Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Zensunna. From partaking in the various food stalls to window browsing among shops, there was always plenty to do here. And Azusa's favorite part? You didn't particularly need a reason to wander around, and could find a reason to stick around with minimal amount of effort. In fact, by simply being here and wandering the street she was very much accomplishing her primary objective of not being somewhere else.

That is, so long as Hinoka didn't have her way.

"A-Azusa, please...Lets go back home already? Please?" The timid voice of Hinoka, the tiny silver-haired attendant(-in training) of the Aikayume priestess(-in training), called out, already sounding defeated; she knew the spoiled princess well enough to know she was picking a losing battle. "What? No. I don't...I don't want to go home yet." Azusa replied, leaving her companion distraught. "But...We will...I will....get in trouble..." Clearly torn between what she was supposed to do and what she was able to do, the poor girl was in a lose-lose situation with Azusa, powerless to do anything but go along with her friend's whimsical nature.

Hinoka never got her way.

[Azusa] | [Hinoka]
Shrugging off her attendant's dilemma, the ginger-haired student continued to trot along the lighted streets, debating what she wanted to focus her time on. Ideally, time spent away from her clan's estate could be best spent training in secret, but...The girl rubbed at the bruises lining her arms, sore from her previous bouts of 'training' with her brother. And, while it was true (by technical definition) that her brother was training her, Azusa wasn't learning much more than how to take a beating. On the plus side, that had to at least build up her physical resistance, right?...Right? Oh, how she yearned for the day she'd be able to defeat him in a duel...maybe then she'd earn his respect?

Hinoka, attentive to Azusa as ever, caught onto the orange haired girl's distant expression. "Is...this about your brother? I could keep you company when we go home...you don't have to be alone with him..." Azusa's orange pigtails probably could have knocked someone out with how fast she turned around. "Hinoka...Did you see? I mean...pretend you didn't see anything! Stupid Hinoka...I hate you..." The Aikayume princess yelled at her friend, before dashing off between stalls and shops haphazardly, paying no heed to those around her.

Hinoka chased after, but it was endlessly difficult to keep her in sight when she stopped to apologize to everyone Azusa shoved and ran into...

Woof woof!

The sound of an animal would echo through the various empty alleyways as it bounded in a zig-zag pattern across one. Followed right behind it was none other than Amaterasu herself, keeping in stride with it almost perfectly, down on all fours. It had a slight speed advantage, but only because she was not built for running this way, at least not yet. She was training, her wolf being her guide as she dipped around a corner and followed it. She was fast on it's heels, gaining speed as she got comfortable with the running style until an equally excited force intervened in the form of a small bright haired youth. Ace, the wolf, would bound over her as if she wasn't an obstacle in the slightest. Amaterasu however dug her hands into the dirt like hitting ice on a snowy road and spun out, rolling across the ground and possibly into the small child. Ace turned on a dime, rushing back to her.

"Wha..."anyone get the name of the asteroid that hit me?" she mumbled under her breath as she got up, dusting the dirt off her clothes.

As Azusa zoomed through the space between shops, her companion's pleas grew more and more distant. What did she gain from trying to leave Hinoka behind? Nothing really. It just made her feel better during the moment, at least until her later feelings of guilt struck her.

However, in a surprising turn of events she soon found herself about to collide with, from what she could see during the brief moment before impact, a giant canine. "Uwah!!" (Is that a WOLF?!?) Had she not been about to smash into it she would have been captivated by it. Also, she was suddenly aware of how tiny she felt in comparison to it...If it was hungry...well...

While Azusa was only able to try to slow her pace, the canine was thankfully much more dexterous, and avoided her with ease, leaving Azusa's mind blank. On a lucky day, Azusa would have came to a halt and continued on her way (at a slow walk).

Today was not a lucky day.

The Wolf was apparently being chased by another, the most deformed canine she'd ever seen. Or maybe a balding ape? (it was hard to determine during the whole split-second she had to react when it burst around the corner). It was also far less agile than the wolf; it was Azusa-tier, meaning niether of them were capable of preventing their collision.

*Crash*

It impacted Azusa in such a way that she was knocked off her feet and did no less than a complete rotation in the air prior to face planting on the ground a...respectable...distance away. (It really was quite a graceful fall, as far as faceplants go)

"Oh geez...So dizzy..." The priestess muttered to herself as her mind tried to re-calibrate her orientation. (The floor was infront of her, so why did she see stars? Wasn't she underground in the first place?) Useless as ever, she was nearly down for the count. Her more reliable counterpart was on the way though; "L-L-Lady Azusa!!!" Hinoka caught up after some time, at a stalemate between her desire to run to Azusa's side and her desire to *not* pass by the giant wolf and person inbetween. "Umm, umm, umm....what did you do now..." "I almost just died...It was a werewolf...coulda ate me, soul and everything...uhh.." Her attempts at rising failed, and she collapsed back onto the ground. KO

"Sorry! So sorry! Miss, you're probably hurt and angry? I hope your ok...but, umm,...pleasedonteatAzusaplease!" Hinoka explained, repeatedly bowing in the woman (and her very large puppy) direction from a few 'safe' feet away.

As for Azusa? Well...she was drooling in the dirt.

She started to walk away, apparently not feeling the impact with the girl as no apologies or words where going to be spoken, she did feel the bruises begin to form though. A few steps in to her graceful exit, and she was intercepted by Ace, barking at her to turn around and address the girl she had just plowed through. She turned and noticed the girl face down and made a gasp face, running quickly to her aid. However, someone would beat her to the punch, not that it'd stop her from coming over as Ace walked slowly behind, as to not freak the little girls out.

"Sorry! So sorry! Miss, you're probably hurt and angry? I hope your ok...but, umm,...pleasedonteatAzusaplease!"

She blew past the girl bowing and apologizing and scooped up the poor girl laying face down in the dirt by the collar of her shirt and picking her up like she was a piece of paper. "Don't die on me!" she exclaimed, shaking the poor girl back and forth violently trying to get her to respond. She would drop the girl right after, turning away in a dramatic pose and falling to her knees. "Why mother suna do you test me so, now I must turn this girl into a werewolf to save her life!" if it wasn't obvious at this point, she was in full on play with the kids mode, hoping to alleviate the pain of plowing into the girl, with the worry and/or laughter of the children. She turned, and bared her teeth, they were sharp and pointy, and she truly looked human-wolf like, as was her bloods properties, taking on the aspects of her animal companion. "Rah!" she feigned a lunge at the girls.

The woman dashed passed Hinoka, leaving the poor girl with the though that she was about to see her friend be brutally devoured. This was it, she was about to be scarred for life, exiled from the clan, and probably die in the desert...

Before the waterworks began, she saw the woman aggressively lift, shake, and even drop Azusa in an attempt to stir awake, making the girl's injuries sound worse than they were. It was convincing enough that even Azusa was stirred awake enough to believe it! "She's d-d-dieing??!" "N-no...why am I dieing now?..." Unfortunately, while the thought of trying to help Azusa was very much appreciated, she probably just caused Azusa abit of brain damage in the process...

On the floor (she was dropped, remember); (N-no way...is this really how I die? Dieing to a werewolf should be pretty cool, but...not like this...So lame...) Azusa thought to herself. Still, at least dieing wasn't as bad as she thought; she didn't feel that bad. Even more, rather than strength leaving her, she actually felt like she was quickly getting better; by now her dizziness had faded. In fact, when the woman dramatically exclaimed that she must share her power in order to be saved, the 'dying' girl jumped up to her feet, suddenly feeling full of life. "C-Cool! Save me! I don't want to die!" Stars of excitement were practically beaming out of Azusa's expressive eyes, to the point where she hardly flinched at the woman's feral feint of a lunch.

...However while Azusa was clearly excited by the thought, Hinoka wasn't entertained so much; the woman's lunge nearly caused her to take pass out and take Azusa's place on the dirt. "...T-Turn Azusa?...D-don't please..." She spoke quietly, her voice becoming a meeker and meeker plea with every passing moment. If this woman were to turn Azusa into a werewolf like her, it would taint Azusa's blood and potentially prevent her from ascending into a full Aikayume priestess...

But what was much more of a concern....

...Was that that Hinoka was the one who had to brush Azusa's hair and prepare her everyday. Azusa was feisty enough about it with that long hair of hers, but if Hinoka had to brush her fur as a werewolf? It would be impossible! Besides, werewolves are supposed to be intimidating. Who would be frightened by a tiny ginger furred one?

"Shh, stupid Hinoka! Be quiet! This is a life or death situation, right lady? Bumping into you was super lucky! "

In one simple motion, while they were having their back and forth, she grabbed the girls arm and lightly bit it, it was playful and hopefully when she let go, the girl would take the opportunity to flip out as if she was transforming to scare her friend.

"THERE, IT IS DONE!" she said with a low growl in her voice, something easy for someone like her to pull off considering her roots. The Inuzuka would then stand up and jump backwards, landing deftly on her wolfs back. "Now rise, my new pack puppers!" she said, raising her hands evily and dramatically. "Turn your friend, one of us...one of us!" she chanted, her wolf was laughing though he was pretty serious all the time, even he was getting caught up in all of it

You know, Azusa was kinda expecting something more. More blood. More pain. Maybe some screaming. Wasn't that stuff what werewolves were all about? How do they even work down here in Suna, beneath the ground? Azusa didn't understand, but the she-wolf woman had said that it was done. Surely that must be the case right?

"Heh...I feel stronger already!" Azusa stated, being living proof that placebo's were an effect that exist. Azusa immediately went to check her her canine teeth, eagerly hoping for some kind of growth.
"Grrrr!!" She raised her arms in a growl directed towards Hinoka. Yes, the moment Azusa "thinks" she gets some kind of power, and she immediately turns to test it out on her friend. That was their relationship.

"..Uwawa?..." Now as for Hinoka. The poor girl wasn't normally one to so easily get swept up in Azusa's pace, she had to be the voice of reason! But considering this woman here was also fueling Azusa's games, well...the girl just couldn't really take it. Normally she'd easily be able to call out their games, but everything happened so fast...she wasn't exactly sure if they were playing or not! (Hint: Azusa wasn't). "Fine...If you are going to be a werewolf then you have to turn me, too Azusa!" Hinoka took a deep breath to prepare herself as Azusa drew closer, spurred on by the Inuzuka's chanting...closer....closer.

It wasn't until Azusa was close enough that she could practically feel Hinoka's trembling that she suddenly turned away in a rapid pivot, crossing her arms and simply dismissing Hinoka. "Nah, Hinoka's not ready for a power like this. It's mine now, not hers."

"..." She wasn't one to usually get emotional, but irritation shown upon her face. "No fair Azusa! You are so mean!" Azusa took delight in it, and turned to the Inuzuka. "So wolves have Alpha leaders right? Is that you then? How long until I can turn into a wolf like..." Azusa ignored Hinoka's whining an gazed down towards the canine below the Inuzuka. "um, your friend? I bet it'd make me really good at Taijutsu finally, right?"

[MFT]

There was an adorable exchange between friends. The other wanted to be included but was declined harshly by her new pup. What was she thinking? New pup? Did she accidentally just get a new pack mate?

"So wolves have Alpha leaders right? Is that you then? How long until I can turn into a wolf like..."

"Excuse me, I turned you, that makes me your alpha!" she pointed at herself, standing in a sure stance. "Turning into a full wolf won't make you good at taijutsu, I mean look at that, he doesn't even have thumbs!" she jested at Ace, he reeled up on his back legs, easily being two of her tall, and put his front paws on her back, pushing her to the floor and smooshing her to the ground. Was he getting caught up in the games they were playing? Her hand would shoot up within eye view and wave a white flag that seemingly appeared out of nowhere, ah comedy at it's finest.

"If you want to get good at Taijutsu, you need to practice. There are no shortcuts, just hard work..." he said in a serious tone, his mouth moving as if he was human and the words coming out crystal clear, as if he was an old man jumping on a teaching moment as she squirmed under his paws. He did have that kind of personality though, the kind who always wanted others to grow.

"Now that's some good advice!"
Kaz had been walking along the street minding his own business when he had seen this entire set of events unfold. He would usually have let things unfold, no need to be a nuisance to others right? But then the wolf had said something pretty inspiring. Oh and also the wolf had spoken, that was a thing which had just happened.
"Oh err sorry, excuse me ladies, gentlecanine. Didn't mean to intrude. Forgot myself, so sorry."
The sentence seemed to dissolve into incoherent excuses. Even as the teen seemed to shrink away from them. His blue eyes growing a little watery as he did so.
"From the mouthes of Wolves, or is it babes? I forget the phrase. Errr, So did you say something about Taijutsu?"
Kaz was trying to deflect attention away from him, hopefully they wouldn't question it to much. Maybe I should just run? That would cause too many problems. Huuugh...

"Thats....True..." Azusa realized to both Ama's points. That did leave her in abit of a situation; not sharing the power with Hinoka would mean that Azusa herself would be lowest in the chain. Not exactly the most desirable situation, right? But if she did turn Hinoka into a wolfbeast, then that would mean there was someone else lower than her, albeit, by a few minutes.

Anyways, far more important things were at hand; the wolf could speak! "...That...is....so...cool!" Azusa exclaimed. Whatever lightheadedness she had felt by falling over earlier was completely gone by now. What was more, the wolf seemed to be pretty knowledgeable too, saying something insightful, albeit not something Azusa wanted to hear. "Ugh, no way...there has to be some kind of super secret wolf technique or something that could make its user strong..." She spoke lazily. In her mind whoever swung fastest and hardest would win a Taijutsu battle. And a normal person was slower and weaker than a wolf...so a werewolf using Taijutsu quickly and powerfully? Success! The lack of opposable thumbs might be an issue, but with claws and fangs...

"Azusa, you're spacing out. If such a shortcut existed, it probably wouldn't be a secret for long..." "Hmph. I'm definitely never sharing any power with you, Hinoka..." Azusa pouted, disliking that her dream of a shortcut to power wasn't so widely accepted as she had hoped.

Fortunately...she may have had backup arriving in the form of kid older than herself, tall, but pretty thin. Hmm..."Hey wait, don't leave!" Azusa called out to him. "We're in the middle of an important quest; you think that there can be shortcuts through training right? I mean, trainings good...but if you're lucky, shortcuts can be better right?"

Azusa really wanted an excuse to get out of training...

OOC: I gave amaterasu a week, going to post and hopefully they'll get a chance soon...

“I dunno about being lucky.” The boy seemed to have relaxed a little, or at least had stopped backing off like a wounded animal. He glanced around at his surroundings, it was quite pretty around her in a very busy, urban sort of way. Reminds me of a hive of ants, the city constantly working towards a purpose, even if not many know what it really is. Kaz smiled, perhaps he had a part to play within this city as well.

“But if you want a small cheat, which might help a lot then follow me.” Kaz ducked into an alley, and jumped, kicking from wall to the other until he could get to the roof. “If you can keep up that is!” The roof provided a new angle to look at the streets below, showing the roads that pumped the people round the city, he balanced himself precariously on the roof keeping an eye out at the other tops of the houses. Occasionally you could see the flitting of other shinobi, running messages or just going for a run, sometimes it was hard to tell. Kaz began to flip a coin, catching it briefly, before flipping it again. I wonder if she has it in her? I thought I saw something, a spark, and some fire. Lets see where it takes us. Flip, catch, flip, catch. Though now I think about it the other one with her might have some trouble. Hopefully that other ones dog could carry her or something, I'm really bad at planning... “Oh, I'm Kaz by the way.”

[MFT] [265]

You see, Azusa was pretty straightforward and quite easy to manipulate. Leaving her with such open bait, then of course her curiosity would dictate that she follow. It was the obvious thing that she would do.

So obvious, that her companion Hinoka, saw what Azusa's reaction would be from practically a mile away. "You're not gonna get away from me!" As Azusa's confident grin took hold of her face and she began scanning for the simplest path up to the rooftops to give pursuit, Hinoka, not wanting to be left behind by Azusa again decided to take action.

The girl...threw herself on top of the ginger haired priestess with all the force her small body could muster...right as Azusa began to ready herself to jump. Azusa barely got half an inch off the ground before she and Hinoka were thrown against the alley way wall, and then onto the floor...

*Crash*

"...What the hell, Hinoka?!?!" the small heiress yelled from the ground, flailing beneath her cousin. This was the second time in such a short period of time that Azusa's face became uncomfortably familiar with the ground. She was not amused...But that didn't excuse reaching out and pulling poor Hinoka by the hair ;_;

"O-oww! P-please don't leave me again! I can't climb things like you can..." Hinoka pleaded. "Well who's damn fault is..." Azusa let go of her, and rose to her feet to dust herself off. She was going to continue berating Hinoka, but and once she saw how distressed she appeared, stopped speaking and let out a sigh. The poor girl was practically in tears. "...Fine, you win Hinoka. Lets go home." Hinoka appeared to perk up slightly.
"And, umm...Sorry..." Hinoka's eyes practically began to sparkle; considering that you could probably count the amount of times Azusa's ever apologized for anything on half a hand, it was a pretty big moment to her!

The teen smiled as he saw he the girl being dragged away.

"Maybe another day then!"

He jumped off the roof and continued on his way.

"What a weird encounter."
