Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Core Ability: Steadfast [ Link ]

Link to Proflie: [ Link ]

Great Fortitude: 3 Points
Restriction- C Rank and up
A Steadfast that learns this has mastered their ability to take hits without injury, making their bodies almost impossibly strong. It takes quite a bit to make them actually feel an attack, and even then you might not illicit a reaction.
Effect: Ignores damage each round. How much is reduced is based on your character level, this skill reduces 75 Damage per level each round.

Human Shield - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- Requires Body Switch
A Steadfast is excellent at taking blows, but not everybody else is. Using their natural ability to soak damage an extension of the Kawarimi (Body Switch) jutsu, a Stalwart can leap in front of an ally and take attacks for them, perhaps preventing them from being harmed.
Effect: The Steadfast can switch places with an ally that is attacked at a cost of 0.5 AP (they cannot switch places with an ally when they are being attacked). Allies that are aware of this ability and can Body Switch with real clones can designate the Steadfast as a target; if the Steadfast is unwilling to switch, then the jutsu automatically fails. The triggering attack is resolved against the Steadfast instead, who can attempt to dodge it normally.

Awesome Power - Modification (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up, Requires Hidden Power
A Steadfast ninja with the ability to bring forth a deep seeded power within them will often test that power, pushing to themselves to the limits at all times until they have mastered those reserved abilities. When they are pushed again, you can expect the backlash to be severe.
Effect: The user gains +1 to their Secondary stats rather than +.5. This caps at +4 to their secondaries.

Will be getting Hidden Power here shortly

Undying Warrior - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- B Rank and up
This powerful skill is the penultimate technique that any Steadfast ninja could learn, allowing them to increase their resolve to a level that defies imagination. By focusing all of their attention, energy, and willpower on one target, the Steadfast ninja is able to stave off even death until that enemy is laid to rest. This is best used when they are in desperate straights, as a final act of will.
Effect: When the Steadfast ninja starts their turn unconscious due to having 0 HP or lower (but no lower than -50% of their Max HP), they may choose to revive and act again. They receive +2 to Accuracy on all attacks against the opponent that felled them. If their HP drops below -50% of their Max HP, they fall unconscious again and cannot use this technique unless their HP rises above this value. They lose 1500 CP at the end of every round they act while having less than 0 HP (if they run out of CP, this is taken from their HP), and this technique can be used for a total of three rounds in a battle.

Resilience - Boost (1 point) 3 Points
Restriction- Can be purchased up to three times
Steadfast ninja push the limits of the human body, ignoring pain and pushing on to absorbing more damage than their heartiest allies. This helps them to defend their allies as long as possible by extending the time they can remain fighting.
Effect: +2 HP modifier

Reciprocate - Jutsu (1 point, 1 point to rank up) 2 points
Restriction- A-Rank and up
This deadly jutsu unique to the Steadfast taps into the muscle memory of their body, taking the pain that they've suffered and turning it against an opponent. With a solid hit from their palm, the Steadfast transfers all of their pain and injury into the enemy’s body, sometimes with interest.
Rank 1: Deals all of the damage dealt to the Steadfast in the past two rounds (including damage that was negated), at +1 Accuracy
Rank 2: Deals all of the damage dealt to the Steadfast in the past three rounds (including damage that was negated), at +2 Accuracy

Cost: 3 AP, Costs Cp equal to 50% of the damage Dealt

Notes:
- Usable at any time; does not require to be declared 2-3 rounds beforehand. Max damage is at 6800. This cannot be buffed. Uses melee accuracy.

Second Wind - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
Just when enemies think they've got the Steadfast one down, when they've hit their limits and can’t fight any harder, that’s when it’s time to use the Second Wind. Due to training, those with Steadfast have amplified their natural ability to recover to extraordinary levels.
Effect: The user regains 20% max HP, and cancels all Bleeding. This is usable only once per combat.

Indomitable Spirit - Passive (3 points)
Through raw training and persistence, the Steadfast ninja has a will stronger than their body. No matter what torturous pain they may be going through, they can overcome and fight on.
Effect: The user ignores one point of debuff from any and all sources (so a Blinding Flash that causes a -3 to Accuracy and Dodge only causes a -2 to the user). In addition, they are not influenced by any fear effects.

Healing Factor:

As a young boy; Ryu thought nothing of the miraculous recovery rate he seemed to possess, able to spring back from just about anything be it an injury or a particularly rough session of training. Nothing really kept him down and recovering for long. As a teen though, while his father started to push him harder and harder, the training getting more brutal and pushing Ryu to his physical limits and usually beyond; he started to wonder just how it was that he was able to recoup so quickly and be able to resume the brutal training sessions in a day rather than up to a week that most would have had to. "Just weak human flesh, boy. Nothing special about it, but it's in your genes to overcome the pain. Just something you got from your mother, since she always seemed to bounce back from what would keep others down for months on end." The man's wistful smile at the thought made Ryu almost wish he could have met her, then realized quickly that by all accounts his training would probably be worse if she was the one training him rather than his father. "Well, no standing around, since you're feeling so energized hows about we train extra hard then?! BAHAHAHAHAHA!" And...maybe one of these days Ryu would learn to keep his mouth shut.

Bull's Strength:

Unfortunately, Ryu had made the mistake of once again opening his mouth and asking if he would ever be strong enough to move boulders; a fantasy vision that all children had while reading about fictional characters with tremendous strength. Sadly, his father took it to heart and started making that fantasy a reality. "Boy, you have a good idea! A man must be measured not just in his will but his strength as well! Since you seem interested, we'll make it into reality! BAHAHAHAHA!" Sure enough, the very next morning Ryu woke up to find himself in a rocky stretch of the country just outside the gates where a nice variety of boulders could be found in all shapes and sizes. Damn it, he really needed to be smarter about his questions. "Well? What are you doing sitting around boy? Get to work!" His father roared at him while walking by bearing a massive rock on his back that was easily double the size of the boy and more than double his weight. Ryu could see that the man's muscles were strained to the maximum and sweat was pouring off his father in massive drops; looked like today was going to suck, but not as bad as the next couple would. Knowing better than to argue, Ryu trotted about and found a small boulder that he could hoist and carry about, trying to chase his father as best as possible. "Hoo! My boy, you do come up with good ideas, what a great way to train! I think I'll work this into the usual routine as well!" His father seemed to always be happiest when tormenting Ryu with off the wall ways of training. As natural course, Ryu found himself hauling bigger and bigger rocks at his father's urging, and for some reason there was a noted improvement in his ability to carry around the boulders the more time they spent training. Months of this would go by, and eventually the boy found himself carrying nearly the same size boulder that he had seen his father toting when all this madness first started; results aside, Ryu made a mental note to quit talking nearly so much...

Hidden Power:

The particular brand of training Ryu's father believed in was the kind that drove a person to their physical limits and well beyond them; one had to have an immense will to live to keep going, few do really possess the potential to keep going despite being about dead on their feet, and Ryu was unfortunate enough to be one of such few. And one would think that a man would go easy on his only son, but instead he pushed the boy harder than he would have with any other pupil he could have taken. It was, in proper form, just a sparring match; however the odds were stacked high against the boy since his father was a veteran. The terms of ending the session was the inability to stand up; there was no admission of defeat or signal that the match was over beyond that, so the two fought for hours on end with the man pushing aside his son's blow as though swatting a fly, or simply turning a blow back onto the boy with a twist of momentum. As a result, Ryu wound up more battered and exhausted than his father who seemed to only be on the defense; it was still long odds since the man seemed completely untouched to boot. Granted, anytime he rested too long, the man would move in for offense creating a false opening that the boy would attempt to take and the uphill physical struggle began all over again; this lasted until Ryu started to become disorientated, unable to stand up straight even while he tried to push himself to hit harder and faster. The weaker he felt and the more dead his limbs became, the harder Ryu tried to push himself to stay on his feet; determination keeping him moving for the time being. But hours into the brutal lesson, Ryu couldn't remember several lapses of time that his body continued functioning while his mind checked out. Eventually he properly came to and he was sitting on their small patio holding a jug of water between his hands with no recollection of how he'd come to be there. "Still have a long way to go, boy, but we'll make a fine man out of you yet. One that gets stronger as the situation gets more dire. Just have to get that weakness out of ya. BAHAHAHAHAHA!" He clapped his son on the shoulder, and sent the boy sprawling to the dirt while still chortling. Ryu wondered if he'd even survive that long, laying face down in the dirt with a rather disgruntled look on his face....

Willpower:

A measure of a man was not just in the strength of his body, but his will. It was a favorite saying of his father's that the man loved to flip around as he pleased; and as natural course, Ryu was subjected to a strange way to train something that was completely intangible and should have been untouchable. But still his father managed to find away to create a special kind of hell when he came staggering home with a kunoichi friend he'd made. "My boy! I've managed to find a genjutsu specialist! Now we can truly bring the strength of our wills to the test against a fine woman! Erh, I mean her skills, don't look at me in that tone of voice you whelp. Bahahahaha...." He looked a lot less confident about that normally boisterous laugh when Ryu simply glowered; he had stopped saying quite so many words to people since the last mishap with asking questions had him lugging rocks around and still DID have him hauling massive objects that two or three people should have been carrying. The woman cocked an eyebrow at Ryu and the young man mirrored the expression right back at her, they were both unsure of how this would even turn out. "Well! Let's get to it shall we!" His father tromped out to the training yard happily, his massive bulk having more of a shamble to it these days than the powerful stroll Ryu was so used to seeing; and yet he still didn't argue about being subjected to more cockamamie nonsense. "So, we'll just have her toss Genjutsu on us until we are either able to break out of them or just wind up so stuck we can't even think straight!" Oh, right, because this was just going to go SO well. Ryu only face-palmed and motioned for the training to get underway; except that he looked down and found himself stuck in a tree up to his armpits without even realizing it. Oh holy shit!

He looked over and saw his father was stuck just the same as well, but the elder man had his eyes closed and a look of concentration on his face. A look back to the woman got him a strained, tense, and sharp face focused wholly on his father; she was pouring everything she had to keep his nut case of a father contained! Oh hell no! Ryu stopped struggling physically against the tree and did as his father did; which seemed to squeeze a gasp of frustration and a few choice words out of the woman. Before he could really make any headway in trying to figure a way out of the jutsu, the boy found himself weightless and as though the world were spinning around him before his body felt so heavy that it was nearly impossible to breathe. Apparently she really only wanted to focus on one person at a time, and decided that it was more trouble to have two struggling than one; which Ryu found highly irritating for some reason, as though being dismissed as though he were nothing was an insult. He focused harder, took a breath, and thought very carefully about what was going on; the result was that the crushing weight seemed to go away, a few more seconds and the world stopped spinning around his senses. He still felt weightless though, but as he opened his eyes the woman was staring into his eyes so hard he thought her gaze was going to bore a hole right through the back of his head, her mouth set into a silent snarl that apparently matched his own from the feel of his face. His father simply stood of the the side watching with amused interest. Which got his goat. It really ticked him off. His fury sharpened and he suddenly wasn't trapped in the tree anymore, before he could really stop himself he was across the yard and decked his father in the stomach. Maybe it was the sudden motion of it, or perhaps old age getting to the man, but his father let out a startled noise as he was tossed backwards to land on his rear. The woman wobbled, looking rather stunned at the two of them who had glared at one another for a few moments before bursting out into belly laughter. "There's something wrong with these two..." All she could do was really shake her head. It was revealed later that the young man's father had rigged the entire thing, the woman was in on it to make it look like her focus was on the older man but layer Ryu with the hardest, most disorientating jutsu she had the result of the ploy was unexpected but when his father apparently posed the training proposition again the woman punch him in the nuts and stormed off...

Shinobi 101 (Unarmed/Piercing):

After the traumatic experience of having a foreign entity make itself at home in his own body, leaving one of his limbs warped and demonic looking, Ryu had to learn and adapt how to use the limb in combat again. While he would use the old training yard that he used to be exposed to ridiculous training sessions, the man trained in his own way, taking some of what he learned from his father and his one honed experience to learn the weight of the claws attached to the heavy left limb. He couldn't quite fully close the stony hand into a fist but he could use conical talons to puncture objects with surprising ease. The thick joints were fairly solid as well, he could adapt a punch into just a blow from the partially curled knuckles or he could use his right hand then flow into a piercing blow; it took him nearly a year to get used to the limb that the creature had changed, but he managed it well enough in his own right. After all, it was part of his body at this point despite his dislike of it, no sense in letting his dislike of something become a weakness.

Weapon Mastery (Unarmed):

Yet another part of his father's philosophy, is that men could make many tools and have them be extensions of themselves, true masters able to wield the tools as though they were simply part of their body; well true men were masters of their own bodies, and could use what they were born with to their full potential! You could take a way a man's sword easily enough, but you had to sever his hand from his body to remove it, after all. And, of course, there was no way to go about things normally, not with Ryu's father that would be asking too much. Ryu had to not only fight in the center of four training dummies with spinning arms but also had to deal with his FATHER adding to the momentum of the damn things or trying to hit him with something. The result was plenty of bruises, a couple fractures, cuts, abrasions, and lots of angst. This type of training continued and became yet another 'usual' routine in their unusual regimen and eventually the young man got good enough to cut down on the injuries to maybe a couple bruises and cuts but a true mastery of the unarmed arts would still take years yet, he would, strangely enough still train his skills in his own uniquely extreme way but not nearly so intense as he first had to experience it. He didn't consider himself a master, not by a long shot, but from observed skill he could say that he was heading in the right direction.

Conservative Motion:

After Ryu's father passed away, the zany methods of training went away and were replaced with slow precision of one person straining to keep their body in top form. Ryu took all he had learned through the years and applied a torture of his own, he devised a way to keep his muscles balanced with the strength and flexibility required of his position as a Jounin. Slow, full extension contortions were his method of training, going through various fighting stances that he had picked up and blended into one form of his own; straining against his own body's weight against gravity or even the tension in his own body as he slowly circled a spot on the ground. It was excruciating, feeling all of his muscle fibers stretched to nearly their tearing point and holding them there and never letting off the entire session for the morning or evening; the dull ache always subsided quickly as he moved about normally, his range of motion remained fairly normal, his muscles strong and limber, and he also learned how to conserve energy for the smallest effort to get the maximum effect out of his body. A little pain and effort really did seem to go quite a long ways in this world...

Thick Blood:

Not really surprising, that all the borderline abuse that Ryu took over the years altered his body. Simple medical evaluations of the village were tedious even before he had to hide his arm from others, it was hard to sit still when the nurses had to jab and prod him constantly to not only get the needle through his skin but to find a vein, and THEN have to get his blood flowing to take any for a test. According to much of the results, his blood's ability to clot also stemmed from the natural rate at which he healed, since just as soon as the needle or other instrument that was trying to open him up went away his skin was knitting back together. In a way, Ryu appreciated the insane ways of training his father had come up with, the results were being shown decades later in the tall pillar of quiet strength that Ryu had become.

Applying Augments to Fist & Talon

Vampiric

Chakra Drain

Ignition

Activating Ability: Barrier Mastery

Ryu spent hours in the Petrified Redwoods, and the art of offensive Ninjutsu was difficult to be sure; especially the repeated and constant practice of it. But It was more difficult to practice the use of defensive jutsu as there was no one to train these techniques with. He settled for making a clone of himself and having it throw as much force as it could against him; it was taxing for sure, but the towering man supposed that it worked out in the end.

A blast of searing energy would be countered by a sudden wall of flames that the energy just couldn't seem to penetrate, a gout of fire deflected by a swirling, reddish and dazzling shield, a fist that was countered with a sudden burst of scorching air that..well...demolished his training partner by accident. He was undeterred however, repeating these performances until the day ended or he ran out of chakra, which ever came first. It's often a long road to mastery, but steps taken every day in the pursuit was always forward motion.

Retraining CA points from

Reciprocate - Jutsu (1 point, 1 point to rank up)
Restriction- A-Rank and up
This deadly jutsu unique to the Steadfast taps into the muscle memory of their body, taking the pain that they've suffered and turning it against an opponent.
Note: Usable at any time; does not require to be declared 2-3 rounds beforehand. Max damage is at 6800. This cannot be buffed. Uses melee accuracy.

Which I have two points in, into

Maximum Defense - Modification (2 points)
Restriction- Requires Defensive Technique
A Steadfast can learn this variation on the Defensive Technique once they have practiced it to its full potential. Instead of dodging around like a flea, they can focus on guarding all of their weak points in order to reduce they amount of damage from attacks. As an alternative, they can almost completely forgo attacking, throwing all of their energy into evading enemy attacks instead.
Effect: When using Defensive Stance, you can trade 1 point of Accuracy in order to reduce oncoming damage by 5% instead of gaining a dodge bonus (to a maximum of -2 accuracy and -10% damage taken), or you can trade 1 point of Accuracy for 1 point of Dodge up to a maximum of 6 (as opposed to the previous 4).

Also swapping my Barrier Mastery ability with Defensive Technique.

In the years that he had been an active member of Iwagakure's militant force, Ryu had learned quite a bit about not only pain but the effects it can have as one ages. Despite his body's resilience, he was getting older and even though he possessed an abnormal cellular regeneration rate, the aches of the built up scar tissue in his body wasn't able to be fully ignored. He had beaten himself down to build himself up stronger in his young age, and for all that he did his efforts were rewarded for the amount of pain he went through; yet as he felt himself slowing down, the more effective movements were the shorter ones that altered his position just enough to protect his more vital areas from being struck or easily targeted.

It was sort of meditative, simply standing still in a field waiting for a strong gust of wind to kick up and send pieces of wood tied onto a post that had four wind-sails on top and sat on a swivel. Every time the wind roared by, the pieces would lash out at him, and he would practice batting them away with precise motions without moving more than he had to. It allowed him to contemplate his self-mastery as well as the effectivness of having a left arm that was made of stone, it was more resilient than his flesh for sure but it hardly allowed him much finesse despite wresting full control of it from the creature within him. With time, as he progressed in the training and set up more of the practice posts that he replaced the tethered wood with cylinders of stone, Ryu learned not only how best to use his body in a more effective defensive manner and reduce the amount of actual damage his body took by using natural mechanics and timing. The days spent training left him with less damage to his body overall, making him feel more invigorated overall and a touch spry despite the year's progress beginning to touch upon his body.
