After several weeks of searching, Kitsune hadn’t gotten any further in her search for where the heck she descended from, something that bugged the heck out of her now that she had gotten serious about actually finding where she came from. Therefore, when she finally found a lead that wasn’t a dead end, she was ecstatic to follow it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite easy to follow because it lead far away, out to the Heartland of Lightning Country; where there apparently was a family of nobles owning the area that had quite an extensive collection of genealogy books. And it just so happened, that the library in Kumogakure had managed to make a deal with them, to allow trusted patrons of the library to borrow from that collection.
Given that Kitsune had been a patron for years, she got easy access to the books. So she asked for all of the relevant ones with the info on all the richest families of Kumogakure. Hopefully she’d find a clue or two regarding her lineage. Ironically enough, unbeknownst to Kitsune, the family that actually had the books was part of her lineage. As Kitsune would discover at some point, her family was actually the main family of the Shinrya clan. While the ones out in the Heartland, were the branch family. Apparently the main family had always let the branch family handle the politics out there, while they had taken care of the politics of the big city.
It was a symbiotic relationship really; one couldn’t do without the other. Or, one couldn’t do well without the other. But now that the whole main family was dead except for one person who didn’t know who she was? Well… That was troublesome. The branch family had been trying to manage as well as they could, but it kept on going downhill. Without the support from the main family, they weren’t able to get the important contracts with the local construction companies in place. They weren’t able to negotiate for good mission rates when they had to hire shinobi from Kumogakure. And they weren’t able to access the enormous fortune Kitsune had inherited from her parents. All in all, they were rather boned.
Something rather weird though, was that the branch family hadn’t tried to find Kitsune at all in the past many years. But there was a simple explanation for that. They hoped to become independent from the main family, though that clearly didn’t work out as they had hoped. So now they had initiated their own search, and their genealogists had discovered Kitsune as the missing link between the families. So had another person that made the link before the genealogists and Kitsune. It was the same guy that had taught Kitsune how to use the violin. He claimed his name was Isha, which was just weird. How could your name be what you are?
In any case. He just showed up out of no-where, and sat down by the table Kitsune was doing research at, and began telling her that she actually had living relatives, he told her that in just a few hours, she’d be sought out by two genealogists, that would tell her she had living relatives, thus confirming what he had said. She of course questioned this, asking him how the heck he knew all that. But she only got a cryptic answer before he said farewell, and walked out of the library, leaving Kitsune more confused than before. But sure enough, two genealogists showed up, thus confirming the Sensei’s story, and asked her to come with them to the Heartland.
