Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.
Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.
Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.
The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.
The Raikage finally made his way to the scene, bolstering Nozomi's confidence and morale. A warrior king is a king worth fighting for. One who sits in his lofty and safe castle isn't a king worth fighting for. Spotting the Raikage from the corner of her eye, she replaced the magazine in her anti-material rifle and re-adjusted the windage and elevation upon her rifle. Through her scope, she saw a myriad of colors fighting against the darkness; a prism trying to inject light into the encroaching blackness. She cleared her throat and pulled the bolt of her rifle back, replacing an older casing with a brand new one. A thought clicked into her head as she put two-and-two together. Earlier in the ANBU questioning room, a man used photon jutsu, which she easily countered with Mirror, but it was strange to her that something composed of entirely darkness approached. Things began to confuse Nozomi a bit, but she decided to 'take a stab into the dark'.
Clearing her throat, she let the rifle stay upon the ground, stood up, and formed together a series of handseals. A bright light started to form over her head before raising up to the top of the cave within Dragon Tooth Pass and started to spread out like a blanket of light. This light was very, very illuminous, lighting up every nook and cranny. It was her thought that, in order to defeat the darkness, you had to remove any place for it to hide. With another flurry of handseals, she caused some of the light to focus just below the dinosaur before assaulting it with burning rays of light. Without taking a breath between each set of handseals, she formed yet another set of handseals as another gathering of light formed just above the dinosaur.
This series of handseals caused wings of light to momentarily appear from her back with her right eye starting to bleed. This was the first time something like this had happened. Was it an omen or foreshadowing of things to come? The ball of light formed into a sun-like structure, irradiating oppressive heat towards the dinosaur-like monstrosity. After the conclusion of the jutsu, she took a knee and started to nurse her bleeding eye. Her vision began to grow blurry as she stared into her now-bloodied palm. She turned to look towards the last known location of the Raikage, only to see everything falling out of focus. "We have your back, Raikage-sama!" she shouted out before turning her head towards Anna Rose. "Go for it, Anna Rose!" she shouted out.
As Nozomi was performing her illumination jutsu, Anna Rose let out a loud roar at the Dinosaur. "I'm the only LIZARD ROYALTY ALLOWED HERE!!!" Anna Rose shouted out during her roar before taking a step back, forming an Odama Rasengan in it's mouth. The orb grew in size equivalent to the anger and hunger that she was feeling right now, causing the ball to change into something of a comically large size. When she was satisfied with the massive size of the ball, she swung her head towards the other Dinosaur in hopes to shred it with her overly-sized Rasengan ball. One that jutsu had concluded, she took a step forward and let out a howl.
The fact that a dinosaur was summoning meteors was kind of ironic, but that's what Anna Rose did. As if the meteors phased through the actual ceiling of the Dragon Tooth Pass, she summoned 10 meteors to fall upon the other dinosaur. With each hit, Anna Rose stomped her foot and shouted out words of superiority towards the other black monstrosity. "THIS IS MY TERRITORY, BITCH!!!" she shouted out.

Just as one could expect chaos was erupting within the area of the gates, people running, Shinobi gathering in front to see what the commotion was, some focusing more on healing and providing cover for the others, a few already sending their first strikes at the Giant creature, salvos of elemental fire and honest cold steel striking at it, while he struggled slightly. It seemed his power was a bit more unstable than he thought, and the techniques he wished to use to enhance his power did not work well with the energies coursing through his body...and now outside of it. If anyone paid attention the Sunaku male would now look like a different type of creature, his body covered in a coat of energy and sand spinning wildly around him, almost as if the sand itself manifested into a human-like shape. Before he could fully move he could see the best charge up a mighty attack, and before anyone could react, a giant Man arose right in front of the line of fire...
A bright flash and a deafening sound came with the explosion...as the dust settled, it seemed the damage from the blast was minimal to the gates... but the man who stood in front of it was no more...Turned to ash right in front of his eyes...he looked young...so young...fighting for his village... While he didn't even know the person, the general rage of seeing someone sacrifice his life due to a mindless beast attacking, be it by its own ravenous design or whatever machinations behind the scenes were at play, he didn't care. He wanted to tear it to shreds. The anger gave him the clarity to focus his powers and with that, he charged forward with blinding speed, almost as if a wile sandstorm contained in a small closed was zooming through the battlefield. And it would push forward scaling the beast and attacking it, large clawed hands appearing and just trying to tear away at the flesh. And even after the strike the wounds created were teaming with what looked like living sand, blacks specks mixed in with shining diamond-like bits which seemed to try and eat deeper into the wounds, to cause even more damage as the Sunaku dashed away and prepared for another barrage of strikes.
All Jutsu Cast At Master Rank
Dropping Maintains on All Jutsu Cast Previously other than Jinjuriki Elemental Manifestation
All Jutsu used with the following Technique's/ Buffs in Play:
Aura Strike
Effect: All actions the user would take with Melee Accuracy instead use Ninjutsu Accuracy. Attacks changed this way are treated as the user's chosen element and receive all buffs it would to damage, CP cost reduction, and accuracy. Transformed attacks also gain the benefits of the user's Alignment when Elemental Manifestation is active.
Note:
- Checks that normally would use Melee Accuracy are also changed into Ninjutsu Checks instead.
- If the attack being used is a Ninjutsu (one of those which uses Melee Accuracy) of a different element than the user's chosen element, it still gains the buffs but does not gain the benefit of being cast without handseals.
- Melee Taijutsu still gain the benefit of their weapon's augments, accuracy modifier, and damage modifier, as well as fringe benefits to their specific weapon type (such as Weapon Mastery). However, any buffs to Melee, in general, are ignored in favor of the new ones.
- Attacks transformed by this ability still count as melee contact.
Attacks will be cast under Sand element (which should benefit due to Sand being an AE based on earth) and with the Spiritual Alignment

She watched the faces of the people, the tears, the chaos, the terror. Her jutsu traveled towards the huge kingly beast but in the face of such large foes, what was she to do? That answer was about to be answered for her very shortly. She watched as the creature began to charge up an attack..a very large attack."Oh this is so not good."She muttered to herself glancing around for something to take shelter behind when her eyes fell on the gates. A man was standing in front of it staring down the enemy in a defiant fashion."What are you doing?! Get insi-!"Her yell was cut off by a echoing blast that resounded around the area knocking the Santaru to her feet. She scramble upwards almost instantly and directed her attention towards the gate. The person..he...he was no more. Gone. She could have sworn seeing him undertake a massive change in size as the attack hurtled towards him. Another death...and she had froze."No more..enough."The Captain spoke coldly turning to face the beast. The patterns of her eyes begin to swirl as she stared up at the creature."Alright, you want to play? I'm game, you horrendous oversized dragon!"She nearly screamed as chakra began to coat her arms and body. The lightning began to buzz almost in tune with her as the tight band holding her hair in a bun snapped and the loose locks of black hair fell down to her shoulders."I'll show you what true pain looks like!"
She clasped her hands together glaring at the thing as the clear form of an Mangekyo materialized in her eyes. This was not her village yet she was defending it with such a passion. She was sick of it. The death, the doom, the destruction. There was always something that seeked to destroy the livelihood that made up their way of life and if they wanted to, they would have to try a lot harder. It was still not the perfect form as this was her first time utilizing it but the Captain di d not care. She knew stopping this thing would take a hefty price to pay and she was more than willing to put this beast in its place. After all, if they didn't stop it here, who knew, after destroying Kumogakure, what if it continued on to the other Great Nations. Such a montrosity could not be allowed to live."Chidori Senbon!"She roared flicking her fingers forth watching as tiny needlike points of lightning flew in the general direction of the beast seeking to pierce it wherever they could find an opening. All Soku cared about right now was dishing out as much pain was humanly possible.

Danii’s sword sliced deep into the beast's thick hide as she landed. She used the sword the brace against the bucks of the dinosaur below her feet as she surveyed the situation around her. As the beast seemed to decide on a target, she used the temporary stillness to release her grip and begin a sequence of hand seals.
“Got it. Maybe Maik had the right idea staying on the wall!”
As she progresses through her seals, the sweat begins steam off of her and condense around the sword still stuck in the dinosaur’s head. As forms it pulls water more water from the air around it and grows dense falling along the blade and pooling above the wound below. As Danii makes the last few seals, the fog begins to change color, rapidly going from white to pink to red. As she finishes, the cloud settles into a deep crimson. She reaches out and pulls the sword out from the flesh and the mist seeps into the open wound before blood gushes out at an unnatural pace. Tendrils of bloody vapor steam out amongst the river of blood. She doesn't have long to admire her work as the beast king opens its maw. Danii slams the sword back into the flesh of the beast to maintain her footing as the ground beneath suddenly slopes away. Using the sword, she climbs up the dinosaurs head to get closer to Rei. A couple jumps, slamming to the sword deep each time she lands, and she reaches Rei. From atop the head, she could feel the heat from the beast’s supernova attack. Her gasp disappeared amongst the screams of the poor Akimichi.
Gritting her teeth, Danii sheathed her blade and quickly began more hand seals. She wasn't quite sure what she was expecting to accomplish, but she knew her slashes so far were nothing more than mosquito bites to a beast this size. Danii seemed to slip in the blood still gushing from her previous attack, but instead of falling she proved her intent by using it to slide down the back of the beast. Pulling water from the blood, her sweat, and the air around her, Danii formed a small rivulet around her that began to swirl around her like a drill. Danii slid towards the edge of the beast before grabbing ahold just at the edge and swinging back to slam to the water drill into the side of the beast as the drill expands to a nearly 15 foot typhoon of spiralling water.
Danii pulls herself back onto the edge of the back, hoping that her attack knocked him off balance or turned him away from the gate at the very least. But before she could even scope it out, she watched in horror as Reicheru fell towards Maikeru. She flinched as she watched helplessly as they impaled each other. She ran as quickly as she could up the beast's large back and neck trying to reach her friends as the light began fading from their eyes. She had almost reached them when she swore she heard them each saying something.
"The King demands a sacrifice!"
"Long live the King!"
Then the ground beneath her shifted as the Beast-king threw its head back in a roar that drowned out everything else. Fear filled Danii and that fear seemed to cause a reversion. The irony was not lost on her as her youthful clumsiness returned and she slipped in the blood running down the beast's back, blood that may very likely have been caused by her own attacks. Helpless, she began sliding back down the Beast-king’s back.
Grow up!
But…
Quit being worthless and do something or move out of the way and let me!
Her eyes seemed to grow an even darker shade of red as she pulls her sword off her back and slams it into the flesh below. Pulls it out, slams it again. Repeat once more and then… SLAM!
One long line, two shorter one scarred down the beast's back show the path Danii took to maneuver herself below her friends as the slid off the head of the beast and towards its back. As her friends’ unconscious bodies slammed into her, she lost grip of her sword and it took all she had to keep all three of them from sliding off the back and plummeting to what would surely be their demise. Panting, she layed on the beast's back. Sore, exhausted, drained. She had already given so much. She wasn't sure she had anymore. Kingslayer slid down and rested beside her. As it bumped against her, a voice cut through her mind.
If you have nothing left, then just take it.
Danii inscribed a seal on the beast below intending to siphon off a portion of the beast's life force for herself. With a shaky hand, Danii finished the seal and hoped it would take effect.

"What.. how.." were the only words Maikeru could mutter before every muscle in his body tensed up, his eyes forced to lock on to the horrific sight in front of him.
The imagery that was displayed in front of him was horrifying, watching as the dinosaurs family was slaughtered in front of his very eyes. His heart twinged for the beast, being able to relate to the pain and grief on a deep level. It wasn't long ago that Maikeru had lost his own mother, his brothers, his sister, piece by piece the shattered remains of his heart had been stolen from him by cruel acts of fate, and for the briefest of moments, Maikeru felt remorse for the actions he had taken against the beast.
But, as it tends to do, that remorse quickly turned to a white-hot rage that swelled the Will of Fire that burned deeply and powerfully inside of him. The Will of Fire was an abstract concept, and one foreign to these lands. Inside of every native-born leaf Shinobi was an unbreakable will, a driving force that compelled them to protect every member of their home like family. It was said that there were those among the leaf whose fire burned hotter than any before them and that those were destined to become Hokage. Well, if that prophecy held any weight, then the coronation of Maikeru should have already been planned.
The blue gem like substance inside of his arm burnt bright as he felt the weight of a sword in his hand, as his muscle tightened and drew back, the force of his blade meeting flesh and cutting through it like paper coursed through him. Tears welled in his eyes, even the power of Tsukuyomi unable to hold back the grief and pain that coursed through the Uchiha at this moment.
As his view shifted, seeing the face of Reicheru, his beloved, blood dripping from the corner of her mouth, he wanted nothing more than to scream. He wanted to curse, and cuss, and tear the King apart piece by piece. He wanted nothing more than to savor every sweet second of his death, remembering his cries for mercy until Maikeru's dying breath took him many years later.
Even as he looked upon Reicheru, the tears running down his cheek, he was tormented by his past. The faces of Riku, and Katsu, and Ryujou formed over her own, each of their mangled and twisted forms appearing behind her in a cruel joke of his own volition. He felt the searing sensation as the mark of the beast burnt itself into his left forearm, another mark ruining the skin of the Uchiha boy.
With every fiber of muscle in his body, with every ounce of power that his trained body held inside of it, he moved his eyes the tiniest amount, allowing his Mangekyo Sharingan to make contact with the beast eyes. His bloodline ability, the Sharingan, reflected every ounce of anguish inside of him, but it was more than that. They were the eyes of someone who had seen things like these before, the eyes of someone who had experienced loss and sadness, not unlike the King had accused humanity of. These were the eyes of a survivor.
In his mind, a single thought echoed over and over for the King to read at his pleasure. He was going to kill him. He was going to get revenge.
Even as darkness overtook him, as his Tsukuyomi faded with his body no longer able to support the jutsu, even as he took what he percieved his last breath, there was one thing he wanted. Slowly, so slowly, as the Tsukuyomi realm faded and the sensation of warthm against his chest from where the blade protruded, from where his internal organs had been cut into shreds from the twisting of Reicheru's blade, he reached out. The smallest of smiles, the only movement he could force out of his cold, near lifeless face, come onto his face as he felt Reicheru's fingers against his. With all of the strength left in him, he squeezed, holding onto her as his vision faded, and the life slowly began to slip from him.
[Maikeru knocked unconscious, Mark of the Monster burned into his left forearm.]
Kagetsu Yuii sluggishly fed two hundred yen into the small vending machine occupying the end of the small palliative care ward of Kumogakure’s Aesculapium then punched in a three number code by memory. She listened to the machine hum as it fetched her canned coffee, sleep shadowed gaze focused on the fist-sized dent that marred it’s cheerfully painted casing depicting a smiling, navy haired celebrity sipping from a can of decaf. There had been some effort to fix the idol’s concave face, but all it had managed was to soften the illusion that he was a rubber doll with its face pressed in.
Hard to blame whoever had done it, she thought, bending to retrieve her drink as it rumbled into the dispenser, ‘thats just poor taste’. His vapid smile in this place of waiting and mourning offended her. Given the chance, she could break his neck like-
‘CRACK.’
The coffee can in her hand popped open as she thumbed open its pull-tab and steam poured from its open mouth.
Yeah. Like that.
Grimacing, she juggled the hot can between her hands while pulling the sleeves of her thick, grey and already coffee stained sweater over her hands. Yuii took a sip, sans stupid smile, then turned to return to wander back to her daughter’s room.
All was quiet on this floor hospital, though this seemed to be the norm that Yuii gleaned during her brief trips to buy coffee. Despite rooms being in high demand in the Aesculapium, this particular ward seemed to empty faster than it filled. Its focus was the comfort of its occupants who were beyond the hopes of healing, after all, and there were few conditions beyond the skills of Kumogakure’s Medical Shinobi. Few lives beyond saving in some way. Like her daughter Umeko’s.
The thought brought a scowl to Yuii’s face that could peel paint.
The reality of her daughter's condition was a difficult thing to stomach, and though it might not seem so to the many nurses and doctors that avoided her and her temper, Yuii had long accepted it. Umeko was dying from the moment she became victim to the powdered, refined, weaponized dimeritium that had been hidden amongst gifts and meant to poison Yuii. From then, she had endured being burned and irradiated from the inside by the cursed metal, which absorbed any available chakra and converted it into the painful energies. There could be no relief for her, she would boil internally if any mednin dared to even touch her they said. Modern medicine had no way to remove Dimeritium from her body they said. Sixteen months they said. Her brave girl had managed two.
Acceptance didn’t mean she had to like it. That she would smile and nod when they reminded her that Umeko had days left. She didn’t have to be gracious or kind when they tried to insist she go home for a night, or leave for a meal. Because when Umeko was gone Yuii would live being guilty of outliving her child, not them.
It would be some hours yet before the Mednin made their rounds, Yuii realized, glancing at the plain clock at the far end of the hall, and the nurses knew better than to try talking with her. A few hours of peace at least until they were back to harp at her.
Except all was not quiet as Yuii approached the final corner to the door of Umeko’s room. A voice, clear and oddly familiar in its tone carried in the empty hallways. Yuii stopped short, her heart in her throat.
“...die unless we help her and I can’t have that on my conscious.” the voice belonged to a woman.
A second, shrill and panicked but otherwise identical voice followed. “That little girl is nothing to me. I owe her absolutely nothing and I owe you even less in terms of an explanation. I’m leaving.”
A thousand scenarios raced through Yuii’s mind, fed by panic, adrenaline and cold anger. There was only one ‘girl’ on this floor, her daughter, and it was reasonable to assume they weren’t just using the empty observation room that led into Umeko’s room to talk about somebody else. A million scenarios that could lend context to the conversation the women were having flitted through Yuii’s mind. Foremost was that the people responsible for Umeko’s condition had never been caught. Could it be that one had returned in a fit of conscience? Could they save her? Were they refusing!? She couldn’t let them leave!
“You’re not going anywhere,” Yuii lip curled into a vicious snarl, her palm slamming against the door frame as she moved to block the exit. Wildly she searched past them and through the observation window beyond that peered into Umeko’s room to assure her safety. Then she met the intruder’s eyes.
Two women, one in late-stage pregnancy with impossibly long hair and the other wild and winged stared back at her, one equally surprised while the other was unphased. Both had her blue hair and sapphire eyes. With a jolt, she realized they even had the same face; her face. The scene was beyond her imagination, beyond comprehension. A princess and a monster; both her.
“How…”
**Yuii.exe has stopped working.
…
This was it, she had gone insane from grief.
....
Yuii joined her long-haired twin in open-mouthed surprise as the wild one continued to speak as if this situation was normal, even expected! Debating and arguing points that implied the impossible and agitated the princess. And when their eyes met again, the long-haired woman silently pleading for Yuii to understand, she did. Yuii understood how exactly she felt. All she had ever wanted was for her child to live and be safe. Which was why she couldn’t let her go.
She would sacrifice anyone for Umeko.
The wild one said the princess could save her.
“Sit your whale sized pregnant ass down and stop picking fights you can’t win!” Yuii shouted back, shifting her stance to make it as clear as if she had drawn a weapon that there would be a fight if the princess tried to leave. “She said you could save my daughter. You’re not leaving until you do!” The air crackled with tension as Muii raised her weapon to attack.
“That won’t be necessary. I understand that you’re confused but I also know that deep down you do remember. You remember when you were not Muii just as much as I remember when I was not Ruii,” the third interjected.
And once again, Yuii and the princess- Muii, turned to gape at the wild twin- Ruii.
“You. Who...no, what the hell are you and what the fuck are you talking about? I'm on my twelfth cup of coffee so use small words.”
~----------- And so she did.
It all began with a doctor, a monster and a dying child.
And at the end, where there was one there was three.
A story shared in a quiet place -----------~
As Ruii finished, far off, an alarm began to sound outside the hospital, first one far off than many howling back in response until the air seemed to vibrate. That was the state of emergency alarm. Someone was attacking Kumogakure. All three ignored it.
“Iesada Renzo was Insane,” Yuii argued without cause as Ruii fell silent. She and Muii had taken turns silently shaking their head’s in disbelief as their monstrous twin outlined what they were, and how they had come to be. Neither wanted to believe, but they knew it was the truth. Somehow they could feel it.
“Iesada Renzo is a mad old doctor who ran off when no one would take his research seriously.” Yuii repeated as if saying so mattered, “His theories were based on pure fantasy and….and.”
Yuii had formed an independent research team to hunt for solution’s to save Umeko. They had combed through the studies of every mednin of Kumogakure as far back as the founding of the village. Iesada Renzo’s name stood out to her because his research had actually sounded promising on paper. He had written of a cure-all that would reset and refresh a human body in a way that would expel anything unnatural. Her team had been excited to pursue it until they realized that its foundation was based on the existence of core components which did not exist. It had been fiction.
And yet, here they were. Why was she arguing?
“Raiden's tit's, this is insane.” Yuii muttered, running her hand through her blue hair. The image of Umeko smashing together two pots of red and blue coloured clay together then stamping out dough men swam to mind. One pot had enough for one, but two had just enough for three. More red for Ruii, a balance for Yuii and Blue for Muii. Could that even be done with people?
Yuii turned to gaze through the observation window at Umeko’s sleeping form.
Even if she believed it, what did it have to do with saving Umeko?
As if she could read Yuii’s mind, Muii echoed her thought, painfully pointing out that Yuii had failed.
‘Ruii probably doesn’t know either,’ Yuii thought sardonically as the monster dodged Muii’s question ‘It’s probably a ruse for…’ Her brow furrowed. A ruse for what? What Muii was here for was clear but what did Ruii want?
Wait. She was missing something important. Something Ruii had said.
“Her husband?” Yuii gasped, “Do you mean those alarms are because of her?” Yuii spoke over them, hand twitching towards the headset buried in her pocket, “Shit, why didn’t you say something. We need to tell Ayu-!”
Suddenly Muii doubled over in pain and screamed. Yuii reacted in time with Ruii and ran to her side. She too recoiled as all too familiar ruins lept from the pregnant woman’s skin. The same mark had been put on her husband.
“Those are...Jashinist!,” she screamed to Ruii, outraged. “They’ve linked to her! If they’re hurt, she’s hurt. If they die-” Ruii could fill in the blank as Yuii dashed across the room and slammed her fist against a large black button. Another alarm began to ring, this one aching as it sounded off un the nearby halls. A call for a mednin that was drowned out by the sirens outside. “Find whoever had done this! I’ll keep her safe.”
Remembering the pain Ruii had suffered when she touched Muii, Yuii moved through successive hand seals then drew in enough chakra to release delayed agony on herself. That gave Yuii enough time to scoop twin up from the floor and dash through the door to Umeko’s bedside.
“Shit, shit, shit, shit.” she chanted while carefully placing the suffering Muii down so that she was resting beside Umeko’s bed. Then, Yuii screamed through her clenched teeth as all the pain of the last few seconds hit. Luckily, Umeko’s sleep was not at all natural.
“J-just breath okay.” she stuttered, catching her own breath, “In. Out. Lots of air. Think of something nice, like, oh fuck, I don’t know! Icecream! Cake! Citrus! The damned sea breeze! How good it will feel to hold your own baby?” Her frown deepened “Her kiss goodnight- do you remember it too? My oldest memory-”
“Gods, not again. You can’t die. We just met! Ruii said you could save Umeko!”

Round Note(s):
1) The chakra values for Gaia's Vengeance were a rough estimate because there was no way for me to see non Kumo profiles and some people didn't apply such things as increased or lowered chakra cost.
2) Everyone was given a base 150 weapon damage regardless of true rank.
5) Anybody who did a rogue AoE and didn't declare all targets, automatically targeted the shadow as well.
4) If you had an extra effect listed in your actions but don't see it in the damage calcs then assume that it outright failed to activate or otherwise didn't matter (such as dodge bonuses for those that wouldn't ever be hit)
5) Defend title is based on how much damage defended (barrier, arena, etc) and dodged.
6) Heal title is based on how much is healed when applied to the 10 NPCs and the 22 PCs in the topic. In the case of the Solo award, it's simply based on how much you directly heal yourself.
7) There were a lot of numbers crunched and I didn't know secondaries so many things as you can probably tell, were based on a capped person if I simply had no way of knowing (namely secondaries for the defend option). That being said, if you see a glaring issue, please let me know. While the next RP portion is incoming, use this time to set up your next rounds actions (do me a solid and reference any buffs, etc in those round 2 actions).
~Special thanks to Maikeru and Rei for helping with the mod and Nozomi for doing the flag! I couldn't have done it without these folks.

"Castling is a move in the game of chess involving a player's king and either of the player's original rooks. It is the only move in chess in which a player moves two pieces in the same move, and it is the only move aside from the knight's move where a piece can be said to "jump over" another."
Roaring, Maji thrashed from side to side as he tore through the various shinobi forces that dared to stop him. These humans were foolish to believe that they could ever stop him! Letting loose another blast of flames, he smirked with a devilsih grin as he continued to march. Just a few more steps and he'd be able to save Muii. She was just beyond these soon to be demolished gates, just beyond his . . . grasp.
He felt it more than he heard it, and in a moment he was there with her as the agony of a pain that she could barely fathom began to rip through her. They were linked, and when she hurt, he hurt, even if he were many leagues away. Crying out, his anguished cries seemed to match her own as he stopped his march towards the gates and tried to figure out what was happening. That was when a sharp ripple of pain caused him to stumble and he began to grow wobbly on his feet. Willing himself to continue standing he called out to her, and though faint, he felt her presence and heard her cry. Something was wrong, something had gone terribly wrong, and if he didn't get to her in time, then they would lose the twins!
The people of Kumogakure were strong, they were formidable, they would defend their very own to the bitter end. He wasn't any different. He loved her, he really did. She was his world, the totality of his existence and the only hope that he could hold on to as he found himself clinging to life by the barest of fragments. She was beyond those walls, the reason for everything that he'd ever tried to accomplish. His father had ruled a vast kingdom, his mother had kept it stable and here it was coming to a crashing end because they had dared to defy their very first order out of petty anger that she would want to leave him, even for a while.
Never get involved with humans.
Yet here he was, the King of many Kingdoms, the would-be uniter of all of their Kingdoms, the future builder of the New River Court Kingdom, outpowered by the humans. It wasn't supposed to be this way. He was the King. He'd had his greatest weapon with him, the "dark one" which has once been capable toppling whole armies. He couldn't have known that there were other forces at work, that there were forces at play that even the shinobi weren't aware of. All that he knew was that Muii and his children were soon to pay the price of his weakness. He had failed them.
With a sense that he could hardly begin to explain and by means of a power that he had never quite understood, he found himself thinking about the sacrifices that his mother and father had made many years ago. The first and greatest mistake they had made in exchange for the gift of continued strength and stability in their kingdom. They had done it for him so that he could be all that he was.
The Rite of Resonance. The pact which had created his wife.
With a dazzling light, he felt his body begin to burn away. His paused attack had left him open to one from the humans below and they'd taken the opening for the gift that it was. Regal, even in death, they cared not for his title as he at first tried to power through the burn but found that it was able to pierce even his formally thought impenetrable hide. He was dying as she was dying.
It was said that "A child when left on their own will shame their parents" and instead of becoming the better part of his own, Maji became the very thing that they feared, a monster. No matter how much he deflected onto the fact that he was orphaned at a young age, no matter how much he tried to shower Muii with lavish gifts in exchange for love, no matter how much of the known world he conquered, he'd always be that scared little boy standing in front of the pyre blaming the world for all of his woes. At first, he'd only ever entertained Muii by being in her company. He would never taint his family bloodline by marrying her, but something in her changed him. Somehow she won him over with her charm and her grace and from there, they fell in love. Did his mother somehow always know? Did she believe that an angry little boy could have his face softened by becoming friends with his mortal enemy? Did she know the gift of bringing Muii into his life would lead to this?
He would simply never know. Even while dying he couldn't collect his thoughts together. Muii had only wanted to return to a home that she'd never known, and in his anger, he'd returned her curiosity with hurt feelings and anger. The whole of this attack was one massive temper tantrum and for it, his children would be just as ashamed as his own parents no doubt would be if they were with him. They didn't deserve this though, they ought to be able to make their own way, to forge their own path and create their own destiny. Muii was dying because he'd pushed her away and hopefully in the world beyond she could forgive him. For now, like any father, he'd do his utmost to protect them from his own mistakes. Though he'd never learned the technique formally, somehow he just knew. At that moment before everything was wiped away because of his hubris, he closed his eyes and called out to them. Hopefully, they would answer.
"In chess, a queen sacrifice is a move giving up a queen in return for tactical, positional, or other compensation."
Love. That was the first thing that she thought about when the sharp pain forced her to double over. In fact, that's all that she could possibly think of. Racking her brain for any explanation as to why she was feeling this way, was futile. Without having to know, she somehow knew. Maji had been right. She should have never trusted the humans, she should have never left the comfort and care of the world that her husband had built for her. She was stupid, she was selfish, she was . . . human. After love, that was the only word that she could come up with because only a human would be feeling this weak. Was this why Maji didn't want her to leave his side, was it because of the frailty of her inherent flaws.
Feeling another rack of pain coursed through her body, she knew that these weren't birth pains and then Yuii, this woman who she was now learning to be her "sister" was saying something about Jashinist . . . something about . . .
Looking down at the strange symbols that seemed to dance around her, she started to feel like she was choking on her own tongue but knew that her tongue wasn't actually stuck. Was this the power of these Jashinist? Could they kill from afar? Could they force a Kindred Spirit link onto her without her allowing it? "Why?" The question was more asked out into the air more so than at Yuii, but even with it, the question was very much a question towards humanity itself. Why would they do this to her? "Why?" Even from beyond the gates, Maji responded to her through their link. He knew that something was wrong. Like any good mother, Muii didn't have to be told to protect her children. She would do that even if her own life was now forfeit. As sparks of red chakra began to crackle and glow on her body, Muii heard Maji's final request and nodded her head in agreement.
The Rite of Resonance.
Though she often felt more like a pawn on a game board, moved by the whims of hands that were not her own, Muii was a Queen. Clutching at her belly, she took a deep breath and blinked out from between the incoming grasp of Ruii, in order to appear behind the glass that separated her from Umeko. Though this child was not her own, if Yuii was as instinctively protective as she was then Muii felt right in making the only sacrifice that was left to make. There was to be no happy ending for her and Maji in this game of chess, they'd lost, but they could at least do their best to insure victory for those that played after them. Putting a hand on the cheek of the small sick girl that lay before her, Muii shook her head and sighed as she began to glow from the inside out. Manifesting as a blue aura despite the red energy threatening to close in on her and strangle her, she looked to Yuii then Ruii and shook her head. Yuii would especially understand her last request. "Please!"
Rushing to the glass, Ruii slammed her fist on it before running out of the room separating them as it began to fill with light. Smirking, Muii knew that the woman wouldn't be quick enough to stop her and Maji from finishing the rite of resonance. In a way, it was almost poetic, the very thing that gave her life would be used to give someone else life. Beginning to lose consciousness, she could only hope that she and Maji would be strong enough to finish it before the Jashinist seal caused her to draw her last breath. With a renewed understanding she wouldn't shed any tears, she'd only speak words that she hoped were remembered. Much like the sacrifice that had brought her here, history wouldn't remember her kindly, but her children would go on in her place, hopefully doing better things with a much clearer understanding of the way that the world worked. Hopefully, they would know the truth. Hopefully, they would know peace. Hopefully, they would know love. Continuing to speak until her last breath, her words were sounded down into young minds too new to understand, and then her body exploded into a million little stars of light.
Kindred Spirit(s):A rite among "monsters" where one or both parties links their lifeforce to that of another. Typically seen among family groups and those which are considered mates-for-life. When one partner of the Kindred Spirit union dies, it is said that the death of the other will soon come after. Even those that continue to live on are said to be mere shells of who and what they used to be.
It wasn't supposed to be this way, their plan was absolute, their cause was just, their power was secure. So how did they lose? It didn't know, all that it knew was that there was a bright light and then pain where there was once none. To a symbiotic creature, the death of its host was one that was not soon forgotten. Unfortunately for them all, this symbiotic creature was like none before it. Moving too and fro, more dancing than anything, the shinobi known as Musashi had managed to place barriers on all those attempting to stop the King.
The creature knew this to be ultimately futile but what it didn't expect was for the shinobi to not only share but take as well. Despite its best advice, the King allowed "feelings" for his wife to stop him from delivering the killing blow to the two shinobi that had dared to directly confront them. There, below his feet were the male and female, impaled on each others blades and ready for the killing blow. All that he had to do was raise his foot to allow it to fall, he might even get that other pesky sword wielding female human as well.
But he couldn't, and the formless creature didn't want to believe but had to consider that the King had grown soft. There were some things that the King chose to keep from him, his loyal subject. Why, he did not know, but it was clear that the King had chosen to give up such pursuits as winning this battle and continuing their conquest. Words couldn't describe the betrayal that the creature felt and with that betrayal, it bailed.
Separating itself from the King, the symbiotic slime seemed to do so at just the right time as the King took the full force of a killing blow delivered by those humans that he'd up until recently wanted to kill. Landing on the ground within the chaos of the killing blow, the creature looked on in horror as the King began to glow as if he was attempting to absorb the chakra before a large wave of chakra exploded outward from him. Almost as if the life was sapped out of him, the King stumbled once, then twice, as all color drained from the large lizard body.
By now, even Inuzuka Shizue had stopped her genjutsu assault as she stood on the edge of the battlefield. While all eyes were on the surreal sight of the King's body rapidly aging before their eyes, the dark mass crawled among the fallen bodies until it managed to slip up and into Shizue's waiting grasp. Shaking her head, she continued to look on in horror as the King's body finally stopped stumbling and fell maw first into the ground, crumbling into a pile of dusty bones that seemingly flew in every direction. Shaking her head, Inuzuka Shizue began to wipe away tears that had formed as she witnessed one of her oldest and most dear friends pointlessly give up his life.
She didn't know much about his world but she was sure that wasn't a normal death by any means. As she turned to walk away, the symbiote while seemingly still upset with the King for falling short of the goals of his kingdom, did mourn in its own way. As if gathering the whole of the former King's Kingdom in one place, black clouds began to rain black tears onto those present at the gates. There would be mourning for the King, but when the time for mourning was done, there would be nothing but war, and this time the one leading the charge wouldn't feel such human emotions like pity or pain for those that needed to be slaughtered. Willing his new host to melt away into the darkness, the only one with a remote clue of their slinking away might be the ever watchful Hyuuga among them.
OOC #1: Part of the [Monster's Jawbone] practically fell on Daenerisu. Permission to do with it as they may.
OOC #2: Hyuuga Hon given a RP clue as to the fact that Inuzuka Shizue was on the battlefield as well as the fact that the symbiotic slime that was fused with Maji was not destroyed. What sort of hunter-nin missions or the like that he chooses to go on or pursue are up to him and whoever he tells.

Umeko had been sick for a long time, so long in fact that her little mind could barely grasp life before it. So sick was she that she was hardly aware of the war raging just beyond her hospital room door. Fighting through a fever, when Muii teleported into the room and lay a cool and calming hand on her, the little girl sighed and found that it was suddenly much easier to fall into a deep sleep. In that moment she was transported from a hospital bed to that of the biggest playroom that she'd ever seen. There, surrounded by all of the best toys were her friends, the twins.
Smiling, she waved to the girl and then ran over to her and hugged her tightly. She loved the twins and they loved her. Nothing else mattered in her small little world. As the hours of playing seemed to stretch on, she'd soon enjoy the best lunch with the rest of their friends and especially mama Muii and papa Maji! Though she couldn't quite put her finger on it, the two that she knew to be her parents didn't really seem like they fit but she went along with it anyway. After lunch it was back to playing only this time they were joined by the floofiest of floofs! Embracing the dog, she was greeted by a slobbery attack of well placed licks.
When night drew closer, off they were to bed but not before mama Muii and papa Maji read them a bedtime story. It was the same as every night that she could remember but it was about a brave little Prince that learned a valuable lesson about friendship and became the best King that the land had ever known. Giggling to herself, Umeko really thought that the story was about papa Maji but he would never admit it. Soon the story was over though and as the candles were blown out in her very big room, she stared out of her window and up at the night sky above.
Yawning, she'd fall asleep while wishing on a falling star. Nothing would ever be greater than this day! As she dreamed within the dream, she'd rapidly age as the world around her moved on auto pilot. From playing all day to attending a boarding school, to growing up, dating boys and getting married, Umeko's life proved to be very fruitful and rewarding. Everything was always awesome and she proved to be just the sort of person that mama Muii and papa Maji wanted her to be, namely, a good person, someone that was both fair and kind. Looking back on her life, all was good, and at a ripe old age, Umeko could look back and see that all was good.
<B>"Mama . . . it hurts!"
The snap back to reality was cold and swift. Waking up with a start, Umeko looked on at her body as it started to transform and change against her will. Hearing someone speaking, she looked over at a woman who was just beginning to glow a bright color. The girl looked on at a woman that looked very much like her mother, but wasn't quite it. Wait, was it mama Muii? Whoever it was, it was to her that she uttered the words and reached out to try and embrace the woman but found that instead of small hands, she now had hairy paws, much like the "floof" in her dreams.
Startling herself, she looked on as the woman that she only seemed to know from a dream continued to glow and soon the little girls body was melting away, no longer rough and grotesque as she again became a little girl once more. Instead of stopping at what she had been however, her body continued to change as her skin grew a rough scaly green color before her feet became feather covered talons. As her body began to grow and change, it was only her whimpering that caused Muii to place another reassuring hand on her cheek before the girl stopped growing and changing and went back to being that what she was before.
Why was mama Muii doing this . . . why did she seem so sad? Why could she remember the words that the woman seemed to be saying despite no words coming out? Thinking that this was all a dream, Umeko started to feel sleepy again. The light coming from mama Muii was so warm and inviting, it would have been a shame to keep awake when she'd been so cold for so long. As her eyes started to flutter and finally close, she might have thought that she saw papa Maji, but it could have been just another figment of her young imaginative mind.
By the time Ruii rushed into the room and Yuii just barely ahead of her, Muii was physically no more and beside the now peacefully sleeping Umeko lay two strangely colored large human baby sized eggs. Most peculiar of all however was the fact that Umeko despite all of the other changes that she had just experienced, now seemed to have furry kitten like ears and a whipping tail where she had none before. Try as they might, there would be no finding Muii, and much like Maji, her body had seemingly disappeared in a flashing sea of light. Whatever had happened, Umeko no longer seemed to be sick, but now there were a whole other host of problems to deal with. Namely, the two eggs that seemed to be moving and shaking as if something was about to break free into the world.
OOC #1: Umeko is now a cat girl and cured! The process was pre-approved by Yuii.

OOC #2: Maji and Muii's twin children are left in the care of Yuii and Ruii. Yuii is to raise the boy and Ruii, the girl.
"And they say that Hajime is still sleeping at the gates down to this very day!"Staring blankly at him, the boy spoke up first as he normally did. "You're pulling our legs!" Smirking, Musashi chuckled and shook his head. "Ok, it seems that old gramps can't pull anything over on you. The sand man eventually woke him up. Something about pocket sand having this instant wake up property, although the irony wasn't lost on anybody.""And Yamaru-sama?" Giving a bit of a halfhearted "meh" shrug, Musashi continued. "Well, he did but he wasn't quite the same after that. I never thought that the Gaia's Vengeance technique would pack such a punch and when he passed out from chakra exhaustion after nearly Omni-Flashing himself to death, I just had to scoop him up and when I did, I was giving off so much Natural Energy that it turned him into a kappa against his will. It took us three months to turn him back human but by then, he was a Sage Mode pro!" Looking down at her own hands, the little girl seemed to try to figure out just how that would work. Noticing it, Musashi moved from his chair and tried to better explain it to her.
"It doesn't quite work like that baby girl!" Laughing he grabbed her little hands and put her palms together. "Alright, so you put your palms together, start adding chakra into the closed space and then slowly open your palms while yelling Kamehameha! You'll be turning people into turtles in no time!" Demonstrating the act itself, Musashi looked every bit the grown child as he stood in the middle of the room and simulated throwing a destructive chakra wave at an imaginary monster. Giggling, the girl continued to try and use the technique, aiming her imaginary chakra blast at her brother who only shook his head seemingly annoyed that the story was interrupted. "So you managed to get all of these shinobi from all over the world in one place to defeat a powerful monster, and then what? Did they just go home afterwards? It almost seems like an event too good to be true." Focused, the boy continued to try to get to the bottom of the story that Musashi had invested in for the past hour. He was really shaping up to be quite the keen eyes.
"Well, you aren't wrong, it was pretty unbelievable. It took us exhausting every Santaru's efforts, even the visiting Konoha one before we figured out that the black rain wasn't going to stop. It took three long days before it finally went away." Going back to sit in his chair he folded his arms and leaned back as he nodded his head in thought. "It was an event like no other, one that I won't ever forget. It isn't everyday that you've got pyromaniacs and water adepts fighting for a common cause. Heck, there was a Chigokai guy there too who seemed a little too down when the blood letting stopped." Shaking his head behind a wide grin. Though he was telling the children this tale as a bed time story, the fact of the matter was that they probably wouldn't have made it if it hadn't been for the efforts of all involved that day. Ones like the ever vigilant Kunoichi dubbed the Lightning Sniper, or the efforts of the caffeine fiend Shadow Lord himself. So many tales, such little time.
Though they were born long after the fact, that event kicked off the initiation of the Kaibutsu Division and indeed the set of battles and skirmishes that were simply known as the "Monster Wars" to most. Years and decades were spent attempting to fix the power vacuum that was left in the wake of the death of the King and Queen. It wasn't even long after then that they finally figured out that there were more than just one or two types of monsters but that there were many kingdoms and nations unknown to them before that time. Now though, humans and monsters lived in relative peace, and the wars of the centuries beforehand were tales to be read in books about the days before the modern acceptance of what was different. Heck, it took years before it was revealed that Kagetsu Yuii's son wasn't actually just an adopted orphan but part monster himself. Yeah, that hadn't been a pretty reveal but she'd handled it with the grace of a woman who had a forward thinking mind.
"Inu Baretto and Inu Natsumi . . . what is the meaning of this? Umashiashikabihikoji . . . are you keeping them up with old man stories?" Freezing in their respective tracks, Musashi slowly turned around and grinned at his ever beautiful wife who'd poked her head in the room. He knew that she was especially pissed when she took the time to pronounce his entire Leaf name instead of his fake Cloud one. "Babe, I can explain!" Nervously laughing, Musashi quickly got to his feet and made on as if he were tucking the children in for the night. Quickly acting as if they were already in the act of being put to sleep, Musashi tucked Natsumi in and kissed her on the forehead, "I love you Jiji!" she whispered, before he whispered back, "I love you too my little summer rose." and then he moved to tuck Baretto in as well.
Just two of many of their descendent's, Baretto and Natsumi were from the line that had intertwined with Uchiha Takeshi's (much to Yomi's chagrin, especially when said great grandchild ended up being trained by the ever elusive Uchiha Kotori) and the Kogami and Kagetsu lines (much to Musashi's win) on their mothers side. Their father, the brave man that was soon to move his family to the Wind Country was from the Earth Country proper and carried the family line of an old friend of Musashi's who had passed long long ago. Whispering to Baretto, Musashi tucked in the young green eyed boy who was soon to leave the only home he'd ever known. "Stay brave my son. Never give in to fear of the unknown.""Jiji, I'll make you proud!" Six generations later and his children's children continued to make him proud. He merely hoped that that would never change.
Nodding, Musashi kissed him on the forehead as well as he slowly got up whispered one last salutation for the evening. "Good night and sleep well my children." Nodding, he turned the light off in the room and closed the door behind him as he waited until it was shut tightly before sighing. Holding back a wall of emotions, he realized that he should have been used to seeing his children, grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren leaving but it was never easy. It was especially difficult in this situation due to the sheer distance apart that they'd be. A big softie, he wanted them to stay his little minions forever and grow up in his care but he knew that they'd never grow to be their own people if he coddled them close. Allowing him the moment, Yomi just stood in silence before shaking her head and beckoning him in for a big hug. Musashi didn't want them to leave beyond the realm of his protection.
Having long drawn away from the shinobi world, the two were relics of a time long past, of an era long gone by. "Is it bad that I want them to stay?" Shaking her head, Yomi replied back with the wisdom of a realist. "You have to say goodbye sometime, besides, they've that Uchiha gene in them so . . . I'm pretty sure that they'll be fine. After all, it's a desert not a penal colony! You're just being a big baby." Pulling back to look at her, Musashi shook his head and kissed the woman square on the lips. He loved her sassy side, even after having to deal with it for nearly two hundred years. It was simply a matter of fact that with her being nigh immortal and him being exceptionally long lived, that they'd see their progeny come and go. Sighing, Musashi finally let go and shrugged his shoulders.
Holding his hand out for Yomi to take it, he smiled and playfully pulled her along. "Welp, I guess it's time for this old couple to go to bed too!" Smirking, Yomi slapped his hand. "Who're you calling old?!?" Shaking his head and playfully upping the anti, Musashi feigned doubling back towards the children's room. "But wait, I didn't even get to tell them about those Tenozo . . .Tenzo . . . Tenouzan-whatchamacallit fanatics, we had to deal with their crap for years too! Flippin' opportunist!" Closing her eyes and stopping him in his tracks she audibly sighed and shook her head. "It's bedtime, they're in bed and we're going to bed!" Protesting he playfully stomped his foot on the ground in protest. "But what if I want to tell stories forever? There's still so many stories to tell about the adventures that we had!" Holding a finger to his lips to silence him, Yomi squeezed his hand tightly and gave him another kiss. "I know, my love. Believe me, I know." Sighing and taking a deep breath, Musashi finally hung his head in defeat. "You still have tomorrow . . ." Wanting to agree with her but knowing that tomorrow just simply wouldn't have enough hours in the day, Musashi nodded in agreement."Okay . . . I guess that I'll just have to make the most of it. Let's go to bed.""Yes, let's." With that being said, though he still had reservations, Musashi went off to bed wishing that he had more time but knowing that he'd done his very best with what time he'd had.
OOC #1: The entirety of this event series started because of a joke on Discord about Yuii being a doppelganger when we were discussing how to create a new MB Sub-branch. Special thanks to Yuii for playing along with it and helping to make the event a success!
OOC #2: Special thanks to Uchiha Maikeru and Saitou Reicheru for help with modding the event and especially bailing me out as things go close to crunch time. This event couldn't have ran smoothly without them!
OOC #3: Yamaru (Maru) given Turtle Sage Mode via ArchsageDiscipleship. This is my second after Yuii. Maru will have to RP how we ultimately got him out of the forced Sage Mode. I'll pay the 200asp in my next training.

No matter how long he lived in the cloud village, he doubted he would ever get used to the drastic changes in weather that permeated this country. From the first snowfall that he had encountered when visiting as just a boy, to the hot, brisk summer of his advanced age, Lightning country really was something to behold. But, he was not here to admire the weather, despite how beautiful and sunny it was. No, his trip had a special meaning, one he hadn’t even known about until earlier that week.
His white hair longer and tied into a pony tail in the back, his cerulean eyes no longer holding the youthful shine they once did, Maikeru really was an old man by most considerations. He ran a hand through the beard he had tried so many years to grow, now a tired morning chore to maintain, as he thought about the time he had spent in this great country, and the road that had lead him here, and all the people who had helped him along the way.
As he walked through the grass, each footprint he made leaving behind a permanent reminder of his passing, he became lost in his own thoughts. How could something like this have escaped him for so long? A bouquet of white roses cradled in his hands, he stopped in front of a small stone monument.
“So, you were here the whole time, Lord Umashi?” He questioned, kneeling before the slab of stone. “Hard to believe I spent my whole life believing you just vanished when Takeshi took power, when really, you were miles away from me. Maybe that’s why I always felt safe inside the village walls, I had you to protect me.”
Smiling widely, serenely, every wrinkle on his face and battle earned scar and blemish moving with it, he sat with that thought for a moment. Placing the roses down, he moved to sit in a lotus position, wishing to have one final chat with the old man.
“You know, we never met. Not formally at least. I’m pretty sure you saw my name on more than a few incident reports. I was.. A handful wasn’t I? Although we never met, Lord Umashi, you’ll never know how important you were to me.” As he spoke, a single tear began to form at the edge of his left eye, before his right mirrored the action. “I idolized you as a child, I strived to follow your ideals of what a Hokage should be. Of what a man should be, really. I’ve waited many years to say this to you, you sneaky old bastard. Thank you for making me who I am today.”
Laughing between the small sobs that racked his chest, he moved to wipe his eyes with a single finger, shaking his head in disbelief.
“Look at me, crying like a child who just found out there would be no dessert. Speaking of, I met yours. Raiden’s blessing old man, I always thought you left the village because of Takeshi. Now I know it was because there was no time to be Hokage with Lady Yomi around. You could have used protection like.. One time.”
From behind him, he heard footsteps approaching, small and gentle on the fresh cut grass. Following them he heard an excited shout, before he felt the weight of a small body that had latched itself onto his back.
“Daddy! Daddy!” A small, feminine voice called into his ear, causing the old Uchiha to smile even wider, turning his face to hide the tears. “Daddy, Mommy says everyone is waiting on you. She said you were being sssssentimemal.”
“I think she meant sentimental dear.” He said back to his child, reaching a hand up to gently pat her head. “I was talking to an old teacher, but I’m almost done here. I assume mother came with you?”
“Of course I did.” The voice of Reicheru rang out a few feet behind him, always the stealthier of the two of them. “I wasn’t going to miss a chance to see the great Uchiha Maikeru in tears.”
Even as she jested at him, she rested a hand upon his shoulder, kneeling down to be at face level with him.
“Are you going to be okay though, seriously? I know how much he meant to you. I know how much you wanted to.. well, speak to him..”
“Yea, I’ll be fine.” He responded. “I’m almost done here, I’ll catch up with you in a minute.”
Smiling at her husband, Reicheru simply nodded, understanding exactly what he needed to do as she scooped up their child. Letting them get a bit of distance, Maikeru put his hands together in a silent prayer, before rising to his own feet.
“I’ll protect them for you, as will this entire village. I’ll ensure the will of fire burns brightly in them like it did us. The real will of fire.”
Turning on his heels, Maikeru began to slowly walk away from the grave of the man he admired more than any Hokage before or after him. A man who was so many things, to so many people, the majority of them positive. A man whose legacy wouldn’t be forgotten, not as long as the Uchiha could help it.
As he walked, he returned the wide-brimmed white hat to his head, his equally white robes flowing behind him in the light summer breeze.
Maru in his demonic form zig-zagged to make sure he wouldn't be caught in the crossfire of battle, usually it took him a little time to charge up his Omni-Flash while he prepared to strike Jeez opened her mouth to create a large glowing spear of natural energy in her hands that kinda looked more like a gaint red candy cane coated with miasma to launch it at the creature and it made a direct hit! Jeez seeing the mouth of the creature beginning to glow again had quickly moved to get out of range nearly stepping on a couple people because of her current size. Maru while seeing the creature letting another beam blast from it's mouth had whistled at his youkai and she lowered her white hand to pick Maru up to toss Maru at the creature. Maru danced in the air before aiming his foot at the dinosaurs head, his foot coated with his dark red aura as he landed the blow to the creatures head causing it to nearly fall letting a cocky. “Take that!” Loose before he prepared for the big attack that he was going to make. As the rouge landed safely he saw the white haired girl going in for the attack, the girl he recognized was the one he pulled her cheek on that heist mission mastermind had cooked up. Unfortunately, the poor thing ended up having to the almost dead creatures jaw fall on her from the constant barrage of attacks. “Damn, not Rei too.” Maru said even though the girl was actually Danii. If this fight goes on any longer the entire clothes team would end up dead, he wasn't going to let that happen, especially to his favorite student who currently couldn't defend himself so he decided to preform his signature move….. BIG … ASS… OMNI… FLASH!
Maru got to a good spot, pointing his musket at the creature his Kensei spirit made the same gesture in as Maru's golden spiritual chakra and his demonic chakra blended together like Yin and Yang to make the small musket into a huge cannon that Maru could barely even hold. Copying his Kensei spirit, Maru winked at the fuse to light it, putting all of his energy and part of his soul into one blast while helping to feed the Gaia's Vengeance along with everyone on the battlefield. Once his Omni-Flash was fully charged Maru pulled the trigger then gave everything he had into one HUGE Omni-Flash the combined power of his signature weapon, his demonic abilities, and the power of the legendary technique taught to him by his white haired sensei back in Konoha pushed Omni-Flash over the top. If Omni-Flash didn't kill this thing, then Gaia's Vengeance surely had finished the job. No one knows what actually killed the beast… the mental attacks, the vanishing worlds, the many high leveled just, the Omni-Flash, or even the Gaia's Vengeance. But the king of the critters was no more…..
_____
When the battle was actually over, Maru had transformed back into his usual self after about 30 seconds then began to make his way to where his unconscious student was, dropping to his knees the masked rogue had held Maikeru up right so he could begin talking to his unconscious student like he was dead. Tears ran down both ends of his eye mask like a river but the rouge had a proud smile on his face. Jeez had shrunk down to her normal adorable small size, looking at the peaceful look on Maikeru's face she tried to shake the boy to wake up then tried licking him but it didn't work…. Tears already beginning to build up in the Youkai's eyes as Maru began talking to Maikeru who he assumed was dead. “Hey there buddy… you missed that big ass Omni-Flash I just did, it was really something… Sorry I didn't use it early on, I bet you if I did you would be… wouldn't be…” he began sobbing at the thought that his favorite student might have passed on to the other world. “Look.. I know you're probably somewhere on the way to heaven but if you are a ghost somewhere I just wanted to tell you how proud I am to be your Sensei. You fought good… better than I had when I was your age. You and… and….” He sniffled then looked at the real Reicheru trying to figure out who the hell she was to Maikeru because all he knows was that she gave them clothes. He gave up on remembering her name then just went went with a nick for this emotional speech he was giving.
“You and this brown haired bitch.” He said from the heart. “This beautiful, brown haired, unrecognizable, unknownable bitch had fought well. You know I think she would've been a great girlfriend if you guys were in a relationship, you'll be able to get me some free capes for days if you impressed her uncle. It's almost sad that the bitch ended up stabbing you in the end, I blame the monster and her weak mind.” He continued to sob, Jeez had already broken down then began to wail as she cried over Maikeru. Maru held Maikeru close then raised his fist to the sky. “You hadn't died in vain, the village is safe now due to your ultimate sacrifice. When you meet the big man tell him that Maru ain't that bad okay? Save me a good spot outside the gates so I can watch everyone else go to heaven.” Maru held his head down then gave the boy a light punch to the chest. “Love ya buddy, if you can tell me if there's fox girls up there…”
Maru began to feel a little light headed, he forgot that he had exhausted most of his chakra on OMNI-FLASHING this thing to hell. His vision becoming blurry, then he fell backwards pretty hard and Jeez looking concerned had began shaking Maru to make him wake up. Kawaii shook her head, watching the paramedics take Maikeru and Reicheru away to be healed knowing the two would most likely be fine. Maru was such a drama queen at times. As Maru laid there Umashi himself scooped up the unconscious masked rogue from the battlefield, Maru was breathing in the natural energy that the man was giving off being to sleep absorb the energy because it was spiritual and he had a taste for spiritual energy. Needless to say he took in a bit too much, his skin began to turn green, a beak like mouth grew on his mouth, the top of his head began to sink in to form a dish, and his cape began to form into a large shell. The before anyone knew what was happening… POOF! Umashi was holding a full fledged Kappa in his arms! Maru's exposed skin was a bit more slimier and he was talking about cucumbers in his sleep with his mouth clicking as he spoke.
The rest was history, Maru adjusted to being a Kappa pretty well. He mostly began hanging around the docks to wait for people to scare up for fun, also the cool thing about being a Kappa was that he was able to go underwater and beat up some monsters that hid underwater. Plus he fit in with the turtles that Umashi had and they at least made him some sweet cucumber topping pizza and filled the dish on his head. Maru was a turtle for about 3 months before he figured out how to get out of his kappa form into a normal human. This lead to Maru's journey on becoming an actual sage like and began shape shifting from Youkai, to turtle, and he was even able to turn into a tsukumogami when he learned the sage art from a friendly youkai who lived in the mountains. It was also rumored that when he learned the sage arts that Maru was seeking to learn from other sages by becoming their disciples, seeking to learn every sage mode possible so he could turn into anything imaginable. No one really knows if he was successful in that but the rogue is still hunting monsters to this very day.
Breathing heavily, Ayumu could already tell he was going to be sore after this fight. He was expending a lot of chakra, throwing everything he had at the beast. But this was no time to be concerned about the next morning. Right now everyone was fighting to make sure there would be a next morning, and he was no exception. Enraged by watching one of his own fall, chakra continued to flare up from his skin and burn brightly in his eyes. It was time to show this thing they didn't call him Raikage for nothing.
Performing a long series of handseals, Ayumu began transforming his chakra into a form suitable to his title. Sparks began to crackle around his forearm as he held it to the sky. In one area of the sky, the darkest of clouds began to form and coalesce, lightning dancing around within. The hairs on Ayumu's skin began to stand on end. Swinging his hand towards the ground, an enormous bolt of lighting followed a split second later striking the beast in an explosion of electricity. He was sure it felt that one, yet still it stood tall.
Another incredibly powerful blast tore through the air from the maw of the monster, Ayumu leaping out of the way and landing a short way from the path of destruction. Throwing back his head, Ayumu let out of a roar of anger and frustration. Hunching forward, he brought his hands together without performing any handseals this time and began focusing his chakra between them. The chakra visibly began to form a spinning ball of energy. It grew chaotically in bursts, larger and larger until it was bigger than his torso.
"COME ON!" he shouted, giving up the ranged offensive and rushing in for a direct strike. Holding the large orb of energy above his head, he leapt into the air boosted by chakra and then with the aid of gravity ninjutsu propelled himself towards the beast rapidly. The ball of energy collided with the beasts hide before the force of the impact launched Ayumu backwards, sending him into the ground hard enough that he felt his shoulder dislocate. Yet he wasn't going to let a little thing like that slow him down- the beast was beginning to show signs of weakening.
"Keep pushing it!" Ayumu called to those within earshot. Another burst of fire erupted from the creature, narrowly missing Ayumu. In counterattack, Ayumu summoned one of the most powerful wind jutsu he knew, launching it at the beast. He'd known this move to cut clean through metal, but for this he was satisfied to see gashes in the beast's hide. It wasn't invincible. They were doing this.
Gathering electricity to his arm, he began to form a blade of lightning as he watched for the right opening. When he spotted it, he moved quickly and leapt onto the beast, running across it's back and reaching the spot where he had previously wounded it. With an aggressive shout, he thrust the lightning blade into one of the wounds he had previously opened, burying it deep into the beast's side. A pained growl told him the beast had definitely felt that one. Yet, with a twist of it's body, the giant threw Ayumu off and swung it's tail crashing into Ayumu who in turn was sent into the nearby wall of stone on one side of the pass. With that impact the air was forcibly expelled from Ayumu's lungs and he was dazed, unable to move as he slumped into the crevace that his body had created. "Ouch..." he muttered, wincing in pain. More than a few bones had broken from that one.
As Ayumu watched his shinobi continue the fight, things suddenly seemed dire, yet no one was giving up. Everyone was fighting with all they had. His heart swelled with pride despite the situation. Yet that good feeling lasted but a moment. His eyes fixated suddenly on two familiar faces a moment before Reicheru and Maikeru ran one another through with their swords. "W-what the hell?!"<i></i> Ayumu gasped. Struggling to get up, he somehow managed to pry himself from the crater in the wall and dropped to the ground below, falling to a knee as he landed. He knew the beast must have had some hand in whatever befell those two, but they were now unconscious on the ground which placed them in grave peril.
Staggering forward, Ayumu drew one of his sheathed swords from his belt and used it like a crutch to support part of his weight as he made his way towards the kids as quickly as he could... which was to say: not very. He feared there was no way he would make it to them in time, and yet at that moment it seemed a miracle occurred. The beast seemed to cry out in anguish as it stopped in place. The shinobi still standing threw every last thing they had at the creature and it seemed to simply accept its fate as jutsu after jutsu tore it apart and brought it down.
As the dust settled, Kumogakure stood victorious. Searching frantically, Ayumu located the unconscious former Leaf shinobi and continued his staggered march towards them. "Medic... Medics! We need medics over here!"<i></i> he shouted as he regained his breath, drawing the attention of medical shinobi who had arrived on the scene to treat the injured. He pointed towards the couple, both impaled by one another's weapons and the medics rushed to them to begin treatment and prepping to take them to the hospital.
Heaving a sigh, Ayumu allowed himself to drop to a knee once more, using his sword to keep himself propped up. It had been a long time since he'd been in a fight half as intense as that one. His body was screaming at him both from the injuries he'd sustained as well as the massive amounts of chakra he had expelled. "Jesus, I'm getting old..."<i></i> he complained to himself, wiping some blood from his forehead. He just hoped those kids would be alright. He wasn't too worried about himself. He'd been broken enough times to know this wouldn't be his last fight.
As the stage for this nightmare scene dissipated, that being the dragon Maikeru had 'borrowed' as his life and chakra left him, the two entered a free fall from near the full height of the Pass. Leroy would watch in horror and attempt to reach the two, but in taking Hon up above the King's head he couldn't descend fast enough without risking the safety of his rider. And so they fell for what felt to her like an eternity. Hayate's spirit within the blade that had bore into Maikeru's chest cried out to her, as if attempting to will itself to return to her hand and undo the damage it had unwillingly done to her partner. But there was no going back. There was only the flashing of the images she'd seen in the monster's mind's eye, the echoing of the words that she'd heard alongside the ones spoken through her.
The image of Maikeru before her, blood at the corners of his mouth mirroring her own, fading into a sea of all the people who had ever meant anything to her that was then wrapped up in the burning grip of the King.
By the time Danii reached them, keeping them from the certain death that a full fall from that height would have brought, Rei had all but lost consciousness. The intense burning in her chest that had consumed her only moments ago was but a memory as her shocked body entered shut down. Yet, strangely, Rei held on to that sensation - she was certain it was the last thing she would ever feel. She would be wrong, as the distant squeezing of her hand attempted to draw her back out of the despair of the reality of what she'd seen in the symbiote's memory. A simple gesture, but one that swelled her faintly beating heart, and one which she returned with the last of her strength before there was only white.
When the battle was won only moments later by some miraculous and strange turn of events, Leroy would bring his passenger safely to the ground before taking off for Reicheru. Arriving as the black rain began to fall, he would stretch out his wings over top of the three former refugees turned true Kumo shinobi, covering them from the droplets for fear they were another genjutsu. The griffin's front paws glowed a light green, which he held over both fallen shinobi until the medics arrived. As he did, he sensed the difference in their chakra from before. There was something… foreign present, something…
The young owl's feather's around his beak and the back of his neck ruffled when he caught sight of the mark that had been burned into each of them; they looked almost like a branding mark, but there was more to these than simply burnt flesh. What, he did not know.

Before long he heard a voice from behind him call frantically for the attention of medics. As the combat medics responded to the order of their Raikage, Leroy stepped back and looked at the haggard man. "You may want to join them, Raikage-sama." Looking at the battle-worn leader, Leroy considered the stories Reicheru had shared with him of her past and her hope for a future in Kumo under this man's leadership. The young summon was torn. They'd gone into this without a second thought; Reicheru hadn't even stopped to ask questions when she heard the possibility of danger. He knew her heart, and yet, in his first real battle he'd failed to keep his human safe. Looking back at Ayumu, the over-sized owl-griffin said, "You're a good man. Thank you. I can give you a lift over to the hospital if you'd like, whenever you're ready." He'd do this for several of the injured shinobi or terrified civilians, flying above the rubble the battle had created and the proud wall of the Dragon Tooth Pass which still stood in spite of it all. Surely, the griffin thought, the brave people of Kumogakure would do the same.
Nagisa would watch the thing seemingly implode form the combined attacks from the allied shinobi. It was surreal. However, they won. Nagisa would not mind over the details of the others. There were those that were injured. She had a job to do.
Nagisa would go over to each shinobi and heal any wounds. She would introduce herself as a medical shinobi from Leaf. There was no time to deal with formalities.
She would make an exception to Ayumu the Raikage.
"Lord Raikage. I am Nagisa, the medical Sennin of Leaf. I was heading here to talk to your medical shinobi about medical techniques and ran into... this.... she would make a motion towards the spot the creature had been.
"Allow me to heal your wounds and your chakra. I would like to escort some of these people to the hospital. I am sure some of your shinobi will guide me to it." she would offer.
Regardless of if he accepted, she would move on to the next. She was going to heal who she could and the best she could. A shinobi on a mission.
Ayumu watched as the creature, seemingly a companion of Reicheru, began using healing jutsu on the two unconscious shinobi. A summoned creature, no doubt. He had noticed it flying around during the fight though he hadn't paid it much mind until now since it seemed to be on their side. Shortly thereafter, medical shinobi made their way to the two on the ground and took over, prepping them before taking them away to the hospital with urgency fitting for their wounds. Ayumu had not moved from his spot, having found that his injuries hurt far less when he remained as motionless as possible. He had, however, activated his own medical jutsu and begun to heal what he could with his basic medical training. He looked up as one of the foreign shinobi approached, surprised to find himself talking to not only a Leaf shinobi, but a Sennin no less. Nagisa recounted how she had been heading to Kumo simply to meet with the medical branch when she happened upon the situation at the gates. She offered her healing services for Ayumu as well as others injured from the battle.
"Well, Nagisa, we were very fortunate that you happened to be here at this moment. I apologize for the welcome you received. You have my thanks for everything," Ayumu replied, regretful he couldn't exactly rise from his position to greet her properly. While is own injuries were fairly severe, his life wasn't in danger. He surveyed the battlefield and with a glance could spot others who were likely in more urgent need of healing before they could be moved to the hospital. "If you're willing to offer your aid further, please don't worry about me but lend it to my people. Once again, you have my gratitude," he said before nodding as she went on to do just that. He wished he could have met the woman under better circumstances, but she had certainly left a good impression.
Meanwhile, the griffin known as Leroy had allowed the medical shinobi to tend to his ally and made his way to Ayumu's side. His suggestion, probably wise, was that Ayumu probably ought to join them. Ayumu looked around the battlefield once more, watching medical shinobi tending to the injured. A few would steal a glance at him every few seconds. Right now, he was just a distraction here. His focus was broken as the griffin surprised him with a compliment and gratitude. Ayumu's eyebrows raised as he turned to look at the majestic beast, who was now offering him a lift to the hospital. "I'm not sure what makes you say that, but thank you. And perhaps I will take you up on that offer. I'm not doing anybody any good here with my stubborn old man act,"<i></i> Ayumu replied, deciding to accept the kind gesture.
"Just uh... go easy on me. I've never flown before, not sure how my stomach will take to it,"<i></i> Ayumu concluded. There was the whole paragliding onto a train incident, but that had been many years back and not exactly the same. When the creature was ready, Ayumu would gingerly clamber onto its back and allow himself to be flown off the battlefield. He couldn't help but be a bit envious of Reicheru to have such a convenient companion. Getting to the hospital was a breeze by air, and he didn't even throw up. Not even once.
Upon mounting the furred beast, Hon couldn't but notice some small details in the midst of the battle's climax. He definitely detected a living organism escape the monster's body before it lit up... it was something fluid. It had life. He couldn't help but scroll his ever-watchful eyes towards it previous spot where he saw it last, in which he looked around. There were many shinobis present in the battlefield near the gate, and Hon paid attention to them plus the dying lizard. This battle was destructive in its own, agonizing way...
... Who was that?
He saw a girl... he got a glimpse of her. Assuming the organism's direction, he grasped an unfamiliar presence that wasn't there during the defense of the gate where Hon got to see all the shinobis. However, Leeroy was flying him around for now, and the trajectories in the air that the beast took allowed the grasp of sight to turn into a bland, naked image of the injured land...
From what he saw, whatever escaped the monster's body was too quick to be considered a blood shot from some injury. And the girl... He would have to go down and scan the area. Maybe she was still there.
It was true what they said: Hajime was still sleeping to this day. At least during then night as he wasn’t actually narcoleptic. Instead he was clumsy and had knocked himself out trying to assist on fighting the giant creature. It was a shame, since his ability to use ninjutsu was top notch compared to many of the shinobi in Cloud. Instead he was just floating low on the ground towards the creature.
Turns out it would make you quite the tasty snack, as the creature had beaten on him harder than that one sports team beat that other sports team. It wasn’t evident for the Chuunin until he realised how battered and bruised he felt after eventually waking up around midnight.
By now he had floated out of the fight as the creature attacked him, through the gates back into the village, and ended up somewhere within Torre Celeste. His body just lay motionless against a wall as it floated off the floor from the gravity jutsu he had kept maintaining during his knocked out phase. The puppets, however, were nowhere to be seen in all this.
The diplomat would stir awake, stretching and yawning as he realised he was face first to the floor. It would cause him to panic as the jutsu wore off and he would land in a comedic fashion. Luckily for the man it was way past midnight so no one would be around, not after everything that happened that night.
He would use this opportunity to dust himself off, look around to grab his bearings, and finally made his way home. The journey was slow and full of questioning what happened. But he figured since the village wasn’t a burning pyre of ash that everything was okay. Guess it would just be fine to go home instead of checking.
