Mojitsu Areomaru, a Journeyman of his own rights, was asked by one of he Sensei's of the Toraono Dojo to meet with and help guide potential members of the Journeyman Order, Toraono Toji and Chikamatsu Toyoko. Areomaru was told that this boy was strong for his age and carried the classic traits seen in his clan, so with that might and resistance in mind it was no wonder that Chikamatsu Shin asked the Chuunin to speak with the boy. The young Toyoko was apparently a budding puppeteer who was already crafting some unusual pieces to use as weapons.
Setting at his workshop in the Hall of Hammers, Areo would begin setting up his space so that the new students would have the tools needed to begin practicing the craft. Areo would light a fire for the kiln and furnace as The Child would walk around grabbing small tools and placing them on the anvil that was in the center of the room. Areo was curious what sort of tools these children would be interested in crafting.
Turning his gaze to The Child the small autonomous familiar would continue to work by grabbing tongs and rasps. A slight grin slipped from the corner of his mouth at the prospect of these children wishing to learn the way of being a Mechanist and creating their own robotic companions.
The room itself was a large and open space with a simple stone floor and stucco walls. There were large stone topped tables that filled the room and intricately made weapons hanging on the walls. Not only did Areo craft the creation known as The Child, but he also creates many of the puppets that were used across the village by the various Puppeteers. While he can create swords and other typical weapon, he definitely preferred the intricacies of puppets.
Large serpents that stretched five yards long, the massive shells of tortoises that sat three yards wide, and countless humanoid forms rested in scrolls that were neatly stacked on the display tables, each with an example hang on the wall behind it. The most commonly sought after model were the simple humanoid versions as they were the easiest to control. He had heard rumors that his models, built after the designs of The Child, were similar enough to the Sunan Crow that many beginner puppeteers could use them interchangeably without too much of a learning curve.
Areo did not get his hopes up that this Toraono boy was going to be a user of the Puppet Master Technique, but the possibility was there. Even if he ended up wishing to craft and master the ways of the war hammer or the katana, Areo would help him succeed. On the contrast, Areo was excited to meet this young Chikamatsu child to see what sort of unique delicacies she was already working with.
