy began to fill the sky above; pulling her arm back, the beams followed the flow of her hand, when she whips her hand forward, the beams locked onto Amaya's chakra signature and launched forward. The beams were especially infused with her chakra to make them strike her spirit. The beams struck through to their target; two struck through her knees, another shot through her hand. Two beams struck truest of all, one hit about an inch below the heart, and the final through her collarbone. Such a beautiful display, bountiful dancing blades whisking through the sky. Aren't they grand?

He had to maintain his clarity and focus. The rate at which he was attacking was decent, but he still had a large mountain to go over, but with this he had a chance, a hope of winning. His rinnegan stared down at her chakra coils, and he could see the final bits of her chakra leave her body, and a smile appeared over his face, Your chakra is out... You're limited to you options now... You were so worried about your health never descending you thought it nigh that I'd find a way to circumvent your life, but throughout life I find that when their is a will, there is way, and you're on your way out, so just forfeit; I'm a whole millennium ahead of you.

"Is that so... I'm impressed at how well you were able to adapt but it is far to early to preach that you've over come." raising to her feet with a smile, Amaya would begin to pace back and forth eyeing her opponents. Her gestures of twirling her blade and dead focus on the demonic statue, Akashi, and the woman held many similarities to that of a wolf stalking it's prey. Lurking in plan sight with intentions evident though not displayed on her face at all. She showed no signs of fatigue as she paced but this was only due to her being a seasoned shinobi, a master of the art of deception. Instead, her face and posture remained the same as it were when she first entered the area, full of pride and esteem. "You have depleted my chakra Akashi but... don't be a fool. The real fight has only just begun. Now let's get started shall we." Amaya would then start slowly pacing toward the group of them. Her blade dragged across the ground creating small embers from the steel kissing the passing stones. She approached without caution and without fear. She had taken Akashi's best Shots and was confident that what she faced before her was Akashi's Ace in the whole. She would continue to adapt to any more surprises as they arise but for now she had an opportunity to test her limits against someone who could take it or so it would seem. "Whatever you do Akashi... don't let up, stay sharp and on guard, stay just like that..."

~It was brought to my attention that Narumi was the path maintaining the Outer Path and not Kouin and going back to the PM, it was listed as Narumi and not Kouin who initially used it. The mod was affected and I do apologize for any confusion. [5/19/16]

BGM: The Endless Waltz to the Endless Fight

The ground beneath him quaked and shivered, but he wasn't going to allow that to shake his resolve; their sweat and blood painted the ground and wall. Neither of them were holding back. Both his lines of sight could see a big attack approaching. His temporal sight kicked in; he saw a vision of torrenting paper rush his way, and batter and beat his body. His body took no time to react, but Kouin's leg had locked up. The instant connection link between him and Narumi, communicated this fact instantly; shifting her body, Narumi threw Kouin behind the Outer Path statue. The torrent of paper approached very quickly, and he had to think of what exactly to do, and he was running out of time. With a subtle snap of his fingers, Narumi dropped a large bolt of lightning from the sky, and redirected it at the paper You'll have to do better than that to fell me!

The two jutsu made contact. The two exploded in a blast of raw power the likes the arena have doubtfully seen. The clashing forces favored his side; the slicing maelstrom of lightning should easily cut through the graceful, dancing paper, but the torrent proved to be stronger than he anticipated, but he couldn't do much in his position. Her eyes shifted over to Kouin, and they both gave a reassuring nod. Narumi braced her arms in front of her to deal with the impact. The paper ripped and tore at her skin, blood falling to the ground and screams filled the air. The jutsu was wider than she had expected and completely obliterated the statue, but luckily the main body was unharmed. Kouin stood to his feet, and with a resonating snap of his fingers, the damage that had just been dealt was negated and healed. A breath of relief left both of their mouths, but they weren't out of the woods yet.

They had an opportunity and an opening; Narumi's hands floored quickly in to a flurry of seals. The sky tore open, and winds began to pick up. Go forth my blades. Five celestial storm blades swirled around Narumi; her fingers would guide them to their target. With the extended fight both of their stamina had to be getting low, Regardless of what she said, there is no way this is taking it easy. His finger directed the first blade towards Amaya; the blades seemed to howl in the air as they spliced through the air between them, Striking true, the first struck through, You may... Have a slight edge.. He clenched his fist, and spat to the side, But every wall can be cracked, and every stone can be crushed. You are no different. This wasn't a battle for blood, for the gods, or even for himself. This was a battle of honor; honor from two countries. The two pinnacle fighters going head to head in a spar of the century. Neither was going to bow to the other; no matter how bleak of dismal the situation looked, that's just who they were as people. May the Endless Waltz continue...

A screaming current of lightening chased the harden kunoichi as she attempted to evade it's grasp but to no avail. A delicate grunt escaping her after impact. This was definitely not her element as the lightening style was her weakness. She struggled to gain bearing from the shock but managed in time to complete her seal. She had been attempting to manipulate the earth elements she found in the paper jutsu used against her and she had finally managed to do so. Sending a torrent back at the two large enough to engulfed the lot revealed more than she thought. The woman attempted to clash her jutsu in reaction to Amaya's assault causing an enormous explosion. The smoke clouded the area only to deceive as Amaya's assault continued it's assault to engulf whatever laid in it's path. Manipulating the flow, Amaya sent it's direction toward the woman who had taken cover behind the grotesque statue of theirs.

"Oh no you don't!"

Bending the flow of the paper, Amaya attempted to target her blind spot. With no way to avoid it, victory was assured however... even though she had made her mark, no damage was evident. This made things very clear to her. Much like herself he was not an ordinary opponent. He had a strange ability to negate the damage he received as well as his teammate, however... "Why is their team work so impeccable? No signaling is done by either of the two and yet their coordination is better than any team I have ever seen. Those eyes... could that be the key? And then their is Akashi... he is able to completely undo my efforts of damage to both of them but strangely he hasn't undone all the damage done. Could there be a limit or perhaps..." Amaya took to the shadows again. Her options dwindling and her life force wasn't infinite. She had an idea, something she would have to try. Risky yes, but at this point risk were a necessity. She took a deep breath and began to focus in order to gain a bit of her health that was sapped from using it to fuel jutsu. Not an easy practice and it was defiantly taking it's toll. She hated to admit it, but these two were giving her trouble and fighting her on equal footing together. "There is only two but they are so bothersome..."

Kouin was definitely on his last bursts of energy. Time was ironically running out, yet they seemed to be in a stalemate of sorts, and neither of them could break free from the loop that they were both trapped in. Dodging and hitting, healing and reverting. They were just playing the same game but with different chords, and that kind of combat gets dull quickly; her particular fighting style was much too defense for his liking, it seem placid to him. It had no flare of spark to it, but didn't care much about it, but her stratagem was quite good for fighting solo, though the impeccable team work of paths may be a bit overwhelming for some people at first, it's even sometimes enough to intimidate someone way, but she remained stalwart in her defenses.

Lightning emitted from his fist intensely, her and the ground would realize this was the finality of his attack. Either this was put an end to the spar, or she would somehow wake up and that would be that. One coin, two sides, fifty-fifty. Kouin was willing to take the chances with odds, time might be on his side in most cases, but he'd let the coin decided the outcome of this bout. A storm blade melded into Kouin's hand and unleashed a torrent of lightning outwards. He held the blade out in a forward slashing position, let's say next attack settles it? With a grin over his face; if he caught a sign of approval he would lunge forward and meet Amaya's strike with his own.

[Decided to call it a draw/Just post clashing and ending a tie/Topic left when Amaya leaves]

It was starting to happen. The lack of chakra and the severe strain that was put on her life force was beginning to take massive effect. She began to stumble and lose footing if only for a moment but that was all it took to lose a battle, a slight mishap, a failure to react, a long blink, all of these were but a moment and in a moment the tides of battle could shift. Her opponents seemed to weaver just a bit as well which was a sigh of relief for Amaya but unfortunately this relief was only for a moment. She watched as Akashi generated a sword out of his lighting element and prepared his resolve. Amaya would step out of the shadows and smile in acknowledgement to his words. As Amaya steadied her blade, she would point it directly at Akashi. She didn't begin to wonder why this whole time Akashi avoided close combat but know gambled a game with odds stacked against him. It was true, his lightening style completely outmatched her earth elemental affinity and so things balanced out again. No one opponent had the advantage over the other. No one opponent had greater resolve or determination than the other. The outcome of this simple sparring match was so black and white that it was unbearable to continue theorizing the lack of solutions to the one equation of who would continue standing after this, was the unstable sword mightier than that of the impenetrable shield? The answer was simple...

After the dust would settle from the destructive force of two shinobi spirits slamming into one another, there was no surprise held by Amaya that Akashi still was standing and so was she. She would blink soundly in a manner that displayed much of her stubborn pride and reluctance to bear this man a compliment in equal grounding. Sheathing her weapon she would walk toward Akashi as the dust settled at their feet. She would reach Akashi but her pace would not settle, her emerald green eyes striking his spiraled enigma. Walking passed him she would recite words uttered to her at one point in her life when a strong opponent acknowledged her for the first time.

"My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that abhors you and I? All that awaits you is a somber morrow, no matter where the winds may blow... my friend, your desire is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess. Even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forestall my return..."

With a wink, the dark haired woman was gone. Destruction in her wake...

The fighting ensued for quite sometime as they would continuously begin to clash and dash upon one another. Zo believed if they truly fought with all their might this would have a clear cut ending but Much to Zo's Surprise this ended with a Clash much like a Shonen battle. With both sides 'refusing' to give up and with the absence of a chance to default to regular character development you resort to that old school mentality of At least the Protagonist didnt lose... but you wish they would've because a tie was a sellout. There were no bragging rights for those who tied... But eh the digression was real. As Zo would nod and look over to Shashu she couldnt deny him and his golden gaze would marvel at who she was...

Just for a moment, mbut with that he'd burst into smoke leaving behind a small bonsai tree in the middle of the stands that would slowly submerge into the ground.

Whistling to himself, Umashi shook his head at the turn of events. He’d lock all of this away for future use and keep it in mind should anything ever go wrong. That being the case though, he had to give it to Amaya, she was tougher than he thought. His comic book friend though, he sure seemed to pack a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Taking something from both of their styles, he excused himself and got up to leave. There was still much work to be done.

Talk about comebacks. No sooner had Shashu made it clear that a loss would be met with a death sentence than Kouin stepped up his game, finally using his head for something other than bludgeoning himself to death for once. He was still spouting enough melodrama to start off his own daytime soap opera of course, but he was making headway. His Rinnegan was proving to be his saving grace in this battle, giving him access to the chakra sapping abilities of his second path and a summoned statue. Shashu paid special attention to that. She'd read up on the Rinnegan as a matter of course, but this was her first time seeing a statue of the Outer Path in person. It was...interesting.

That said, Kouin's comeback only succeeded in bringing him back to level terms. Both fighters were on the verge of keeling over any minute, one from chakra loss and the other from physical trauma. There would be no clear winner here regardless of which earned the title of victor; if this were in the field the winner would simply be whoever's friends arrived first. Otherwise they would both be useless for whatever tasks or missions they could have been assigned, leaving others to decide who 'won' the larger battle. The most either could hope for was a phyrric victory in such circumstances.

Regardless, in the end this was a sparring match, not a life or death battle, and while neither wanted to admit defeat they seemed to realize that. They squared off, summoning the last of their reserves for an all or nothing clash of will and power. Weapons raised, they charged at each other full force, and when the dust settled...it still ended in a draw.

Well. Talk about anticlimactic. Shashu found herself relieved, yet somewhat disappointed. Win or lose both outcomes had been at once attractive and undesirable, but a draw satisfied nothing for her. That was the thing about compromises though. Nobody was happy, but you couldn't really complain. At least I don't have to bother killing him. Yet.

Shashu paused in thought. Compromise though...that gives me an idea. She'd intended to see what information she could glean from the bookie she'd met earlier, but now a new opportunity presented itself. No one had expected this match to be a draw, and that meant a lot of failed bets. Lots of failed bets made for very happy bookies, and with some gentle nudging from an easygoing foreigner a happy bookie could be made into a happy drunk who spills lots of happy little secrets in the ears of any lucky little spiders who happen to hear them.

Shashu grinned. This was her first chance at a solid lead since she got here, and she had no intentions of passing it up. Before she made that move however, a familiar sensation stopped her in her tracks. Her skin crawled with the touch of someone's eyes, and she knew who they belonged to before she even met them with her own. He'd left his scent at the entryway after all.

Hyazo.
His eyes bored straight into hers, knowingly and with purpose. He'd recognized her even with the transformation, obviously, but how? What did he want? He held her gaze for a tense moment, teasing a slight flush from her before disappearing into a cloud of smoke and leaving some small tree behind. ...fucking edgelord. I'll...I'll deal with that later.

For now she put the captain out of her mind and focused on finding her bookie in the crowd. It was easy enough: all she had to do was follow the stream of disgruntled spectators right to the source.

"Hey there friend, I trust you've earned yourself a tidy sum from the fight there eh? Don't worry, no hard feelings here. A bet's a bet yeah?" She assured the man, her jovial foreigner act back in full swing. "What do you say we celebrate your newfound wealth with a drink? My treat. I'm sure we've both got a lot of stories to tell..."
