A day or so after returning from the forest of death, Sashin found himself summoned to Anbu headquarters once again. Dressed in full Anbu gear, he appeared exactly where he had previously. This time, however, the same Senior Anbu stood in waiting for his arrival. Immediately, he took a knee out of respect and bowed his head. Just like the last time, neither of them would share words. The Senior Anbu would once again approach him, extend a folded piece of paper in his hand out towards Sashin, and Sashin would swiftly take possession of it. Flicking it open, with one hand, he'd read the following. "Return to the village you met the tea shop owner and dig for more information about this man named Ryu Jakku. See if you can track him down, find a reason for what he may be doing, but do not engage him in any capacity. Simply collect intel." Glancing up towards his Senior Anbu, Sashin realized in that brief moment he had already left.

Taking in a deep breath, lighting based chakra began to crackle throughout his palm; setting the paper ablaze once again. As the ashes of it smoldered, he stepped upon them before heading out. His arrival at the villages gate had been arranged, and he was swiftly let loose back into the outside world. After several minutes, and a couple of miles traveled, he veered off into the woods. Once he realized the coast was clear, he removed his Anbu attire. Once again, he felt that it was best to simply arrive as he was, rather than in full Anbu gear. He didn't want to spook any of the locals, or let anyone in on Leaf Village's Anbu potentially being involved.

As he got back onto the road, he wondered how things would play out. Focusing on his task at hand, he continued his journey for several hours; watching as the sun began to dip below the horizon, he swiftly found himself back in the very same remote village he was at previously. As he walked the streets, the locals once again began to stare. Out of the corner of his eyes, he'd catch their glances and show little to no reaction. His size, and his magenta colored hair, also proved to be more than enough to make him stand out. "Everywhere I go, huh?" He thought, as he continued down the street. However, his eyes would shift towards what seemed to be a local pub. "Probably best I start there. The tea house probably would be a waste of time now." He thought, as he head towards the pub.

Approaching the large wooden double doors, he opened them before swiftly ducking his head low enough to enter. What he saw as he entered seemed like a scene out of a movie; dozens of patrons enjoying their food, having a drink, and just out right having a good time. With a smile on his face, he let loose a slight chuckle as a hosts approached him. "Oh may! Come on in. We have... we have some stools at the bar. I don't think we have a booth suitable for you though." The lady would tell him. "That'll do just fine." He said as politely as he could, as he walked towards the bar. As he approached it, he his eyes would shift towards several individuals who seemed to stop what they were doing to stare.

Ignoring this, he quickly pulled out a stool and sat down. As the bartender approached, Sashin would order a beer or two and some food. The journey here had been a little tiresome, so a meal and some drinks would hit the spot. Within minutes though he noticed that his presence had been already forgotten, as the pub seemed to come alive once more. It seemed if those around him were celebrating, but instead of drawing more attention to himself, he simply sat and waited with his ears tuned in to the conversations around him. "You did a find job today rookie!" He heard from the side, faintly, as his eyes shifted towards a group of women across the bar from him. "Can you believe that jerk says he's not ready for marriage." He heard from them, as his eyes widened briefly. "Everyone's just off in their own world." He thought, as the bartender slid a forty ounce glass of ice cold beer in front of him.

His eyes lit up, as he reached for it. Upon grabbing the handle, a small waitress delivered his food from his side; she was small enough for him to hardly catch a glimpse of her, but the burger and fries in front of him honestly grabbed most of his attention. "Thank you!" He said, as he slightly turned towards her. Turning his focus towards the food in front of him, he pulled the glass of beer to his lips and began to drink. "Whats up with that pink haired giant?" He heard, as he slowly placed his beer back to the table. His senses seemed heightened, as he realized someone was focusing on him. Trying to play it off, he began to eat some of the fries first. "I think I saw him around last week." Another patron whispered, just barely loud enough for him to hear. "Oh yeah, he visited that tea house last time he was here, didn't he?" He heard, as he continued to eat.

"Lets just hope that shop owner didn't mention anything." He thought to himself, mentally preparing for what could happen. Still, he continued to eat while every so often sipping his beer. For some time, this would go on and on as he finished his first beer and signaled the bartender for another. After it arrived, so did someone else from the bar. "Hey stranger, what brings you back around?" They asked, as he turned his head towards this person who took it upon themselves to sit beside him. Gulping down some more of his second beer, he placed the glass down. "So you've seen me around before? Well, this time's the same as last. I'm just looking for work, and I got hungry. When I saw this place I figured I might as well grab a bite and a few beers." He told the curious man as he reached for his burger; lettuce, tomato's, onions, beef patties, and cheese. A classic cheese burger.

Grabbing it, he took a bite as the man started talking again. "What kind of work? I might know someone who could use a big fella like you." The man stated while watching Sashin eat. After chewing a bite of food, he replied. "Well, I'm a mercenary but I don't mind doing some farm work if that's all I can find." He told the man with a curious expression on his face.

"You won't find much farm work around here, but a friend of mine is in need of a mercenary." The man told Sashin, before asking. "You interested?" He asked, right before Sashin took another bite of his food. "Yeah, I am. But what kind of mercenary work are we talking about? Cause i'm not about to kill a kid or anything like that." He asked, while he continued to eat. The guy had a shocked look on his face, but he quickly brushed it off. "Oh, it's nothing like that at all." He stated, before standing up and pulling out a small piece of paper and a pen. Sashin's eyes shifted, as he watched him write out some directions and slid them over to him. "Go there tomorrow night, and meet with a man named Toko. Tell him Shin sent you." He told Sashin, before knocking on the bar table, standing up, and going back to whatever he was previously doing.

"This seems to easy." Sashin thought, as he raised his hand at the bartender. "Either their desperate for help, or someone's on to me." He thought, as he watched the bartender pour his beer and bring it over to him. "Word of advice, those guys are up to no good." The Barkeep whispered to Sashin, as he placed down the beer. "Hmmm. Noted." Sashin softly replied. "This guy knows something." He realized, as he refocused on his plate of food. Reaching out to grab his third beer, he began to formulate a plan. With his other hand, he grabbed the piece of paper the other guy had slid over to him and placed it within his pocket.

Sashin knew what he had to do. He was gonna follow through, obviously, and meet this Toko guy tomorrow night. However, he wanted to question this bartender and find out everything he may or may not know. "Looks like I'll have to pull out my Anbu gear." He realized, as he finished his meal, drank his bear, and quietly left. Several hours later, long after all the civilians had left and the bar had closed, Sashin stood in the shadows upon the roof of the bar. Dressed in full Anbu attire, his dark green shroud helped him blend in to the roof top. His eyes stayed focused on the main entrance of the building; it had been well over an hour since the last civilian had left, and the streets of this small town had grown empty and quiet.

One light remained on within this bar, which meant at least one person, if not a few, had remained. Jumping down to the side of the bar, Sashin immediately placed his foot upon the ground and waited while he began to sense the tremors. "Two." He said softly, as he began to walk around to the back of the bar. Stopping before he turned around from the side of the bar, he sensed one of the two leaving out the back in the opposite direction as him. Giving it a second, once he sensed the other person was gone, he turned the corner and headed for the back door; it was locked. Putting his hand upon the doors knob, Sashin shifted his weight and pushed down upon it. He could fill the knob bending, as the lock began to shift in the door frame. Sashin's size and strength was simple breaking it alone.

With a quick turn, the knob broke and the door came open. "Simple doors, simple solutions." He thought to himself, as he walked in. After a few seconds, he heard the sound of someone standing up from a chair, and opening a door within the backroom of the bar. Glancing in that direct, he watched as a door open and almost immediately, Sashin drew a kunai and leaped forward. As the person breached the door way, Sashin plaxed his kunai to his throat as he came into full view. It was the bartender from earlier; the man Sashin had been waiting on. "An Anbu...." The man replied, with fear in his eyes. "Earlier today, there was a huge man and a local chatting at the bar. The local handed him a piece of paper, and you whispered that that local was up to no good. What exactly do you know?" Sashin questioned the man, made eye contact.

"Please I don't..." He stated, as Sashin cut him off. "I have no problem killing you. Don't lie to me." Threatened Sashin. For a moment, the bartender seemed speechless but Sashin was dead serious. "Look, that guys not a local. He and a bunch of others came from somewhere else and once they showed up things just started happening." He told Sashin. "Like what?" He asked, pushing the kunai closer to the mans throat. "Hey, take it easy... even I've been affected by it. My food and drink orders come in late or sometimes not at all. Other business owners are losing merchandise, or their orders are coming in late and spoiled. Then these guys are making us pay so that our goods even show up from time to time." He told Sashin, as he raised his hands in defense.

"So, the towns merchants are being extorted. Hmmm, crime for profit. Classic." He said to himself, as he looked back towards the man. "You never saw me. You'll remember nothing about our conversation here, or anything that happened tonight at the bar either, or i'll come back." Sashin said, he he lowered his kunai and walked backwards into the shadows of the bars backroom.

After interrogating the Bartender, Sashin realized that there wasn't much else left to do. He thought about going ahead and reporting back to the Village about his mission, but the idea of following through and meeting this man named Toko seemed interesting. He knew it would give him more insight on things going on in the area, or at least he felt like it would. Pulling the note out of his pocket, he read it and decided to go ahead and stake out the area it had directed him towards.

Heading away from the village, roughly about thirty minutes away, he found what seemed like an old pathway off the main route. Clearly, this old pathway had seen some usage as of late; it seemed more worn than it should be, and the ground had what seemed like recent depressions. "Are some of the caravans heading off the route here?" He questioned, as he took to the woods beside the path. Slowly, in the dead of the night, he crept through the woods; with his focus directed towards both the pathway and anything in front of him. After another half hour or so, he came to what looked like a clearing near the side of a hill. Staying in the tree lines, so that he may remain hidden, he scoped the area out. From his position, he could see what looked like a cave in the hillside and a faint light from the depths of it.

The opening of the cave seemed rather large, and could easily fit a large merchant caravan within it. "Hmm. Looks like the perfectly place to drive one of them into. But how are they keeping the drivers quite about something like this?" He questioned himself, as he slightly stomped one foot onto the ground activating his tremor sense, while briefly closing his eyes. The vibrations from his stomp shot out into the ground, echoing out an unnoticeable ripple throughout the area. These ripples played back in his mind, forming a black and white imagine allowing him to sense the area.

His Tremor Sense Technique. With it, he discovered several men camped within the cave and structures that some what seemed like a make shift loading dock. "Yep, that's what's happening here." He thought, as he opened his eyes and focused his chakra into the soles of his feet. Using this, he quietly began to walk up the side of a tree and sit amongst it's branches. Here, he's spend the rest of the night monitoring the place. Come sunrise, he'd climb down and head back down towards the main road while remaining deep enough in the woods not to be noticed.

There, he'd wait and rest for a little while before catching a glimpse of a caravan turning onto the pathway. "I see.. are they just submitting to these guys and staying quiet?" He wondered, as he watched it continue down the pathway. Sashin had seen enough to understand. "Surely this isn't the only spot they're doing this. I bet they probably have a few more areas like this throughout the countries main shipment routes." He told himself, as he simply began to walk away.

He had a few hours to kill, so he walked deeper into the woods, away from the meeting spots, and rested for the rest of the day. After getting some sleep, eating some of his supplies, and waiting for time to pass, he eventually found himself back at the pathway he had watched a caravan go down earlier that morning. With the paper in hand, and his Anbu gear no where in site, he openly walked down it this time. Upon reaching the clearing, the sun had yet to set. Walking towards the cave opening, he heard someone shout at him before coming out from the depths of the cave. "Who the hell are you?" They asked, as Sashin stood still. "I'm just a Mercenary. Some guy named Shin sent me to meet a guy named Toko. He said I could find some work here." Replied Sashin, as he waited.

"Ahh. Yeah, I was told we might have a new guy coming. Didn't expect a giant. I'm Toko, but what's you're name?" The guy asked him. Without hesitating, Sashin replied. "I'm Sashin. I'd say it's nice to meet you, but this place is kind of odd. What type of work could I possibly do here?" He asked in reply. "Guard duty. We got some people coming to buy some supplies and we need some back up just in case someone follows them or we have uninvited guests. All you gotta do is look intimidating, and be willing to fight if things go south. Any good with a Sword?" Toko told and asked Sashin. "Swords suck, I prefer hammers." Replied Sashin, as a puff of smoke appeared beside him. As it cleared out, a large Warhammer appeared. Grabbing it, he slung it over his shoulder. "Sounds easy enough though." He said, confidentially.

The man named Toko took note of Sashin's physical size, and witnessed how effortlessly he picked up and slung a large hammer of his shoulder. Shocked, slightly, the man nodded. "Good, well come on in and get yourself comfortable. There's a few more hours till our guest arrive." Toko explained, as he turned around and walked back into the cave. Sashin would swiftly follow, remaining silent as he and Toko both walked into the cave. Upon reaching the depths, Sashin noticed three other men each with weapons just lazing about in various places. One was rested on what appeared to be the dock he sensed earlier, while two others were sitting at a table playing cards. Toko would continue up the dock, towards a bunch of barrels and boxes that seemed to be filled with food and various other items. "Keep yourself busy but be ready." He told Sashin, as Sashin veered off to find a place to sit.

After finding a seat, he watched as the others continued about their busy while Toko seemed to be taking inventory of all the goods he had collected on the dock. "So this guy hired a bunch of mercenaries to basically guard this stuff and probably to prevent whoever's coming from just taking it." He concluded, while remaining silent and to himself. As he sat here, he reframed from speaking to the others and just kept to himself as time passed. Before long, Toko stood at the edge of the loading dock and called out to them. "Alright fellas, come up to the dock and stand behind me. It sounds like they're coming." Sashin head, as he stood up, grabbed his hammer and flung it over one shoulder. Walking up to the dock, he hopped onto it and positioned himself behind toko, but in somewhat of a line with the other three guys.

After a few minutes, a Caravan pulled up to the loading dock within the cave and five men stepped out. "Now that's a haul." One of the men said, as he climbed onto the loading dock and approached Toko. Sashin began to glare at the man, wondering who this guy was. "Yep, and gathering it wasn't easy." Said Toko. "What, the merchants you're stealing from are starting to become resistant towards your genjutsu or something?" He asked with a smart ass tone. "No, not at all. It's just that gathering this much is bound to bring suspicion. You're trying to grow this operation to fast, Jakku." Toko said, as the other man walked up the stairs to the loading dock and towards the merchandise. Sashins would glance at them, and make note of the odd tattoos they seemed to have.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. You let me worry about that, you just keep doing your job." Jakku said, as he pulled out a scroll and handed it to Toko. "Your payments in there, as usual. Just make sure next weeks shipments are about the same size." He told Toko, as his guys began to load the cargo. "At this rate, someone's bound to come snooping. I've even had to hire a new guard." He said, nodding his head in Sashin's direction. "I want wondering who that big bastard with the hammer was." Said Jakku, as he looked Sashin up and down.

Side stepping Toko, Jakku then approached Sashin to get a closer look. "You some kind of ex shinobi or just some giant who picked up a hammer one day and started swinging it?" He asked Sashin, as Sashin refocused on Jakku. "Care to find out?" Sashin asked, in a serious tone as lightning began to channel throughout his hammer, sparking ever so slightly. Jakku then began to chuckle, as he turned towards Toko. "This one's got some spunk to him." He stated, as he walked back towards the caravan. "Hurry up guys, load this shit so we can leave." He shouted, as he climbed back in and waited.

Sashin, Toko, and the other three guards would wait for Jakku's men to load their caravan and leave. Shortly after, Toko would approach the other guards, hand them a scroll and they would leave, before Toko headed over towards Sashin with one as well. "This is a summoning scroll. Your payments within it. I'll need you back here in a week, and I'll need you to keep quiet about all of this. So long as things go smoothly, we'll all be making a buttload of money off this." He told Sashin, as he held out the scroll. Reaching out to grab it, he nodded, took the scroll and headed off the dock and out the cave.

"So some guys rob some merchants, collect a shipment of goods, and sell them off to Jakku and his men. All while placing the drivers under Genjutsu so they don't know whats happening. Still don't know why they're doing it, but I understand how now. I need to report this." He thought, as he walked down the pathway.
