They had done it, they had defeated such a horrifying thing on their own. He was really happy about regards it, but he couldn't handle the smell at this very moment. His breakfast soon fount a way out.
Blitz took the moment to sniff around, he had already picked out that there was something else coming. At the deafening sound of the Unbent Hato would look up from Yumi, he grew a bit of worry in his eyes, but as he thought further... fights, This meant he could fight more! He already went towards it and saw his dad in a flash. "OH hey... Guess wha--!" He was cut off as he heard his old man. "Hato, Yumi, we need to leave NOW!" "Hmpf, we took one down! We can do another on-" Again he was cut off, Blitz barked towards Kaen in understanding. But Hato felt like this was a fight, fighting was fun he took it in. Especially if it was a win. "I SAID MOVE, LETS GO!!!" "A-h-" He got ushered further by the push on his shoulder, even Blitz took Hato's hand and scraped with his teeth over it. "A-a-t-t... Got it, got it, fiiiiine I will move." He would pout and started to move. "Shit, I don't know if we are gonna make it. Evasive Maneuvers everyone, get to that cave entrance on the hill as quickly as I can. I'll try to hold them off!" Evasive... Why, Why if they could fight them.
The young one found it quite unfair, but as it was asked he would do. He wasn't keen on having his father loud like that before, for some reason that always froze him up and made him do what he said. A sigh was given as he ran, keeping an eye out to Yumi if she were to froze Hato would just simply try to push her on, if that didn't work he would take her up against his back. They couldn't stop at this point. Hato didn't look back much, he knew that they had to move on, and he already knew his dad had 'all the fun'.

[Kaen]

Unbent seemed to be flooding from each and every direction now, it was pure chaos. Kaen scrambled as fast as he could to reach his Genin before the ensuing ravaging washed over them. Though Kaen was fast, and did indeed make it in time to usher Yumi and Hato towards the entrance up ahead, they were not completely safe and would need to fend off the enemy as best they could with what they had. Yumi appeared to be their first target and rushed to munch n' crunch her bones. But Kaen was quick and crafty and threw up a quickly hand-seal formed barrier comprised of sand to protect the young girl. Alas they were too strong for his hastily erected barrier and broke through. The distraction had allowed her to gain some distance between herself and them and managed to remain unharmed, for now.

While she enjoyed her brief break from the vile monsters she would done a chakra armor of sorts which allowed her to decrease her overall weight, allowing herself to dodge their attacks more easily. While that took place another large group fell upon Hato's path and attempted to acquire his flesh. This too Kaen was prepared for and did the same as he had done for Yumi. But this time it was not sand, but a wall of lava that burst from out of the ground. These creatures, albeit weak on their own were most formidable when in large numbers like this. They too broke through Kaen's barrier and managed to land a hit on his son, Hato. It would be painful, of course, but it would leave only a bruise at best, Hato was still in the clear.

Seeing that this barrier nonsense was getting him nowhere he needed a new plan. He pulled forth his burning might as he entered his unique style, flames erupted around the Hybrid. Immediately he went into a flurry of handseals that would have appeared as only a blur to Hato and Yumi. This technique was far and above what these two could ever hope to perform at their current level, and would be equally as powerful. Though it would take time, when it was finished these Unbent scum would be as well, finished that is. Though even Kaen was not completely safe from the overwhelming numbers. While performing the massive chain of handseals he would also be dodging multiple attacks. One managed to graze him, but his flames appeared to have protected him from the assault. The fire burned with such intensity the Unbent's hand simply disintegrated as it entere Kaen's personal space. Bad Unbent, no touchy!

By now both Yumi, Hato, & Blitz would be just about to the mine's entrance. Seeing this Kaen would set his plan in motion. "Hato, Yumi! Head deeper into the mine, don't look back. Blitz, keep them safe. I will hold them off to give you all a chance to escape." In the middle of the fray Kaen would order his squad to flee deeper into the mine once they finally made it to the entrance. But Yumi would protest immediately. "But sensei, what about you?" Kaen would shake his head. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Just focus on the mission and I will find you two later." But still the young girl would persist in her efforts to make sure her leader was safe. "We can't just leave you, we need you!" Already completing a plethora of seals for a special jutsu that would ensure their safety Kaen would turn towards her and reassure her. "I'll be fine, I'm not Lord Kaen for nothing." He would give a coy smile as Hato gave his response. "Alright, but promise you'll let us have some actual fun later. If not we're gonna have to spar, and I'm gonna kick your butt!" His father would boastfully laugh at this challenge, but gladly accepted it. "Heck, we're gonna spar even if I leave you with nothing, you can count on that."

Suddenly the sky become dark and then entirely cut off from their view as obsidian-esk plates clinked and clanked noisily as his jutsu was completed. Now standing at the entry way to the mine he would be standing between them and the Unbent horde charging straight for them. Kaen would be sure to leave a small opening to allow them to escape, but kept the Hordes at bay. "You guys know the mission, be careful and don't engage anyone unless you have to defend yourself. Be as stealthy as possible, don't get caught. There's no telling what they may do to. I WILL find you, I promise. Hato, you're in charge until I can locate you three. Stay safe!" [Mission] Suddenly a massive noise echoed throughout the dome protecting them as the Unbent made contact with his barrier. They scraped, banged, beat, bit, kicked, and did anything else they could to try and gain entry. But his jutsu was strong and it would take them too long to get inside. Their fate was practically sealed, it was only a matter of time before his other jutsu destroyed them. After his squad had exited and were out of his dome he would seal it shut. A few moments later a tremor shook the walls around them, a collapse was obviously eminent as the entry was worn from the passing of time. It would not hold, they needed to go deeper otherwise they would be crushed under the rubble that was already shaking loose. Kaen's jutsu would hit at any moment and finish he job.

Booooom!

The jutsu landed causing widespread devastation to the outside area. The entryway to the mine was collapsing, separating Kaen from Hato, Yumi and Blitz. Once the dust settled they would be left in pitch black darkness with equally eerie silence. They could hear nothing from their side of the cave in, was Kaen even still alive? There was no way to tell for sure, and these boulders were far too massive to move aside and un-bury the entrance. They had only one option, go deeper and continue the mission and hope that their leader would find them somehow...

The battle went so quickly in this case. From one moment he saw unbent trying to focus themselves onto Yumi, the other moment he saw he was the one being taken. Thinking of something he would soon find himself being protected by his father, yet one got through. It was a punch, but he could easily handle that. "Yuck, now I will smell like them for a while." He scrunched up his nose as he went further. "Yumi!" He tried to warn her, but she was in time to use a block it seemed. Yet she still got punched.
Hato himself would attempt a different approach, he knew how his bloodline somewhat worked and he knew they could be great stealthers. Trying to do so, he would attempt to make a stunt double. Yet he was stupid enough to not let that clone move. Even Blitz took upon the same movement a little.

Once more he looked behind him and saw that a group of unbent was raging for him. He swallowed at that moment and seconds later they found the clone. 'Aaah sh*t..." Now he hoped that he wouldn't be found out. He swallowed for a second as he soon found them doing blind shots. He missed a few, which was good, one of them scraped him which gave away his position, the other one he managed to slightly miss also. "Tsk..." He made an annoyed sound as he then would get a hit first on. He left a small cough for a moment as he saw the black blockade coming up. "Tsk..." He was annoyed, wanted to give them the hell back, but he saw them all coming. "Bad touchy..." He would mutter at the hand disintegrating.

"Hato, Yumi! Head deeper into the mine, don't look back. Blitz, keep them safe. I will hold them off to give you all a chance to escape." Blitz his fur was slightly ruffled up as he took two hits direct on, having a bark given at that, he would direct them towards the entrance further. Yet Hato couldn't leave at that. "Alright, but promise you'll let us have some actual fun later. If not we're gonna have to spar, and I'm gonna kick your butt!" Hato was fierce in these words and would grin at the reply back. Having nodded on it, the mission was clear. "Got it... investigate the area and gain access if possible to collect further information that may lead to further arrests and quell the ever-rising threat that human trafficking creates." His eyes lowered at it, as they were both also a victim to it all. Yet he would go first through the small gap, Blitz would go last, Yumi seconds.

as the rubble finally cleared, Hato was coughing to get his breathing way clear again, he couldn't see anything in this darkness. But he recalled what happened seconds ago. "Dad?!" He would yell out and move towards the rubble area, an annoyed tsk and a punch on the rocks was made. "Fck!" he called out, the scolding was no problem anymore for this kid, but he did try to keep it subtle. Blitz would meanwhile attempt to help Yumi with his own mystical hand jutsu, by licking the other on the arm if that was possible. He would lick Hato on the leg to heal him a bit up. "Thanks, buddy..."He would scratch Blitz behind the ear. As they would slowly sit down, his eyes got adjusted to the dark. They needed a plan and he was the one in charge. Alright.. mission is clear." He started and looked towards the other two. "Let's keep it as dark as possible, not having extreme lights would be the better... Since we do not want unwanted attention, to light to the minimum... I can do a small fireball spark in my hand for example... but that is sort of how far I can go... as I am not fancy as you are Yumi." Yup, he complimented her lightning right now. Even blitz would hide his nose in his paw as he couldn't do anything either.
"Let's venture deeper... check everything and keep in check. My headset is dead... so my dad won't be too happy either.." As all there was crackling sounds, he placed it in his pouch. "you better be fine..." He looked back to the rubble before he would move forward.

For all his efforts in attempting to reach his father Hato's voice would not penetrate the large boulders that barred their way out. Their only hope, without risking another sort of cave-in, would be to venture in further to complete the mission as well as discovering a new way out of here. Yumi would scoff at Hato in his attempt to brown nose her, flattery would not go far with this young woman. "Tch, whatever. That was child's play. I just didn't want to waste my best moves on some lame Unbent." As dark as it was, it would still be noticeable that she would turn her nose up at Hato, apparently thinking herself better than he. Even so, she still acknowledged the fact that they should try and keep the lighting to a minimal just in case. She would nod in agreement as the impromptu leader of the squad, now Hato, declared that they would indeed be venturing deeper into the mines in search of whatever there was to be found.

Hato's fire would lightly illuminate the immediate area around them, giving them just enough visibility to see where they were going, but not was could be looming up ahead. Everything seemed devoid of life, or activity of any sort. No footprints other than the ones they were making themselves, no sounds aside from the occasional tick tacking of dirt and rocks naturally falling from the reinforced dirt walls. This place was truly a mine out of the ages, crude looking boards weathered from time lined the ceiling and walls, small piles of dirt every so often showing the state of degradation.

Soon the trio, Hato, Yumi, and Blitz, would find themselves at an intersection of sorts. The area seemed to serve as a pre-work area where the miners would have hung up their various equipment, or store their lunches and clock in and out. Though the area seemed relatively stripped of anything useful aside from a few helmets with headlamps and a few pieces of equipment, such as pickaxes, shovels and some sealed boxes. All came equipped with equally degraded looks that gave testament to their age and lack of recent use. Due to the lack of brightness they would not have been able to notice much else that seemed to be possibly useful. The room, however, coupled as a hub of sorts as it had multiple paths leading out of here. One way in, five other paths to take. Each one seemed no different than the other, each had power lines running down each of them, save one. The furthest on the left had multiple lines of power running out of it that connected to each of the other tunnels. Tiny lights hung from the lines, unlit, but there was no way to tell if they were actually functional. Another thing to note would be Hato's flame. However deeply subtle it was, his awareness of his own fire was still keen enough to notice the light flickering of the flame. There seemed to be a draft that was causing it, which meant only one thing. Another exit.

They were faced with a few options. Give up now and wait for Kaen to find them, as if that was really an option. Or they could investigate these various tunnels, hoping they picked the right one. Splitting up was also an option, however dangerous that could be should they face any sort of opposition such as an Unbent. Their choice would need to be put on hold however as a noise echoed down a particular path. It seemed to have come from the path with the power lines leading out of it that linked to the other tunnels, but it was hard to tell for certain. A few seconds later a voice could be heard, if only barely audible. Someone was coming, what would they do?

Earlier outside...

Kaen watched as his squad members rushed out the other side of his Black Blockade. He knew he had only a small window of opportunity before his massive meteor jutsu would come crashing down to annihilate the Unbent clawing their way into his barrier. Already they had stripped off a few of the obsidian scales that served as the exterior of the blockade, their rotting appendages swiping and clawing aimlessly into the dome. Utilizing the same technique Hato had just moments ago, Kaen too would replace himself with a clone to uphold the barrier, or at least make it appear so. Being a member of the Anbu Black Ops had many benefits. One such benefit was his excellent stealth capabilities and his natural skill that served this purpose. [Stalker] Nobody would notice, nobody would tell. Kaen was essentially invisible to any on lookers. Though he stood merely a few feet away from them, Kaen had managed to mask his presence entirely. The explosion would occur and the entry way was sealed. The unbent outside had perished, and to the three before him it would have seemed that Kaen had been trapped on the other side of the cave-in. Completely silent he was, Kaen would begin his official evaluation. [Snapshot Mastered]

"Tch, whatever. " And in his mind... the song would go. 'The bish came back, I thought she was a goner but the bish came back.' He left a small sigh, made a simple hand motion as he would start to move. They started to get towards where multiple tunnels would be. As he took a notice on his small flame, he would notice a draft. He moved towards each tunnel and noticed it was strong by only one. 'I honestly have to place more attention to this...' were his thoughts as he barely noticed it. But Blitz kept his ears perked up by one. "What is it boy..?" Blitz would reply with noises and small whimpers. "Noises..." He would think for a little and then move towards the small female.

'Hey yumi... There is a draft from the one, wires in the other... I would say take the draft one... A draft means wind, wind might mean another exit... What about you?"
"As much as a disagree with sensei putting you in charge, you're not as dumb as you look. That's what I would have thought too, we should probably follow it then." Yumi would pause for a moment as she looked at the wires coming out of the other tunnel. "I am curious about that one though, you think there might a generator down that way? If there is, and it's working, I'm betting whoever, or whatever might be in here is using it to see what the hell they are doing. I doubt everyone is going to be carrying around a flame like you just to see."

"My little flame is giving us a vision though! but fine... we will head that way, I will get on front, you the middle and blitz behind. He can keep on track of us."

"I mean, we don't have to. I'm just saying..." Yumi dug into her side pouch on her hip and pulled out a small stack of paper. "I have all these paper bombs, sabotage might be a good idea, I dunno. You're the leader right now, so it's really your call."

Hato would think... He had two options here...ba sabotage would be a good thing... But what would they exactly be sabotaging. " Say yumi... What exactly would we be sabotaging... Do you know more then I do?"

Yumi would giggle softly at the notion. She herself certainly thought she knew more than him, but not in the sense he probably meant. "No, just giving you my educated opinion. Someone has to be the brains of this operation." Yumi would playfully wink at Hato. In reality she knew nothing more than he did, everything was just speculation at this point without further inspection and investigation.

"Sometimes... I do forget that... You are experienced more in the field then that I am..." He would leave a sigh and start to move through it. As he was moving his hands would soon be found to make jutsu's and he would enter Active Camo. He wouldn’t turn invisible for the other but would be harder to see. As they would go closer towards the sounds and noises Hato would guide them towards a place to hide behind. He wouldn’t talk, just in case

As the noise grew closer, and louder, the tunnel would become increasingly brighter. Shadows danced across the walls as a pair of distinctly different voices approached. "And then I said, that's not a carnasaur, that's my wife!" The first voice bust out in laughter at what sounded to be the punch line of a very bad joke. A second voice sighed loudly in contempt, apparently un-amused. "First of all, your an idiot and your jokes are terrible. Where do you find these things, Leaf comedy books? Secondly, will you shut the hell up? Boss told us to check out the noise. What if there are intruders?" The first voice would chime in, with an annoyed scoff, once more without delay. "Don't get so bent out of shape. I highly doubt anyone would have been able to get past that horde of Unbent, plus this place has been abandoned ever since we killed the whole mining camp." The pair had come into view at this point and were slowly but surely approaching ever closer towards their hiding spot. "You don't know that for sure, plus we lost Souru a few weeks ago. For all we know Sunagakure picked him up and dug the information out of him. He was always a loose lipped imbecile." The first voice would laugh once more. "As if. I'm betting he got eaten by some Unbent or a damn sandworm or something. We're not going to find anything. It honestly just sounded like a cave in. And given the shitty craftsmanship of this mine I can hardly say I'm surprised."

Soon the voices passed by the barrels the trio had been hiding in. Yumi was fortunate enough to get her own barrel, but Hato and Blitz had crammed themselves into a single barrel that threatened to burst at any moment. For the moment it appeared they were in the clear. Or so they thought. Hato and Yumi had been so preoccupied with where to go, and where to hide, they had forgotten something incredibly important. "Hold up... Do you see that?" The second voice asked, alarm clearly in his tone. The first voice sounded unconcerned, but he had yet to notice. "See what? Yes, I see a bunch of tools and shit, some dust, a lack of food, oh and more tools." His reply was heavily laden with sarcasm, but his tone would quickly change when the second voice would grab him by the chin and point his head downward. His voice would be a whisper now, what was it that he had seen?

"Those..." It would suddenly go quiet. The small slits on the side of the barrel provided a little bit of visibility, but it was still fairly dark even with the lamp each of these men carried with them. From what they could have possibly seen from the barrel would be two grown men in some sort of masked attire. Not the traditional kind you might see the Anbu wearing, but these ones seemed more similar to ventilators. Slowly but surely the silhouettes of the men came ever closer towards their hiding spot. What was it that they had seen? Their footprints, of course. They had not taken the time to cover their trail in any sort of way. And so, though their hiding place was actually fairly good they had left themselves an unintentional bread crumb trail that led them straight to them. "You might as well come out, we know you're in there." The first voice would chime in again; "Yeah, or else we're gonna eat ya!" A split second later and an audible 'oof' could be heard as the second voice elbowed him in the side. "Would you shut it? Hey, whoever you are just come out. We're not going to hurt you." Could Hato and Yumi trust these guys? They seemed harmless, but there was no real way to know for certain.

 

[Sazuki Nao]

As they were at the end of the tunnel... Hato would lift Blitz in the barrel before letting Yumi pick her own and he followed. It was stuffed in his barrel, that was for sure, quite warm too due to Blitz... they both gave each other a glare as they both had it warm. They understood each other through emotion expressions and all that, so you could say there were arguing like a married couple at this point. Yet they still were having an ear open to the conversation as what was happening. "... we killed the whole mining camp." Hato's ears perked up, you didn't need to be like his dad, an ANBU to notice and hear that conversation. A small tsk was made inside his head, now they seemed to be in a lot more trouble then they should have been. 'Aaaah shit, I screwed up here didn't I...?' But as he thought that, the voices would grow closer. His grey hues tried to scan the area around the place for a better view. He had seen them, masked and all. So he knew for sure these people wouldn't be up for any good. Blitz even placed a paw on Hato's knee, which was also already an indicator. Hato gave him a little scratch behind the ear as a confirmation and he would soon be paying more attention.
"You might as well come out, we know you're in there."
"Yeah, or else we're gonna eat ya!"
"Would you shut it? Hey, whoever you are just come out. We're not going to hurt you."
'Yeaaa right....' sarcasm dripped off in his mind as he had to think quick... Now he could create a fire tornado... but what he also could do... They didn't had goggles on as far as he had seen, they had lights which meant they would be able to see him... What if... He made handsigns inside the barrel and would raise up. "You got me..." He would cheekily say and attempted to place a Genjutsu on them. False Surroundings with eye strain right after. He hoped that Blitz would be out there already so he could kick the barrel their way and distract them away from Yumi. "Can you still trust what you see?!" He shouted to let it echo a little, he had to keep her safe, them safe.

 

[Kaen]

"Ha, ya dumb kid. I can't believe you fell for -- AGH, fuck, my eyes man, my eyes!" The first voice shouted as he fell to his knees clutching his face in pain. The second voice however would remain unmoved, yet would say nothing. He appeared unresponsive at first, but quickly sat down next to the other man. "Will you just chill out? It's only a genjutsu, a weak one at that. It will be over soon and then we can chase him down." But the first one... let's call him Bob. Yes, Bob continued to writhe about crying about a terrible pain. "I can't, I can't do it man. It hurts so bad! Mommy! I want my mommy!" Now let's see here, I think we should call the second person Joe. Now Joe, he just sighed again. Joe at least seemed competent, unlike Bob. He was not as weak as Bob, nor as stupid. But his senses had been overwhelmed just as easily as Bob's. Joe would yell, not aware that Hato had yet to leave despite kicked the barrel their way. "YOU CAN RUN KID, BUT WE'RE GONNA FIND YOU. AND WHEN WE DO, WE'RE GONNA SLIT YOUR THROAT!!!" Quite the threat, one that Yumi would not sit idly by as she scrambled to exit her barrel, causing it to fall to the side and bust open leaving her temporarily breathless as the wind was knocked out of her. Dazed for a moment she would quickly climb to her feet and take off towards the tunnel that presumably led to the generator in question. She would not look back, nor would she listen if Hato told her to stop. For all they knew it was only Hato, she wasn't going to risk them thinking there were more of them.

He felt like giggling at the moment the other was calling out for his mom, but he was amazed by the fact that the guy was staying this calm regards what the genjutsu did. He knew they were tiny... but it was the best he knew at this very moment. A little sigh was given but he soon smirked. Mommy... He felt like snickering and heard Yumi fall over, he wanted to go towards her but didn't in the end. Blitz would guard her out but remained with Hato. As soon as the other man sad... Slit your throat, that tune, something triggered with the boy. His eyes grew cold, his smile faded and it was almost like he was looking death in the eye. As fast as he could move he would be found behind the Bob, the kunai he had already picked out of his pouch... And a clean stroke was given inside the man's neck, then removed. Due to his ability to human anatomy, he knew where to cut so he couldn't make sounds anymore. Within a few moments... the man fell. "you're next..." His words cold, sinister and he would attempt to launch himself towards the man with his kunai out once more, he would kill him too.

 

[Kaen]

With one decisive stroke Hato's Kunai would split the man's flesh asunder like a knife through butter. The noises that followed might very well have haunted the average person for years to come. Had this been the first time Hato had taken someone's life? If so this surely would be one not easily forgotten. Unable to speak further, due to his larynx being severed by the sharp steel of Hato's blade, his focus left his face entirely. Bare hands felt around the gash as they trembled from shock. A wet, gurgling sound bubbled out of the newly formed orifice on his neck, blood splattered and gushed out like a crimson, molten iron with a smell to match. The man's eyes, unable to see due to the genjutsu placed on him, bulged outwards as he quickly came to terms with the fact that he would bleed out at any moment. And then the commotion suddenly stopped as the man's body slumped over, blood still slowly oozing out as the last bit of pressure from his heart pumped it out. His eyes, however, remained open and unmoving, staring straight towards Hato as if to say 'how could you..."

Moving on to his secondary target he would find that Joe had already managed to break free from the genjutsu and grabbed hold of Hato's arm while using his other hand to punch the Kunai away from his grip. It clattered lightly to the ground a few feet away. But now the fight was on as this larger man began to grapple with Hato. A swift knee to the gut would send Hato reeling away in recoil giving Joe the chance to grab the Kunai off of the ground. But Hato was no ordinary kid, no. Hato was a shinobi of Sunagakure, son to Kaen, suna's war machine. As the man turned around he would be caught off guard as a large plume of fire set his clothing aflame. Quick and unwilling to just lay down and die, Hato would do a combat roll over the knife and pick it up and lunged toward the man. Contact was made and the kunai was planted firmly within the man's gut. A sickly groan escaped the man's mouth as he realized he had just been stabbed and bent over before falling to his side, the fire still lightly sizzling away. Joe had ceased moving all together now and then Hato was alone. Except Blitz of course.

In the mindset of years ago... The mindset of an animal raised to kill, formed to kill, to be something that he was not. After a second that the first one died, he was grabbed. Yet he wasn't snapping out of it if at all, he used more and more so he could go faster and harder. A small 'tsk' sound was made as he formed a few handseals. He would then make fire around and within seconds he held his weapon again. He didn't smile still, didn't launch. There was no facial expression and he would soon stab the other.

It was Blitz who slowly got closer towards him, slowly would lick Hato's hand which held the weapon. "hn--?" He would look down, saw his companion and he would crouch down to hug him. "Blitz...." He would be sounding soft and it took him a moment to grab his bearings. "It still Is there.." He would mutter and move towards the place where he had seen Yumi go. "Y-yumi?!" He would try to call out and move behind the other. His mind still thinking about what he had done. as he moved he tried to look more at the surrounding as his guard was up now

 

[Kaen]

Panicked breathing echoed down the long corridor as Yumi aimlessly ran through the darkness, only able to see maybe a couple feet ahead of her. But in her pent up fear that was finally released her flight or fight kicked in, and she chose flight. In reality she was a mess. She played it cool, trying to appear unwavering and stoic when around Kaen and Hato. But she was truly afraid. The Unbent outside had nearly sent her into a full fledged panic attack, but due to both of the Shinku's efforts she remained calm enough to endure the fight. But the fear of losing her life when those other too made her feel like her heart was ready to burst right out of her chest. And so, driven by panic and fear she would run as fast as she could. And then suddenly there was nothing underfoot, the ground had simply disappeared. Or so it seemed. In reality she had actually just missed the staircase that led to the lower floor, but it seemed she preferred a more direct approach to getting to the bottom. Sadly she was unaware of all of this and ran straight off the edge. The fall was not far, but it was enough to break her leg and the impact her head made knocked her unconscious immediately. Yumi was out...

And so when Hato would call out for Yumi there would be no reply, no noise what so ever. Well, perhaps Hato would have heard a subtle thud far off in the distance, but it would not be distinct enough for him to recognize it was Yumi's sudden stop at the bottom that made the noise. And so here Hato stood alone, with Blitz of course, but ultimately alone. Two dead bodies laid at his feet, done in by his own hand, blood seeped into the hard ground below, an equal amount was on his hands as well as his clothes. It had gotten a little messy, but such is the life of a Shinobi. What would be Hato's next move?

Though young, Hato's moral compass was straight and true. He believed in the notion that nobody should be left behind. Even someone as annoyingly stubborn and arrogant as Yumi. And thus after whatever he needed to do or take care of here Hato would proceed to go down the tunnel that Yumi had sprinted through. Hopefully he would not make the same mistake as she did and run off the edge. Surely he would see the winding staircase that brought him to a lower level.

This area seemed different than the rest, more... up to date you could say. The walls were not comprised of dirt but hard cement, the floors were tiled with a scuffed and dirty white color. Upon arrival he would not find Yumi's body. Instead he would see a trail of blood that had been spilled from the impact to her head. It appeared to have been dragged away, and not by her own volition. There was only one other path, and the electrical wires all ran down this hallway. There was really nothing of note down here, it seemed to only serve as another level to this intricate mine.

Should Hato decide to delve even deeper into the unknown, following the trail of blood towards Yumi, he would eventually come to a new room that would require no fire to illuminate the area. The room had another staircase leading up to another level with another corridor. But most notable, and most important was the screens. A number of lit screens sat just above a control panel of sorts. But it all seemed so run down and shoddy it was hard to imagine any of it was working at all. But the screens DID work, and what they revealed would be disturbing to say the least. The first couple of monitors would show little more than empty tunnels that seemed to span on forever. But on one screen he would see a large, crudely constructed pen that housed multiple Unbent. But these were different, they had been... modified. They had no arms, none of them. In addition they also seemed to have had their eyes plucked out leaving only their sense of smell and hearing. It was hard to tell just where this room was at, but they were somewhere in here.

Another screen would show an operating room. This one was very unlike the rest given that it appeared very clean and white, sterile and not in a state of decay like everything else in here. Another screen would show Yumi in a cage with a rather large man standing guard over not only Yumi, but multiple other children. They had found it, another trafficking ring. There was no sound coming from any of the monitors, it was video only. But you could clearly tell the children were filled with dread and horror, a few appeared to be weeping, others seemed dead as their eyes stared blankly ahead. Yumi was still un-moving and looked to be unconscious still.

Finally Hato would look at the last few remaining monitors. One showed a living area with multiple bunks, a few with people sleeping in them. Another one that showed a room with two seemingly dead bodies laying on the floor and finally the very room he was standing in. And directly behind both Hato and Blitz stood a figure much taller than Hato. "I don't think you belong here..." The man spoke just as soon as Hato realized he was not alone in the room. Just as Hato would turn around, or make any sort of action, heck... if he did nothing it all it wouldn't matter. Everything would go black...

He didn't want this feeling anymore, he didn't want to have this urge anymore. Yet it still did happen. He cleaned off his kunai and started to call out for the bish little girl Yumi. Yet even his hearing picked up a thud, he didn't think of much. He just went on further with his guard up. "Tsk.. always getting lost..." he would assume she got lost, but he did notice footprints, hastily ones. "Guess she went this way..." He would softly say and let Blitz go after him down the stairs. Blitz, however, didn't think this was a rather good route to go, he was hesitant to follow Hato and even said something was off. Hato would explain to Blitz that he, Yumi, and himself were a team, and in a team, you don't leave people out. You take care of them, all of them.
Blitz slowly would agree to the point where they were heading down. At the bottom, their noses were filled with this irony smell of blood. Hato crouched down and started to look at the traces below. "Whatever happened here... it is not good." He whispered towards Blitz, who now had his tail low. "Blitz, track." Blitz would take the lead now, his nose near the ground, but off enough to not smear the blood on his nose. Hato kept an eye out and a kunai ready in his hand, he would defend them no matter what. He would fight anyone that would be in the way.

As he got towards the area with all the screens, he somewhat lowered his guard. His eyes narrowed a little as he took the information towards himself. The first one seemed to have tunnels. "Tsk... they knew we were here..." He muttered below his breath as he looked further. 'They knew we were here all along...' His eyes followed to the next one... A shiver left him as he saw that operating room. 'At least she isn't there... Thank hecky...' A sweatdrop would easily be seen as he hated hospitals... He didn't care, he hated them thanks to the past. The next one finally had her. "Blitz... there she is.." Blitz would perk up and look up also, his nose didn't pick up anything strange. "She seems to be knocked out... lets go blitz, lets save them." He would sound certain of things, but what he didn't notice was the person finding hato. As he heard the voice his eyes grew wide. He would soon be found to turn but as he turned he felt a sharp pain. Inky blackness would soon be found taking over and with a thud he fell to the ground. The kunai would scatter a few meters away, along with the clatter. Even Blitz lay motionless on the ground.

He could swear he heard a drip... 'What the....' Slowly, really slowly he would open up his eyes, unsure of his situation not much information seemed to come through. His head felt heavy as he tried to look up. 'The voice!' It was a spurt that he tried to move but found himself unable. "A--?!" He left out a gasp as he tried to move. But much else then arching his back he couldn't get a lot moving. The rattling of chains were to be heard overwhelming. "TSK!?" He would leave a very annoyed sound as he tried to look through the room. His canine companion lay defeated on the ground, muzzled and tied up. He was a shinobi's dog, but even he couldn't get out of this one. 'Blitz!" Hato called out, but he didn't move much, his fighting spirit was already dimming. "Don't give up buddy! I will get us out of here!" And he rattled the chains once more. But this was without luck. "Can't move!" he would bite on his lip for a second, not hard enough to draw blood but leave a small imprint, he had to think... There had to be a way out... but how..

 

[Kaen]

"Don't give up buddy! I will get us out of here!" A small laugh came from a darkened corner of the room in response to this notion of escape. Leaning forward in his chair the light would hit face to reveal the man that had knocked him and Blitz out cold. "I don't think you're going anywhere boy. At least not until you tell me what I want to know." The man would rise up from his chair and walk a little closer to Hato, speaking as he did so. "Tell me, where is the rest of your team? Someone as young as yourself and miss prissy pants wouldn't have been sent here alone. And there's no way you stumbled upon it by accident given we left a special welcoming part up top for anyone coming unannounced. The man stood only a food away from Hato now, his cold, black eyes staring down at Hato with malcontent. "Tell me and you and your little girlfriend will be free to go." Yumi was nowhere in sight, there was also nobody else in the room with them. A cart with various tools was pushed up against the wall, and cabinets right above. A large table with straps was over on the other side of the room with multiple tubes and wires hanging loosely above that seemed to lead to some sort of console. What was this place?

 

[Sazuki Nao]

He froze up for a moment as the other spoke, why didn't he notice him? Why didn't he smell him? Blitz didn't move much, he had already met the man before. His flight or fight... was more a fight instance, and as she other spoke he tried to get loose. 'Let me get him! I wanna punch him!' Words echoed inside his head as he gritted his teeth with a soft smirk. As he heard the other, he wanted to protest regards of them being a couple, which wasn't true at all. But he took a moment to breathe. He lay his head a bit back and through a short answer. If he was a brat... he would act like a brat. "Don't worry, I don't have the time nor the crayons to explain it to you." He would attempt once more to get loose. " Alright, maybe the time I have, but still not the crayons." Pulling a joke with the other as he wasn't going to tell the other. He was, however, slight shivering on the room they were in. "And if you really want to know, we came in here alone!" He snapped at the other, trying to kick, but the chains rattled and would remain there. He wasn't strong enough to kick them loose. Blitz tried to move now finally, he would turn around from the post and tried to pull too, but his collar was far tighter and his paw was tied too. He couldn't do much either and would sit down.
Only now Hato looked around, and he noticed all these different things... Now he had heard of interrogation rooms, mostly those from his time at the academy... But at this the boy looked back, not much phased by it, but it was actually a stage set up. He was a bit worried by now.

 

[Kaen]

The man would give a lamenting sigh as Hato gave delivered his "joke". "I'm not sure you understand the severity of the situation you have found yourself in." The man would walk over and pull the stainless steel, wheeled tray over to where Hato was and pulled a scalpel from the various tools found there. With a single motion he would rip the shirt away and off of Hato leaving his bare chest exposed. The man would push the sharp blad against Hato's stomach and start to slide it sideways. The cut was not deep enough to spill his guts, but it was enough to cause pain. "I don't have any crayons either, but i've recently come into possession of a most lovely red paint. I'm painting a large room, so I may need a lot. But I could live with just this amount if only some small, stupid, helpless boy would tell me what I want to know. Where is your sensei, and don't lie to me. I know full well the logistics of Sunagakure's systems. I was once a shinobi there, myself. Until I was liberated that is..." A tiny clink would sound out as the man placed the scalpel back down on the table cart and his eyes would peer into Hato's once more, a devilish grin painted across his face.

 

[Sazuki Nao]

His body made the reaction to tense up to the sudden pain. He closed his eyes and through training from his last captivity, he took control over his breathing, forcing his body to calm down. He had to remain control over his body to not worse the situation for himself. "That toy hurts..." He would give an awkward chuckle on that, but he was right... He was bleeding now. "I have seen that you had monitors inside the other room." He would, probably not handy moment, get witty with him. "Those monitors were displaying tunnels... You already had seen us enter, now I guess the mommy caller and the other were a set guard point. Unsure if you can change angels on those things... Then you know they won't be around much longer... Anyhoo--" He would feel the blood slowly moving downwards, which had a rather... odd feeling. Blitz already had been growling from where he sat, he wasn't happy that Hato was hurt. "You have also seen that when we entered, there was no adult coming along, our 'sensai'. The tunnel collapsed as you saw on one of them I am sure, so I am afraid we don't even have a clue, due to the cave in, we aren't even sure if he is around or not. If you have been a shinobi, liberated what ever that means... you know the codes." He would wait... Did the other get closer or not, if he would. Hato would attempt to headbud him, if he wasn't he would sigh. He was worried over his father, this was a given fact. "Question in return... Those ungulate those sthinky things, those you have are without arms... Are those ex miners?" He already had noticed those were gone... He just tried to trade information that was all

 

[Kaen]

Hato would succeed at headbutting the older man, in which the man would respond by punching Hato in the gut right where he had cut him. "That wasn't very nice, but I can see you're no stranger to pain. That will make this difficult." He would pause for a moment before looking over towards Blitz. "But not that difficult." He would listen to Hato's question and then answer him gladly. "Those things? No no, those are just regular mindless Unbent. We removed their arms and eyes so we can use them like boars to pull our sleds. They never die and never tire, it just made sense. Those miners, yeah we fed them to the Unbent. Not much else we could do with them." His tone was cold and heartless and showed no remorse for the actions he had caused.

The man would leave Hato's side and walk towards blitz, toting the cart along behind him slowly. "Very good of you to give me some sort of answer though. So we know he's a HE, and an adult and not some Chuunin brat. That's good. But you still haven't told me where he is." Taking a pair of pliers he would take on putt and place it on Blitz's head to pin him down while he reached down to grab hold of Blitz's back paw. The dog would flail and kick, but the man was just too strong. Taking the pliers he would grab hold of one of the canine's claws and pull slowly. Instantly Blitz's yelps would fill the air, piercing Hato's ears in pain. With another light 'plink' the man would let the claw he pulled out fall onto the cart's surface. "Shall we try again? Where is he?"

 

[Sazuki Nao]

Hato felt his head collide with the other's head. Smirking he would find his little victory a celebration, but that celebration was cut short with the punch. He gasped for air and would lower his head. "A-t-t..." he flinched for a bit, now that did hurt... a lot. His eyes watered as he looked to the ground, slowly looking back up as the man started to talk once more. "Heh... in that way huh... So they feast on flesh... never to old to learn.." He would spit some salvia on the ground as he looked towards him. "Well... I gave you bits of answers... the question, if he is alive, is the next one..." He would grumpily mutter. He had a little plan... What if he were to be able to heat up his chakra... That way he might burn through the chains... Yet before he could finish his trail of thoughts.. he saw Blitz being pinned down. His heart stopped for a moment, fearing for his friend. "Oi! Leave him!" He would yell out to the other. Blitz was used to pain, but this was unfair. Nails had a lot of nerfs in them, they were quite deep inside the paw even.
The yelps, the howls, the growls, and the barks filled the air. "STOP!" he yelled out to the man. At this point, he was very annoyed at himself that he couldn't do single-handed seals. He tried to tug more on the chains, Blitz tried to get away from the man, showing his teeth. But he didn't had much luck either. "I don't know okay?! There was this massive explosion and the cave collapsed!" He gritted his teeth and did try his way. Heat up his chakra in a hope to get out, he had to defend him.
