A convoy mission was before the boy. He was clearly excited. He was dashing through the town on a whim that his sudden occurrence of more serious missions only meant that he was becoming closer to the anbu rank. Nothing would stop the boy now. Some people had waved him down, usually he would say hi but not this time, he was too busy. He wasn’t late or behind schedule, he just wanted to appear early in order to impress his peers. Not only his peers, but his superiors as well. And sure enough, the young kid arrived about fifteen minutes early.
The mission leader gave the debrief and Shouyu understood completely, he met with the civilians and introduced himself and they seemed quite nice and welcoming. He reassured their safety, and few other members of the village came to accompany him as back up. Now, with four shinobi and a medium size convoy, nothing should go south here, and so he was confident. After beginning, the pace started off slow, exiting the gates and traveling the borders on the dirt paved road. All the hierarchies were safe in carriages each with a shinobi at the entrance. Shouyu lead the entire convoy.
His purpose was to be the first line of sight, his gifted eyes were to spot any interruptions before they appeared or even had a chance to start. And so, the veins around his eyes on his face became present. Nothing would stop the boy from ensuring the convoy’s safety, and so, his head constantly turning left to right as if he were crossing a street. Though he had 360 degree vision and needed not to do this, he wanted his blind spot constantly in motion so not to be caught off guard by someone familiar with his blood line.
All of the ninja seemed relax, as if they had done this before. Still, he would not be the one to be caught slipping. However, regardless of how alert he was, the lot remained calm. He wanted to follow suit but kept the seriousness of his position as a priority. The convoy was completed, they had reached their destination and the convoy was thanking him fervently. He insisted it was nothing and that he was glad to. They exchanged some words and had hoped to see Shouyu again on their return to cloud, with that Shouyu nodded, saluted and was on his way.
