Another week, another task, another weapon making contract. This week was a bit different, however; the redhead was not working in her shop, but in her kitchen. Clothed in a set of emerald green pajamas and a red apron, she worked on a large order of candy swords to give to the academy students of Sunagakure. A radio behind her played soft Christmas music in the background for her to hum and sing to as she worked. Her father was in his monthly clan meeting with his brothers, so she went undisturbed.
Dancing around a little to the upbeat music, she moved to the oven to pull out three cookie sheets that had fairly thick layers of red, white, and green striped candy in them. Replacing them with another set of three cookie sheets with the un-hardened candy gel in them, she began the baking process for the hundredth time today.
Taking a short breather, she ran her slightly sticky hands through the shorter hairs that fell around her face – though they were mostly out of the way now since they had a slight coating of candy keeping them back. She took a quick sip of her egg nog, she smiled and began to sing once again, her singing voice surprisingly sweet for such a tom-boy – of course, the little bit of alcohol she had mixed into her drink probably helped some – and she began to pry the first sheet of candy from the tin baking pan.
Once she had it loose, she grabbed a sharp knife from the counter top and began to cut out a few dagger shapes – she had decided that daggers would be much easier to make, and eat. Once she had the basic shapes cut out, she did the same to the other sheets, then poured the gel mixture into the empty sheets to ready them for baking. From there, she began to carve the basic shapes into more life-like daggers, being careful to keep the edges rounded – didn't need any children stabbing themselves in the throat while trying to eat their candy.
It took most of the day to get enough daggers made for all the students to have one, and by the time she was done, her singing had become a bit louder and much more slurred, but all of the candied daggers were perfectly done. Smiling as she wrapped each dagger in red-tinted plastic wrap and tied a piece of gold ribbon around the hilts, she stacked all the pieces in a box and finished off her last glass of egg nog with a small burp and a giggle.
