Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information
In the rocky crags of Momentum Deo, he had left instructions with the one known as Suika to meet him. The destination was within a valley where the sun couldn't penetrate, leaving consistent shadows with many places to hide. The point of this class was to teach Suika ways to counter people who go into hiding during combat; one of his specialties. It may seem foolish to teach others how to counter your strengths, but Kyo was under the impression that Suika was part of his pack. Members of the pack wouldn't betray others without fear of being outcast; to become an Omega or to become a lone-wolf. [lb2][/lb2]
The valley was more of a fissure, having 2 walls just mere feet from one another; 20 feet apart to be more exact. In the center of these tight walls resided a lone white wolf sitting and waiting. The instructor, Kyo, seemed to be completely gone from what it seemed. Kyo spoke to the wolf from his hidden position, his voice bouncing off of the faces of the rock walls, bouncing around nearly endlessly making it difficult to pin-point his position. The wolf let out a loud howl that reverberated through the rocky canyon, using the sparsely spaced walls as a way to amplify her voice. This howl could be heard by Suika on her way towards this position as a beacon; a very loud beacon. A natural megaphone used to communicate long distance. [lb2][/lb2]

Another day, another task. Preparing herself for a little excursion outside the village, Suika gathered her shinobi tools and equipped her Kumogakure headband. At the gates, she revealed to the guardsmen her assignment. “Kyo-san, hmm? Have fun.” The man stated simply. The kunoichi wasn’t sure if she sensed a hit of sarcasm in his voice, but she shrugged it off. She trekked along a mountainy path toward Cloud’s Momentum Deo. Having resided in the village for over a year now, it wasn’t too hard to navigate around the outskirts of it. It was soon that she neared the meeting point that the shinobi mapped out for her.

“Where are they at?” mused the kunoichi. From her previous experience with the man, she already assumed he’d be accompanied by his grand, snow-coated dire wolf. Dakota typically appeared where Kyo did. It wasn’t long until her question was answered by the shinobi’s familiar themselves. A loud, audible howl echoed throughout the jagged valley. Like a wolf reacting to the call of its pack, Suika dashed toward its primal source. She soon found herself approaching a fissure that stood with a twenty-foot gap. According to her extra-sensory perception and her theory regarding the probable location of Dakota’s howl, Suika leaped into the middle of it and landed on to her feet. She was now before the wolf. “Hey, Dakota-san.” The kunoichi bowed her head respectfully at the beast. The girl recognized the canine was no fool, so she gave due respect. With her magenta eyes gleaming with a subtle curiosity, Suika took a few glances around.

“Where is Kyo-sensei?” The Ghostwalker honed in to her supernatural senses – her instructor had to be nearby. Was he taking a pee break? “Likely.” she figured. However, this could also have been part of the tutor that was assigned to her. She awaited further instruction.

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information
The sound of bow-strings being pulled back softly creaked within the small valley that all three actors had assembled into. Kyo had his eyes set upon the young child that made their way into the valley, speaking to the massive direwolf. Good, she came alone. Thankfully that snot-nosed brat didn't wander in to make a mess of things like he did previously. Taking a slow, yet deep breath in, Kyo held his breath and aimed the arrow towards the little girl's chest before letting the arrow go. His arm moved downwards at the very last second. [lb2][/lb2]
The bizarre u-shape of the hollow arrows made a whistling noise as the projectile hissed towards Suika only to slam into the ground, splintering into several hundred smaller splinters. The wooden, sometimes bamboo arrow didn't have a metal tip like other arrows did so it wasn't as sturdy, putting all of the force into the arrow's shaft, itself, instead of into the head of the arrow. After letting the arrow go, Kyo quickly changed positions so his position wouldn't be compromised. That would defeat the purpose of this class. The arrival of the arrow caused the Direwolf to turn her head to look at the colliding arrow unflinchingly. Something as simple as an arrow clashing with the ground wasn't enough to spook the massive creature. After examining the arrow, Dakota turned her attention back to Suika with a static face.[lb2][/lb2]
"Good! You came alone like instructed! And you didn't bring that booger-breathed moron with you either!" Kyo said as his voice echoed throughout the valley, reverberating from wall-to-wall making it difficult for someone to spot where he was. "Now that you're a tool for the government, you need to learn how to attack someone that has gone into hiding. Tell me, what do you know about blind fighting?" Kyo asked as his voice bounced off many walls before reaching Suika's ears.

Staring at the dire wolf, Dakota really didn’t make too much an effort to acknowledge Suika’s presence. The canine appeared pretty calm as if her sole presence was all according to plan. The kunoichi, still wary of Kyo’s whereabouts, planted herself in front of the wolf and awaited further instruction. However, something did not feel right. Her supernatural senses alerted her of… something. But what? It wasn’t long until an arrow landed at her feet. Actually, the arrow was aimed right at her, but shifted its direction and made an odd turn toward the jagged earthen surface. Like Dakota, the girl did not flinch herself, but a small bead of sweat did drip from her brow. Despite her keen perception, she did not anticipate the assault or the arrow’s trajectory at all. “Damn.” she remarked in her head. She was a bit irritated with herself – she should have known better.

Her self-reprimand was soon interrupted by her instructor’s reverberated call. Hmm? He briefly mentioned Eishi, which pulled from her a subtle grin. “It’s not like I brought him there last time…” she replied in her head. She loved Eishi, but god forbid if she was to be permanently associated with him now. Like the passing thought it was, Suika honed in on his next set of words. Blind fighting?

“…Kind of, Kyo-sensei!” she responded by cupping her hands around her mouth and booming her voice so that her tone also echoed throughout the fissure. It was a funny way of communicating, but she went with it. “My team leader was Pao, a Hashigaki! I observed some from him! I could learn more!” Which was completely true, but again, she wasn’t a Hashigaki herself. And were Hashigaki really blind? While she was intrigued by what her red-headed teacher had in store for her, she also prepared herself. Kyo, she gathered, wasn’t the soft type. She was sure he’d ensure she learned any lesson by whatever means necessary. Suika awaited further direction from the man as her focused eyes rested on the static expression of his familiar.

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information
Kyo threaded another arrow into his bow and pulled the arrow back, aiming this shot at the girl's left leg. This time, he had no intention of missing. The girl responded about her team leader, Pao, and his fighting style. Kyo didn't know about this person nor did he care to ask about their credentials. None of that was necessary at the moment. What DID matter, however, was the fact that the girl had some knowledge on fighting blind. "Very well. Then you know that area of effect attacks are best used when combating someone in stealth. You also know that attacks from stealth are particularly dangerous as they appear where you wouldn't expect," Kyo said before clearing his throat gently and then letting his arrow loose towards Suika's leg. This time, he had no intention of missing; it was entirely up to Suika to avoid the strike, assuming she was able to sense the attack coming.[lb2][/lb2]
After Kyo let the arrow loose, he jumped to another portion of the canyon to reposition himself. It was stealth 101 that stated that once you've made an attack in stealth, and wasn't noticed, you move to a different location to make it more difficult for people you were trying to 'fake out' to remain such. "If you have any area of effect jutsu, now would be a great time to use it, little Suika," Kyo stated as he resheathed his bow behind his back and flexed his hands. White fur started to appear around his hands with 5 inch long claws protruding out of the furry paw. The claw had a strange black and green energy around it. Unlike most energy, this darkness doesn't produce any light. [lb2][/lb2]
The sounds of rapid-fire 'tch' could be heard before Dakota stood straight up and took a combat pose directly in front of Suika and growled, showing off her teeth. Dakota let out a quick little bark before jumping towards Suika, taking a swipe at her with it's claws. Even if he instructed her to perform an AoE jutsu, Kyo wasn't going to let her do it for free; that just wouldn't be realistic enough. Dakota tried to let out another swipe of her claws before lunging in for a bite. It was entirely up to Suika to avoid these attacks as well as fire back at Kyo. How will she fair in all of this?

Focusing in on another possible attack, Suika switched into a defensive stance and stayed on high alert. Luckily, she was aided by her advantaged awareness due to her supernatural perception, but it wasn’t enough to completely dodge Kyo’s next arrow strike. Hearing the slow whistle of the arrow as it pierced through the air, the kunoichi leaped to the side. The weapon grazed the side of her leg as she was inflicted with a minor wound. “Ouch.” she responded in her head as she winced. So this was how it was going to be, huh? She had to think fast, especially since she figured that wouldn’t be the last of the man’s stealthy assault.

The red-headed Chuunin acknowledged her previous training, and, when doing so, also gave her a bit of advice. Area of effect jutsu? Such wasn’t Suika’s strong point; she was definitely a duelist at heart. Alas, it wasn’t long until she conjured a plan. Before she could form the seals necessary, Dakota turned against the girl. The wolf bared their fangs as they launched out and attempted to swipe Suika. Fortunately, she had prepared to counter another arrow, so Dakota’s attack triggered her reactive Shadow Ninjutsu. As the dire wolf swiped at her, the kunoichi melted into the shadows as she completely avoided the attack. Placing herself at a dark, shaded spot in the fissure, she enacted her next plan.

“Fight stealth with stealth. They’ll probably find me soon, so I better make this quick.” The Genin formed seals and, from her spot, launched forth a large, ebony dragon. The creation was also manifested from the girl’s affinity for Shadow Ninjutsu. Like a puppet, Suika manipulated the dragon to spew out black flames around the fissured area. Hopefully it’d hit Dakota and/or possibly Kyo, but she wasn’t too sure if it would. She prepared herself for any counter-attack as she, too, shifted from her hiding place onto the next.

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information
Kyo cracked a grin as the young girl countered Kyo's stealth ability with her own. Dakota looked around in confusion and let out a loud howl. The shadow jutsu made it difficult for Kyo to see what was going only to find that the girl had vanished from view. This impressed Kyo. Perhaps the girl didn't have her own selection of Area of Effect ninjutsu. This was an interesting amount of intelligence he just gathered. If she had a selection of area of effect ninjutsu, she probably would have used it by now; given the suggestion he made to her earlier. This caused Kyo to think for a moment. If only he had laid off the cigarettes, his sense of smell would still be on-par with how it was back when he lived on the Spine of the World. Alas, his ability to smell was comparable to that of a normal human beings'. Disgusting.[lb2][/lb2]
Kyo looked around for a moment to try to discern where Suika would be hiding. He had to play this smart so he could remain hidden and continue the lesson. He took a moment to think about what he should do. The best way to show that area of effect would get someone out of hiding was to actually practice what he preached. Kyo flung together a few handseals together and conjured up 3 large spikes that struck a wide area. The jutsu was known as 'Darkness Falls' where it affected an area, striking it three times with a massive spike of shadows. He would continue his assault on the young girl, but doing more would bring him out of stealth, which he didn't want to do. [lb2][/lb2]
Dakota jumped into the crag and started bouncing around, blindly groping for Suika's presence. She knew where Kyo was but didn't know where Suika was. "Interesting approach! But doing that just tells me that you don't have any area jutsu. Could have at least bluffed it!" he said as his voice continued to bounce around on the walls. While he was speaking, he formed together more handseals to have Earth Clones appear next to him. Kyo moved out of this position and forced the other clones to move around and separate. While this happened, Kyo also formed another set of handseals, causing a shadowy dragon to appear from out of nowhere. The dragon started to climb the walls of the crag that the group was in and let out a high pitched 'hiss' as it moved around. The dragon, completely made of incorporeal shadow, took to the air and flapped it's wings, looking around like a turret. Upon seeing an empty space, the Ebony Nightmare let out a massive roar and then doused the area (the empty area) with black fire, hoping to singe and torch anything alive in there.

The exercise, which was quickly escalating into a semi-intense battle, continued as Kyo, himself, utilized his own advice and conjured dark spikes to run along the shadows. Anticipating his attack, Suika attempted to dodge, but a spike was able to hit her. It didn’t cause bleeding, but his ninjutsu definitely packed a hard punch. The girl speedily recovered as her ebony dragon continued to spew flames out. Suddenly, another dragon, matching her own, emerged from the shadows. With a venomous hiss, the shadowy lizard breathed a blackened fire as if a mirror of her creation. The dragon aimed at an empty area she wasn’t in, but this game of hide-and-seek was growing more difficult. What would Suika do? Both Kyo and Dakota were on her tail; she had to act fast.

“That’s it!” she thought as if a lightbulb lit up over her head. With her given cue, her ebony beast doused another area with its darkened flames. Wasting no time of her potential opportunity, Suika manifested a good number of projectiles. The whole set, ethereal by nature, were also imbued with a glowing light that she willed upon its creation (Lantern augment). Suika then launched each weapon out along every angle of the fissure. As she wasn’t proficient with her ranged accuracy, the kunoichi improved her assault by using her Kinesis jutsu, Psionic Assault, to add more force and strength into her projectiles. It worked. Each projectile, now rocketing at a blinding speed due to the utility of her ninjutsu, pierced themselves along the walls of the fissure. It released a faint light that brought another level of clarity for all within in it.

Was it enough? “This would reveal me, too, but my main priority is identifying Kyo.” She prepared herself for the results of her actions and any potential repercussions.

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information
Kyo remained in the shadows as the two dark dragons duked it out. After he made his dragon spew fire into an abyss, the other dragon came over and bit Kyo's on the throat causing a loud death-wail to be heard. Sucking air between his teeth, Kyo prepared himself for a counter-attack only to see projectiles being sent all of the canyon, illuminating the darkness within the canyon. He attempted to move out of the area, in hopes of avoiding the light, but it was to failure that he moved into one of the shining beacons tossed into the canyon walls. With a sigh, Kyo jumped up on the canyon walls and stopped what he was doing, making himself completely visible to Suika. Just a brief moment later, Dakota was at his side, catching her breath from all of the running-around she had to do.[lb2][/lb2]
"That's one way to do it, I guess!" Kyo shouted down into the canyon, expecting Suika to be there. "While that was a very smart way to do it, I still suggest getting some area of effect jutsu so you could have an offensive presence as well. Otherwise, you did a good job. Now go away," Kyo shouted out as he turned his back towards Suika, made a dismissive hand-gesture as if to 'wave her off' before walking away from this place.

It appeared that Suika’s strategy worked out after all. After the launching of her glowing, ghostly projectiles that were rocketed by her Kinesis genjutsu, each projectile landed as the fissure was elevated into a new visibility. Suddenly, Kyo made himself visible to the kunoichi as he jumped up and over the canyon. Following Kyo and Dakota, the girl also ran up the fissure’s walls and was greeted by the sun’s light. Squinting her eyes as to adjust, the red-headed instructor offered his recommendation, reinforced the Genin with some praise, and told her to scram. Suika grinned. This exercise was a success.

Kyo had a point, though. As a shinobi, it was important to be well-versed in all areas, including knowing jutsu that were geared toward area of effect and, possibly, revealing hidden enemies. It was coincidental that this concept was brought up, as the kunoichi was amid learning jutsu that would do just that. While she was determined to further her affinity for Shadow ninjutsu, she was starting to manifest the advanced element of ‘Photon’, a jutsu that focused on light energy, to add to her arsenal. If only she had access to that for this exercise. Nonetheless, this prompted further inspiration to nail down her ninjutsu training.

“Time to go home.” Taking the lesson she learned today, Suika waved goodbye to Kyo and Dakota. They were well on their way with their backs turned toward her, but she didn’t mind. She returned back to Kumogakure.
