Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

After his running leap from the tree-lines near the Academy, he landed atop the Aurora Eruditio's roof, with a running stop; he hopped skipped and skidded a bit to catch himself before falling onto the tiles or worse. One might wonder what he could possibly be fleeing from? After-all, he didn't normally run from things~ in-fact, he was more akin to simply hiding. But there wasn't many places to hide that a person with enough dedication could find said hiding place. So, the option of fleeing was both ideal, and a bit humoring to himself.

Giving a furtive glance to the tree-lines he let out a heaved breath as there wasn't any immediate rustling. He anticipated an angry little-girl was hot on his tail~ Not long ago, he made a promise of buying ice-cream as a reward for succeeding; problem. She succeeded, and he forgot his wallet. So he mentioned being unable to pay for the ice-cream and she wasn't pleased. With little experience calming down angry people, girls especially he felt obligated to evade the topic and the angry looking expression he could have swore he saw~ Maybe it was being delusional.

"Phew... I think I lost her..." Closing his eyes a moment, he took a moment to feel the air brush against his cheeks and ruffle his hair gently. It was around then he took a moment to process just how high up he was. Poking one eye open into his half-lidded state, he felt a bead of sweat drizzle down the side of his face. "Well... That'd certainly be a bad thing to fall." Standing straight up, he cast a side-long glance to the tree-line again. His mind had been racing for solutions if she somehow found her way up here. Perhaps, he could create another means to train her; even if it was a bit dangerous.

"LIIAR!" Suddenly echoed a loud exclamation from through the once calm foliage. As the roar of a lion, this exclamation too also held all the necessary fury within it's tone, in order to insert fear into the very hearts of their prey. A sudden dispersing of leaves into the air would reveal the bold exclamation's source. A pale skinned youth suddenly revealed her visage through the trees; a pale face burning bright red with fury. "You promised me!" The furious voice continued, as the young academy student also lept through the trees, towards the heights of her very own school.
Fortunately, she was not yet quite adept enough physically, in order to completely mimic the physical prowess of her instructor, who had landed directly ontop of the academy roof. Instead, she landed on the floor directly below him. Under normal circumstances, it would have taken the girl quite a noticeably longer time to reach the fleeing instructor's position, as she would have required adequate enough time, in order to jump and maneuver about the academy building to finally reach him the roof. That would've been the case, under 'normal' circumstances. Unfortunately for the running instructor, he had just taught the furious and pursing youth his very own demise; how to walk ontop of and climb objects through the focus and use of her chakra. In a clumsy, yet highly determined landing, it would not be long after before the girl could be heard in her continued hot pursuit of the her instructor. The sound of her shoes could be heard clacking against the walls, as she zealously ran upwards towards the academy roof with her newly learned skills.
The once submissive and shy young academy student, now displayed a fury and zeal worthy of a shinobi. Perhaps, if she'd displayed this same zeal into her studies, her development as a ninja would have been far more prosperous. Regardless, the poor instructor was in for it now...

"Wheeere--" The girl shouted as she eventually made her way close to the very rooftop, jumping a few feet in the air upon reaching the end of the wall. "---is my ICECREAM?!" She furiously finished upon landing. Two eyes faced downwards upon the landing, before the young academy student slowly raised her head, revealing a gaze towards the man. It was a gaze full of vengeance, and akin to murder.

With both ears perking at the sounds of a little-girl screaming in fury; under normal circumstances one would simply ignore the tyranny of the youth, they didn't fully understand things and liked to throw fits. Right? Well unfortunately, Shieo had forgotten his wallet earlier today. Also normal, except he promised a hard-working student of his, ice-cream if she succeeded in her training. It was great that she surpassed expectations and toughed through how to walk and run up walls, trees, the like. Problem, is they were apparently very fond of ice-cream. Too fond, one might argue.

So... Here we are~~ "Wheeere--" swoosh flew to the skies, perhaps not terribly high. But enough to draw some dramatics in Shieo's idle mind. "---is my ICECREAM?!".

With his half-lidded and dour-eyed expression. He followed her movements, as she ran up and launched herself up. It was impressive, really~ I mean, one could barely tell I just taught her that... Minus the sloppy movements-- I guess. With her vengeful expression as she descended down towards him, he sort of took her free-fall, and walked about twenty-feet along the wooden support beam. It's not like she had wings, or gliding... Things, to divert her path and continue pursuing him. Nope, she had to land now and not near him. Which was effectively all one could ask for.
Beyond this, he knew he could escape given the necessity. But there was learning potential here, for Siu at least.

After he made his distance and this was in and around the time she would have landed. He turned on his heel; wobbling around intentionally as he fiddled with chakra to keep himself from falling; despite looking quite the opposite. With one hand dipped in his pant pocket, and the other dangling at his side; he certainly had the look of composure- or fatigue, considering his expression and that he was slouching. "Now now.. I'm sure you can understand~ Sometimes, people can be forgetful. Y'know?-- But hey, you've got a head of fire, perhaps you need something to cool off.. A'hem, that isn't ice-cream." With the idea of potentially helping her practice in mind, he felt as if he should neglect; for the time. Mentioning anything of his forgotten wallet. After-all, she could use this for a number of practice tools, keeping cool under pressure- or rage in her case, balance, prediction~ And of course... Defending.

So while he stood there, the hand in his pocket was fishing, for things he figured non-lethal things were ideal. So he found what he was looking for, and no shorter than about a second after he last spoke. He swiped the objects out of his pocket and tossed them at her, with a whizzing sound of doom the picture of used sucker sticks, toothpicks, some paper-clips, a bouncy ball and some hard-candy was fired in her direction. He did however, hold onto one thing. And looked at it a bit nervously, it was a few yen coins. Certainly enough for a scoop or two of ice-cream. Looking at it with a bead of sweat down his face, Crap.. He thought. Giving a furtive glance to his student, hoping she didn't notice while his arsenal of certainly devastating projectiles barraged her; and attempted to slink the money away.

The barrage of 'devastating' projectiles served as more of an insult to injury, rather than a mitigation of anger, like adding salt to the wound. Her expression of vengeance, had, for the moment, changed into one of shinobi-like caution, as she instinctively raised her arms for protection, in preparation against the incoming 'danger' of the instructor's various array of unidentified thrown projectiles.
However, a deeper examination of those said projectiles, as they flew about throughout the air towards her, would reveal their contents. It appeared as if the man were attempting to make a reconciliation of some sort, through alternative means of bargaining. Upon further examination of those alternative means, an annoyed eyebrow twitched in response, once she realized just how completely useless the majority of those offered objects were; especially the used sucker sticks in particular. There were a few pieces of hard candy, which were reasonably tempting, yet she would not falter, and kept her goal fervently in mind. In comparison to the delicious and refreshing taste of a full scoop of icecream, the offerings of hard candy were severely outclassed. She would not relent.
The sight of a bouncing ball, however, received a very different reaction in comparison to her reaction to the other objects. Instead of a look of annoyance, her expression communicated one of bafflement and confusion. What had that even been doing in his pocket....? It appeared he was trying quite hard.

Another faint sound was heard, one which had a familiar sound that any individual, whether shinobi or regular citizen, could instantly recognize the sound of; the jingling of coins. She had not seen the object in hand, but the ever familiar sound in conjunction with the instructor's odd reactions, raised strong enough curiosity within the girl. "What is that?" She quickly inquired, rather wide and curious eyed. She stared at the older shinobi a few moments after the inquiry, before her young mind slowly began to place all the details together. It was at this eventual placing of details together, that her curious expression could be seen shifting back into it's previous expression of vengeance, more furious than beforehand, if such a thing were even possible. "You..." She began, "Have money!" She quickly condemned.

"I heard it!" She used as evidence to make her case against him, as she picked up a few of the previously thrown miscellaneous objects, and threw them back at the instructor; a fit of rage perfectly suitable for a child.

"You are lying 'again!" she continued angrily. "Show me what you're hiding!" A dash was made towards him, and it wasn't a dash for a hug or greeting either; It was a dash made in an effort to uncover just what exactly what he was attempting to hide.

After the swift attempt at concealing the currency, which would have quickly made its way into his pant pockets; he had given his attention back to the young-girl. At this rate, he kept his hand in the pocket and clenched on the money as if to help prevent even further sounds from lending credence to his possession of money.

"You..." She began, "Have money!"

Welp... She found out, now to hold her off. He pondered in the silence of his mind. A quiet stir in his mind rustled as something shifted in his own world; unseen and heard to Siu; his eyes narrowed ever so slightly. She'll never learn if you don't push her further than a child... You're too gentle. With a calmed deep breath, he lifted his right arm; which was the one that isn't tucked away in his pant pocket. And with deft movements was able to swat away his own weaponry, of course; it held no risk of being hit anyways. Of course, he did end up catching the bouncy ball and replaced it into his pocket once more.

"Show me what you're hiding!"

"I'm hiding nothing! Broke as the twigs you destroyed on your way here.. Ha.." He knew it'd been a faulted effort, he wasn't a master of deciding the emotions of a child; in the end it was simply easier just letting it steam out and deal with the lethargic state that followed in tow for them. As she closed in on his position he would hop back a handful of times, gaining just as much distance as she closed. Up until they reached the furthest point of the support beam, in which also lead to a rather significant drop behind him. Peering over his shoulder, the young man heaved yet again~ one more sigh. Closing his eyes he thought about it a moment and nodded.

As she ran towards him, he turned to face her and too~ ran towards her. Except once he was about ten feet from her position. Shieo would leap with the force of chakra behind his feet and sent him bounding towards the sky; in a twirled one-hundred eighty degree front-flip. He would land another fifteen feet away from her, on the opposite side and facing her. After a passed second, an audible thunk would sound-off near Siu's foot, if she looked it would come into focus, it was a kunai. The design of it... Was a bit unorthodox but nevertheless.

"Figure now's a better time as any to get in some movement practice, nyeh?" Evasive as always, besides. He figured if he gave her a weapon, it'd trigger her into having to think a bit more rationally~ He hoped, it was a gamble really. Once he had thrown it though; he took both hands out and let them rest at his sides. Even if it's just a kid, a weapons a weapon... Man what am I even doing. His expression displayed some conflict, it was subtle; but there as fast as it disappeared. "If you can even scratch me, I'll uh~ Buy you ice-cream for a week... Once I get my wallet." Giving a brief shrug, casting his eyes closed for just a second. "Of course, if you don't want it. That's fine too." Returning his somewhat opened eyes on Siu. Intriguing; that's.. A rather tricky of you. Smirking gently, he responded to the voice in his mind; It won't harm her, and it'll condition her a little~ I guess, you did think I should push her harder.

Given the situation, he moved his arms up calmly. They were in a rather poorly done martial-arts stance, it didn't involve a lot of movement; and held itself to defense more than anything.

If Siu grabs the Kunai Her vision would begin to act kind of unusual. When she looked at Shieo, even the minute movements he made from breathing; appeared to be traced by an after-image of sorts. The building under her feet, did a similar esque effect to her vision. It wasn't moving, but it gave off an image of it moving; just small movements. Certainly enough to cause a person to question their balance; and perhaps employ chakra to help stabilize them a bit more.

"Well?"

The older shinobi's consistent furthering of distance felt like a kind of mocking taunt for the girl, which only further provoked her pursuit. He was not going to make this easy, it seemed. As he reached the edge of the support beam, the academy student's pursuit became faster, recognizing it as a moment of opportunity. Yet, as usual, the instructor performed yet another unexpected feat, as he suddenly could be seen running 'towards' his pursuer. The academy student's face of fury, turned into another expression of bafflement; The prey wan't supposed to run towards the predator was it? That just wasn't the natural order of nature...

An additional sudden display of physical prowess, would further deny the young academy student any hope she had of success in that moment, as she found herself coming to a complete stop, and throwing a late gaze upward towards the sky in great awe, watching as the instructor performed his acrobatic flip. At the sudden 'thump', she slightly jerked back, although there was absolutely no need to. It was simply an instinctive action.
Without a doubt, the guilty object was indeed a weapon; a kunai to be exact. The girl's eyes widened at the sudden introduction of lethal weapons into the scenario, as she gazed back up at the instructor with a look of confusion. Had he thrown it to her, as a sort of warning, perhaps? She would not have to ponder on an answer for very long, for soon it's purpose would be unveiled by him.

"If you can even scratch me, I'll uh~ Buy you ice-cream for a week... Once I get my wallet." The girl blinked in response to the older shinobi's statement. The offer, was undoubtedly tempting,

"But..." The girl began rather hesitantly.

"Of course, if you don't want it. That's fine too." The instructor continued, initiating a rejuvenated expression of determination upon the young girl's face.

"I do but--it's a weapon!" She nervously refuted. Watching the man go into his martial stance, he seemed to have no quarrels against the idea.

The introduction of a weapon had indeed brought the girl back to her more rational senses, as blood was now at a potential risk of being drawn. Biting the bottom of her lip in great hesitance, she stood there for some time, contemplating in deep thought about her next decision. She hadn't much of any experience or training with weapons during her studies in the academy, neither during her everyday livelihood, and she'd 'certainly' never used one against live target.

"Well?" The instructor seemed to provoke on.

"Just a scratch..." She lowly mumbled as a reminder for herself, nervously reaching down to pick up the tool with two unskilled hands. She was bitter about not receiving her promise for icecream, but the last thing she wanted to do was accidentally hurt the man. Though, perhaps she should have been more worried about herself than him.

Preparing the kunai, in perhaps one of the most blatantly untrained and unorthodox stances ever seen; one looked more akin to holding tightly to a toy, than an actual weapon, she began a nervous dash at the older shinobi, to which, would fall directly in conjunction with the sudden odd disturbance of her vision.
The rushed dash slowed to a running stumble, akin to one who had a bit too many alcoholic beverages, causing the girl to swing an embarrassingly sloppy swing, the force of which threw her into a full circled spin, almost throwing herself off the roof in the process. Stumbling back a bit, she narrowed her eyes, attempting to gain a clearer view of her designated target. A light groan was made as the girl blinked a few times and rubbed her eyes, attempting to rid herself of the abnormality. Shake her head, in another effort to regain her composure, her next contemplation was a given. "Why does everything look so dizzy? Looking up at the instructor, her squinted eyes and baffled expression non-verbally communicated her desperate desire to know an answer.

Arching a brow at her rather quick shift to aversion of the thought of injuring him. It was certainly more than he anticipated; and it didn't go unnoticed how long it took her to convince herself to resume her assault. Beyond even just that, it became apparent that there was some room for weaponry skills; even after all of this it may be important to show her the ropes of wielding weapons even of short-standard. While he didn't fault his stance even slightly at her show of incompetence; it wouldn't have been the first time that a foe faked their skills either.

As she initiated her charge, he sort of pauses into a heavy sigh; she was struggling a lot more than he figured again. Don't dwell on it much.. She'll learn. Muttering under his breath; "Or she'll fall and die trying, is what you think. Huh?" Groaning quietly, he kept himself prepared. Drawing on his situation to force a level of alacrity through her emotional intensity. "Come now, if a simple Genjutsu like that has you down for the count. ~~" He paused, he wasn't good at insulting; or egging someone on in such a direct manner. "Ay... Just focus! Try your hardest, focus on me; not the support beam. Use the knowledge that I also need to be on the beam to help guide where your steps need to land." Clearing his throat, he kept his attention divided; making sure his little mind-friend stayed in his mind and didn't reveal itself.

"Once you have that down, focus on striking me. You're not going to hurt me; and if you do. It'll get fixed. So don't sweat the small stuff." He stopped, gauging her and hoped it stirred some tactical use to her. Time could only tell at this point.

You're so naive.

The girl blinked a few times at the first revealed statement. "Genjutsu?" She mumbled in repetition. "'This' is genjutsu?" She clarified to herself. Surely, she'd read about it in the academy books, but to actually experience it firsthand was another thing. This scenario went far past theoretical study. It seemed that at almost every moment, the young mind was now learning and experiencing a multitude of new skills and wisdom, far more than she had ever experiencing sitting for hours upon hours within the academy classroom and studying.
The reassurance that she would not hurt him, or if in the one of a millionth chance where if she actually 'did' somehow manage to hurt him, it could simply be healed, was greatly relieving to the young and troubled mind, and provided her the much needed confidence in order to more deeply concentrate on succeeding in her given task.

"O-okey.." She managed to mumble out in response, an acknowledgement to the instructors words. Repeating his advice through her mind again, she briefly looked downward at the beams and roof; an act rendered completely useless for gauging any type of leverage or balance requirements of her. if anything, such an action only proved to confuse her even more, and simply made the task even more difficult to acheive.
"Focus on him." She reminded herself, in regards to the instructors advice. At this point, her fury was completely dissipated. She was now solely focused on the task at hand.

An idea came to mind, suddenly, "What if..." She began in contemplation, "I--focus on his feet?" After all, if she would be able to observe the movements of his feet enough through the faint after image effect, perhaps she would be able to follow him more effectively. In concerns for her weapon swinging, well, since she would not really be looking at her target's upper body or face, she had a mind to just simply blindly swing the weapon about, while following his foot movements. After all, all she needed was a scratch; just a scratch. And he had already assured her that she would not hurt him. A creative method? Yes. An effective one? Well, there was only one way to find out.

With another dash, she put the theory to the test, attempting to follow the movements of the instructors footwork this time, as she wildly and blindly swung the kunai about in the air.

Well. It looks like she's not completely useless. Rolling his eyes as she was sorting her life out, and deciding her next steps. Of course, she is only a child; and potential isn't simply attained.. One needs to reveal it to oneself~ Usually. Clearing his throat, after once more having a quick skit with his persona. His focus re-applied to the young girl who for all intents and purposes; was ready to start her advance on Shieo.

As she closed the distance, this time he didn't seem terribly keen on retreating his steps back. Instead, he focused on letting her situate herself with the weight of the weapon, with each swing he anticipated her movements trying to automatically re-adjust. And they had to overcompensate with the struggles of her vision blurring and showing after-images of himself. Of course, with her attention on his feet. He had full control of the upper-half of the engagement; not that it made much of a difference in the current situation of things.
After a few moments of her swings, he started mixing up his foot-work; and worked with how she swung, keeping tabs on which place his foot would go and where her arms would encourage muscle work. He was reading her movements and after what would probably feel like ages to Siu; in the end was only seconds. But he would start changing his foot-work; and would swat away her wrist when she made a swing that wasn't accurate, or left her too open. Doing this for sometime, he watched her movements adjust and refine~ Even without the full-function of her eyes. The muscle memory was being ingrained like a child's' should.

Subtle, but effective. Despite our dislike of one another, I have spent a decade and a half mastering the movement of the body and chakra... It's not terribly hard to see inconsistencies in others and help them adjust without telling them directly what to do... A person often learns best by doing; give them no other choice and they will excel. Spoken like a teacher. Don't mock me.

With a bead of sweat trailing down the side of his face, her movements sped up; her actions sharpened and she was gaining on him~ Didn't help he was a bit mentally distracted. After things paced further, she eventually got the tip to puncture into his flak jacket. While it was no scratch, or any blood drawn seeings how the jacket served it's purpose; he felt it was sufficient enough. Grabbing onto her striking wrist, the Genjutsu would slowly dissipate on her and the world re-focused. "Not bad." His monotone voice still lingered with some sincerity in his comment. After she had calmed, assuming she did. He would retrieve the kunai from her hand and put it away.

"Guess I owe you ice-cream, huh."

Indeed, after only but a few moments of blind swings, the subtle effects of fatigue could be felt, gradually accumulating with every missed swing and swatted wrist. Obviously, she hadn't quite much of an idea of what was subconsciously going on within her muscle memory, and was simply wildly swinging about with a hope of somehow accomplishing her goal.
Yet, this task was undoubtedly proving not to be such an easy one to accomplish, as with every task the instructor had given her up to now. The more experienced shinobi proved far more slippery than she could have imaged; One moment he was there, the next moment he was not. Furthermore, she doubted the genjutsu had everything to do with the difficulty of accomplishing the task. Very likely, even without a genjutsu placed on her, the effect would be the same. Afraid to harm him? What was she thinking? The 'only' way she would be able to even have the 'slightest' chance of touching him, was if she went all out. And even then, the possibility still seemed so far out of reach.

After what seemed like decades of denial and impatience, the faint feeling of the weapon's tip finally catching 'something', followed by a sudden grab of her wrist, caught the girl completely off guard. She simply stared up at the instructor with a face full of sweat in response, breathing heavily. The sight of his features, would reveal, not an unclear after-image of himself, but solid and distinguishable features. After the short, yet straightforward compliment, the youth looked downward, her eyes widening with surprise upon the realization that even the image of the beams and roof were now completely normal again.

With the kunai removed from her hand, she heard perhaps the most satisfying statement she'd remember all day.

"Guess I owe you ice-cream, huh."

With a confident and prideful smirk, revealing her inner sense of self-accomplishment from the task, the young academy student replied, "Yes, yes you do. And no lying this time!"
