Today was a bright and sunny day, not a cloud in sight. Akumi woke up early, she sat up in bed and looked at the bag she had packed. She got dressed, put on her pouches, then sat on her desk for a moment, she took a few minutes to look out the window in front of her desk. She could see into the yard, and she remembered hanging out with her brother quite a few times in that yard. He wasn't home often, but she still was able to spend time with him at home. This place was no longer a home, it was like a dam that was about to break. She almost felt bad about leaving her brother behind, but he was a big boy, he could take live without her. It'd probably be a day or two before he would get the note she'd leave for him.
After leaving a goodbye note for Tamashi in his room, she left her house and went on her way to the gates. In the notes, she was very vague, not saying why, or where she was going. Just a simple I love you and a good bye. Almost sounding like a suicidal note, but she was far from that. She was careful to cover her tracks, and she was well prepared. She would have to meet up with Tango soon. They were meant to meet by a shop, where they usually meet for missions. She waited a little bit but soon he arrived. Tango, her best friend. "All ready? Let's go?" She stated with a nod. She knew he was eager to go already.
Once they made it to the gates, it was still early morning, and the sun was bright in the sky, shadows were thin and very little. The sound of bugs could be heard, and the heat seemed to be tense. Akumi walked beside Tango.
Akumi did send a letter to her friend not too long ago, hopefully, they received the letter. But she was not waiting for them, she gave them the date and the time to come, but if they were a no show, that would be okay. She didn't expect them to come, or maybe they just did not receive the mail in time. Either way, at least her friend would know that she would no longer be in the village. She still expected to fight him at one point, but today, she had to get moving and head out of this godforsaken place. She couldn't wait to support her new found god without any judgment, per freedom. It'd just be her, and her best friend. The road is going to be long and hard for the both of them, at least she did not have to worry about being cast out because of her Blood line, or who she worshipped. The village might come after them, but Akumi and Tango could easily fight them off if they stuck together. They'd need to rely on each other heavily out there, one day they'd return to Konoha though. Depending on their experiences would determine how they would greet the villagers. Akumi would need to one day return to check up on her stuff she left behind, and her brother.
The gates were crowded, today was the day shipments came in, vendors, and traders from all around were coming through the gates, so it was pretty crowded. Two more heads in the crowd would not be noticeable. Well, one head since akumi was too short to even be seen in the crowd, Maybe Tango's head could be seen, who knew. She knew he was taller than her.
This was it, Akumi was leaving this place, and she did not plan on coming back, at least not for a while. Things would be different when she came back, she will be older, stronger, and more mature. Maybe she'll never come back. All she knew was this was not her home.
It never truly felt like home. "I am glad I am not alone in this, Tango." She said to her dearest friend and looked up at him. She made so many memories in the village with him, her brother, and a few others, but it was time to move on, grow up. and become free.
It did not take long for them to blend into the crowd, moving quickly and silently through it to make their exit. It wouldn't be long now, they would be out, and starting on their freedom journey. Akumi had a short plan, the rest she'd have to make up after her main goal was obtained. Baby steps, they would have to leave the village first.
