Tomo slid through the academy halls, his face holding a scowl as three small toads in costumes pushed the man along. "Why am I doing this again?" Despite Tomo's attempt to dig his heels into the floor even more after the possibly distracting question, his forward motion did not slow. "Because Tomo-sama, it has come to our attention that there is at least one generation of shinobi that are unknowledgeable about contract critters. If you don't teach them, who will?" Tomo held up his hand and began counting on his fingers. "Sennin Kogami, Shashu-san, Tsuyoshi-san..." A frustrated croak interrupted him. "All busy, busy shinobi. You on the other hand, Tomo-sama, are quite free at the moment. We checked your schedule." Tomo grumbled lightly. It was true, he had no other plans.

As he was guided to the door, a realization struck. "Hold up. There won't be any students. You can't just create an impromptu class and expect students to magically materialize in the seats." He had them now. Maybe he could get out of this yet. "Don't worry about that Tomo-sama. We went ahead and posted flyers, AND made the class official with the headmistress herself. Well...her assistant anyway. That lady with the eye-patch. A scary sort, but she didn't complain...much." Foiled again. Tomo sighed in resignation. "Alright, alright. You win. I really don't know what you expect me to say though. I mean...how does one teach about contracts?" The toads waved it off. "Details. Details. Now come on! You're already late!" Tomo scowled. "Wait, you didn't even bring me in time for my own class?!" His words were ignored as the toads jumped into the classroom already filled with students.

Within the classroom was the usual. A chalkboard at the front, along with a large desk for the teacher. The room was tiered, allowing students in the back to see over their fellow peers. Long tables reached across three separate columns of benches, acting as desks. On the board was the name of the course, written in a most unusual font and barely legible.
Contracts! How to Treat 'em, Never Eat 'em!
Already the teacher was five minutes late, and some of the random students spread out in the area were murmuring their displeasure. However, three toads burst into the room, dressed in unusual attire and hopping on two legs. They reached the center and turned to the class. "Goooooood morning class! Weeeeeeeee're..." The toad with the crown held up his rapier, "Yo!" The toad with the chef's hat held up his frying pan, "Jin!" The toad with the fake wings held up a calligraphy brush, "Bo!" They hit their respective held items together and struck another pose. They lowered their 'weapons' and looked proudly out at the class. "We will be your contract summons for this class. Aaaaaaand now, it's time to meet our contractee, MOCHIZUKI TOMO! YAAAAAAAAY!" Tomo entered the room as the toads clapped at him, a look of disdain on his face as he closed the door. "Calm down, you'll interrupt the other classes." The toads struck another pose. "Nonsense! We're the only important class going on right now. I mean, who would want to learn about underwater basket weaving?" Five students got up from their seats and left the room. The toads pouted. "Okay, besides them...no one..."

Tomo walked farther into the room, shaking his head as he noticed the ridiculous title upon the chalkboard. He stood in front of the desk and looked out at the students. "Um...yeah. I'm Mochizuki Tomo, manager-in-training and returning idol of the Mochizuki Troupe..." He trailed off for a moment, realizing that it had been many months since his comeback to the village. Could he really continue to include 'returning' in his title? Not to mention he hadn't put on any shows since absorbing Aitouka the Toujigikou. Something about having mouths on his hands made him feel a little less attractive than he used to. Shrugging it off, he motioned to the students. "I suppose introductions are important." The toads puffed out their chests. "Very important! Students! Declare your names proudly! When a creature of our caliber chooses to bless you with our contract, we like to know you have the name to back it up!" Tomo cocked an eyebrow, but said nothing as he waiting for the students to introduce themselves.

Class Start!
A few rules before we begin:

-Classes are on a time crunch to ensure that they don't die or take forever. Post within 72 hours (three days). Each missed deadline gets you a strike. Three strikes and you fail the class.

-Because there is a time limit, there is no posting order. Do it as soon as you can. The sooner people post, the sooner I can respond and we can continue onward.

-If you cannot post within the time limit, please pm me AHEAD of the deadline. If you are having a hard time getting motivated, you're busy, etc, I would like to know so I can help/work with you.

-For those who know, I may be moving later this month. If this class is not finished by that time, one Mochizuki Tama will pop in to take my place for the rest of it. She has permission to use any NPCs I own and Tomo himself for her shenanigans. Even if she joins, the deadline remains the same. Please pm her instead if you cannot meet a deadline.

-The following class with be IC tomfoolery about contracts. Please see the Contract information in the Battle Rules for OoC information on Contract Summons.

-Have fun!!!

For a few days back Ritsuko had been interrupted in her walk by a flying poster, it had landed in her face. It was something about a class teaching contract summoning, and since she didn't knew much about that, she had decided to participate. She was sitting in the class room in the back as she usually did when attending to classes, it somehow seemed like if you was in the back, you would avoid any unnecessary talk with other students. It was fitting for Ritsuko since then its wasn't needed to interact with people more than nessecary, just like she wanted.

The teacher arrived and introduced himself, with three funny looking toads. They all seemed a little hyper, and weird. They asked of the students to introduce them self afterwards. Ritsuko sat patiently waiting until most of the other students had introduced them self, and waited for a moment where she could introduce herself without any other students interrupting. She wouldn't want one of those awkward moments where two students stood up at the same time, talking over each other. She stood up, and took a little look around the class before looking straight into the chalkboard while introducing herself. "My name is Yumira Ritsuko, I'm from the Nara clan. But for personal reasons i have chosen not to go by my clan name" She introduced herself with a formal tone, and then sat down again. Waiting for the last students to introduce them self, so the class could get started, and she could go home with new knowledge.

Sadly the room was filled with forgettable names and faces. No one really popped out in Tomo's mind, aside from a girl in the back with cat ears and an eyepatch. The man's eyes held on her for a few moments before placing a hand on his hip. "Alright, great. Now let's begin..." Tomo closed his eyes and furrowed his brows. He hadn't had any time to prepare for what he would lecture about. To buy him some time, he walked around behind the desk and opened a drawer. Resting within, in all its glory, was the almighty textbook. Shinobi 101...you have saved my life yet again. He pulled it out and quickly flipped to the page he needed. He gave it a quick skim before speaking. "Contract creatures are a special breed of beings with a capacity to use chakra, just like us." The three toads struck a pose. Tomo rolled his eyes and continued. "In most cases, they are animals, though it is said that it is possible to form a pact with powerful spirits as well." The toads nodded. "Indeed! They are known as Kami and Youkai." Feeling more confident, Tomo shifted back in front of the desk. "One does not simply seek out these life forms, they will appear to you." The three jumped up. "Like we chose Tomo-sama!" The man shook his head. "Not exactly. But regardless, you will know these creatures by the fact they are able to speak our language." He turned to the board and cocked an eyebrow. "And apparently just barely write."

Turning back to the class, the Mochizuki realized he didn't have much else to say. That was basically all there was to it. He looked to the three toads, who in turn looked at him. They struck a pose. "Quiz time!!!" They opened a drawer and produced a large stack of papers. They split them between each other and quickly passed them out. Tomo scratched his cheek. "Okay...I guess when you're finished, bring your papers to the front. No...cheating?" He sat down at the desk and watched the children answer, completely unaware what was even on the sheets. In the meantime, he thought through what else he could possibly talk about.
Quiz said:
1) What is your name?

2) What is your quest?

3) What is your favorite color?

Bonus Question! What is your favorite animal?

Ritsuko listened to the man as closely as she always did when learning something new, she was somehow an addict to knowledge. She knew that contracts was made with animals, and she had once before met a Kami. But what she didn't know was that she couldn't choose which contract she wanted, but it was them who chose. That meant the possibility for a contract with a animal she didn't want to? or could she refuse. She was going to ask the teacher, but before she had the time a paper with questions on was given to her. Well she could always ask afterwards.

She looked at the questions, they were kinda just basic information about who they were, so it couldn't be so hard to answer. Well. Name, Yumira Ritsuko, the next question was a little more tricky and so she skipped it for now and went on to the last two questions, favorite color, she hadn't really thought about what her favorite color was before now, but if she should choose, it had to be black i guess, and at last her favorite animal, though it wasn't a hard question, it was just that she loved a lot of animals. At last she wrote down fox, after switching her thoughts between, fox, deer, and bird.

Then she returned to question number 2, her quest. How should she interpret it, was it what she wanted, or what she had to do? After thinking for a while she scraped her answer down on the paper. She looked it through a few times, before handing it over to the teacher.

Answer 1: Yumira Ritsuko
Answer 2: My quest is to be strong enough to protect the weak. I wanna protect the people who can't protect them self.
Answer 3: Black
Bonus question: Fox.

Tomo was shocked when the first boy made his way to the front and handed in his sheet. It's only been a minute. How could he be done already? Tomo held up the paper and skimmed it. Quest is to make the perfect grilled cheese? Favorite color blue? Favorite animal penguins? Tomo looked to the toads in annoyance and waved them over to him. They obeyed, and the Mochizuki bent down to whisper to them. "What kind of tripe is this? This isn't a school quiz, it's a personality quiz. What is this supposed to accomplish?" The toads replied. "To find out what contract is right for them of course." Tomo's eye twitched as he shoved the sheet he had just received into the faces of the toads. "If you ask the question at the bottom, doesn't that give away the answer?" The toads pouted. "That's what the quest question is for..." Tomo shook the paper. "Oh please, enlighten me. His goal is to make grilled cheese. What is his contract creature going to be? Wait, let me guess, Kami, right? Obviously."

Tomo heard small feet approaching his desk and straightened himself in his chair. More papers were coming in and the man scanned each one of them. He needed to come up with a good reason for this ridiculous exam. When the last sheet came in, it was the moment of truth. Could Tomo make this quiz actually mean something? He took in a deep breath and rose from his seat. "Thank you everyone. This was merely a test to look inside yourselves and see what it is you hope to accomplish. I also wanted to see the correlation between those goals, and the animals you admire." He held up a sheet and read from it. "My quest is to work hard every day. My favorite animal is a horse." Tomo felt bad for the student, as he was pretty sure there weren't any horse contracts. But who knows? Maybe there was one out there. He placed the sheet down and pulled another. "It is also possible that your goals and animals don't match up. My quest is to be the very best like no one ever was. My favorite animal is a mouse." He switched for another paper. "My quest is to become strong enough to protect the weak. My favorite animal is a fox." Tomo didn't see this one as particularly contradictory, but he also never imagined foxes associating with strength.

Tomo placed the sheet down and continued to pull this lecture out of his butt. "The goals you have, whether they be long term or short term, will call to those mythical creatures, as will your personality. Who you are factors into who you befriend." The man scratched his cheek. "So ask yourself, will you remain yourself, or allow others to shape you? Both have their pros and cons..." Tomo trailed off as he realize his lesson was taking a random turn. But maybe it would strike a chord with someone.

A test to look inside themselves, made sense. The quiz had seemed a little meaningless at first, but his explanation made sense to it. He told some more about how the creature you would come to have a contract with chose one. Something about it depended on how you were as person. Ritsuko played with the thoughts about what the teacher told, for a while. Who i am, decides which animal i am most likely to get? She remembered that she had wanted to ask the teacher a question and raised her hand. "What if the animal isn't something you want to make contract with, can you refuse?"

The teacher then told them to ask themselves, if they would allow others to shape them. But wasn't it impossible not to? Mostly Ritsuko wanted to stay herself for ever, hold on to her opinions, her view on life. But somehow she knew it was impossible never to let someone shape you, no matter who you were. That was anyhow what she believed. She had multiple times experienced a person change her, either her attitude or her opinion. She had always hated to be with other persons, she still did. But especially the kid Daisuke kinda changed that. At first she just wanted to leave as she met him, but she couldn't get herself to say it, when they fell in talk. People around you will always affect who you are gonna turn out to be. Ritsuko didn't really like that she was going to be shaped by other, but she was going to accept it.

You can always stay yourself if you want to. But, not completely. Most likely at some place in your life, a person or event, will change that.

Tomo was thankful when he heard the question from the student. The class needed to get back on track. "It is your choice of course. If you do not wish to engage with these creatures, or outright refuse a contract, then you are allowed to do that. But remember, signing a contract with these beings is considered a high honor. They are essentially welcoming you into their family. Declining that offer is an insult, thus you can believe they won't give you a second chance." The toads nodded. "Indeed! Tomo-sama is our big brother! Can't you see the resemblance?" They jumped into a semi-circle around Tomo and struck a pose. The man sighed and shook his head. Sadly their personalities bear a striking resemblance to Tama...so maybe they aren't that far off.

The Mochizuki looked out over the students. He had run out of things to talk about. Seeing this, the toads bounced in place. "Now it is time for the demonstration part of the class! Summon Dad! Summon Dad!" Tomo looked mortified. "Your father is giant! It would destroy the building!" They didn't falter. "These children must see the majesty of our family! The power you can wield when joining our fold! The..." Tomo cut them off. "Alright, alright. But we'll do this outside. Tama does enough damage to this building. We don't need to start a Mochizuki stereotype." Tomo motioned for the class to follow him. "Come with me class."

It didn't take long before the students all bundled together outside of the school. Tomo held a hand up to indicate they stay there as he walked a distance away from them. "Like I said in class, Gamaken is very large. Stay where you are so you don't accidentally get squished." Tomo's back was to the children as he analyzed the surroundings. He plotted out where the toad's feet would land, and adjusted himself a bit so his summon would do the least amount of damage to the school grounds. "Alright, here we go." He turned around and took in a breath.

Tomo brought his hand to his face, scraping his thumb on his leather pouch as he did to draw blood. The faint symbol on Tomo's hand gave off a bright flash, and a cloud of smoke filled the area around the man. As the smoke cleared, a massive toad sat where Tomo once was. It's magenta skin and black robe stuck out even more so against the white and green of the academy grounds. Looking up, Tomo knelt on top of the toad's head.

The three young toads standing in front of the crowd of children cheered. "Yeah! Yeah! Isn't he great?! Isn't he cool?! That's our Dad!" The summon creature, Gamaken, blinked one eye, then the other. "So what's all this about?" The toadlings struck a pose. "We're showing these human children the might of the toads!" Gamaken rubbed his chin. "Ah, I'm sorry then. The others must have been busy, that's why you called on me." Tomo fully sat on Gamaken's head, crossing his legs and rubbing the spot in front of him. "No, we specifically summoned you. Thank you for coming friend." The Mochizuki cupped his hands and called down to the children. "Do you have any questions?"

Though Ritsuko understood why the contract animals would get offended if they got refused. She still felt relief knowing that she could refuse if she ended up with something, she totally didn't wanna have a contract with.

Ritsuko followed the crowd of children outside, she kept her position in the back also while walking. She was very excited to see her first contract summoning, though she didn't express it as loud as the other students. Arriving at the area where the summoning would take place, she walked up in front of all the other kids. She was very small, so if standing in the back it would be impossible for her to see a thing. She thought, until a giant toad appeared with a dust cloud. It was definitely both bigger and more impressive that she had expected.

As the teacher asked if they had any questions Ritsuko raised her hand. "How exactly do with get a contract, how do we find them"

Seeing the raised hand, Tomo hopped down from his summon, letting loose a small gust of wind underneath him to lighten his fall. He placed his hand on his hip as he straightened. "Yes, good question. Those who form contracts tend to keep their distance from human civilization. Even those trained as shinobi find these creatures unique and odd. You can imagine how a regular civilian of Lightning Country would react to one of them. They would most assuredly label the being a monster and attempt to kill it. So you will most likely run into them out in nature." Tomo looked back at his toad friends for a moment before continuing. "How you meet them, and where, can never truly be defined. It is difficult, I dare say impossible, to openly search for them. Luck has a great deal to do with it." The three young toads interrupted. "Some may even say destiny! Tomo-sama here met a relative of ours during a time when an odd scroll with unspeakable power appeared." They began to make over-exaggerated gestures as they retold the story. "Beast fought beast as we all struggled to stake a claim on the unknown power. Tomo-sama himself took out waves of insects and birds with a single arrow." Tomo shook his head, as this was not how the actual scene played out.

The Mochizuki waved off the toads and spoke to the class again. "In the end, the creatures will most likely come to you if they have a problem they need help with. Even chakra-wielding animals need assistance at times." Tomo turned around and gave Gamaken's arm a pat. "Thank you. That will be all." The large toad gave a nod before disappearing in a puff of smoke. He addressed the class. "I'm afraid this class was only meant to inform you of their existence so that you would be prepared should you even be fortunate enough to run into one. I cannot teach you where they are, or how to find them, because few can really say they know that information." Tomo scratched his cheek. "So...yeah. Um, that might wrap up the class? I'll take more questions if there are any. If not, we can probably call it a day."

Ritsuko had learned the information about contracts she needed. Though not just being able to just find them sounded a little bit difficult. But one day when she was old enough she would travel through the world, and hopefully find one of these amazing creatures. The teacher said that they would call it a day, if nobody had any questions, and Ritsuko didn't. Neither of the other kids had a question, so that was problably all.

Tomo waited for anyone to raise their hand, but the kids were obviously getting restless. They had been rather well-behaved up to this point, so he couldn't fault them. He gave a nod. "Alright, then class dismissed. Remember to treat other beings with respect, because they may become great friends or powerful allies later." Tomo tilted his head a bit as he closed his eyes. Sheesh, that was corny. He remained in the area for a short while longer as the children dispersed, making sure they didn't cause trouble while technically still on his watch. He wondered how found this class helpful. To him, it felt a bit obvious, but in the end it was good that they were at least aware of them. It would be rather embarrassing for Kumogakure if the younger generation started disrespecting the creatures. Once all the children left, Tomo looked to Yo, Jin, and Bo. "Are we done?" They nodded, so the Mochizuki turned to head home. The toads followed, gabbing away as Tomo zoned them out.
