Shouyu was meeting with shinobi at the front gates today. It was quite an exciting mission he thought for himself. Supposedly, some funky activity was reported outside the village. The cloud had been in peace for some time now, after they assistance in the bear and marsh conflict, and the personal demon war, they were at ease now. Shouyu could understand why suspicions were high at the moment. Of course, I mean, why not. At any time this village could be susceptible to any enemy attacks. The utmost caution should upheld at times like these to protect the innocent villagers.

Making his way there was a journey, he said hi with many citizens, even exchanged a couple conversations with a few. His presence around Kumo was becoming known, he had liked the result of his activity in the village. Although, he tried desperately to not let this get to his head for any reason and become prideful, that would be the last thing he wanted for sure. Junko sensei had told him to be the light in the engulfing darkness, Akira Mempo advised him to be a positive hope for the less fortunate and the innocent. These words, these lessons he remembered.

Finding himself at the location desired he checked in with squadron running patrols. The sensory type ninjas seemed to be worn down and needed a good break. I guess that’s why Shouyu was here, to provide a relief of support. Maybe someday, he’d be the sensory type ninja holding support from a bird’s eye view. Sure enough he took his post, which was high though he held no fear of heights, or fear it all thanks to Junko. His eyes peered through the distance, even without the byakugan now, he could still quite well, and that was for sure.

Peering into the distance, he found nothing irregular within a close proximity. His byakugan went active showing the veins deep in his facial features now. His eyes began to see chakra of his team mates, a slight x ray vision and even farther sight in depth. Even then his eyes could not catch onto anything out of the ordinary but still he kept his visual prowess active. He could be seen shifting his head left to right, but only slightly since his view was 360 degree. He relayed the info to his mates who reassured him to keep looking.
To make his job easier, or even try to, he asked what he could be looking for. Or if anything, had they caught anything since the reporting. Their details weren’t too confirming and it made Shouyu pout almost. It was just the usual birds, clouds, mountains and rocky formations that surrounded Kumo. Some people out by the gates but no foreign chakras that seemed intimidating or threatening. He blinked a few times, increasing the distance of his view at the expense of more chakra. Past the mountains in a ravine, he could see a collection of chakras, bodies, all huddling together.

He reported this immediately and the other sensory ninja jumped back to work as if they were never fatigued. Shouyu stepped down, deactivating his eyes with a rather puzzled expression. The ninja were determining whether the chakra was familiar or in resemblance to the culprits causing trouble in the outskirts. So it seemed at least he had completed his job here, but even then he still stuck around. He spoke with the squadron leader and asked if any more assistance was needed of which Shouyu had insisted on helping. But he was cut short, and told to mind his business.

He took no offense to this, these were older shinobi, chuunin and jounin, if anything were seriously wrong, there was no need for a student to risk his life here and now. So since he completed his task, he would wave everyone off and began his walk away. He clutched and fist thanking his white hyuuga eyes for succeeding once again. He thought, what would he be if he did not have these eyes, would he be the same? But there was no time for that, he enjoyed himself how he was and was learning to appreciate himself, a proud ninja.

It was another mission of surveillance. Today it was with members of the ANBU ops. Quite exciting, since one day he hoped to become one of those masked assassins. Skilled ninja who live life in secrecy and darkness. There was darkness in his heart true, but not enough to devour the overpowering light in his cheerful spirit. He dashed from roof top to roof top, barely even leaving a sound as each foot tapped a roof like a falling feather for another jump. He glided through the air, arms flailing naturally by his side, he felt like a cloud in motion in the sky.
He reached his destination of the village borders, heading to the corresponding watch tower to meet with the ANBU ops. As he did he was greeted, not with words or body language but silence. And with that he kept silent as well. The presumable captain spoke, and told him to put on his mask since he was with ANBU ops and they knew he was to be in training. Sure enough, he placed his all white mask on that had sharp cat like ears point from the top and a blank mask he had not yet drawn on.
Sure enough he continued to follow suit, the ops nodded and began to debrief the mission. This wasn’t just some watch from the tower but required some foot work too. I guess whatever happened last time, wasn’t good enough or they missed some smaller detail to involve the ops. Could be, Cloud was just on watch to maintain their era of peace and stillness in the hearts of their loved citizens. Still the famed ops agreed on their positions, Shouyu was given a headset for this mission and placed the small bud in his ear, immediately he could hear everyone.
He darted off himself, outside of the village gates, leaping from tree top to tree top via branches. He did this with ease as if he were some ape or monkey that usually did tree swinging. No, it was just his enhanced ninja flexibility and reaction time that lead to this creative way of traveling. Down on the civilian roads below him he could see small waves of traveling people, the usual. He lowered himself down the trees to get close enough audio surveillance, to peek into what they people were talking about, the word of mouth.
He was still in stealth, little to no sounds, hidden by leaved and thick branches, his back was to the base of the tree and byakugan active to catch sights of any unfamiliar or menacing chakras. Still everything seemed a okay and he was about to leave this area before catching sight of some rather suspicious characters. Their chakra network proved they were shinobi, and from physical view and judgement, seemed rather couple. Lately, there had been a lot of new faces into the cloud and he wondered if these people would pose a threat at all. Over the headset, relayed physical description, location, and topic of conversation between the two ninja before departing to his next check point.
The kid was climbing high into the trees again, a very tall one this time to get a vantage point view of his next check point some quarter mile away east from his current trajectory. He found his direction and noted a mountain in the same area to which he could easily locate and remember his pathway. Plus it helped that the sun was to his back, also helping to find himself geographically through the woods of the forest. He dashing tree to tree again, making sure to adjust his height from high to low, when by passing villagers to get clean views of the people coming toward and away from Kumo.
He supposed he was looking for something in particular but on this road found nothing. Reaching his second check point it was a rest stop, oddly, no one was here. He jumped to ground level, going back to back with a tree and slightly peeking over. Two ninja were talking, sharing hand gestures but nothing was audible. They seemed alert, and whatever this was, it was planned meeting and he was intruding so he made sure to stay as quiet as possible. But even with that said, they happened to look in his direction quickly and converge on his location. He gasped, responding, with a leap away from them and a body switch jutsu to switch locations with a falling leaf nearby. He reported his finding to the ops and reported back to his post in Kumo.

He was at the surveillance post once more yet again doing a mission. I guess his eyes became really useful to the village, being one of the very few Hyuuga’s to have found their way into Kumo. Side thoughts, he’d wonder if later in life he’d find a suitable counterpart to make more Hyuuga’s here in Kumo. He began to maul over the possible candidates now that he could probably butter up for the future. Pacing around rubbing his bare chin, he literally put this into deep thought while before a mission standing at his post. His eyes met the sky and only a few came to mind of which it could work, but would be a long shot.

While the others were still waiting around for the full team gather he would remain in this thought. There was only few girls to choose from in Kumo, and he’s a newbie so, why would they even mind him, right? But no, he was truly prodigy, very skilled and witty. Plus, he was Hyuuga. He smirked at himself before being berated by one of his comrades on strange behavior, Shouyu shrugged and continued this thought process, over and over again.

The team gathered the kid was still lounging, fantasizing of the future the Hyuuga babies, but with tho? That’s when the berating continued, this time from the whole lot as Shouyu lagging and falling behind. He snapped out of this confusion and jumped up, straightening himself and dusting his shoulders and hakamas, he cleared his throat and apologized. Everyone jumped into action and started moving in separate directions, from high and low far and wide the lot divided around the village gates. Shouyu was high, scaling mountain walls by manipulating chakra into his feet to attach himself to the mountain as if his ninja sandals were glued and sticky.

Around the area, he found nothing from what he usually saw on these missions, and he was somewhat glad nothing really happened that called for action. Kumo needed this time of peace and rest, it would be good to recoup army strength, political power, and promotes civilian lifestyle and childhoods for the kids. He wanted to maintain this safety at any cost so this was good enough for him. He didn’t interact with any commoners, he just searched to and fro amongst them for anyone or anything suspicious that he could report back to HQ.

An elder woman was staggering carrying some heavy luggage and before she could fall flat on her face Shouyu would catch her and lightly bring her back to her feet. Aside from his mission he aided the elder to the checkpoint and received intel and the latest happenings of convoys, messages and activity of the village gates from older woman. She was rather knowledgeable and knew much, some of which the kid himself was not informed of, so truly she was a helping hand indeed. Shouyu thanked her and returned to his position high in the mountain tops, scaling the rocky formations once more.

Up here from atop he couldn’t see anything, more or less it was the usual, and his stomach began rumbling. Oh, how he wished he had a mom at home where he could already have good prepared at his home when he returns, not just the boxes on top of boxed instant ramen noodles. No time for fretting now, he would move to return to his post at HQ and report his sightings for the day. The afternoon was wrapping up and the sun was beginning to set, a twilight in the evening sky.

Back at his post in HQ Shouyu made his report to his shift leader, in full detail and even the information that was given to him by the elder lady. He gave her full physical description and name, so that if anyone else came across her they could receive the same info in exchange for assisting the elder. They were thankful of Shouyu’s participation again and berated him for being so lost in thought. The lot laughed and Shouyu just chuckled awkwardly and looked away embarrassed. Well what do they know, maybe Shouyu was just acting weird, he jumped away and dashed from the roof top.

Another surveillance mission and the young Genin was ready. Today there was reports of suspicious activity that may have needed some kind of force, if so he was also ready. Shouyu strapped up an apron type linen to cover his loosely fitted pants, attached his two belt pouches, complete with items needed for his travel. Okay, he was all prepared and left his studio apartment within a flash, so fast he probably even left his door unlocked but he felt no need to think of that too much. He wanted to become ANBU and tardiness was unacceptable in any regard.

As he traveled through from the inner city village zones to the outer zones he was greeted. Shouyu would run through the bustling crowds versatile with his movements in dodging people to avoid bumping into them. Sometimes he’d spin around and give a wave saying hello to people he knew, they would do the same and laugh at Shouyu who seemed exuberant as ever and in a rush. The giggles reassured him that he was gaining a reputable renown throughout the village, it warmed his heart so that may even gave him a boost of energy to complete this mission.

Passing through the outer village zones he was running with a forward lean arms flailing naturally at his side when he was greeted by his team members, who began to run in sync with him. He looked, left, locked eyes with one and nodded, he looked right locking eyes and nodding at the other, they both returned the same nod and adverted their gazes to the post where they would be. Almost instantaneously they all picked up speed and moved faster toward the post where they would leap, channel chakra into their feet and scale the wall to the top.

At the top they were debriefed quickly on the location and told to converge immediately with the fact knowing that the suspect could be armed and dangerous, so they were to approach with caution. Shouyu turned to his squad leader, listening up to the orders he gave in a short time and they dispersed. It wasn’t too long they came across a group of bandits having a stake out outside the village gates. From atop, a great vantage point, each member of the team observed the bandits, giving hand signs of how many enemies were visible and exact location stated.

The group would nod once all information was exchanged and the waited until it seemed all of them huddled together, the ninja would leap from their position and land before them in a surprise attack that caught them totally off guard, some would jump in try and grab their weapons but were easily seized and disarmed by the preemptive strike, Shouyu was one to react and detain one of the bandits, grabbing him by the wrist, twisting to the right and down, pressing his elbow into the bandits, outstretching his arm in an arm bar as he wailed aloud in pain.

Shouyu remained this position torturing him but letting up lightly as to not break or sprain his arm. His squad leader gave them a chance to pack up their stuff and take their business further away from the village gates, and if they did not comply then they would be arrested here and sent to Kumo jail. They thought about it hard, one even tried to make a move and was met with a sickening round house kick spewing saliva from his lips as he was ko’d by it, the squad leader grew even more upset now at the group.

The leader rose his hand as If to signal and when it had reached his peak to almost drop someone yelled. The leader paused to see who it was, one of the bandits would try to plead for his group that they were only hungry and needed a place to stop to replenish strength and continue their journey. They seemed really sincere about it, everyone agreed and to keep eyes on them from above in case it was a false lie to deter the ninja. He agreed and the group dispersed back to HQ to report what happened today.
