Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Entry 1: Establishing the Lab said:
The day had finally come when Shin was given the laboratory that he had asked Kyuji for. The young Mednin in Training did not want to have the run of the mill office as his focus was in that of research and development. Had he received an office he would have to take trips to work on crafting his new methods and having to request lab space and time, but by having his own personal labe he did not need to have to worry about such extra steps in his studies. What were his studies? that he wasn't sure of yet, all he knew was that he wanted to do something to help the majority of the village. Having only a small lab for now he knew that he had to start to small to reflect the space that he was given.

Holding onto a piece of paper the young boy would periodically look at it to see where the lab was actually held, and much to his surprise it was in the section of the Omni Prime reserved for the residential medical supplies. Which meant that he would have a curfew most likely. Letting out a sigh he would turn the corner towards the practice labs that were normally given to the first year Mednin, but he had an the exception. Room number 5978 he slowly made his way up to the fifth floor of the hospital and down to the ninth corridor. His lab was off in the corner, almost in the furthest section of the building. The south side of this corridor seemed abandoned which was something he was honestly okay with. That meant he did not have to worry about annoying lab neighbours or the constant nagging to borrow certain goods and resources. Letting out a deep sigh the boy finally made it to his laboratory.

Opening the door the boy could smell the musk and the mildew as this wing of the hospital was rarely ventured. Old notes and what appeared to be unwanted books layed strewed about as it looked like whoever used this lab last was in a hurry. That just meant more work for Shin. Regardless the young Yamanaka would get to work. Sending out a current of chakra strings from his hands he would begin to move the mass of books laying about to reveal what kind of furniture was in there. To the north wall there was about four bookshelves, which were originally empty but now had sparse books upon them as Shin began to store his findings. Another quick movement of his fingers and the pile of pages that laid on the small operating table were wrapped up together and laid in the bookcase's bottoms which were built to help scrolls. Shin continued from the north side to the east. A desk with an old computer, which probably wasn't up to date with the latest operating systems, set next to what appeared to be a set of lockers. That could come in handy if the young child ever invited colleagues in to help him with his work.

To the south were two large crates with locks and to the west was a cabinet that would be perfect to hold the utensils and equipment of the trade. There was a generous amount of floor space for how small the room actually was but nevertheless Shin knew that he would be able to get to fill that as he needed to. Weaving a few hand seals the boy would begin to stir up a wind around his body which would cause the dust in the room to stir up like crazy. Quickly going to the window the boy would push it open before completely releasing his jutsu to blast the old dust out of his new lab. But he wasn't' quite done. Another series of hand seals would summon forth water from the air which quickly moved around the room blasting any of the old mildew, as he also tried his best to avoid any delicate materials such as the books and computer. With a smile on his face he began to see it more clearly, the lab was rather beautiful in his opinion. The walls were a stucco tan and the floors were a vibrant white marble. The hooden structures were a soft oaky color while the tools and tables were a clean gray metal. This room would suffice, so for now he would continue to clean but using another wind style jutsu to help speed up the process of drying. Walking around slowly to remove the extra moisture he would take it all in. This room was his to do as he pleased, he could feel that this would be the beginning of an amazing journey that would lead to self discovery.

Entry 2: Stocking the Lab! said:
Shin had been assigned this beautiful lab just the day before when he received a long distant mind link from his Mother. The Visions he received were that of the Midnight Bloom flower. It was a tricky one, as it would only bloom under specific conditions, and it appeared that his mother's greenhouse matched those requirements recently. With a smile on his face the boy knew he was being contacted by his mom because she was letting him know to stock up on these toxic blossoms as they were used in numerous medications. Turning the halls and leaving the corridors Shin made his way to the general hospital. Smiling at one of the receptionists he would let her know that he was going to be out of the office for a while as his mother's Midnight Blooms were in season. WIth a smile she would let him know that other nurses would be taking any of his shifts if he doesn't make it back in time. With a quick smile the boy was on his way. Tote bag around his shoulder filled with seal scrolls he wanted to maximize this opportunity.

Making his way through the village he would slowly make his way to the tall wall which was the divider of old Suna and Project Rebirth. His family moved up top not to long ago, so the journey was something the boy was used to. The slow trip up the small staircase was a long one, but having taken this path to and from not only the Omni Prime but the Academy has built up his endurance immensely. Step by step the boy could feel the pain in his leg but this was nothing compared to some of his trainings. After a few minutes he was finally up top. A quick little break at a vendor to get a bottle of water the Yamanaka child would make his way to the Sunan Residences where his family maintained the greenhouse. A turn here and a turn there and he would see the beautiful glass structure filled with green foliage that was a stark contrast to the brassy sands that built the village. Going to the door a smile inched on his face as this was were he spent most of his academy years. Working alongside his mother he crafted numerous poisons that were the trade mark of the Yamanaka, even though she always told him that there was more to him than meets the eye. As if foreshadowing a great change his mother always told him how powerful his mind was and how much she loved him.

Snapping back to reality he would step in and be filled with the moisture of the room. Tall roses and beautiful shrubs everywhere you looked. His mother had collected specimens from across the nations to build this dwelling of green within this desert of tan. Taking the memorized path to the upper level it took no time at all for Shin to find the Midnight Bloom. These toxic flowers were beautiful in every regard and had such a delicate growth pattern. Quickly laying out his scrolls the boy would snip three stems at a time to seal them within his scrolls as he took about half of the blossoms. While he was there he also grabbed stock of a few other medicinal plants and stored them in scrolls of varying colors and patterns to make sure he wouldn't confuse them later on as he crafted the medicines he would need in his line of work. With the sealing down the boy rolled his scrolls back up and began to make his descent back down stairs. A quick hug as he ran into this mother and some minor chit chat about how the medical branch was treating him before he was off.

Heading back down the wall and to the hospital Chikamatsu Shin would make his way to the corridor where his lab was and find his way to his study. With a smile on his face Shin would lay the bag full of small scrolls down before sending out threads from his fingers. These chakra lines would connect to each vessel before relocating them to the lower sections of his bookshelves, placing them in alphabetical order based on their scientific names. Walking to his desk the Phantom Lord would take notes on his computer establishing the quantities he had retrieved as logging their known uses and attributes. With a smile on his face the young boy knew that this was just the beginning of his journey and that he would be able to call himself a Mednin in no time. Standing up from his desk he would look around the room to make sure all of the supplies that he had so far were all in place he would then turn off the lights and leave his lab for another day.

Entry 3: The Formation of the Specialization said:
Shin let out a yawn as he had been spent most of the day setting up his now finished lab. Now in the corner sat two glass cylindrical tanks, which Shin had designed by himself. He had a plan that he had been working on to impress his master, Byakko Kyuji. She was such an amazing role model and graciously bestowed some of her mystical holy chakra on the boy to help him grow strong, so he now needed to use this power to prove that it had not gone to waste. The young Yamanaka had spent hours studying anatomy and theoretical application of chakra’s potential to alter the deoxyribonucleic acid which essentially structure the way the creature’s body would form. He had plenty of practice with manipulating the genome thanks to working with his mother in the greenhouse. The two of them spent years working on strengthening and weakening the sperm and egg cells of various plants to produce the desired qualities of their offspring, and Shin even dabbled in crossbreeding similar plants. This formation of a new subspecies wasn’t revolutionary and has been done as long as man had practiced agriculture.

With a smile on his face Shin would walk up to his desk which was perfectly clean. Sending out chakra threads the boy would lock onto two scrolls from the bookshelf on the right, and a single large scroll from the bookshelf on the left. The two smaller scrolls laid down to the far right side of the table, as the larger scroll floated to his hand. Setting it down the boy unraveled the empty scroll as he grabbed a brush and the well of ink from one of the drawers to his work desk. The clean metallic table was quite a bit larger than the scroll that had a width of two feet. Unraveled, Shin’s scroll showed about five feet of blank white thick paper. Now concentrating the boy would dip his brush tip in the well, leaving it there for a few seconds as the fresh fibers would pull and absorb the pitch black liquid. Slowly and softly the young boy would run the brush against the edge of the well to help prevent any ink from dripping, and then he began forming his chakra sigil. Softly creating the symbols and runes that he believed would be needed for this Shin began to have small beads of sweat form on his forehead as he was channeling his chakra into this scroll. As the chakra was pumping into the ink a slight purple cast would be visible as the light reflected off of the soft and silky surface. A few strokes in and the typical formation of medical jutsu was clearing being changed, a shift towards the seals in wooden jutsu were placed on this scroll. Shin finished it up by making two spiraling circles that met in the center as their outer tails drifted to the center and merged.

Letting out a sigh the boy would lay his brush down above the scroll as he had spent much of his chakra on this seal. Now grabbing the other two scrolls he would unravel them across the two spiraling circles. Each scroll held a different potted plant that had no genetic relations. With a deep sigh the boy placed his hands together, locking his middle finger before twisting his hands to allow one palm facing upwards and the other downward. Slowly pulling his hands apart his chakra began to spiral around himself and then upon the two newly open scrolls. The cylindrical spires of energy on the scrolls revealed two pots, one had brought forth the Night Bloom and the other summoned the Ninja’s Wolfsbane of the Yamanaka Clan’s private collection. Though they had similar properties they did not possess similar genetic sequences. Now with his arms fully pulled apart the plants began to dematerialize completely. The glowing blue forms that were once plants began to flicker, causing the boy to wince in the chakra backlash. Then, in a final movement, Shin clapped his hands together quickly, causing the glowing plants to smash together causing a loud pulse of chakra to emit.

Being knocked back onto his rear from the large pulse of chakra from Shin’s newly formulated jutsu the room would darken as the electricity would die, though only momentarily. Pushing himself up from the ground he could see steam coming from his desk, though he couldn’t see what he had created. Finally getting back onto his feet the boy’s face would stretch into a smile. The navy colored Night Bloom and the violet Ninja’s Wolfsbane was no more. There in place of the two, sitting in the center of the large scroll, the hybrid flower was resting in a larger pot than the two had been before. The stems were long and slim like the Night Bloom, but there were poisonous thorns of the Ninja’s Wolfsbane covering it. The bloom was tight in the center and quickly bellowed in a wide set floral display. It was beautiful. The petals were vaguely striped as the two colors had merged together ever so slightly and the leaves were a deep green. The simple leaves of the Night Bloom were long and thin, but the Ninja’s Wolfsbane had compound wider leaflets. This fusion was interesting as the leaves were in fact compounded but their leaflets were thick and waxy. This specimen was beautiful. He was happy with his results, but he wanted to know what else he could do to strengthen the power of this jutsu. His mind began to roam as he was curious to see how he could use this technique in other manners. The idea of crafting new life was truly fascinating.

A quick series of hand seals and the boy created a scroll out of his chakra as well as a floating quill. Quickly writing his notes the young boy smiled as the scroll would ravel up and become sealed, only unlocking at the presence of Shin’s chakra. Another hand seal and he would summon forth a clone of himself that would grab the scroll from in the air before heading out the door to deliver his results to his sensei, Kyuji.

Entry 4: Breaking Down it's Principles! said:
Walking into the lab and reaching for the lightswitch, the young Mednin would let out a sigh as the lights flickered on. He had successfully manufactured a genetic hybrid, a cross-species if you would, of two similar looking plants that had very different genome. The Yamanaka child was already taking samples of it to the pharmaceutical department within the Omni Prime Medical Complex to see if the mixture of the two genetic sequences would manifest some unknown beneficial ingredient that could be used in their medicines to further promote their field. Regardless of its medicinal uses Shin was already aware that this flower, in its natural form, was extremely toxic and could be used to manufacture more potent toxins, which in turn could aid in the manufacturing of better antidotes. The varying purples of the flower petals were beautiful to see but the long throned covered stems were where the dangers truly lied.

Pulling his mind away from the studies he wasn't working on himself he would once again become present in his own lab. With a wave of his hand the boy would once again send out small chakra threads that his father taught him to emit and connect them to a few books that he had stored in his bookcase. Clenching his fingers inwards the boy would bring them closer to his current position as he walked to his desk. Upon sitting down at the chair near the wall he would turn his back to lay against the sterile wall as the books he was stringing along began to land in a nice pile beside him. A yawn took control of his face as he reached out to the first book. This session was beginning to focus on the Animalia Kingdom rather than the Plantae, and he wanted to start with something simple. He knew that animal DNA was extremely tricky and if done incorrectly the creature would be in excruciating pain. To say the least he was nervous about failing this test. A pulse of red came from the boy as he shifted the page and continued reading, and within mere moments footsteps would be heard coming towards Shin. There she stood, the enigma that was named Kohana and what Shin has learned to be called a Persona stood before him. The art Genjutsu was such a fickle thing and was ever developing and the Yamanaka has heard reports of people of other villages having similar phenomenon happening to them. A snap of his fingers and open gesture he boy would conjure his Doctrine Seal to begin taking notes, but this time there were two scrolls. One for his own records and the other to take to his Medical Chief, Byakko Kyuji.

Her face was so similar to Shin's that it was uncanny, almost as if they were siblings. Her hair longer than Shin's and her clothes filled out differently due to her feminine build she was essentially Shin's aide. The two have had their ups and downs. Their relationship still wasn't perfect but she understood the importance of the Phantom Lord's work. Stepping out of the room and down the hallway Shin was able to speak to her without a single word. Continuing to read his book the boy would stand up and have the book float around the room so it could stay within his field of vision. Grabbing an empty scroll from the locker he would lay it out across his work desk, fully extending the empty sheet. Sighing deeply the boy's hand would glow as a long brush would form within his grasps. "Ninja Art: Alchemist Seal.."<i></i> Black ink would begin to form from the tip as long runic designs and sigils would be placed upon the scroll. Zoning out the boy's hand moved quickly and efficiently as it would create the seal needed to execute his Philosopher's Seal jutsu which is what ultimately created the chimera hybrids. Knowing that such beasts were already an existing part of the ninja world Shin was slowly working on the creation of a jutsu that would make those creations appear to be child's play. His end goal was for the formation of life itself.

Letting out a deep sigh the boy would allow the brush to once again dissipate back into the formless chakra it had originated from. The seal was ready and all he needed now were the subjects that Kohana was going to retrieve from the laboratory. As she stepped back in a smile would form on the Yamanaka's face as he saw the small terrarium that was home to the elusive Sunan Ground Toad and a small planter that was home to a budding Kalanchoe tetraphylla, which was commonly called the Desert's Cabbage. She would pull the toad out from the terrarium that was being held by the soul he had summoned and placed the small amphibian on the scroll. A pulse of chakra and the dry toad was asleep due to Shin's genjutsu. Shifting his attention to that of the plant he carefully derooted it and placed the full plant on the scroll as well after removing as much soil as possible. Kohana stepped to the desk on the side of the room where she placed the small planter in the terrarium before becoming ethereal once again.

Closing his eyes the Medic placed his hands together, locking his middle finger before twisting his hands to allow one palm facing upwards and the other downward. Exhaling very slowly the boy's seal would begin to glow as the spirals and sigils would slowly begin to move and wrap around the two specimens which were drastically different. Looking up to the book that was floating in the air Shin's eyes skimmed quickle over the way that animals consumed and worked on energy incorporation. He needed to allow the synthesised energy from the chloroform to work well with the mitochondria, the powerhouse of the cell, to allow for optimal use of energy. The complex digestive system and nervous system would be worked with the cellular walls and the merging of the circulatory system and the use of sap based glucose delivery was far more intricate than he originally planned. He could feel every cell in both of the organism as he pulled them together and pumped them full of chakra. The toad, which was a hefty twenty pounds was no ordinary toad. This toad was four to five times larger than other species in the area, which is why Shin was using it. The larger size allowed for more control of the intricate details to it's form.

The process probably took about five minutes to correctly and carefully attatch the bulb to the toad but upon completion Shin was satisfied with his work. Dropping to his knee due to the shear expense it took on his body the boy winced a single eye in pain. Hopefully this was the only pain being felt in the room as he did his best to marry the nervous systems perfectly. Pushing on the table to once again stand on his feet firmly Shin looked down upon the hybrid he had created and smiled. "Saisho... You are my first... You are my precious creation, please be okay."<i></i> His hands began to emit a green aura as he placed them on the chimera. The genjutsu would come to an end and the beast would begin moving once again. Muffled chirps and barks came from its mouth as it tried to attain balance. A few stumbled and a few faceplants into the table made Shin chuckle, which in turn caused the small monstrosity to smile. The creature didn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort and Shin began to wonder if it had developed an attachment to him due to the shear amount of chakra that was pumped into its body. Saisho was a successful creation, and the first attempt of a hybrid from different life Kingdoms.

The plant/toad hybrid would slowly step towards the Mednin responsible for its creation and much to his surprise two vines, which resembled amphibious tongues stretched from both of its sides just under the bulb and landed on Shin's face. A warm chirp would escape from its mouth at it seemed to pet Shin and showed affection. Laughter came from the medic from the shock of seeing this happen as it was nowhere near planned. That just confirmed to him that his creations are in fact taking traits after him and advancing past what he originally had hoped that they would be. Petting the strange creature before picking it up Shin would make his way to the Terrarium from which it came and placed it back into its home. Shifting his weight to pick up the glass enclosure the boy would walk across the room and place the tank on a shelf near a window to help optimize the solar intake for his creation.

Placing his hand on the glass Shin would speak to his little monstrosity in a soft motherly tone. "Do not fret little one, I will protect you."<i></i> Taking his hand off of the glass he would walk to the two scrolls which were writing down every detail of the events that were happening in this room. The first was carefully sealed and placed into the scroll locker in which Shin was keeping track of his progress and the other was for Kyuji. A deep sigh slipped from the boy's lips as he was anxious to see how she would respond to something a tad more drastic than creating a new flower species. His funding was low and if she cut his research he didn't know what he would have to do to keep it going. This felt right. It felt like the right path for him and that something good would come from it after his research completed.
