Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Kuragari was a strict teacher and even more so when it came to seals. The way of Onmyodo has a certain emphasis on seals, with a lot of their techniques utilizing them. Tasogare was no stranger to seals when he met Kuragari but the master gave him skills that his mother’s teachers couldn’t. It was by chance while in a spar with Kuragari that Tasogare was able to do something new with the seals. Tasogare formed handseals for a sealing jutsu and having become impatient with Kuragari having the upper hand Tas threw the seal from his palm to his teacher. Tas found this method more comfortable and his abilities to use seals become more proficient in combat.

It was one day soon after that Tas was approached by Kuragari and told that he would teach the sage how to perform the last sealing jutsu he had to teach him. He told him that Tas was surely an expert in using seals but no expert was truly so without being able to create power seals. Kuragari showed Tas the one he had on him and soon they began their training. The ritual was easy for Tas to learn, and it wasn’t long before Kuragari and the Tadashii watched Tas create his own seal on his chest opposite the Faita seal on his back. They made it a ceremony as if Tas was finished in his life long goal, and it gave the people hope that soon he would access the old temple and save them all. What all who were present didn’t know was that Kuragari tricked Tasogare into marking himself with a cursed seal.

Clarity/Insight
Tasogare was born gifted by the gods as well as cursed. For all the bad caused by his family’s connection to them there were some equally good things. Tas’s natural connection to the spiritual world allowed Tas the ability to interact with the spirits that roamed there. The gods’ power allows Tas to interact with the physical world the way these spirits see the spiritual world, giving him an intense clarity of his surroundings. He sees the way each sand is positioned before him, he can pin point a pin drop to the nearest square foot from a mile away, and he has a better sense of when his form is actually being interacted with.

This spiritual clarity isn’t limited to illusions of genjutsu, but also shinobi tactics which allow them to hide their moves. As shinobi are ninjas, there tends to be a lot of shady happenings, and Tas is able to see through the haze and use the spirit world to know what his opponent is up to at all times. Instead of relying on his normal senses Tas can hear the voices of the spirits themselves tattletale on Tas’ enemies. The spirits live in a hidden world away from the physical and don’t follow physical law telling them they can’t see what a person’s doing in the shadows or behind their back.

Elementalist/Jutsu Expansion/Jutsu Mastery
Tasogare’s mastery over ninjutsu was assured when he began to learn how he could manipulate the elements on a whim. He found when using lower level jutsu he was able to change their basic composition to add addition effects and change the jutsu to fit any situation. He made them stronger, he made them more accurate, and as his ability progressed he did more. He gained an increased control over certain affinities as he learned more jutsu for those elements and with those elements he was able to add additional effects, not just making them stronger but more flexible in terms of how the jutsu is actually performed.

More training and dedication brought Tasogare another step forward with his goal of becoming a master of all ninjutsu. No longer would he be limited by the innate strength of a jutsu. With more effort and more chakra he was able to make most jutsu stronger. He could take weaker jutsu and increase their usefulness so they could compete with his more advanced techniques, increasing their potency while remaining true to their art. He mostly used this for lower class creation jutsu that don’t quite hold up, but he wasn’t against using this to make his more favorite offensive jutsu viable.

Tasogare trained his whole life for one thing: Saving the people of Sunagakure. He was meant to become a master of ninjutsu to contain the power of the gods inside the old temple. Since he was a child Tasogare trained from every great teacher his mother could find to teach him, and he gained an affinity for all the basic elements. Somehow this wasn’t enough and Tas began to train under Kuragari who taught the then young sage how to properly manage his chakra. Tas gained a new control over his jutsu which allowed him to give them more power for less chakra, which meant less effort was necessary for all jutsu.

Alignment Focus
Tasogare felt that his soul was connected to the universe, and with this feeling his inner power allowed him to see and become connected to a different plane of existence. He became a part of another world, the spiritual world. With a connection to this world he could imbue spiritual energy into his attacks and also into himself, which gave his attacks a certain quality which allowed them to partially phase through physical barriers. Like Tas his jutsu had one foot stuck in the physical world and the other foot in the spiritual world and he focused on this gift to a point where it become more potent and more of the jutsu would become part of the spiritual world and bypass any physical barriers.

First off, shadow, sand, and fire are listed in minor and major affinities. They should just be in major right? I guess technically they would be both but Idk if it was on purpose or not.

Next, I’ve mastered half of all ANBU and Medical jutsu as per this training so they should be placed into minor affinities.

While I’m thinking about it, I’ve mastered half of non-elemental jutsu so that should be in minor, too. I’ve got 12 mastered out of 24 (not counting contract summoning and cursed sealing)

I bought the class point asp card and would like to add +5% sneak attack for 2 points to my class please.
 
Couple of things…

Let’s start with this, make sure you look over the previous post for that stuff ;)

Then, as of this training I’ll have all water, wind, ANBU, and Medical jutsu mastered giving me a major affinity in all of those.

Not sure if this needs to be in my dojo but my first soul harvest soul was approved so here’s the information for that in no particular order (just copied from the request):

Core Ability: Steadfast

Maximum Defense - Ability Modification (2 points)
Restriction- Requires Defensive Technique
Effect: When using Defensive Stance, you can trade 1 point of Accuracy in order to reduce oncoming damage by 5% instead of gaining a dodge bonus (to a maximum of -2 accuracy and -10% damage taken), or you can trade 1 point of Accuracy for 1 point of Dodge up to a maximum of 6 (as opposed to the previous 4).

Stand Fast - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
Effect: For one round, the user reduces all damage against themselves by 75% but cannot attack in that round. Usable only once per combat. Does not take any more Damage reduction buffs. If the user is not hit during the round this is used, it will not count as being used.

Human Shield - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- Requires Body Switch
Effect: The Steadfast can switch places with an ally that is attacked at a cost of 0.5 AP (they cannot switch places with an ally when they are being attacked). Allies that are aware of this ability and can Body Switch with real clones can designate the Steadfast as a target; if the Steadfast is unwilling to switch, then the jutsu automatically fails. The triggering attack is resolved against the Steadfast instead, who can attempt to dodge it normally.

Awesome Power - Ability Modification (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up, Requires Hidden Power
Effect: Whenever the user loses 10% of their maximum HP, the user gains +1 Dodge/Gen Save to attacks made against them for the next 10 seconds. May stack multiple times, up to a maximum of +3. Normal ability effect still applies once the user reaches below 50% max HP.

Willfull - Boost (2 points)
Restriction- Can only be purchased a maximum of two times
Effect: +2 Genjutsu Save

Second Wind - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
Effect: The user regains 20% max HP, and cancels all Bleeding. This is usable only once per combat.

Free Will - Passive (2 points)
Effect: The Steadfast gains +2 Dodge/Save against binds, and has an additional +5% chance of escaping.

Resilience - Boost (3 points)
Restriction- Can be purchased up to three times
Effect: +6 HP modifier.

Reciprocate - A-Rank Variable Taijutsu (2 points)
Restriction- A-Rank and up
Rank 2: Deals all of the damage dealt to the Steadfast in the past three rounds (including damage that was negated), at +2 Accuracy
Cost: 3 AP, Costs CP equal to 50% of the damage Dealt

In that same thread I performed a bloodline change from Tsuchimikado to Magician so I’ll be assigning my points. I don’t have an ability I need yet but I’m going to be doing some ability swaps soon so I’m only assigning 17 pts for right now.

Magic Sigil - Passive (3 pts)

Effect: Whenever the user is hit by an attack, 10% of all damage dealt is also dealt to the Sigil. At the end of each round, the Sigil detonates, dealing its damage to the last person to attack the user, using the user's Ninjutsu Accuracy or Genjutsu DC as chosen but always targeting the enemy's Evasion. The Sigil reforms at the beginning of each round.
Notes:</I>
- The user's damage buffs do not apply to damage done by the Sigil. However, their Accuracy or Genjutsu DC buffs do.
- The Sigil is not considered a separate target from the user, and may not be targeted on its own.
- Damage from the Sigil is never Illusionary, even if part or all of the original damage was.
- Damage from the Sigil is considered typeless, and ignores all forms of damage reduction and barriers.
- The Sigil is considered to have negative priority, meaning it will occur after all other actions in a round--including other actions occuring at 10s. If multiple Sigils are active at once, normal action stack rules are used for them.
- If the user does not specify that round what accuracy type the Sigil's attack uses, whichever is higher is chosen. If neither is higher, Genjutsu DC is used.

Magician's Trance - Chakra Style (3 points)

Effect: While in this style, the user may cast Ninjutsu and Genjutsu without handseals or movement, including those that normally require full handseals. If the user is placed into a bind that prevents chakra use while this is active, they may choose to reflexively reroll it at +2 in their favour for the cost of 1 AP and 3% Max HP. This may be done once per round. However, while this is active, the user takes +15% damage from Taijutsu.
Note: Like any other fighting style, this can be turned on or off at the user’s discretion or lack thereof.

Magic Affinity - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- May be purchased up to three times
With minds sharp and finely honed, a Magician is particularly adept at casting illusions. Their skill with them enables their Genjutsu to be much likelier to land on an unsuspecting target.
Effect: +3 Genjutsu DC

Arcane Designs - Dependent Special Move (3 points)

Effect: For +30% CP, the user may charge a Ninjutsu or Genjutsu Clone or Creation jutsu. The charged jutsu gains a CP pool equivalent to 1/4 of the user's. Charged Ninjutsu may use any jutsu of its element the user knows at Rank 1, while charged Genjutsu may use any Genjutsu the user knows at Rank 1. If the Clone or Creation does not normally have secondaries, its secondaries are treated as -4 of the user's; if it does not normally have HP, its HP is treated as 1/4 of the user's. If the user's Ninjutsu Accuracy is at Average or lower, the charged Ninjutsu gains the difference in Accuracy between Average and High at the user's Character Level.
Notes:
- Clones/Creations affected by Arcane Designs will now disperse or be destroyed permanently once its HP is reduced to 0. This note overrides any effects on the Clone/Creation that would destroy it through other means.
- The user may only have one jutsu affected by Arcane Designs active at a time.

Inner Tranquility - Independent Special Move (3 pts)

Effect: For 1.5 AP, the user enters a state where their maintained effects that use chakra cannot be disrupted or forcibly ended, including by chakra binds. However, each time an opponent attempts to disrupt the user's maintained effects, the user pays the maintain cost again to keep them active. Lasts for 25 seconds and may not be activated again for 10 seconds after it ends.


Lucid Dreaming - Variable Genjutsu (2 points)

Rank 2: The user targets every player on the battlefield, including allies. Techniques opponents cast for the duration that would inflict Illusionary damage have -2 Accuracy/DC, and techniques the user and allies cast that would inflict Illusionary damage have +2 Accuracy/DC. While this jutsu is active, the first hit the user and their allies take each round that would normally knock them out of Stealth does not.

Rank 2 Cost: 3 AP; 6% Max CP to initiate, 3% Max CP/rnd to maintain
Notes:<I>
- Lasts up to 30 seconds.
- When casting, the user specifies which sensory slot to target for each of the other players. If all of them are using the same slot, the user gains +1 Genjutsu DC for the initial casting and all checks.
- The user must specify which players are classed as allies and which are classed as enemies during the initial cast.
- Enemy B-Rank+ Genjutsu cast on allies in the same slot attempting to override Lucid Dreaming gain +2 Genjutsu DC.
- If an enemy is not under the effect of Lucid Dreaming for any reason, they are still targeted at +2 Accuracy/DC by allies who are; likewise, allies not under the effect of Lucid Dreaming still are targeted at -2 Accuracy/DC by enemies who are.
- The user always gains the positive effects of Lucid Dreaming as long as it is being maintained, but does not have a sensory slot filled.
- No matter what techniques the user possesses, this may not be maintained while resting.
- May not be cast again until 15 seconds after it ends.
 
First I need to add crystal as an advanced element, and as of this training I have mastered all crystal jutsu so it's a major affinity.

Next? Some ability swaps. Each rp is 200 words, 100 for the removed and another 100 for the new.
Alignment focus (Spiritual) —> Alignment focus (Cursed)

I had slipped down the wrong path. I wondered every now and then what my mother might think if I were still alive. She loved my good natured know it all personality. I made a mistake in thinking that the things I had to do wouldn't change me. In fact, when I killed my first innocent I opened flood gates inside my soul. My spiritual connection was overrun by cursed energy and it severed that connection. I lost more than just the green coloring in one eye, I lost my focus. My sanity became shaky as the cursed energy began to fully corrupt my mind.
I started to become more connected with the cursed energy. I embraced it's chaos because I knew that it would help me to bring my mother back from the dead. Kuragari insisted that although I had lost my spiritual side, the curse will propel me to more power. With that power I could bring back my mother and open the seal on the gods' temple. I could break the curse once and for all. All I had to do was use the cursed energy's power to complete my tasks. I allowed what was once my enemy to become my ally and supporter.


Jutsu mastery —> Stalker

My expertise was always ninjutsu and I formed a tight bond with my chakra. I became highly efficient at casting jutsu over the years to where I could cast with a slightly lower expense of chakra. Once I allowed the curse to take over I began to feel a difference in my chakra right away. I could feel a struggle happening in my body where my chakra system was shocked by the sudden flood of corruption. This made it harder to channel my chakra into my hand seals. I would end up using far more chakra than was necessary and nearly twice as much for alterations.
I needed to make every attack count. I began to take a page from the ANBU and learned to hide myself from the enemy and strike from the shadows. I had an uncomfortable relationship with the shadows, but they took me in and embraced me. I soon found myself using this ability to reconnect with society. I would practice in the mall and in the residential districts, hiding and enjoying the feeling. I became quite proficient and found that I felt better in the dark. I could see people, but they couldn't see me. It felt powerful, and I kept doing it. I became quite the creep.


Insight —> Illusionist

When I was younger I thought of myself as a prodigy. I had all the best teachers because I was supposed to be the savior to the Tadashii people. I had a very well cataloged knowledge of all things involved in battle early on in my genin years. I was adept at battle and I could often see things that other's missed. It allowed me to gain the advantage of not being taken by surprised in intense situations. Over time as the corruption spread in my body I became less aware. It was hard to focus with so many conflicting emotions and so if I was less aware of my enemy then my enemy would have to be less aware of reality.
I wanted to give people a glimpse of what it was like to be insane like me. In moments of clarity I can see myself and how I must appear to people. I began to harness this and focused on learning the arts of genjutsu. From the shadows I could impede their senses to make it harder to find me. I began to use genjutsu more in my combat practices and found that my newfound hide-and-seek skills translated well to my genjutsu. I was capable of casting genjutsu from further away to keep myself from being seen when I strike.

I was gifted in ninjutsu, as I've mentioned, and I had a certain aptitude for manipulating the elements. This was especially true of the elements I had an extensive knowledge of, and so I learned everything about as many as I could. Then I began to put a heavy focus into genjutsu and it was as if some of that skill was kicked out. For the first time since I was young I was finding myself unable to alter my jutsu as drastically as I could before. I was beginning to lose control of my natural skill at controlling the elements.
I began to experiment with my genjutsu, trying to find some common ground to make up for this loss of skill. I wanted to add some manipulation to my genjutsu and I still had an incredible knowledge of the elements. I found that I could combine my elemental chakra with my genjutsu to make it more solid. The elements flowed through my illusions, causing different effects based on the element. Some drowned, some were buried, and some were blown away. I was only able to control the base elements with any degree of certainty by this point, and so it was limited but it would do.
 
First I need to add crystal as an advanced element, and as of this training I have mastered all crystal jutsu so it's a major affinity.

Next? Some ability swaps. Each rp is 200 words, 100 for the removed and another 100 for the new.

I had slipped down the wrong path. I wondered every now and then what my mother might think if I were still alive. She loved my good natured know it all personality. I made a mistake in thinking that the things I had to do wouldn't change me. In fact, when I killed my first innocent I opened flood gates inside my soul. My spiritual connection was overrun by cursed energy and it severed that connection. I lost more than just the green coloring in one eye, I lost my focus. My sanity became shaky as the cursed energy began to fully corrupt my mind.
I started to become more connected with the cursed energy. I embraced it's chaos because I knew that it would help me to bring my mother back from the dead. Kuragari insisted that although I had lost my spiritual side, the curse will propel me to more power. With that power I could bring back my mother and open the seal on the gods' temple. I could break the curse once and for all. All I had to do was use the cursed energy's power to complete my tasks. I allowed what was once my enemy to become my ally and supporter.


Jutsu mastery —> Stalker

My expertise was always ninjutsu and I formed a tight bond with my chakra. I became highly efficient at casting jutsu over the years to where I could cast with a slightly lower expense of chakra. Once I allowed the curse to take over I began to feel a difference in my chakra right away. I could feel a struggle happening in my body where my chakra system was shocked by the sudden flood of corruption. This made it harder to channel my chakra into my hand seals. I would end up using far more chakra than was necessary and nearly twice as much for alterations.
I needed to make every attack count. I began to take a page from the ANBU and learned to hide myself from the enemy and strike from the shadows. I had an uncomfortable relationship with the shadows, but they took me in and embraced me. I soon found myself using this ability to reconnect with society. I would practice in the mall and in the residential districts, hiding and enjoying the feeling. I became quite proficient and found that I felt better in the dark. I could see people, but they couldn't see me. It felt powerful, and I kept doing it. I became quite the creep.


Insight —> Illusionist

When I was younger I thought of myself as a prodigy. I had all the best teachers because I was supposed to be the savior to the Tadashii people. I had a very well cataloged knowledge of all things involved in battle early on in my genin years. I was adept at battle and I could often see things that other's missed. It allowed me to gain the advantage of not being taken by surprised in intense situations. Over time as the corruption spread in my body I became less aware. It was hard to focus with so many conflicting emotions and so if I was less aware of my enemy then my enemy would have to be less aware of reality.
I wanted to give people a glimpse of what it was like to be insane like me. In moments of clarity I can see myself and how I must appear to people. I began to harness this and focused on learning the arts of genjutsu. From the shadows I could impede their senses to make it harder to find me. I began to use genjutsu more in my combat practices and found that my newfound hide-and-seek skills translated well to my genjutsu. I was capable of casting genjutsu from further away to keep myself from being seen when I strike.

Tas had progressed far into his genjutsu training. As the curse began to take over his chakra system he noticed a difference in the way his genjutsus acted. There was almost a physicality in the way they started to affect the senses. Tas' chakra would invade the brain and fill it with the thoughts of his darkest illusions. Once taken in by them the target seemed to become less able to defend themselves. Attacks seemed to cause more damage to them while they were under those effects. It was as if the body's sense of touch was enhanced to feel the illusions, causing all attacks directed at them to cause more damage.
