Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The Toraono Clan had largely taken up the duties of Sunagakure's now all but non-existent ANBU. Quietly and with steady training former ANBU Captain now Border Sennin Kuro had begun training select individuals to become the new ANBU and police arm of Sunagakure. Although Kuro had great hopes for a newfound scion of Takahashi lineage he had no intentions of forcing the mantle of armored police upon him. Sharingan Kuro the embodiment and repository of Kuro's ANBU knowledge was now training Nanashi, a young lady of obvious but already abused potential. Kuro however was used to dealing with women after a lifetime or 3 in a maternally dominated household. He was also well versed in healing the psychic wounds of life and the hardships that came from shinobi life. Kuro's heart would always be aligned to help others even though the actions of the Cabal had hardened him to far more brutal and life taking patterns underneath the mass of pain, torment, regret, duty, honor, and constant racial bias now visibly and verbally thrown about since the last remaining Sennin had to take all the blame for the Cabal even being able to attack Sunagakure he carried own with a grim resolution and now lesser seen smile.

The Oushi Ouja family within the Toraono Clan were natural powerhouses, capable of feats of strength that few in any land could ever hope to accomplish. They are Kindred of Ox-King: a portion of the Toraono Clan descended from the blood of one of the demon beast Kings the Oushi-ouja or Ox King whom was actually defeated and absorbed by Hyakujuuonouu, the King of demon beasts and cousin of the celestial white tiger Byakko. Those whom show traits of descent from this line are known to be born larger than most babies. Many are born with special chakra seal crests upon their foreheads, chests, abdomens or backs. As they grow older many begin to show off their inhuman strength and tend to be taller than most people from any land. The tallest of these warriors to date actually tapered off at eight feet by the time of her twenty third birthday. The males of this lineage occasionally grow ox like horns, sometimes the women do as well but that is very rare. Many are also able to master innate jutsu that allow them to turn into giants. They tend to be born with full heads of black, blue, or brown hair with large brown, blue, or -rare- jade green eyes. These warriors are able to use taijutsu that combines their great strength and massive size to level mountains, and forests. Master Nabushin is the current leader of House Oushi-Ouja. At eight feet in height, broad chested, kind, and strong, Nabushin resembled a man that had been made from a bull, even his shoulders were so thick, that he seemed to have no neck. A spark of jade green lightning would occasionally leap from either of his horns. He normally strode about Suna in a black and brown battle gi slightly ragged at the shoulder and at the base of his calves from years of training and use. His jade green eyes are always humble and calm. He tended to work in the quarries and the mines despite his massive size and today was no different.

Working with him was a massive warrior that was even in height but heavily clad in armor. Even though this warrior had a neck his silver hair and violet eyes showed he was from the main family of the Toraono Clan and he wore the mantle of leadership and guardian well. He was not directly in charge however 'Kyojin Kuro' as the workers knew him represented the Sennin Toraono Kuro and was known to be Toraono Kuro's body guard and able assistant. As assistant foreman his job was to keep everyone at the quarry safe while Master Nabushin kept everyone within steady work hours and duties. Today alone Kyojin Kuro had saved three workers when a slab of rock dislodged and threatened a cave in. Before the man could even cry for help he found himself next to Master Nabushin and Kyojin Kuro actually catching the slab of earth and holding it in place till a team could brace or remove it. Many remembered their harrowing escape from the Cabal's explosives and Kyojin Kuro actually maintaining a titan form so long that he was imprisoned in carmot and nearly died keeping the tunnel open. He lost the ability that others of the Oushi Ouja family claimed but his shin-shun jutsu which allowed him near instantaneous movement to assist those in need within his sight or hearing or bearing a special seal crested paper which all whom worked in the quarry were ordered to carry for their safety and to be able to track and locate them in case of a cave in or land slide allowed him to be just as valuable or more an asset than before. He was rarely seen without his armor but those whom had seen him with his helmet removed knew he was somehow related to Toraono Kaibudo. Some speculated that he was a child from an outside affair but even if he was Lady Azame accepted Kyojin like one of her own children and even that made the possible scandal and love they shared all the more real. With vigilant violet eyes, silver white hair, and skin dark as night Kyojin Kuro stood at the ready. As he and Master Nabushin waited for more volunteers to arrive to help dig up more ore and stone necessary for the construction of a village above ground. Project Rebirth was underway...

Following the instructions memetically encoded into memory, the two bodies requested by Kuro wandered their way to the Sunagakure quarries. They had been tempted to make use of some of the rapid-travel techniques they'd ferreted out that the bodies in question could perform. Instead, they walked up, taking the opportunity to observe areas of the village en route which they'd not previously seen. There was a great deal of complexity to the underground village, and it would take them some time to adequately grasp those distinctions.

Still, the two figures, one blonde, one dark-haired, arrived at the quarry with relatively little pomp or circumstance. They initially kept their distance, observing the muscle-bound, horned giant and the equally immense armor-clad figure for a time before stepping forward to make their presence known.

ooc: no sorry just been caught up with work and didn't see your post.

As the duo approached Nabushin would beckon them over to him so he could speak with them if they came closer this is what they would hear..."Greetings, I am Nabushin, you may call me Nabu... we are mining this quarry for slate, granite, marble, limestone, and any precious metals or minerals that can be pulled free before reaching a maximum depth of 750 meters. We are currently 200 meters below ground level and we have careful plans to maintain the natural capacity of the land around this quarry as we will flood this quarry in the future to produce a man made sea of sorts. We need personnel that can pull minerals from the earth and demolitionists that can carefully separate large slabs of stone from select areas to be transported to the new building sites for the village. By word of Toraono Kuro Sennin of the village I was told to welcome a possible demolitions expert and have him shown where to blow up stuff. This isn't a rush job so take your time and SAFELY carry out any duties you are assigned. Do you have any questions?"

If the duo do not approach, a group of workers will move past them to go greet Nabushin and shake hands, fist bump, high five, hug, and recieve hefty pats on the back he is apparently a jovial giant and quite well loved. The armored giant however mostly nods and sits on a nearby boulder looking off into the distance as if ready for something to go wrong. Which he always was.

OOC: This mission may require you to research quarry work, stone masonry, demolitions, and natural minerals. Feel free to be as specific or dynamic in your writing as you like. I am expecting you to write any where from 300 to 1000 words a post. The better you write, the better I respond and the more in depth the mission can be. Please be aware that at anytime this mission can become an A or S rank mission dependent upon your writing and the skill with which you use your bloodline abilities. Also remember that if your paths are close together they are weakened due to the intensity of concentration an chakra needed to focus multiple senses on the same forefront. However, if you have two different view points at separate areas you will have full access to your capabilities in each bloodline. This will also allow you to discover your path's natural limits on your own terms. I know you get bored easily and you expect me to respond to your posts as fast as you write them and I will do my best to do so. Just remember I am working in a diverse environment and I may not always get access to internet as readily as you. With all this said Let the roleplay commence...

The pair moved somewhat closer and listened to the horned giant's introduction, noting the suggested 'expert' status conferred upon them by the Sennin. Committing the goals of the operation to memory, they let others approach first, noting the commendable wariness of the armored counterpart to the immense ox-man. They hoped their sponsor to this expedition hadn't oversold their capabilities too much, as they didn't have quarrying experience or expertise. The Assassin had a fair amount of amount of experience in the military use of explosions, both as diversion and demolition, but the notion of utilizing them in a manner designed to keep the surroundings intact was still a novel one.

As for mineral extraction, recalling the shift the mad Jinchuuriki had made between sand and a coarse, particulate iron grit, they had a fair degree of confidence that they could manage that, at least in theory. Implementation would be entirely a different matter, but then, that rarely wasn't the case. Realizing that the Monster had been staring absent-mindedly at the spark and crackle of electricity which ran between the foreman's horns like an organic Jacob's Ladder, they returned their gaze to him, scratching at a phantom itch on their ruddy, eternally-flushed nose. Beside that body, the Artist inclined his head and gestured to himself. "For all practical purposes you can think of me as an explosives production expert. I should be able to manufacture, on the spot, any explosives necessary for the work at hand. I will require some guidance as to their utilization in industrial capacity. Or, another way: if you know what you want and where you want it, I can make it for you and put it there. Plus I know a few tricks that should improve the process of moving any slabs of stone quarried. As for that body," he jerked a thumb at the twitchy Sunaku, "should be no problem on the mineral extraction front. And the same gravitic manipulation tricks are available as a bonus."

Giving a shrug, the mentioned other body nodded to the tremendous ox-man. "Plus, what one of my bodies sees or hears, so does the other. Oh!" the raven-haired woman thought to add in with an oddly cheerful tone, "I additionally make an excellent addition to local security. Strong as a jounin. Used to be Black Ops elsewhere. Hm...but don't assign me too close to myself. Otherwise I get sort of a feedback effect, and I don't think we want Combustion Man over there getting distracted while priming a charge."

Master Nabushin practically beamed with internal delight at Nanashi's avatars words as he motioned Kyojin Kuro to come over and lead them to the main dig points. "THAT IS WONDERFUL NEWS and some of the best news we've had all day outside of lunch being a rare delicacy garaunteed to delight every meat eater here and some rare vegetables for our vegetarians. I am having a really good day now. Well introductions may or may not be in order, this is Kyojin Kuro, normally the acting bodyguard of our Border Sennin. Today and for the next several weeks he will be watching over the quarry and insuring no one suffers any accidents we can prevent. He will at the very least be able to extract ANYONE from any cave in. He has proven himself quite hand and durable. He will lead you to your work points and point out any necessary routes for labor, relief, and safety calls. Here is a sound crystal that you can use to notify me if you have any emergencies. Otherwise there are helmets with built in headsets for general messages and requests. Welcome to the Quarry."</COLOR><i></i>

Kyojin Kuro stepped forward and placed a heavy gauntleted arm across his chest in salute, it was then that the Monster would notice by his presence and chakra that this was one of Kuro's avatars but instead of being just like Kuro this one was so dense in muscle, power, and presence that he only took on Kuro's facial features. Which were completely concealed save his eyes beneath his helmet and bio crystals. This one was truly an ogre.

Kyojin Kuro didn't speak much he gestured to Monster after letting the Artist sit down and overlook a map of the Quarry... he quickly led her a specific distance away alleviating the chakra interference and spiritual pressure their original proximity had placed upon the duo. After they arrived in an area clear of people and surrounded by heavy black granite and iron ore Kyojin Kuro smiled to the Monster and spoke. <COLOR color="indigo">"I see you have yet to copy yourself in any of your forms but that is refreshing too. Sometimes you don't want to look at your own face after what we are forced to do in life but I digress. Here you will find a significant amount of granite and possible iron ore. I will leave you with a helmet that has a comlink and a safety vest. Feel free to call me if you need anything." At that he was gone using a significant version of high speed movement that seemed to be attached to the seal he left on the ground nearby allowing him to get to where he was needed most with just a small surge of chakra.

The area was clear of any other people for at least five hundred yards so Sunaku Nanashi could go all out and experiment with this form's control over sand and minerals.

Kyojin Kuro appeared next to Master Nabushin and nodded as he turned to escort THE Artist to the marble portion of the quarry, as they walked Kuro explained what he might find as he worked. " As you work on this portion of the quarry you should find a significant amount of heavy marble. The more fantastic the color the more the marble is worth. What this means is rainbow marble is coveted and very expensive and sells quite easily. The more marble you manage to remove from the canyons around you in one piece especially in rectangular, square, or trapezoid shapes. Those configurations are worth the most because they are the easiest to work with, may your explosions bring you joy and relief. I will leave you with a helmet that has a comlink and a safety vest. Feel free to call me if you need anything." Kyojin Kuro walked away generally unconcerned as he worked hard to conserve as much chakra as possible for emergencies.

No one was around for 2 miles allowing The Artist to work on his explosive skills and create at the same time by setting his demolition charges to seperate the slabs of stone evenly. If Nanashi managed to clear a slab evenly she could then call for a pick up team after clearing the area and ensuring nothing else would blow up. Until today they had been chizeling or cutting the stone away so experrt demolitions would greatly speed up their quota and the project.

The pair listened intently to what the foreman (and Toraono Branch family headman) had to say. They were uncertain as to the proper response to his effusiveness, so they didn't provide one. They simply nodded, recalling what his family's branch description had entailed. On the proffering of the sound crystal, they thought a moment, before the Monster stepped forward, taking it from the bullish man's massive hand and pocketing it. If it relied on sound, it was probably a safer bet to send it with the one of them not likely to be surrounded by explosions at a given moment. As the Artist body inspected the map of the Quarry's layout, his keen eye for detail picking out the salient features of the terrain, the Monster form followed the brawny devil-beast's body, skippping with irrepressible energy as she went. As the Sennin spoke to them, they listened, raising a skeptical brow. It was expedient to change the first two faces, at the time. It likewise is expedience--and a measure of spite mixed with a desire to demoralize--which prompts me to keep the faces of my most recent acquisitions. I am neither attached to, nor repelled by, such facades. They simply are.</I><i></i>

Accepting the hard hat from Kuro with a hand of sand, they used the silicate limb to set it upon the Monster's raven-hued hair, adjusting it to fit properly. Looking about them, they directed a thought at the Sennin even as he simply vanished. <I>What is the ideal outcome in this granite area? If it is to acquire the theoretical iron deposits, I can easily accommodate that, but if the granite is also intended for use, that significantly alters my methods. They shrug and set to calling up sand to start abrading away at the blue-black stone, aiming to begin cutting down the nearest iron ore deposits into particles that they might begin utilizing that iron sand for their jutsu rather than the standard silicate stuff.

Elsewhere, the Artist committed the map to memory, looking up on a hunch the moment before the Sennin suddenly materialized beside big, brawny bull-man. Standing, he began to follow the 'bodyguard' at his own pace, taking in the surrounding area as they went to reconcile the map with the topography itself and translate the theoretical layout into actualized knowledge. Stepping up behind the Sennin they began to plan out a method of accessing the quarry, block-by-block. They had a generalized sense of what the Artist's explosives could accomplish in terms of volume of explosion, and they suspected the shape of the explosion could be influenced by the shape of the sculpture used. Setting both hands into their clay-pouches, they began to shape up long serpent-shaped clay creatures, roughly five of them apiece. Working them down to just thicker than a ninja wire wrapped in explosive tags, as Akane had used in the past when breaching sealed doorways, they instructed the immense creation to stretch itself out at an intersection of the stone, then to squash and shape itself down so that its blast wave would emanate from it as a linear plane of force, one which would be launched straight into the section of multicolored marble the 100-odd foot long serpent was stretched over. Creating a further longitudinal creature, he then rolled up two creations to to cover the other sides, creating one which shaped itself into a crooked, bracketing shape with clung to the side of the open vertical section of the stone like so: [ creating a cap to the rectangular section of stone which gave it a thickness of roughly 20 feet deep and across. Then they sent a shorter, 20-foot segment to line off the far end of the long serpents, similarly directing their shaped charges into the stone in a perfectly rectangular manner, corners squaring to the others at a perfect 90 degrees. Stepping back from the section enough not to be hit by any flying shrapnel, they formed the seal which they'd seen immediately prior to every detonation, intoning solemnly, "KATSU!"

What is the ideal outcome in this granite area? If it is to acquire the theoretical iron deposits, I can easily accommodate that, but if the granite is also intended for use, that significantly alters my methods.
Kuro sent back telepathically ... (((We need granite and iron in equal amounts, Iron for mixture in support struts, granite for flooring and wall reinforcement.))

As the Monster worked seven hundred and fifty pounds of black iron sand rose to her beck and call leaving desiccated stone and quartz deposits in a neat pile. What to many would appear as a large cloud of black mist and dust was in actuality a thick miasma of dense iron sand. Dense and strong Nanashi would be significantly stronger with this type of sand.

The Artist began directly blowing up intricate shaped charges pulling twenty by twenty foot slabs of marble from the land making unique markings in the land. Using micro chakra explosions so finite and unique that the stones appeared to be perfectly cut without scorch mark or crack. The only real way to tell it was the work of the Artist was the scent. It smelled as if the stone had been both wet and hit with a high speed, explosive cut giving the marble a unique and pleasing fragrance.

The two forms continued their efforts to pull minerals for construction from the earth, the plans for the man made sea imprinted on their minds. As they continued their efforts a strange chakra resonance began to occur. Kyojin Kuro would also begin to feel an eerie swelling of natural chakra as well, it was odd but did not feel dangerous or of any intent.

Continuing to work according to the plans laid out via the map, the Monster began to use the Iron-sand to carry out rapid erosion in order to draw out slabs of the granite, extracting relevant iron deposits as they went. Sending the scouring grains of metal running at the outer sections of a prospective slab, the used the sand like rapid streams, accomplishing in a matter of minutes what natural erosion would have taken years or centuries to manage. Each time a slab was finished, the iron sand lifted it to set it on top of a neat stack of stone. Keying the Monster's comm device, they offered, "There are sections of stone prepared for pickup at both locations. If there is a particular quantity you prefer to deal with, now would be a good time to inform me, so I might time notifications more appropriately."

Elsewhere, the Artist continued to blast free blocks of the brilliant marble, using gravitic manipulation to pull the heavy stone free from its initial position and set it neatly to the side for pickup. Feeling the hairs on the back of his neck start standing on end, the Artist took a brief break from quarrying to examine the sense of swelling chakra which had begun moments before. Concentrating his attention around him, he began checking his surroundings for significant changes beyond the obvious relocation and portioning off of the marble.

Are you sensing this chakra buildup, Sennin? Should I be concerned that this began after the work started?<i></i>

[Apologies that it's shorter than you requested, but I was unsure what more there was to do when the character is involved in a pair of very straightforward, very repetitive actions. Given that, I didn't want to simply bloat the word count by actually typing up the repetition of the procedures.]

OOC: Your response is fine, never judge your wordcount by another's always be as explanatory as you can in your own way and here comes the response.

With a deep internal sense of chakra Kuro pressed his sage gifts to the limits to determine what the surge in natural chakra might be coming from. To his immediate laughter he found he was sensing a large deposit of carmot (sandwyrm excrement - elemental chakra crystalized by the passage and excretion of a sandwyrm.) Kuro relaxed his internal focus and relayed his findings to Nanashi via helmet so that all may hear. " Looks like our helpers being so quick and organized allowed us to hit the jackpot everyone. They have found a sizeable amount of carmot near the marble quarrying area so get the teams ready with carts and get the secondary teams ready with lifters for the granite and iron. Looks like our time table will be finished ahead of schedule with a bonus."

OOC: Feel free to be as exuberant as possible in your response so we can wrap this mission up and lead into your next set of missions.

Drawing a shield of black iron sand around them, the nameless Monster began shaping a complicated weave of chakra into a colossal creature. When they finished, an immense reptilian, hydra-headed beast of iron towered above the granite-grounds. Keying his comlink, the artist sent back, "The Sunaku can command the iron and lift the granite, if you,ll just direc them as to where it goes. As for marble, I can shift it with gravitic jutsu once I've lashed it together with some ninja wire and padding.Anything else needs doing before I pull up the wyrm-shit for transit?"

Kuro laughed out loud, truly his latest apprentice had out done herself. "The marble will go south to the base of the camp, the carmot will need to be carefully monitored because for some odd reason sandwyrm's are actually very territorial about their potty zones. You can set the iron in stacks near the entryway to camp where the smelters can pick it up to purify it for the Takahashi forges. Just try to be careful moving about unless you are certain you have mastered your newer selves then by all means do whatever you feel is right to get things done efficiently, quickly, and above all safely. We haven't had any accidents yet and I am on watch for any possible attacks or natural predators. Keep up the good work."<i></i>

Content with his apprentice's efforts Kyojin Kuro actually relaxed his stance a little and for the people watching and knowing how normally the armored giant was overly tense about moving any materials about said volumes for the assistance they had received. A cheer for Nanashi roared through the Quarry. If she had any empathy left she could actually feel their jubilation.
