Mori was happy with the success he had been having in completing missions as a Genin after graduating from the Academy. His ultimate goal was to become an Anbu. So, in order to prove himself, he decided that he would head to the Kazekage tower and look for a seek and capture mission to show his aptitude. He made his way to the Tower and perused the available E-Rank missions. Of all the available missions one in particular caught his eye. The capture and return of Hiko Koba. This boy had been setting up surveillance around Suna and he was wanted for questioning. The mission details noted that Koba was last seen in the new Suna Residential area and so that is where Mori decided to start his search for this young spy.
Mori was not overly familiar with the Suna Residence area because he had spent his childhood roaming the streets in the lower levels. He had, however, spent some time recently trying to familiarize himself with all of the landscape Suna covered as part of his preparation in being a Shinobi. After leaving the Kazekage Tower, Mori started walking down the nearby roads asking the occasional passerby if they had seen a young boy in the area wearing gold plated armor. He figured someone in such a distinctive outfit would be easily noticed but everyone he asked politely informed him that they hadn't seen anyone fitting that description.
Mori had spent about an hour walking the streets and talking to pedestrians when he decided to try a different tactic. He made his way towards the middle of buildings that had gathered on the outside of Suna and climbed his way to the top of one of the larger buildings. As he reached the top he realized he still wasn't used to experiencing so much natural light. Anytime he had traveled to the surface when he was younger, Mori would only go during the cooler parts of the day, either early in the morning or later at night. His eyes took a moment to adjust but after he marveled at the landscape around him. The soft brown dudes with the occasional flurry of wind adding a twirl of spontaneity in the monotony of the desert. Mori's eyes refocused to the task on hand and started to scan the area for his prey.
A spark of yellow caught Mori's eyes as he looked to the north from his position. He continued to study the area to make sure that it wasn't his imagination playing tricks on him or an unlikely merchant banner flapping in the wind. After patiently waiting he determined that this was his best lead so far and started sprinting towards the north side of the Sunan Residences. Mori kept his focus on the stationary yellow gleam as he continued toward it. He wondered why it hadn't been moving. As he approached, Mori was happy to note that the yellow gleam he had noticed was indeed his intended target and the reason he hadn't moved was because he was setting up another surveillance camera on the roof of the building he was on. Mori was aware, as he approached his target, of the description of Koba's fighting capabilities the mission had provided "He is not considered to be especially strong. He tends to use brute force without a great deal of forethought. He is also very quick but his movements would suggest that he was never trained as a formal fighter." Even though Koba was older than him, Mori was the same height and definitely had the advantage of being quicker though possibly a bit weaker. Mori would let Koba make the first move but what would provoke him? As he landed on the other side of the rooftop from his target, Mori said to Koba "I don't think that equipment is supposed to be installed up here." Koba, who was intent on his work, appeared startled and turned to face Mori. "So what if it isn't? What's a kid like you going to do to stop me?" Koba replied. "Oh nothing..." Mori replied. "It'd just be a shame if your mother in Sona found out what you've been doing here in Suna" Mori added. This seemed to enrage Koba and he charged Mori while saying "Don't. You.. Bring... My.... Mom....." and as he reached out to strike Mori, Mori suddenly wasn't where Koba thought he would be. Mori has sidestepped and grabbed one of Koba's flailing arms and used his momentum. to spin him in a front flip that had him land face down on the ground. Mori quickly tied Koba's arms together and pulled Koba to his feet. "Now it's time to take you and your equipment, here, in for a little questioning."
