Leaving the Torre Celeste with a scroll in hand, Doi made way for his home to prepare. The scroll he held contained the details for his next mission. It appeared to be a simple interrogation mission at first sight, but that couldn't have been the case since it was classified as a B-Rank. Nevertheless, Doi was excited and couldn't wait to set out on his own little adventure inside the village boundaries. It'd also be the highest ranking mission he'd taken part in to date.
Now at his home in the village's residential area, Doi scoured his messy room in search of everything he would be bringing along on this assignment. The mission required that he wear casual clothing in order to blend in with civilians, so he'd be wearing his new hoodie, a pair of black jeans, and some sneakers. In the pocket of his hoodie would be the scroll he used to seal his chokuto. The blade would be too long to conceal any other way. Once he was ready, Doi left his home and made way for Kumo's economic epicenter: the Susukino district.
oOoIt was late afternoon, and the streets of the Susukino were as busy as ever. Shop owners coercing passer bys into entering their stores. Bright neon signs flashing a multitude of different colors. Hundreds of people chattering amongst one another. The smells of different foods combining into one unique smell. This was how the Susukino district always was. Or at least, this was what the area around Kumo's village square, Dawnbringer plaza, was like.
Doi would have to hang around here for a while. He wasn't supposed to interact with any criminals before it got dark. Though, it wasn't like they would be out in the open during this time for everyone to see. They were more than likely trying to blend in with the normal crowd. The muscular man he'd just walked by could've been a member of PYRAMID for all he knew. Smelling the delicious aroma of dumplings, Doi figured he would dine at a near by restaurant until it was time for him to begin. He walked into the place, sat down at a table, and ordered his food. "5 Nikumen dumplings, please." he said to the server. "Coming right up!" the young woman replied.
Now outside of the restaurant, after having eaten and paid his tab, Doi lifted his hoodie over his head and with one hand performed the handseals for the basic transformation jutsu. His hair turned to a pitch black color, his eyes a dark brown, and he appeared to age slightly and grow about 8 inches; now standing at 6 foot 3 . The reasoning for him not altering his facial appearance much was the possibility that he could've been discovered made himself look too different Things like a change in hair, eye color, and height were easy to pull off. Once the transformation jutsu had settled in, Doi began walking in the direction of the district's outskirts.
The boy passed a multitude different business dedicated to adult entertainment. Kumogakure's bars, casinos, brothels... this was where you could find it all. It certainly wasn't a place for a kid to be walking around, but Doi was no normal kid. He was more than qualified to handle any potential dangers. It also helped that he looked like an adult at the moment. For now he would focus on gaining intel from anyone he felt would be willing to share. Doi entered the closest store and approached the cashier.
"Hello, mind if I ask you a couple questions?" Doi asked.
"That depends on what you want to know kid." replied the elderly man at the register.
"What do you know about PYRAMID?"
"Ah... those guys? I've been hearing a lot about them lately. Everyone's talking about them."
"Mind telling me where I could find a member?
The man at the register huffed before replying. "There's a couple of tough looking guys that meet up down by the brothel. They don't look like criminals, but something feels off about them. That's all I got, kid."
"Thanks a lot." Doi said before leaving the store and taking off in the direction that the man said.
"Hey, who's this guy?" asked one of the men as he noticed Doi approaching. "I'd like to know that too," replied another.
"What do you all know about PYRAMID?" Doi asked seriously.
"Woah there kid, what business would you have with PYRAMID? You got death wish or something?"said the one that appeared to be their leader."Get out of here before you get hurt." The leader was now brandishing a crow bar. Where he'd gotten it from, Doi had no idea. The rest of the men now also brandishing similar weapons.
Doi had made quick work of the armed men. They really stood no chance against Doi when he could use jutsu and all they had was a few crow bars and pipes. The genin had actually gotten one of them to tell him some vital information. It appears the big shots of PYRAMID were planning to hold a meeting to discuss future plans in about a week. Doi would make sure to inform the authorities.
