Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Once identified as a 'Chosen', Itsuke went through arduous training to prove his worth. For some reason he had an inkling for the shadow element. This was discovered when he was handed a chakra paper, an item used to mark one's elemental affinity and the paper then blackened. So from there, with a blade of his own, he trained relentlessly and discovered he had an unique ability. Whenever struck with a ninjutsu-based attack, he was able to absorb some of the chakra, gaining some resistance to ninjutsu. The shamans labeled it a gift from the Gods.

When Itsuke grew older, he learned how to transfer the absorbed energy into his blade, using it to power up his attacks. Though the energy absorbed was never large in amount, it was an useful skill that had saved his life a few times.

Bull's Strength said:
The mastery of the sword is Itsuke's birthright and this includes weapons such as great/broadswords that were naturally heavy. To deal with the heaviness associated of these weapons, Itsuke focused on increasing his strength by performing repeated acts of chopping firewood. That's right, firewood. By going through two sets of 50 swings with an axe and vertically slashing the log in half, this activity increased the strength of his shoulders, the part that would be used when wielding heavy weapons. As such, the results of this training were so efficient it increased his proficiency with other weapons of lighter weight. His blade, no matter the weight, will always be just as fast...

The one.

Yoko was beautiful, the way light cast off her red hair. So beautiful, with her cloudy eyes of green and blue. Itsuke wanted her. He had to. How could he not. She was perfect.

The one.

Many go on with their lives without meeting a person they could call... the one, the one that resonates with them. How their souls sing and dance whenever in the presence of their loved one.

The one.

She was his, no matter what. So, he stalked her and got to know every little detail of her life, how she would eat while reading or watching something. How she'd record her dreams in her tiny little notebook every night. Everything about her belonged to him. Her hair, her eyes, her bosoms, her body, her soul... her blood! And now he shall have it, the perfect opportunity arising.

The one.

There he was, his face covered by his black skull mask with the tear stains. He walked up to her and covered her mouth as he placed his crude-looking knife at her throat. How soft her skin. Too bad it shall be marred with blood. "Suzuki sends his regards,"

Her throat now possessed the grin of death, a red smile that did not compliment her scared look at the moment of her lost life. Not at all. Work was work, no matter how beautiful she was. A shame indeed, but...

Darkness was his ally. For what did he have to fear?

Not the one.

Duelist said:
A fighter.

That is what he was. No matter who challenged him, he would always accept. Perhaps it was the blood in him. He could not help it. The blood of a warrior. So when the rough-looking man with the thick axe swung his weapon toward Itsuke's head, there was no backing down. Itsuke was, after all,
no craven. He had no eyes for anyone but his foe.

Dodging, Itsuke rolled away and unsheathed his blade, Byakuya, in a rapid movement. The man, cut, did not understand what had happened, but to his credit, he charged on and kept moving his blade. Perhaps he was deluded into thinking eventually one of his wild swings would hit home.

Time to relieve him of that delusion. Unsheathing his weapon once more in the Iaijutsu style, off went the man's head and the loud clunk his axe made upon touching the ground. Iwagakure was better for it, without the existence of this barbarian.

A fighter. A warrior. A samurai...

A duelist. Itsuke was indeed all, for not a single one would back down from a challenge.

Human Anatomy said:
Being a man of the shadows, Itsuke learned the workings of the human body, once his ascension was completed. This only made his assassination skills better, especially with his usage of shadow jutsus. Who would suspect a shadow hiding among shadows? None. A stab in the back, a slice on the throat, a thrust into the heart, and a pierce into the brain. All would kill a human being. It was his victim's misfortune for having threatened the people or the village in one way or another.

Still, with his knowledge of the body, he offered a quick death. Otherwise, he'd relish in torturing their poor shadows into oblivion and that was not pain one would wish upon themselves.

Bloody Mess said:
As a Nanjirou of the old, Itsuke's bloodlust was unquenchable. You see, when one of the bloodline draws a blade, know their samurai spirit would constantly scream at their owner to shed the blood of those who dare wrong them. Once the sword of a Nanjirou taste blood, it forms a link to that target and the Nanjirou, for no matter where his sword goes, the blade follows the blood. This bloodlust, though bearable and gives quite the bonus, can backfire on a Nanjirou's face, if he does not continue to shed blood. If blood is tasted once but his/her foe escaped then the samurai spirit will instead harm their owner for more blood. This is known as the Blood-seeking Sword Technique.

And it helped him shed so much blood. Drawn to the sight and smell of blood, Itsuke is somehow able to shed even more, feeding and satisfying his samurai spirit, Yoru. As such, if one fights Itsuke, possess the expectation to be bloodied everywhere. A dance of blood and steel.

A bloody mess, that's what it is.

Adrenaline Rush said:
Once during the course of a battle, Itsuke was pressed nearly into defeat. Scared yet excited beyond the norm for such a thrilling fight, he wanted the battle to continue, not end with his defeat. Perhaps drawing a small portion of his Wrath Seal's powers or simply effects of adrenaline, everything slowed down or rather he became faster, his senses heightened. He was able to see the path of his opponent's next attack and easily deflected it, returning a counter. Not letting the chance up, Itsuke mercilessly pressed his opponent and by then the battle had been turned into his favor.

Indeed do the gods favor the bold.

Willpower said:
Genjutsu.

Oh, how he hated it so! Bloody mind tricks. While it does indeed have its usefulness, it was still mere mind tricks. As a warrior, he does not truly appreciate genjutsu and hates fighting genjutsu users. Mostly because you could say it were as if his mind was naked and vulnerable for genjutsu users to molest. Not to mention he had no talent with the illusionary arts. He could handle ninjutsu or taijutsu users, being adept in the two, but genjutsu was an entirely different world. So he came up with a way to fight against it. With his will. Oh, he dared genjutsu users to attempt peeking in his mind and addle his senses.

For they will get nothing but the cold steel of his mind-blade cutting them into pieces. Strong of body, steel of mind... much like the samurai of yore, indeed.

Slashing - Style said:
In battles Itsuke knew all sort of things could happen. If anything can go wrong, it will. So he decided to prepare for everything by learning a style unique to him. With this style, he can switch between an offensive and defensive stance without much hassle. He could, if he wishes, to be fast, aggresive or cruel offensively. Defensively, he can block, counter or even feint! If anything could go wrong, Itsuke was prepared for it all. If not, then he'll get back on his feet and keep at it. A samurai does not back down, no matter the situation.

Weapon #1 said:
Byakuya (Ancestral Spirit Sword):
Meaning White Night, this unique katana has been in Itsuke's family for generations. Never meant to be in Itsuke's hands, he stole it from the family vault, once realizing it was once the blade of his samurai spirit, Yoru and that his father would never have given it to him. It was thin, slightly curved and sharp, as is all katanas with a white hilt. When drawn the blade is not visible, for there is none. The phrase, "Into the shade, Byakuya," must be uttered for the blade to appear, colored of a deep blackish-purple hue.

Type: Slashing (Bleeding)
Accuracy: +2
Damage: -10%
Augments: Ancestral Protection (Basic), Ancestor's Wrath (Special), Razor Strike

+Note: The names for these augments were not listed in the Nanjirou table, so I took the liberty, for my character, of naming them.

Formless Swordplay - Namikiri:
When Itsuke unlocked this lost form of swordplay, he had unknowingly stepped a foot closer to teleos, touching a pinnacle of mastery called "swordsmanship without a sword". Mastering a way to cut with even a wooden blade or a simple rock, his hands eventually became his blades. Taking a stance as of about to draw a sword out of a sheath, a simple flick or swing of his index and middle finger will result in anything in his path being cut. Meaning Cutting Waves, this 'imaginary' sword is indeed fearsome and sharp, for it is invisible, fast and will simply cut all. How it is possible to do this is known only to the young Nanjirou, for the mastery of the sword is his birthright. With time and practice, he shall perfect this 'blade'.

Type: Slashing (Bleeding)

Damage: +10%
Augments: Razor Strike, Toxify (Black Lotus), Vampiric

Boredom.

This is what the Guardian of Darkness was feeling. Despite the numerous supposed responsibilities a Guardian had, Itsuke was bored out of his wits. Having done seek guidance in the Chamber of Light, he figured it was time to do his village some good, especially after being told by a Shaman he should spread his wings a little. It was a fine day as he looked down at the village from the Guardian's Terrace with little cloud. A fine day for a mission, one that did not require assassination or infiltration. Mistake him not, for the art of killing is what he relished in, but for once he'd like to do something for the village that did not require slitting the throat of craven traitors and scums of the earth. Once assigned a victim, he always made sure to study the person, get to know their routine, absorb their very essence before emerging from the darkness and sniffing the flames within, always realizing they were not the one after doing so. He wanted to find the one.

But as Itsuke left the Shrine of the Gods and began his way toward the Embassy, a building of epic proportions. Upon entry, a large board pinned with various missions was in sight. He could see the variety of these missions, from easy to hard and spotted the one he wanted. A rescue mission, one for a retiree. Bah, bandits. Efforts have been made in rooting them out, but like weeds, they always return to be reaped all the same. As such extreme measures must be taken to teach bandits a very important lesson: taking from innocents and harming the villagers will only result in a horrendous death. One thing can be done to show them the light of their mistakes... by introducing them to true darkness!

And Fuji Itsuke is just the man to do that. He was a master of the shadows and recent events made him evaluate his fighting style once more. He felt closer to teleos, to his path of the spider... a true hunter of preys. With a slight adaption to the way he fought, he was smoother and faster than ever, never hesitating to take advantage of the element of surprise and strike down his opponent before any sort of reaction. His lightning-impulse had much to do with it.

After all, he was a Guardian and thinking ten moves ahead of his opponent was a much appreciated skill.
