Shouyu was meeting with shinobi at the front gates today. It was quite an exciting mission he thought for himself. Supposedly, some funky activity was reported outside the village. The cloud had been in peace for some time now, after they assistance in the bear and marsh conflict, and the personal demon war, they were at ease now. Shouyu could understand why suspicions were high at the moment. Of course, I mean, why not. At any time this village could be susceptible to any enemy attacks. The utmost caution should upheld at times like these to protect the innocent villagers.
Making his way there was a journey, he said hi with many citizens, even exchanged a couple conversations with a few. His presence around Kumo was becoming known, he had liked the result of his activity in the village. Although, he tried desperately to not let this get to his head for any reason and become prideful, that would be the last thing he wanted for sure. Junko sensei had told him to be the light in the engulfing darkness, Akira Mempo advised him to be a positive hope for the less fortunate and the innocent. These words, these lessons he remembered.
Finding himself at the location desired he checked in with squadron running patrols. The sensory type ninjas seemed to be worn down and needed a good break. I guess that’s why Shouyu was here, to provide a relief of support. Maybe someday, he’d be the sensory type ninja holding support from a bird’s eye view. Sure enough he took his post, which was high though he held no fear of heights, or fear it all thanks to Junko. His eyes peered through the distance, even without the byakugan now, he could still quite well, and that was for sure.
Peering into the distance, he found nothing irregular within a close proximity. His byakugan went active showing the veins deep in his facial features now. His eyes began to see chakra of his team mates, a slight x ray vision and even farther sight in depth. Even then his eyes could not catch onto anything out of the ordinary but still he kept his visual prowess active. He could be seen shifting his head left to right, but only slightly since his view was 360 degree. He relayed the info to his mates who reassured him to keep looking.
To make his job easier, or even try to, he asked what he could be looking for. Or if anything, had they caught anything since the reporting. Their details weren’t too confirming and it made Shouyu pout almost. It was just the usual birds, clouds, mountains and rocky formations that surrounded Kumo. Some people out by the gates but no foreign chakras that seemed intimidating or threatening. He blinked a few times, increasing the distance of his view at the expense of more chakra. Past the mountains in a ravine, he could see a collection of chakras, bodies, all huddling together.
He reported this immediately and the other sensory ninja jumped back to work as if they were never fatigued. Shouyu stepped down, deactivating his eyes with a rather puzzled expression. The ninja were determining whether the chakra was familiar or in resemblance to the culprits causing trouble in the outskirts. So it seemed at least he had completed his job here, but even then he still stuck around. He spoke with the squadron leader and asked if any more assistance was needed of which Shouyu had insisted on helping. But he was cut short, and told to mind his business.
He took no offense to this, these were older shinobi, chuunin and jounin, if anything were seriously wrong, there was no need for a student to risk his life here and now. So since he completed his task, he would wave everyone off and began his walk away. He clutched and fist thanking his white hyuuga eyes for succeeding once again. He thought, what would he be if he did not have these eyes, would he be the same? But there was no time for that, he enjoyed himself how he was and was learning to appreciate himself, a proud ninja.
