Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Time continued to fly by as the battle raged on. Miraku had been watching their opponent carefully, taking the time to quickly consider what he had observed to give himself further advantages against the monster. The sound of the crowd was being drowned up by his intense focus as he looked for his next opening. Rushing towards it, Miraku tried to close in, following behind Hoshi who took the next hit, attacking the enemy with a quick combo, seemingly causing decent damage. Concentrating his chakra and mind, Miraku closed in fully, placing a palm against the cold metal hull, causing something to happen to the Golem which would be a boon to him and his teammates. As he darted backward to give himself space again, Miraku watched as Haji took his turn, striking the enemy with a large combo of his own, showing he could also do damage, contributing to the team effort that was this fight.

As their onslaught took a quick break while the team readied their next movements, the Goliath took its next move, releasing a Wind jutsu which created a Tornado in the area, attempting to pull in and Damage the three of them. Miraku quickly braced himself, holding on to the wall near the edge of their fighting area to fight the pull against his low gravity, the other two also managing to avoid the attack. Charging in once again, closing the distance to make their next move, Miraku was once again following up Hoshi who managed to land another hit on the metal monstrosity. Blitzing in, Miraku quickly struck it with two successive stricks, appearing to happen in an instant, his fists striking true into the metallic shell, the second hit seeming to do strong damage. Continuing his hit and run tactics, Miraku moved to the outside of the arena area to observe what he could about his opponent and teammates strategies for the next few seconds.

The Robot seemed to be having trouble doing what he wanted to do, likely due to the sustained damage he was taking from the group. He suddenly managed to attack once again, moving quickly, swinging its large arms multiple times trying to hit all three of them, but with artful dodging, they all managed to continue their streak of avoiding the enemies attacks. Miraku's quick movement was proving useful as he continued to watch, as the Golem once more attempted another technique. Knowing the technique quite well, Miraku could feel the shift in gravity as it attempted to forcefully push the three of them, probably trying to knock them hard into the walls. Miraku's Anti-Gravity helped him reduce the push, causing it to not affect him, as the other's appeared to also avoid damage once more.

> Combat portion concluded (sorry)

Ladies and gentlemen, is there nothing these three can't do!? Remember folks, we're here to decide who among our best get the very coveted spots as Kumogakure's champions! Our radio shgow is brought to you by triple folded steel kunai by Shinobi Action, for all your offensive needs! Found just off the corner of the Dawn-bringer Plaza. Now back to the action!"

"Whats this folks!? Hoshi has tossed his weapon to the wind and tied his hands up tighter than a jashinists kidnap victim. He looks ready and able to lay the smack down on out smack talking bio-mechanical monster! Hoshi looks all riled up and ready for blood, but his seasoned teammates look to be taking the safe approach. Those fisticuffs do not look like they're made for petting kittens, let me tell you folks!

"BB looks like he's charging up to attack- but WHOA, would you look at that! The might of the Hyuuga is strong in the young star boy as he pummels our steam and chakra work of deadly art. BB really looks to have taken a dent this time! And here is Haji right behind him to to show the true might of an eight armed man with a thunderous set of hits! What a show! Those of you listening from home, you are missing one of the fights of the ages!

"Fasten your carriage belts, it's going to be a windy ride!!"<i></i>

“A port just opened up on B.B.’s chest… what’s that howling noise? It’s B.B.! B.B. is unleashing a powerful vortex of wind! Hold onto your hats, folks in the audience, it’s drawing everything in! But our combatants resist!! No surprise here, ladies gents and little ninja everywhere, Miraku, Hoshi and Haji have managed dodge BB's mighty advances like our Main Branch Sennin dodges responsibility!"

>A collective sigh of relief flows from the crown mixed with cheers and screamed approval.

Hoshi goes in with another spectacular flurry! Followed by Miraku who shows us the naughty and nice of hand-to-hand collisions. Once again our beautiful clock work construct is down for the count and struggling to hit his bio-mechanical doors open! There is steam bursting from every seam though folks, meaning our trio locked down one doozy of a flurry.

"What we have here is a failure to physically communicate"<i></i>

"BB tries for another whopper, but once again our favorite group have given it the slip! What a show of agility! Those look like they would have really hurt! But whats this? BB seems to be having some mechanical errors after the utter beat down our contestants have given it! The steam is not stopping! The arena is beginning to fill up! It looks to be transforming"

“He-e-e-e-re’s BB!”<i></i>

"Someone get tech support on call, our bot doesn't look so well!"

“I am the law. Put down your weapons and prepare to be judged”<i></i>

"That is not in the prefabbed dialogue folks! Something is amiss! Ladies and gents, I'm going to invite you to start towards the exi-" The crowd grew quiet as the announcer stopped speaking. One of the academy students sobbed quietly, echoing in the eerie silence. The mist suddenly stopped swirling, holding perfectly still for one long, unnatural breath length. Then it turned cold. The nose and lungs of all present began to burn with frigid cold that burns like nothing anyone from the icy lands of lightning had ever experienced before- save two. The hairs on Miraku and Hoshi's arms might rise as they could swear to hear the creak of ice lodged ship and the howl of wind in the distance.

Frosty screams began to echo through the crown as it mist drew together and pillars of ice exploded from between bystanders. BB began to break into pieces, making more and more steam as if all the moisture was being drawn from its mechanical body. It clashed to the ground, unimpressive and harmless after the last minutes of combat. The voice of the announcer cut short as a bolt of ice hit the glass encased booth assumed to have housed him. Academy students, front and center, were the first to scatter while the strangely masked guards drew weapons to guard against their unknown attackers. Chaos reigned as no one knew the source of the attack, and the exits, one by one, became blocked.

The last route was the very door the three had arrived through but as the crowd collectively realized, it began to encase with thick, red tinged ice as tendrils of frost curled delicately from its frame. It was almost beautiful in the way it danced up into the crowd, until the first of the fearful, doe-eyed fan girls was touched and without so much as a scream locked up and fell. Another followed, then another, until the collective crown was shrieking and pushing to get away.

Children that had dashed for the arena exit wailed and ran in the opposite direction, seeking the comfort of their heroes. A half dozen of them made a small huddle behind them as the rest retreated to another door that the guardians had begun firing fire jutsu at, to little effect. Then a rhythmic pounding began from beyond arena door, like a single set of fists on the icy wood. A second followed it, then a third, fourth, fifth until it became difficult to hear anything else.

"Theres a vent system up top!!" one of the guards called, falling back from the ice removal attempt, "It wont hold all of us, but the light ones and a few adults could manage. I don't know what that is, but you guys need to take the kids and get out!!!"

As his eyes watched the battlefield, Miraku quickly became aware something was amiss as time seemed to slow down even further, a strange silence for but a moment before suddenly the cold snapped in. That unmistakable chill which he had begun to grow accustomed to. After his visits to Water Country along with the close call at the Dreadnought, it felt like he was there once more. The mist in the air crystalizing and pulling itself together as it formed large pillars of ice into the crowd. His eyes darting from his opponent to the stands, he could see it unfold before them. Mind racing, he processed the possibilities, finding the idea of a Dreadnought invasion highly unlikely so quickly. They had been so busy lately, preparing for such an invasion; surely it was too early. If the Dreadnought had come ashore, surely word would have been sent, and this tournament preliminary would have been canceled to thwart the invasion. Turning to Hoshi, who would most likely understand this feeling, Miraku pondered his words carefully as they had little time.

Before he had the chance to speak, the chaos continued. Students, shinobi, and civilians alike, all made moves to head towards the most obvious exit; where the three contenders had entered as all other entrances were closed off. Guards scatted to try to find another way, as there were seemingly no enemies in sight. Was there someone in the crowd, able to hide their presence so? There must have been, how else would they be able to attack the announcer in his booth so precisely? As the bystanders ran across the arena towards the door, they were quickly stopped by the sight of red-tinged ice covering it, stopping them from going through there, but not before the ice managed to creep its way to some poor crowd members, freezing them instantly.

Suddenly, the sound of knocking from behind the door. The number of knocks increased as time moved on, bystanders backing up to stand behind the three, hoping for protection. Surely it couldn't be the zombies come a-knocking. Was this some kind of test, or did the enemy truly somehow sneak on land and managed to get itself inside the village. One thing was for sure; Miraku and his teammates couldn't just sit around. As guards called out, offering a way out through a vent for the smaller children and adults, suggesting they evacuate the kids first. Quickly weaving handseals, Miraku created four shadow servants which would be able to take multiple children and smaller adults at a time, signaling them to do so, and move them up to the vent system to escape.

Miraku's eyes scanned the crowd, attempting to find anyone out of place, but it wasn't an easy task. "Someone must be close by that is able to aim these attacks. Be careful." He called to Hoshi and Haji over the loud sounds of the crowd who were trying to move away from them once more to avoid the ice coming from the door. He hoped either Hoshi or Haji caught the hint that the enemy could be in the crowd as well, without having to say it to them and scare the others around them.

This assault had soured Miraku's mood. What a day for them to choose for this. And attacking his village, and it's villagers? He couldn't just stand by as this continued. He focused himself, his chakra moving throughout his body quickly, as the air around him began to warp slightly, the gravity change around him expanding into his power as he further warped it to increase his ability, attempting to lower the gravity around him to allow his servants to move even slightly faster, and with more ease. Putting his hands out in the direction of the door, he focused his chakra further, aiming it his his arms as he bent his knees to cement his position, he pushed the force forward out his hands towards the ice-covered door, and whatever lay beyond it, pressing the power of his gravity control to its limits, attempting to increase the gravity around the door and behind it to slow down the movement of the ice, and force whatever was behind it, knocking, to the ground with it's immense pressure. He was expending his chakra heavily, and with the required focus, he found himself unable to move while maintaining so many effects, hoping his servants and teammates could pick up his slack. Although his focus couldn't lack much, he made sure to keep slight attention on those behind him incase of a counter-attack or another issue that would require him to release his hold on what he was doing. For now, with no obvious enemies to use his speed and tactics against, he would do what he could to help the escape efforts.

“It’s too late for you now...”

Hoshi was at a certain distance from the robot, the perfect distance. He envisioned the hyuuga trigram upon the battleground floor. It lead to the robot, highlighting it’s sealed tenketsu points in crimson red, leaving only one large pulsating blue point. The heart, the core of all chakra in one’s body. Hoshi states the bot down, as if a champion of a staring contest.

“You’re in range. There is no escape!”

The bot flicked in a cloud of dust , his aura leaving a thin pale blue trail as he whistled through the air. His body would fully appear at the bot’s chest, with a sickening palm landing smack dab on point with a small indent from his teenage hand. It followed a series of palms and kicks that sounded like one hit from them being in such quick succession. Hoshi lead the way again for the bot to be wide open for his team’s assault, Hoshi smirked while retreating and gaining distance.

He began to surge chakra into his palms infused with his life energy and a physical form of his relentless Shinobi resolve. His palms were suddenly engulfed with a pale purple flame as he punched the air, so it seemed. His movement was so ridiculously fast each strike generated enough heat from friction alone to spark a flame to his aura and fireball of his life source. This came in massive waves from a distance bombarding the bot over and over again. Afterwards, Hoshi felt the sweat collect above his eyebrows. He was tiring himself out, just to be a show off for all the fan girls. Is that really how a hero acts? He gritted his teeth and retreated, allowing his team to follow suit once more.

He looked to the crowd, and his mouth dropped. They were fleeing, a familiar brisk cold came upon them. Quickly he began to circulate chakra throughout his body to keep himself warm and insulate his small self. The mist froze over, meanwhile Hoshi had already compeleted the hand seals and blood sacrifice to summon. He slammed his palm into the hand.

“Contact Summoning: Misuto!”

A large thirty foot otter rose from the ground through an ecrptyed diagram of the marine mammal Overlord. What came forth was a large otter Shinobi adorned in red armor stanced up with a sword made from the fan of a leviathan, and a pummel and scabbard made from its legendary hardened scales.

“Misuto, circulate your chakra to stay warm. I need you to combat the ice bursts and use your body as a shield to protect the civilians. I’ll get the people out of here.”

With a tiger hand seal, Hoshi created three lightning clones who took off running, each able to hold two kids or one adult at a time including the real Hoshi himself. He also took off getting to the job rather quickly. He was too distracted from the battle to expect anything like this. He clicked his teeth once more shaking his head.

One moment Haji was fighting a giant raging robot (and kicking ass btw), the next he was watching the crowd run in fear as a cold feeling began to creep through the arena. The announcer had been smashed to bits by a giant shard of ice. The BB had fallen to cold metal pieces in front of the three of them, the cold was permeating everything, Haji did not find it too uncomfortable since he was in the Gate of Death his aura would keep him warm, but he could still feel the cold creeping up on him and that was shocking enough for him to take the situation very seriously.

"Can't go burning out" Haji murmered as he dropped out of all but three gates, keeping the Gate of Healing open so that he could still move even after having gone all the way to the eighth gate, otherwise he would probably be on the ground unable to walk. It was anarchy in the arena, all the people were panicking and screaming looking for a way out, there were frozen victims from the icy cold jutsu, the robot was shattered into pieces and Hoshi had summoned a giant armored otter into the arena who was standing guard. A guard shouted to them that there was a ventilation system that the kids might be able to get through followed by a few adults.

Hoshi was already gathering some kids with some clones with the protection from his otter. Miraku was focused on the pounding beyond the frozen door, which was getting louder and louder. Miraku was in a power stance and he looked strained exerting some kind of power over the door and whatever was making that noise. Haji ran up behind Miraku and attached a strand of his mucus to his waist trying not to interrupt his focus. "Sit tight and keep doing your thing Miraku!" Haji shouted over the pounding and panic of the crowd.

Haji shot a line of mucus up to the ceiling of the arena where the ventilation system was located, and then beckoned some of the kids that had rushed toward the center of the arena to come to him. He picked up four kids with his four extra arms and tucked them beneath like a barrel. With his remaining two free arms he began to pull himself and the kids up to the vents, going hand over hand as fast as he could, using the gates power to pull himself at remarkable speed. He dropped the four kids off into the vent and looked them in the eyes "You kids move on down a little but just enough to make room for the other kids, don't worry, I won't let anything get ya" Haji gave them a smile and slid down the line of mucus.

"Hoshi!" He beckoned his team mate "You can use this to get the kids up to the vent!" Haji shot another thick line of mucus up to the vents. He turned an eye back to Miraku and ran over to him and the ice covered door. He moved his hands in the form of a seal and then released a giant web over the ice covered entrance, a strong thick substance. He nodded to Miraku "That should slow down whatever that is if it gets through. Keep doing your thing, I've got a plan" He gave a little tug on the mucus he had connected to Miraku's waist. If whatever was behind that door burst through, he could emergency reel in his team mate.

He ran off in search of more kids to evacuate up to the vents, still a little wary of Hoshi's gigantic otter.

What unfolded was a solid, wordless, orchestra of moves between room three's trio.

Miraku, heavy of heart and confused to be facing frozen death so soon, was not impeded by his thoughts. His immediate concern was to stop whatever lay beyond the ice door; a good choice if they were going to get out without seeing more casualties. Grounding himself, he sought to end the tirade on the doors by stopping what lay beyond with gravity. And, as seconds passed, the sound began to slow and lessen in intensity, as if what lay beyond had to wrestle for each move.

Meanwhile, Hoshi went from determined battle show off stud to quick acting hero. Knowing that Miraku was handing to threat from the inside out, he took the young guards advice and began to gather children to get them to safety. Knowing how difficult the job ahead was, he summoned aide in the form of his gigantic marine Otter friend to protect the helpless and young from the yet unknown threat, then a pair of clones to speed things along.

Haji, already quick and strong from the legendary eighth gate sought to support both team mates as they separated to their chosen tasks. A tether was set, a rope attached assuring Miraku's safety as he stood his ground and giving Hoshi an efficient way to get the academy children to safety respectively. He was even able to carry four of the smallest frightened children up the the vents.

In the new silence Miraku created, the screams of civilians echoed acoustically through the arena. The affluent rubbed shoulders with the regular as they ran from the frost which did not stop. One after another, those who fell or lagged behind found themselves frozen effigies of weakness.

In the arena, the students that Haji picked up were mostly complacent and clung willingly to their saviors. One small boy of the four cried fearfully as Haji carried them to apparent safety in the ducts above while the rest simply clutched on. When it came time to part ways, the scared boy howled fearfully but the other children helped to pull him into the vent. He snuffled pitifully, but the reassurance that they would be fine was enough to temporarily calm him.

The students in Hoshi's care were likewise calm, though there was some jostling as one small, white eyed girl pushed aside her fellow students in order to be held by the -real- Shouyu. She was definitely among his starstruck fans.

As it turned out, it would not be the pillars of ice that grand Misuto would be protecting them from, but the hysteria that was beginning to set in through the crowd. The adult watchers mulled helplessly by different exits, bleating and shoving like a herd of sheep while masked guards tried to direct them together and away from immediate danger. The strange frost still curled and danced up the stands at a steady pace, making it a race to safety for all. The last place left seemed to be the main arena ground itself, forcing those who still lived, numbering roughly one hundred, near where their shinobi heroes worked.

They had begun to notice the evacuation of the young shinobi, and many began to shout and plead for the same.
VHilA8T.gif

"Why not us!?" a young woman, no older than eighteen screamed, bursting past the guards in a lucky feint."You're supposed to be our heroes! You're supposed to protect us!" Her hysterical screech was cut short as another of the guards grabbed her short of reaching Hoshi and the rope. The damage was done, however, as others called out in agreement and began pushing the line towards the evacuation effort..

"Miraku-sama, please! Save us!" one woman yelled above the crowd.

"I don't want to die! I have children!" another from the back, pushing frantically to get away from the frostlines yelled

"I'll pay you anything you want!" a man in an expensive fur coat and silk clothing shouted, digging deep into his pockets.

"You're our most powerful warriors! Why aren't you helping us!?" A younger man, clutching a scared, wide eyed woman accused.

"Please don't leave us here!" Pleaded a young fangirl, a banner with a bold 'H" clutched in her hands, "I loved you!"

"How can you call yourselves heroes and leave us like this!"

The guards were beginning to struggle to keep the civilians contained as the frost circled closer and closer. The way it was moving, it was as if whatever entity that controlled it was playing off the fear of people. It would reach out and touch outliers in the crown, then slow down to allow hysteria to increase, then take down another. They were starting to encroach on the three dozen young shinobi still waiting to be saved.

"Keep going, sir! We'll take care of these people! Just get the kids to safety!" The same guard that had encouraged their escape yelled back, "Don't listen to them! We need to save the students first!"

A fight broke out suddenly as a portly man began shoving at one of the masked guards. The action emboldened the many other angry men and women, and with one loud, communal shout, hell broke loose.

[This will be the final round, and not included in the review. We're deliberating votes now, all posts after this are to properly close the story. Have fun, and a great holiday season guys!]

As his Shadow Servants, Hoshi's Clones and Otter gathered up kids and younger people, Haji was working on a getaway in case of emergency for them, as well as taking them in his multiple arms and making it easier for them to get the civilians out of there. Keeping his focus, Miraku watched and listened, as he could hear the banging on the other side of the wall has stopped, his gravity obviously doing its job. But the bigger issue was the creeping ice. Even though he was able to slow down the ice coming from the doorway, it was already coming from the stands and surrounding the group in the middle of the arena. At this point, it was getting too close and would need to be dealt with.

Miraku figured this would be a good time for him to switch his focus. Whatever was behind the door would be hurting for a bit due to the pressure hopefully and the thought that the ice would get them before those enemies ever could at this point meant that it was time to use an alternate strategy. Besides, the civilians were beginning to freak out now that others had been saved and not them. The group only had so much time to move each person. They had begun begging and even talking down on their team. Miraku tried to tune them out, leaving his focus on the task at hand. Holding off the attack and saving as many people as possible was the most important thing at this moment. Miraku began to take a few steps back with his arms outstretched still, keeping his control for the last few moments before readying himself to taking a deep breath and preparing himself for his change in plans.

Bringing his arms in towards his chest, releasing his hold over the gravity before him, he began weaving handseals, keeping the force of his chakra in his hands and arms. Releasing his long breath, he bent down slightly, slamming his palms into the ground. "Everyone move in. He called out, telling them before forcing the chakra out his hands through his Earth control. It began to make waves in the earth, as it rippled outward around him, small at first, going under the feet of those around him, but increasing in size the further they went. It may have seemed like an earthquake at first, but in reality, the ground was just moving. Miraku planned to use his mastery over the Earth element to push the earth around them away, leaving the safe ground where they stood and pushing away the infected iced ground, causing the floor around their area to sink, so as to make the distance to the team and civilians further for the ice to travel, while also pushing that ice away from them, doubling down on the the distance giving them more time.

Ignoring the complaints or pleas, Miraku just wanted to keep his focus and do what he could, but time was certainly running out for the rescue. All he could do right now was believe in his teammates and his own Shadow Servants which continued to bring people where they could to help. But they would definitely need to make their own escape soon as he was running out of ways to help any further against such a strong enemy force. Hopefully his actions and willingness to stick around as long as he could would help to calm down the civilians who had started trying to cause fights and issues. He was prepared to make his leave though if they decided to turn against him while he was attempting to help.

Hoshi was getting to it and fast, the whole team was and eventually it came for time for Misuto to act. His large size could help with carrying many people at once. Of course the larger otter would suggest this plan of action first.

Misuto: “I can rally up the older ones, many at a time. Make haste young Shinobi!”

”Right! Everyone! Now is your time of action! Get on the back of that otter. Gather up and do not worry. The heroes of Kumogakure will never waver!”

Misuto leapt into action and crouched down allowing people to board his shoulders and back. He could easily take up to twenty to thirty people without worrying about their safety. Hoshi and his clones were still at work now moving to help people get to Misuto, the same time rerouting the frantic ones losing hope to the nearest exit.

Hoshi noticed Miraku taking action on the creeping ice. Hoshi planted a foot into the dirt and made a sturdy horse stance. With that he wove a series of Water seals and from beneath the ground, against the wave of earth Miraku created, he summoned a small wave of water. He hoped it would be able to wash up any stragglers and ultimately bring them closer to the group for a slippery escape.

“Tch! We’ve almost got this in the bag.”
