The sense of duty, pursuit of legacy, and selflessness pushed Dai to join Konoha's shinobi force. Despite spending most of his adult life as a Konoha shinobi, he had yet to feel like his time was invested in a meaningful way. What was his greater purpose? Where would he find it? Times were relatively peaceful, which lead to mediocre missions. Despite his very successful rate of completion, Dai did not feel challenged. He seldomly had the opportunity to limit test himself. If Konoha were to be invaded by a foreign nation, would Dai be powerful enough to assist in the resistance? Would he brave enough to face any enemy ninja?
These questions haunted him.
They also pushed him to the Hokage Mansion. He wasn't sure who he exactly needed to speak to. However, he knew one thing. If he were to discover whether or not he was capable of standing up to dangerous shinobi, he needed to look them in the eyes first. Doing so among foreign shinobi was probably not the best idea. However, there was a way he could do it which may benefit the village.
He wanted to do a job that was typically reserved for the ANBU. In order to do so, he needed special permission.
Dai was taller than the average citizen of the Fire Nation. He was often recognized because of his height. This lead to several members of the staff greeting him as he entered. The weight of the mission he was in pursuit of weighed on him. He wasn't his confident self. He was a bit nervous. He wasn't sure what he would do if his request was denied.
Eventually, Dai would make it to the receptionist and request a meeting with any member of the leadership available.
